    Great info thanks , just ordered these the other day . Should have them Tuesday. What is the priming process like with the new filters?

    I have the old red 95 fass pump. The pick up tube for the old filters is to long to use with the new filters. Is there a way to remove this pick up tube and does it no longer need a another one?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      FASS suggests cutting that tube to if you plan to not go back to the old filters.

    Will this FAAS set up work on a 2002 F350 stock 7.3? And still keep the fuel bowl?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Current FASS pumps bypass the stock lift pump but retain the stock fuel bowl.

    Thanks..A much better explanation than I got from the Fass people. They either don't know how their own products work or were trying to hide it talking like a politician.

    If your running Cat filters or any other brand of filter besides fass filters will the water separator need to go in the same orientation as mentioned with new orientation fass has done with the new pump?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, and that is a good question. The ONLY time you use the orientation of the water separator as mentioned in this video is with the FASS BRANDED FILTERS. If you are using conventional style filters, (baldwin, wix, cat, etc.) you must orient them with the water separator on the intake side of pump, and the fuel filter below the output side.

    What filter do you use to bleed the system?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The filter closest to the suction side of the pump is the one you leave loose.

    I have the new filters on a black series pump. Looking to get a Cat 1R-0750 and a water separator with a drain on the bottom. Will these work in my Tit series TS D07 165G. If so where do i place them relative to the pump.

    Question, is a pressure gauge recommended to determine when a filter change is needed? Just installed the new pump with those filters.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A pressure gauge would be a good addition when running these filters.

    Which position do I orient the new filters on my old pump , I have the Grey base fass pump , I used the diagram on the side of the filters , and now they seem reversed , any help will be appreciated

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the new filters, the water separator now goes in the fuel filter position, and the fuel filter goes where the water separator was.

    • @davidsawmandave8731
      @davidsawmandave8731 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I'm not too sure about these new filters I think I'd like to have it the old way back where you can drain the water off the fuel filter any good recommendations to get it back the old way would be appreciated

    Thanks for that info Wade. I'm down-under (Australia) and have just ordered two of each of those new filters for my 2012 Silverado (Titanium 150 fitted, Beans Sump on a Titan 57 gallon tank). To get the four filters here to Australia is costing me $227- (including freight and local taxes etc)......our dollar ain't worth squat compared to your healthy currency!!! hahaha

      This is the only video I've found on the subject of the NEWEST FASS Titanium SS pumps. I just bought a TS D08 095G for my early 04 5.9 24v and I guess they either arent including install instructions or they just forgot to include them with mine. So I went online to download install instructions. Of course they showed the filters mounting in the conventional way, with water separator first/closest to tank. Thank God this video cleared that up for me.
      Next issue, the wiring harness. My FASS 95 came with a WH 1006 harness that makes you tie into a fuse port in the fuse box. A PIA when 99% of the ports cant be used due to relays being in the way of plugging this thing in. Also, there is NO info on how to properly disable/unplug the old stock lift pump on side of engine at fuel canister. So I'm left wondering if I just unplug wire to old fuel pump and then must I leave fuel heater plugged in and water-in-fuel sensor plug hooked up???
      I am just wondering why didn't FASS send a WH 1002 or 1004 harness which is plug and play and plugs right in to my existing ecm plug that my old lift pump used?
      Can anyone tell me if perhaps I got the wrong harness with mine? Box says its a 98.5-04.5 FASS with Feb 2019 mfg date.
      You guys seem to be the only people on the net that know about this and are possibly reachable over the weekend. I need help now if anyone is out there.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using the new style filters position the filters according to the drawing on the filter. Fuel filter on the suction side, water separator on the pressure side.

    Will This Filter Will Work As A Replacement
    For FF-3003. FF-1001
    Will It Threads On The Old Pump

    I have a 2006 lbz with a fass pump with the serial number t-104482. The last time I got a fuel filter I got a Donaldson p-551313 today I went in and my local diesel shop gave me a xws-3002. I noticed it's a bit smaller then my old filter. My question is is this the right filter. Also I had a extra fs-1001 is this still okay to use or should I get the new filter for the side as well?

    What would cause my pump fuse to blow? It’s happened 3 times.. I finally checked my water separator filter it was filled with water. Would this cause my pump to blow it seems to be running fine now. My truck was getting starved of fuel.

    • @jayewing6251
      @jayewing6251 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it keeps blowing the fuse keeps blowing out its either a short in the wiring or your pump could be going bad thats what happend to my last pump the motor took a shit an had to get a new pump

      The grey base titaniums will accept the new filters. The XWS filter will go in place of the fuel filter and vice versa. Blue base you will need to do the nipple replacement on the fuel filter side, then run the XWS filter there, FS2001 on the water separator side.

      The design of this filter is to save your expensive fuel system from damaging water if you get a bad load of fuel. The tow will be much less expensive that replacing the entire fuel system potentially.

    It's a nice system but the new whisper series makes a weird chirping noise when its bypassing air through the gear back to the tank. They said it's normal in a video I sent them but to me it sounds like cavitation. If you're interested in hearing what I'm talking about drop your email in the reply and I'll send you the video
