    You can drape a microfiber towel over snow broom and secure it with rubber bands for extra scratch protection.

    This was a really fun video to watch! Very cool to see the ITS (and its owner) having fun while playing in the snow. When I had my Accord coupe, I’d often start off in second to cut wheel spin (even with winter tires, the V6 put a lot of power through only two wheels in first gear). I sold the Accord this fall and while I thought hard about the Integra, went instead with a 2020 TLX with SH-AWD. I put a set of Nokian tires on it, and the thing is a monster in the snow. The biggest concern is getting high-centered, although so far, that hasn’t happened. Snow plow mode, engage!

    • @PlasmadaeDal
      @PlasmadaeDal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good to hear from you again! Yes, we are doing great 👍 I do agree that as soon as 2nd is engaged, you get some good traction and momentum. I can imagine the amazing handling in the TLX! I've driven that car, and it is a sweet and comfortable ride! With snow tires, truly unstoppable, and clearance, it's probably the only limiting factor. Plow mode, though, sounds like you're hitting it! Did you ever get a chance to drive the "Wintegra Type S"? ;)

      @@PlasmadaeDal I didn’t have a chance to test drive the Wintegra Type S 🤣. I did drive an A-Spec, and really liked it, but the 2020 TLX offered me a bit more “bang for the buck” than the Integra in my budget. I’ll keep living the Integra life vicariously through your videos, though!! (Your audience might want to see another A-Spec video soon, though… hint, hint… 😉)

      @theopenroadahead7301 When you have a chance, go take a drive and see what you think! It's a completely different car than the Aspec, but I live that Aspec still...it's such a smooth ride and the headrest is super cushy! I also did do an Aspec video alongside this one, but it was just a pro tip:

    I have the Performance Red Pearl version and I love it. I had the X-Ice on my Civic, but since this car comes with Summer only tires, I was concerned about Spring and Fall. I decided to go with the CrossClimate 2 and so far, it seems to be working out pretty well for me.

      I am running 18X8.5. We didn't want to go a full 19" because we wanted a taller sidewall for more forgiveness for potholes and whatnot. For the snow, you dont need the full width that comes OEM, plenty of traction and surface with 8.5. The actual tire size is 245/40/R18
      On the back of the rims, you'll want to make note: 35 - 5X120

    So I live in Canada and have been thinking about awd hatchbacks, specifically the golf R but I've always liked the integra type s more. If only it had awd. But seeing yours through this snow, I've realized it's not bad at all with the proper setup. I guess I should go with type s and go with my heart haha

    • @PlasmadaeDal
      @PlasmadaeDal  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @patrick0uch I think your heart will tell you the right choice, so let it speak to you. . I'd go test drive both so you'll never wonder, but the Integra Type S is an amazing handler in the snow. AWD has its advantages, like being able to traverse some roads that require AWad or 4WD. Even with snow tires, some passes won't let you through, so all depends.
      The limiting factor is clearance, but the Golf R has only a tiny, tiny bit more under the car. If I had my choice, I know which I'd choose, but you will definitely NOT regret Teggy S! It's amazing in the snow with snow tires. I wouldn't mind a lift kit of some sort if you drove this car all year round 😀

    Hello from Montreal, your video shows you that four wheel drive is not necessary but front wheel drive is especially with snow tires. Up here in Quebec, snow tires are mandatory from December to April. Winter tires are great in that fluffy snow but they are designed with softer rubber so on the next day when the black ice rears its dirty head you’ll get some good grip. You can also find some excellent winter tires that are quieter than your old school type when the snow is gone but temperature is still cold.
    I have a RDX but I am thinking about an Integra type S.

    • @PlasmadaeDal
      @PlasmadaeDal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Glad you were able to check this out! Yeah, these X-ICE have a lot of grip and the sipes are plentiful to the point that it is seriously a PLUSH ride haha! When I put it in Comfort Mode, it's pretty nuts just how much more cushy it gets! I've driven the RDX and really like the ride, but for fun I prefer the Itegra Type R because you're engaged that much more with the 6-speed transmission . The RDX engine is fantastic, and you will be pleased to have a similar 2 liter engine in Teggy S! Seriously fun!
      We've had some icy conditions as well and these tires do grip MUCH better than their summer tires, which are useless on ice as you'd expect, but slowing the speeds, these are fairly high performers :) Thanks for watching!

    Fun video! What is "traction control" for? My Honda Sport Touring doesn't want to leave its warm garage 🙂

    • @PlasmadaeDal
      @PlasmadaeDal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Traction control is so you don't ever peel out too much. It reduces the torque applied to the wheels. That's why you'll have so many disable it in a 0-60 attempt. Personally, I do it to have maximum torque available so I can control in slippery conditions. Many times whatll happen in snow is you'll apply the gas to the pedal, the car senses slippage, and stops power, so you actually end up losing traction and end up.slipping lol. Crazy little bit of irony there, eh? My 98 Inegra GS-R doesn't have this, so you don't need to turn it off. In newer cars they do it so you'll have a more controlled acceleration and keep people safer. I leave it on, unless I'm in crazy snow, because traction control can sometimes make controlling the car unpredictable.
      If you put some Michelin X-Ice or Blizzaks on your Sport Touring, you'll be blown away at how much fun it can be driving in the snow. Safety is increased too, because you have TONS more Traction. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed!

      You should get paid by Michelin for a great Winter tire ad.

    • @PlasmadaeDal
      @PlasmadaeDal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thomasholleran9306 Snow mode will be a much more subdued ride. Some people have a tendency to SLAM the gas pedal and in winter, that's not a great strategy because you'll be sliding all over, so snow mode will ease up the initial torque and help you avoid slippage.
      I don't trust snow mode entirely, so I will just pay attention in snow. Next time you go out driving, Slam the gas in normal mode, then switch to snow mode and Slam it, and see how it responds ;)

      Early on on the video I was going up.a very icy road, but the integra powered through it. There are varying degrees of ice,.ranging from slippery slush, to black ice and I've done it all with these tires. Black ice there is only one thing that can save you....speed....that is, slowing it down a lot. These tires offer Supreme traction on ice, and slippery surfaces and on the black ice that I did encounter, luckily I wasn't going too fast and these tires stopped in time. The summer tires would have been useless in comparison.

    Well, I am sad to report that the Red Pearl blew out a tire on Saturday morning. Hit a submerged pot hole on the Interstate. It felt like I had been punched, it hit hard, Tire pressure seemed to stay up, but slight vibration was getting worse when I arrived. After my appointment it was raining hard, and the tires that always look kinda flat had one that looked more than kinda flat. Rim almost touching the pavement.
    Ok, after calming myself with self talk, I got out the tire inflater device, and used it as instructed. It actually worked rather well; you could watch the pressure increase from the display. I was surprised it worked, so I stared out. Started dropping pressure soon and began to look for tire store. Haha, found one within 5 miles. The tire guy showed me the tire, blown out on side wall. So, I called Acura Roadside- told at least two hours. So bought a used tire, the tire guy wisely rotated it to the rear wheel, and to the dealership ( 50 miles away).
    They said the tire would need to be ordered and they will inspect the wheel.
    Now, when I bought the car I did something that may have been wise. ...I bought a service contract for tires and wheels. It was expensive! I think it was about 2700 for 5 years. Sounds expensive but the ILX taught me well. Owned five years and I had to replace three wheels and had to have two repaired. Additionally 4 tires needed to replaced before the end of their service life. I did get a cool loaner- a 2024 RDX, very different than the ITS. See ya...

      Wow! What are the odds?!! I am sorry to hear you had an incident. The first reported Teggy Tire Tussle to my knowledge! I am glad to hear you are OK, but man! What a pain! Sounds like your insurance is paying off so far.
      The RDX is a great vehicle, but you will be glad to get your Integra back, I'm sure. We went with 18" rims for winter driving so that we could have a bigger buffer. This was my insurance policy, so to speak and hope we don't need to make a claim, but so far so good.
      Crazy though, because in combination with the soft rubber, it's like the Integra got a new, and more plush "Comfort Mode". Stay safe out there, my friend!

Snow would seem like sui-slide, I love your videos on snow, and I am impressed how well your Teggy does. That was a lot of snow from this Tennessean's perspective, It can happen where I live but is very rare. My ILX with Michelin All Season works pretty good in the snow, and it helps keep Integra at home. Anyone thinking about getting a sports car with a manual transmission, go for either the Civic Type R or the Integra Type S.
    Do not go with the VW Golf R.
    VW's are very unreliable, ask me how I know.
    I own one and will never buy another one, valuable lesson learned.

      I'd say that you'll get roughly over 220 miles on a tank, give or take 20 miles, depending on how you drive it. This was winter, so every morning I would warm it up so mileage will vary depending on the type of driving. On my road trip video I posted recently, I got a lot more, but you make more stops because the tank is only 12 Gallons.

    Front wheel is better in snow than rear wheel…

      I agree completely! I'd even say FWD is MORE fun in the snow that AWD! :L😮😂😊

    With all due respect to you, plasmadaedal but that's risky. Not nice to play with fate and your brand new, expensive Integra Type S. 😬😱but your $$$$ your choice.

      I totally get it! But I also have a mission to show the world how amazing the new Integras are, and since a lot of folks will be using it as a daily, wanted to show it's still possible (With the right tires, and extreme caution). Although there's a risk, you can also use this as an opportunity to learn more about the dynamics of handling of this car and helps me appreciate the genius behind Acura, and what level of engineering chops they used with this car :D It's obvious, when driving it, just the alchemy they wield! I will always be extremely careful, though, with Teggy S, for I do love this car quite a bit! Really appreciate your concern, and the flipside is I'll test it so people can know how amazing it is, and leave in the garage if the risk is too high :) Thanks for watching, really appreciate it! 😀
