Crawfish boil
มุมมอง 1642 ปีที่แล้ว
Everyone in the family pitches in to do our crawfish boil. Sons Steve Jr. and Chris trap them from creeks and rivers, then we all help in getting all the ingredients prepared and put in the boil pot. Chris makes sure the ingredients are added at the right time. Then we all dig in! This boil had crawfish, frog legs, andoulle sausage, shrimp, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, oranges, lemons ......well ...

Putting out the deer blind

Early spring, and it's a great time to get my son's deer blind put in the location he will hunt this upcoming fall. Equipped with a solar panel and propane heat it will be a warm and comfortable place to spend hours waiting for deer coming out into my field to eat my crops.

    I can fillet a bluegill with an electric knife much quicker. Why remove scales when you can just remove the skin with the scales?

    Good video. I have been making my own harnesses for years. One of my favorite things to incorporate is a small cigar shape float behind the blade. This helps keep the rig off the bottom if you are trolling slowly. Also, I only ever tie a single hook to the end and use 1/2 of a crawler. I don't think I missed many fish for the lack of a second hook.

  • @davidsummerville398
    @davidsummerville398 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Those hooks have barbs to keep the bait in place located near the eye of the hook. They seen to cut my 10lb. Monofilament with ease. I really struggle with this problem

      You are 💯 right! Wrong knot on those hooks! Use a fisherman's knot. Will not get cut!

    I plan on painting my treated pine with a few coats of polyurethane to repel water from the wood and scuffing it up a little where the carpet staples down using Gorilla wood glue to assist the staples. I do not have the hold down brackets like yours. I have a thin plate made out of Unistrut with three holes sitting on top of the main brackets. I have to drill a couple of holes through the bracket holes and wood and countersink carriage bolts with nuts to hold the boards down. Then fill in the holes with glue and carpet over it. One side the brackets are fixed in the up position. The other side the brackets swivel with the bracket at the rear of the trailer having a large screw adjustment with a crank handle. When the crank is turned all the way down the board is mounted in the highest upright position and the other two swivel brackets are in the upright position. When ready to launch I turn the handle which pulls the board a little backwards while it drops in height an inch. The swivel brackets keep the board level in the upright position as the other two board plates swivel to a stop position that is the same angle as the stop position on the crank bracket. This causes the boat to drop enough to roll off the trailer on the rollers without much effort. I retrieve the boat the same way and then turn the crank to lift the board back in position, so the boat is riding on the boards not the rollers. This is an old 60's galvanized trailer. I have another even older trailer that has a long handle lever at the front of the trailer which is attached to all the rollers by a narrow piece of metal. The roller brackets are welded to circular brackets that goes around large thick tubing running across the trailer. When I pull the handle lever the rollers turn around the tubes and raise the rollers up a few inches so that the boat rolls off the trailer with ease. Only reason I don't use this trailer is that it is extremely heavy. Does make a good junk hauler after attaching a truck bed on top of it.

    Great idea .. Gonna make that for my deep sea stuff like Penn 113 an so on.. I have a Piscifun Fishing Line Spooler for the spinning reels that keeps the line flat off the spool of line and counters the bail on the spinner from putting a twist on the line .. got it off Amazon for 16 bux

    We were eating fresh Walleye about 3 days a week in the Spring, and it reaches a point where you don't want to put any more Walleye in the freezer. So after a nice catch, I went right out and bought a similar smoker and smoked them the same way the next day. Not too bad. Some toughness, but still good for the first try.
