      It depends on what your horsepower is and what pump configuration you want. If your truck is a p-pump year and if you want a pump with filters, the TSD10140G is a 140 gallon per hour pump that bypasses the factory lift pump. It produces 45psi of lift pump pressure and can support up to 700HP. There are several pumps available for those year trucks so give us a call at 859-737-4966 and we can get you what you need.

      Always a good upgrade for air separation, positive fuel flow and increase filtration.

    Why did they remove the water separator drain valve?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The extreme water separator now traps the water particles to keep them from being able to pass to the fuel injection system.

      And to make it so you have to buy a filter if you get some bad fuel vs just draining the water...

      Christopher Dickinson I think AirDog still has the drain valve on the water filter.

      If you have a grey base pump the new filters are direct bolt on.

    So no water draining capabilities on the initial water separator side? I got a CAT 1R-0750 and a 175-2949 on the way. How do these new filters from FASS stack up. I purchased the CATs thinking the old FASS filters were coming with the TS D08-095G kit I just purchased since they were rated at 3 Micron compared to the 1R-0750 at 2.

    Man.am.i confused , I have the titanium series 150 , I got the new filters from my shop (they didn't have the old ones) need to know which one of the new filters go on the suction side

      For your truck, its really only the wording that gets a little tricky. Now what they are calling the “fuel filter” actually goes in the water separator position, or closest to the “IN” or “TANK” port. The new water separator is actually taking care of the majority of the filtering and it goes in the filter position. TO make a long story short, you basically reverse them.

    I'm having a difficult time understanding the pro's and con's of FASS filters and the in-tank Fleece PowerFlo filters. Can you provide any information that would help me determine which is best for my application?

    So for us platinum 150 guys, the new filter replaces the fws 3003 correct? No water draining anymore?

  • @Yukonjackman1

    I have a fass pump the latest and I won't use a closed water separator, no warning engine just stops not good on a downhill drive.

    My FASS titanium 125G bypass pump failed after only 40k miles - and 6k miles after swapping to new filters, on 15 Powerstroke... Now I carry a spare pump motor which I had to pay $375 for... The filters work and I am a fan of air separation.... But I would highly recommend carrying a spare pump if you can't be down for a few days...

    Little much to take in so I can only imagine how much time it took to set that presentation up. With the new pumps am I able to still use Cat filters or did they come out with their own thread size/pitch that nobody else is using to force you into a marriage? I use Cat filters and water separators because I can find them at any truck stop in the country.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a lot and they have made several design changes over the years as you can see. All pumps, except for the original red base HD model with big filter are 1”-14 threads. The red base big filter pump is a 1.5”-16 thread for the FUEL FILTER only. Yes, you can still use the filters that are acceptable as cross overs however the newest pump, whisper series, is designed to run with their new style filters.

    I guess no problems with the engine stoping on a downgrade hill right air pump will keep pumping with the engine stoping right I guess no warning when it's about to stop the flow of fuel doesn't sound safe to me.

    • @Rich-ni2ol
      @Rich-ni2ol 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the dip straw and you are under an 1/8 or 1/4 tank(depends on grade %) then yes, the pump will suck air and eventually kill the motor. Install a low pressure fuel pressure guage to monitor if the pump is getting fuel or not and learn the '1/4 is empty' rule and you'll be fine.
