    Finally some well deserved love for AC Unity. This game is amazing. The Bugs at launch were primarily in the co op mode for me atleast. The Single-Player was absolutely amazing.

      @@SpealerI always thought that's a big part of what GTA is all about big, high action heists and conspiracies with long setups where your sneaking in places undercover to do purposefully boring ordinary jobs while your scoping places out and gathering intel, like mopping floors at Life Invader etc. And some of the best parts of San Andreas was the mundane life sim elements like going to the gym!

      Good stealth would require AI that doesn't just idly watch as you stab every living thing in its line of sight and then waits for you to walk up to them and stab them too. It's ridiculous how they don't react to anything whatsoever, you can just stab whoever you want whenever you want with impunity.

    The issue I had with GTA 5 was not the mundane missions, but the fact that you essentially have no money until the game is over.
    Utilizing the stock market you can have more money than you would ever need but that means playing through all of the missions with very few upgrades. Then once you have all the fruits of your labor, there’s not much to do with them besides the few side quests you never got around to.

    Idk how hard it would be to fill out the list, but it would be cool to see a list of games like Unity, that are regarded much better now. As someone who is playing a lot of "older" games because they were out of gaming for a while, relying on research (critic scores, rankings on forums, etc) can hurt such games, because people generally aren't updating from their first takes. Both Spider-Man 2 and Web of Shadows did some nice things with swinging that Marvel's Spider-man just doesn't. Especially the fact that you can't really f up swings close to the ground or do loops even when technically fast enough are a bit sad. I will say, however, that Marvel's Spider-Man is a lot better in the MJ department than its successor at least.

The characters are real people you've grow attached to and follow through to a deeply-satisfying (or tragic) conclusion. The love scenarios are some of the best and deepest you can find. The climax to long-building story arcs (like the Genophage) are incredibly emotional. And the Citadel DLC Mission/Party might be the most joyful few hours in all of gaming.

    Playing Tears of the Kingdom is a truly _wild_ experience. It totally renders Botw the tech demo that it really was.
    The ''map being re-used'' is a _very loose_ term: I just went back on a 2nd re-play in the Goron region and was shocked at how different it was from the bland, poorly directed main Quest of the 1st game. A _much_ more solid Main Quest story, the whole Structure of the mountain reminded me much more of Ocarina's. Now, nearly _every_ enemy you defeat has a purpose!

    • @Forest762
      @Forest762 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But the fact that an entire new game that has the same price as BOTW even has the same stuff is wild and bad. I mean the art style is the same, the world is the same (Yes some new things but its really just the same), the enemys are the same (yeah there are like 4 different enemy types but thats it), bosses are the same (yeah there are like 3 new bosses but thats nothing). It also has the same problem that BOTW had, everything is repetitive and going somewhere doesnt feel special cuz you can get the same stuff you get there somewhere else (Elden ring as an Example has Special items in like caves or smth that only exist there). The sky disappointed me cuz the Island you start at is the only big one, the others are small and also repetitive. The underground is just a copy and paste mess where no location feels different and it doesnt have a purpose (No quests, no tree creatures, and just the same enemys in red smoke (There is 1 new boss in the underground but thats it). After seeing the gameplay trailer i thought i would be a lot on those sky islands and that being pushed down is something you have to care about, but the whole sky is useless and i never got pushed down. It would be "Ok" if it was an Dlc for like 30$ but an ENTIRE NEW GAME for FULL PRICE is just ridiculous. But its alright if you like the game and i respect your opinion 👍👍

    I think for me, the first game that comes to mind when it comes to neeeearly a masterpiece is Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. A game that I absolutely adore from it's art style, music, combat, lore, damn near everything about it is not only perfect, but outstanding. The big flaw with it imo is the world and map....it just wasn't fun to explore. Even though I thought the combat system and traversal was awesome and unique (I'm also a big fan of the metroidvania genre), it just didn't have that "this is a real world and I'm just exploring it" feel that games like Hollow Knight or the Ori series had.
    I'm really hoping for a sequel to that game that keeps all that made the original awesome, but just takes it in a more creative direction with the map, level layout, and world.

    Alien Isolation for me. The details, the atmosphere, the Alien, was perfect. They hit it out of the park with all of it. However, the ending left me annoyed. We know Amanda survives but I really wished they had gone for a much less ambiguous ending.

    I tried playing Unity back in 2018, 4 years after it launched. Maybe it was just because it was on Ubisoft's Uplay platform instead of Steam, but the game still had that buggy "NPC stuck in physical object" issue. I tried again in 2020, and it was fine, but it still stands out in my mind that even 4 years later, they hadn't fixed the game on their own platform!

    I’d got Cyberpunk 2077 on launch for ps5. Had none of the issues that were advertised apart from one that made it game breaking, a certain NPC didn’t appear at a location to propel the story forward. I had to change my character choice to Nomad to then replay the section and get past it.
    CDPR was in contact with me daily to help sort the issue out for weeks. Great tech. Support and I had the game refunded.

    Unity was the perfect bridge between the gameplay style of the older games (Everything up until Rogue) and the new games (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla.) Progression was a lot slower. Instead of all enemies having the same health and damage output depending on their archetype, the more dangerous districts had enemies with health and damage to match. You couldn't just blaze through all the better paying Paris Stories from the start, unless you wanted combat to be a long and painful affair where a single slip up meant game over.

    I think everything you said about Spiderman was wrong. The fact that the open world chores slowly opened themselves and didn't clutter the screen like say all other games do specially Ubisoft; I think that was amazing. And on the other hand when you say the game stop for you to do things is only because maybe as a reviewer you're suppose to play the game as fast as possible but as a gamer the first thing I did when I unlocked a mini game was finished it before the attacking the other story that way I will always be over prepared and wouldn't have things pending. I think the place it really fell was bringing the same things again in the DLCs. Once I finished the main game I did not want to redo these side missions.
