Yeah I share this sentiment too, genuinely why I like story mode games better than movies. It’s just nowadays it’s a coin flip if you’ll get a good story in games
Metro is a great game. There were hardly any story driven single player fps games when this came out and it was just what I was looking for after years of fast paced multiplayer fps. If you enjoy it for what it is, a slow paced realistic shooter, you will have a great time.
The biggest thing about the Metro series, to me, was the ambiance. Even the earlier games in the series, while not looking THAT great, were INSANELY immersive!
Witcher 3 is the best game of all time followed by RDR2. Witcher 3 was already a masterpiece but the DLC expansion passes just send it to another level. I don’t think we’ll ever experience a game as good as these two in our lifetimes.

Prototype and infamous series, despite being old are pretty fun ... And if you can , try to play Dark messiah, overlord and vampire masquerade bloodlines 1&2
well chill, everybody knows about souls games I think there's no need to mention them everywhere, especially since this list is not a definitive one. Everybody plays souls game nowadays so it's nice to see some other options as well
Excluding Cyberpunk 2077 was a crime in this. Witcher 3 was absolutely astonishing and deserves to be on here, but so does CP2077. The world CDPR built was immaculate and deserves more recognition, especially since they fixed a lot of the game. (Witcher 3 was also extremely buggy at launch but turned out amazing)
Ghost of tsushima yet again getting its balls undeservedly massaged yet no cyberpunk. Yet I abandoned ghost after 10 hours as it was so boring but am currently on my 3rd cyberpunk playthrough with over 250 hours and not even close to being bored even though it's my 3rd playthrough.
@@Helryth yet people are doing multiple playthroughs. I can't understand why. After the first 10 or so hours you've seen everything the game has to offer and what it offers isn't entertaining.

Went in expecting something spectacular, to be blown away but instead I got a generic open world game wrapped in a very pretty bow. I said it's a 7/10 game that's managed to fool everyone into thinking it's a 10/10 game. Cyberpunk is the best game I've ever played, hands down.
If your going to play metro exodus and I cant stess this enough please play them in the order of the story. it makes the whole story so much better. In cronological order: 2033, last light, and exodus.
Just beat RE4 remake, and what a remake it is. Really enjoyed that game. Im playing the Witcher 3 now. The story is great, the next gen update really polished the environment. The inventory, alchemy, and builds was a little confusing at the start. Took me longer than I care to admit to get a grasp on it all. Will be finishing it though.

It is beyond perfection and in my opinion that is the reason it’s the best game of all time because the DLC just pushes it into a realm of its own. I love Elden ring and gonna play the new DLC soon too but that DLC and any other DLC never had a chance compared to Witcher 3 DLC. Just talking about the game makes me want to play again lol.
God of war is just a generational masterpiece from gow 1,gow 2,Gow chains of olympus, gow ghost of Sparta, Gow ascension, gow 3,gow 4 and gow ragnarok I've played all of them atleast 3 times.
Nobody really gonna care about this game but it deserves more love - Turbo Overkill, I completed it recently, boyyyyyy! That game might just be the *coolest* fkin video game I've ever played.

Can confirm, you don’t need the others to enjoy the game. Only the first scene is a bit confusing because it starts where the last game ends but after that it’s all a new independent arc.
It’s too bad they don’t sell Spec Ops The Line anymore. Got pulled several months back due to song licenses running out. I have it on XBox but found out when I tried to pick it up for PC. Would have loved a remaster of that one at some point but it’s prob lost to time now.
Sorry but no to metro exodus it's biggest flaw is your character. You are silent throughout the game but in-between areas your character talks. The immersion kind gets ruined not to mention the only way to get a good ending is to almost never kill. A game that locks you out of a good ending due to play style is a big nope for me.
@@RicFF13 this is not a RPG it's a fps more than anything else. Killing a single guy shouldn't cause you to have a bad ending especially if said guy is trying to kill you or is a evil douche lol.

I don’t know about Resident Evil 4 but for Witcher 3 it is kind of like its own independent story with a soft reboot. Only in the very beginning I was a bit confused since it starts off where the second game finished and there’s some scenes about that but after that, it’s smooth sailing so you don’t need to worry about Witcher 1 or 2. I played it without playing the previous ones and it didn’t impact the experience at all
I really, really wanted to love RDR2 But the slow cinematic movement absolutely kills it for me. It takes forever to loot and it just gets so frustrating.

This is just what I don’t want to see more of: melee and forced groups. I would really like to see a “Sniper Elite” or “Assassin’s Creed” lone archer (crossbow) doing his missions. There is a reason why Skyrim and Fallout are so popular: first person real time. Skyrim has lots of melee but many players choose a lone stealth archer. Let the player choose whether solo or groups just like gender. Why is stealth to kill everyone in sight. There should be pride in doing missions without the bad guys even know you came through. Read the title. It's about games with a good story. People like Skyrim because it's fun to explore, but the writing is horrendous just like in any other Bethesda RPG.
I could not get into Yakuza series, God of War or Red Dead Redemption... I have put in considerable hours in each game around 15... and was not entertained. They do seem like a high quality games and clearly lots of effort has been put in.... but... I'm bored when I play them.
metro isnt that good tbh its linear and the story is very predictable, the gameplay is also very niche, do not reccomend unless all you care about is static graphics with no dynamics
Playing a really good story game is like watching a really good movie that you can immerse yourself in even further.

Finaly fantasy 7 was a big disappointment due to every enemy having INSANE hyper armor
