In some citied in California, If installed in garage, the city code will require it to be installed 3 ft from the floor because they dont want cars parking in the garage accidentally hitting the powerwall & potentially damaging it which will possibly result in a house fire during impact or a fire hours later due to a damaged battery. (imagine a fire starting in your garage while the whole family is asleep) in general people hate code inspectors because their objections delay projects, but i totally understand where they're coming from. They're #1 priority is safety. Majority of the public just dont realize that & demonize the inspectors. I even thank them for making sure the electricians & installers don't cut corners & do a thorough, proper & safe job.
Yep installed two Tesla PW2's in 2018 to complement our 2012 13.2 kW solar PV system, and have been exceptionally satisfied with their performance during power outages and to enable us to be a microgrid for ~8 months of the year. With the Powerwalls we export ~50% of our excess solar back to grid after powering our all electric home, and charging two EVs.

Ngl, I was actually considering this, as I wanted something that works with grid tired solar, and there doesn't seem to be many options. However after deeing SO many advertisements in the guise of regular videos on TH-cam from a wide range of TH-camrs, with only a select few actually having any real experience with the product, I'm second guessing the product. If it was good, why does Anker feel the need to blast it across TH-cam in these paid videos, effectively buying ad space?

Personally, I like that companies have realized the value of TH-cam creators. Especially when it makes it so good honest down to earth people like Chris prosper from it.
What's the price on it? Its peak and continuous output is very low relative to the powerwall 3, and it has 5kwh of storage, vs the 13.5kwh. To be competitive, one must assume it sits well below $5k, probably closer to $3k.

i waited four years? how is that even possible? & why is it taking so long? the only hold up i can think of is if you havent met the criteria for Tesla to install the Powerwalls. You have to have a safe & appropriate place for the Powerwalls to be installed is one of the things i can think of at the top of my head. From ordering online to fully installed & operational only took me 4 months. (Tesla Solar Panels & Powerwalls)

You have to get a quote because it depends on local install prices, but you should be able to get a quote without any commitment. I've noticed Anker prices vary greatly depending on the product category, but I have a lot of Anker stuff I've bought myself and I'm always satisfied.
But can you use it to charge and power your house at night, and not charge while still powering your home during the day - without solar. I want to use it to only charge during off peak, while providing power during both off peak and peak. This seams to be a rare feature if you're not also using solar.
How about Tesla? A company that doesn't just sell Solar Panels & Home Battery Storage, but a company that is leading in EV sales. Cant get anymore "reliable" than that.

The Anker ones have portability in mind, which is nice. One of my hold ups for putting a battery bank in my RV is the cost VS usability. With the Anker I was looking at I can use it in the RV or out camping just the same since it's more like a generator.
I have 24 solar panels on my home and garage but I have no storage panel’s to service my home. I am in Iowa and have not been able to contact anyone to service me. dclan

I have been waiting 4 years now for Tesla to install my Powerwalls, added to our existing Tesla solar install.
