RDR2 is a masterpiece. Best game I have ever played. Witcher 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Zelda BotW and TotK, and God of War are all among my favorites as well.

Man, I finished the metro series this spring. Im so sad I cant play it over again for the first time. I just finished The last of us 1 today (1st playthrough) and I feel empty again
Its not easy to make TOP 5 games ever. Metro Exodus surely was amazing experience with great story. I felt like all characters were my friends, and after the game ended that was just sad feeling for me. I have never feel something like that, except Witcher 3 and Metro Exodus.

Rdr2, Witcher 3, Elden Eing, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Sekiro, DS3. These were the best of the best for me both from replayability and story perspective. GTA San Andreas, Total Overdose, Prince of Persia series (trio), Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Future Tactics, Prototype 1 & 2 are nostalgia, thus favorites.

Really glad you put skyrim in top 5 as perfect game. Imagine a game that give you so much freedom, you can join the civil war, join brotherhood or rally them, become a college student(not really much a student lol), join vampire group or annihilate them, build a house for your spouse and children. I dont really know how to describe that freedom which we dont have in the current era games.

of all the games on the list none of them have bored me as much as kingdom come...the game came out how long ago and you can't even play it at max settings with a 4090 at 4k...it's not worth the disc space. gpu requirements. for a pc gamer when you compare them to the other ones...This guy did good with this list...I wholehearredly agree with everyone he picked that' I've played so for and totally plan on playing the 2 that I haven't played

A game is maybe boring because of weak storytelling or a repetitive combat system, but not because you couldn't play it on max setting. You sir are full of 💩💩. I know exactly why you didn't like it cuz it was too complex for you to understand the philosophy and the system behind the game. In this game, in the beginning, you are just a nobody blacksmith son with no skills whatsoever(the only thing you could do was walk upright😅), and to gain them, you had to really train hard af. That meant that until you cracked a lock or could shoot an arrow straight you failed a lot of your attempts miserably, like in real life. You weren't a superhero that, after 2-3 tries, already mastered it. That game, in my opinion, is a true RPG with a heavy learning curve. Only gamers with patience and skills can really appreciate it. So go back to your walking sim where the game takes your hand 24/7 so you do not have to use your brain or your gaming skills

i can relate to this list but as an "older" gamer i missed sooo many games from my younger years :D Kingdom Hearts 1&2, i spend days after days playing this game, collecting all the stuff, side quests and such things *-* Secret of Mana with its (for the time) insane Storyline and storytelling, the combat system alone was new for the time :D

I would definitely add Horizon Zero Dawn to this list. The storyline in my opinion was on par if exceeds Forbidden West, and the new remastered version brings its graphics up to those in Fornbidden West.
from this list, I've played RDR2, Skyrim and I've watched TLOU Lets Plays for many hours.... though more storywise than gameplay wise.... I'm 38 years old, so I played many masterpieces that came before those in your list like MGS1, Oblivion, Half Life 1&2, ...
This is a very well done list....all of these games I could replay and the only 2 I haven't played I plan to because I have them and just haven't had the time to get to them...like the fact that all of these games came out in like a 5 year span and I have most of them installed on a 4090 rig or my ps5 it makes it hard to focus on and beat a single game in general now

Gears of War, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy 7, Perfect Dark, Resident Evil 2 remake, Forza Horizon 5, Persona 5 Royal, Wasteland 3. This is a 10/10 games.
All of the perfect 10/10 games are only from the last 15 years? I mean, that's your opinion, but you're missing out on older games that are still considered timeless, like GTA Vice City and San Andreas, Star Wars KOTOR, the OG Star Wars Battlefront 2, the OG Resident Evil 4, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Souce, Half-Life 1 and 2, the OG Final Fantasy 7, Devil May Cry 3, Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, many 90's and early 2000's fighting games are still as much of a 10/10 now as they were then etc. etc. I could go on for longer.

Apparently what makes a game perfect is being a souls-like or open-world game. The only game I thought was perfect up here was ME2. Maybe Baldur's Gate 3. What a different world I'd live in if I liked smashy/dodgy action combat; so many games are Batman Arkham Asylum combat.

I recommend you play a ff game. They are masterpieces, the story's the characters, the combat, the music, the graphics are all so good. If you are gonna play one I recommend you play ff7 remake or ff16 first. Because they are great beginner games.
@@Sonicsemie It’s because it’s objectively not a masterpiece. Let’s look at the very bland, generic, boring, sidequests for example. Or world exploring that is literally non-existent. And don’t get me started on the lack of development of some main characters (Jill for instance). Too many flaws to be a masterpiece. The average player and the critics agree with that. On steam it has only a rating of 77% if you look (and that’s a bad rating - the average rating of a game on Steam being 85).
@@arkeez1181 well I can agree with you on the side quests. Maybe 7 out of the 70 side quests where actually enjoying but for the rest they were pretty bare bones yeah. All that aside, I thought the semi open world areas were fine but nothing too great. But you can't say the characters were bere bones. The characters made me so invested that I cried at the end. No other games had achieved that for me. So yeah I agree with some takes but for the rest its an absolute masterpiece.
Thank you for this list, it consist all of my most favourite games. Just want to mention Nioh 2 and Hogwarts Legacy as games that also deserve attention. I highly recommend them.
My only comment would be for Skyrim. I enjoyed Oblivion and Morrowind very much. But Skyrim watered down or removed some great mechanics. The vanilla flavour of Skyrim is the only item that I would like to mention. The modding community fixed a lot of the issues that I had with the game. I am not a fan of levelled open world games. Thank goodness there are mods to fix this.

It’s not different in the nature of it, but Witcher 3 has incredible combat. I would 100% suggest you get it, it’s a MASSIVE improvement over 1 and 2

I would definitely add Horizon Zero Dawn to this list. The storyline in my opinion was on par if exceeds Forbidden West, and the new remastered version brings its graphics up to those in Fornbidden West.
from this list, I've played RDR2, Skyrim and I've watched TLOU Lets Plays for many hours.... though more storywise than gameplay wise....
I'm 38 years old, so I played many masterpieces that came before those in your list like MGS1, Oblivion, Half Life 1&2, ...

This is a very well done list....all of these games I could replay and the only 2 I haven't played I plan to because I have them and just haven't had the time to get to them...like the fact that all of these games came out in like a 5 year span and I have most of them installed on a 4090 rig or my ps5 it makes it hard to focus on and beat a single game in general now

Gears of War, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy 7, Perfect Dark, Resident Evil 2 remake, Forza Horizon 5, Persona 5 Royal, Wasteland 3. This is a 10/10 games.

Check out Outer Wilds. Legitimately one of the best games you could ever play period. Doesn't matter which genre you prefer.
No competitive games, no simuilation, strategy or racing games, this list is just for story rich 1st/3rd person solo games.

All of the perfect 10/10 games are only from the last 15 years? I mean, that's your opinion, but you're missing out on older games that are still considered timeless, like GTA Vice City and San Andreas, Star Wars KOTOR, the OG Star Wars Battlefront 2, the OG Resident Evil 4, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Souce, Half-Life 1 and 2, the OG Final Fantasy 7, Devil May Cry 3, Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, many 90's and early 2000's fighting games are still as much of a 10/10 now as they were then etc. etc. I could go on for longer.
He doesn't say at any point that this are the only 10/10 games, but i agree that are a lot of games that should have been mentioned instead of others in the list
These are the games you must play. And many older games while being masterpieces hewn in the history of video games are just too ... old to try now.
Yes but if people back then enjoyed them despite it's flaws, I don't see why we shouldn't play it now too. In fact I grew up playing really low graphics games due to my PC being really bad even though the games released while I was growing up could be considered modern games. @@AlexCatable

Apparently what makes a game perfect is being a souls-like or open-world game. The only game I thought was perfect up here was ME2. Maybe Baldur's Gate 3.

I recommend you play a ff game. They are masterpieces, the story's the characters, the combat, the music, the graphics are all so good. If you are gonna play one I recommend you play ff7 remake or ff16 first. Because they are great beginner games.

Let’s look at the very bland, generic, boring, sidequests for example. Or world exploring that is literally non-existent. And don’t get me started on the lack of development of some main characters (Jill for instance).
Too many flaws to be a masterpiece. The average player and the critics agree with that. On steam it has only a rating of 77% if you look (and that’s a bad rating - the average rating of a game on Steam being 85).
@@arkeez1181 well I can agree with you on the side quests. Maybe 7 out of the 70 side quests where actually enjoying but for the rest they were pretty bare bones yeah. All that aside, I thought the semi open world areas were fine but nothing too great. But you can't say the characters were bere bones. The characters made me so invested that I cried at the end. No other games had achieved that for me. So yeah I agree with some takes but for the rest its an absolute masterpiece.

Thank you for this list, it consist all of my most favourite games. Just want to mention Nioh 2 and Hogwarts Legacy as games that also deserve attention. I highly recommend them.
My only comment would be for Skyrim. I enjoyed Oblivion and Morrowind very much. But Skyrim watered down or removed some great mechanics. The vanilla flavour of Skyrim is the only item that I would like to mention. The modding community fixed a lot of the issues that I had with the game. I am not a fan of levelled open world games. Thank goodness there are mods to fix this.

@@rejectxzthe thing is, once you really get a good understanding of baldurs gate 3 combat, with a good build/gear it’s some of the most fun rewarding gameplay around, the amount of choice is staggering… just watch luality and see some of the shenanigans she gets up to 😂

There isn't a single Final Fantasy game. And I didn't even think about the rest. If you say this is a correct list of MUST play games, I would say it's at least incomplete
