Welcome! Sit down, stay a while! Here we look at my most favorite things!
Enthusiast for all fun things in life, but most of our videos are on what we love the most...the Acura Integra (although enthusiastic may not fully describe ;) ). Countless hours driving Integras, and they are all beloved, and I am intrigued by the engineering feats that have gone into each one!
*The 1998 Acura Integra GS-R: One of my most favorite and have driven hundreds of thousands of miles in it!
*The 2023 Acura Integra Aspec 6MT: A complete JOY to drive. My videos aim to inform you on all of its strengths...and there are many!
*The 2024 Acura Integra Type S: A shock at just how GOOD it is!
You can count on plenty more information to come from us on this channel, so stay tuned for a lot more fun!
(Especially Integra and Honda stuff 😀)
My goal is to provide fun content that can benefit you and help you smile :)

Acura Integra Type S Full Winter Review - Michelin Tires Continue to Amaze! #acuraintegratypes
Episode 3: How did the Integra do its first Winter, and now headed into its 2nd? This video will use the footage from the last ridiculous snow storm, the aftermath and my final thoughts on how the 2024 Acura Integra Type S performed in the snow.
Of course, if you keep the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on, it will perform abysmally, and would not be recommended AT ALL! But if you want to be able to take your Integra into the Snow, you had better equip Teggy S with some incredible Snow tires!

@@brianjurko9085 please tell me more! I need to know! Inquiring minds need to know! If it's nothing short of amazing, I won't believe it 😜
@ lol it makes some pops and bangs in sport plus but nothing incredible…I’d give it a 5/10 tops IF you like loud exhausts. It’s nowhere near as good as say the ELANTRA N. But they’re not everybody likes and noisy exhaust.
It was chintzy of Acura to not include a metal cover for the left foot rest. I just now bought the Autocovr cover. Thanks for the tip! (The sellers have moved to Ebay; no longer on Etsy.)
Gorgeous roads!!! How have the rain sensing wipers been working for you? Any issues? And how is that alcantara steering wheel holding up as well?
@danlombardi1797 You'll think I'm possibly crazy, but i don't like to use the wipers unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. That means i have the auto rain sensing off. It definitely works great, and I've tested it, but i want to have less scratches in my windshield, so I turn it off and use wipers sparingly. I treat the windshield with a solution that will provide a hydrophobic surface, so that's really my strategy :) For the Alcantara steering wheel, it still looks great! I don't eat in my car and if I do more spirited or intense driving, I put driving gloves on 😀 The gloves actually level up the experience so I love wearing them, but I would do the Alcantara again! 😀 LOVE it and gives it such a premium feel to it.
@@PlasmadaeDal - that's not crazy at all. I remember the first time i used Rain-X back in the 90's and was so impressed!! But after having a car with rain sensing wipers, and going to a car w/o them, I was losing my mind turning the wipers on and off, slowing them down, speeding them up. Hahaha, its silly but it's the little things. And thanks for the alcantara update. I have an OMP alcantara wheel in my Datsun 280z and after a few years its starting to wear away. I try to keep my hands clean and sometimes use gloves, especially when autocrossing the car. But I do know Acura has a warranty on accessories so I guess if it wears away they should replace it. :)
@danlombardi1797 Yep! Even if it did wear off, I'd get a new one--i love it THAT much :) The Datsun! Amazing! You still have that?!

@dougmaverick3287 Yeah! Acura does some of the best headlights. They are super bright and i leave it on auto and never have to worry! Easy peasy!
They should make a type S w/automatic/cvt. I’d buy one for sure.
@esand1231 Yeah! Go drive the TLX Type S! It's an amazing handling, and seriously fun! After driving that car, i was like, "This would be a BEAST in a manual!" Hahah! I could not imagine driving my Type s in the snow here in NY. Shes in the garage under a cover with a battery tender on it next to the streetbikes while i run an old subaru impreza.
@RubbishFPS Hehe, that's fair and respectable. Teggy S is a lot of fun in the snow, but does take some major guts knowing ither people are around...it's definitely a capable snow machine
Who needs all-wheel drive if you've got a good set of snow tires.
@@dougmaverick3287 Seriously! The only time you need it is when the traction law may require AWD or 4WD...but Teggy can do it!
It would have been really nice if the Integra Type S came with all-wheel drive. Anyone thinking about getting a sports car with a manual transmission, go for either the Civic Type R or the Integra Type S. Do not go with the VW Golf R. VW's are very unreliable, ask me how I know. I own one and will never buy another one, valuable lesson learned. If you want a reliable car that you can keep long-term, I would only go Japanese, Toyota and Honda are the two best, Mazda is also good. German cars are the worst.
@dougmaverick3287 Teggy would be amazing in AWD, but i think the dynamics and handling are so fun with FWD, that I don't really want it. FWD is a characteristic trait that is just incredible. Coupled with dual-axis suspension and Limited-Slip Diff, the package is an all-around GEM! Sorry to hear about the Golf R....I've always been curious about that car.
Congratulations 👏🎉... enjoy. ☺️👍
@@steltoronto7553 Thanks so much! It's a very fun vehicle!

@shahulhusman Awesome, it's an incredible car! I can't wait for future projects Acura will get to show us!
@PlasmadaeDal yea never thought I'd never buy another Honda acura enthusiasts car.. maybe a hybrid for commutes.. but never a track focused
@shahulhusman That's incredible! I will say that Acura has gone through some rough spots for a stretch, but they are going through a resurgence of what made them exciting in the past. I know EV is "part" of their future, but I believe we will see more exciting products coming down the line. Im SUPER excited to see Integra HRC Prototype....I think that's something very cool! I'm glad you're loving your Teggy S!
@PlasmadaeDal thanks.. I sold Hondas from 2002 through 2009... owned a rsx type s , tsx manual, couple integras and preludes etc... loved Honda. I'll keep my integra to remind myself of how good cars can be
@shahulhusman That's awesome! I love the handling of Honda/Acura. Nothing drives quite like them. They are a unique specimen and I love that about the brand. Excellent build quality and ride quality. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us!
2:02 is how an integra should look! Cool video man, i have db8 GSR as well. Amazing cars, can do anything you need
@DanielFantini That is for sure! Love the Teggys and their practicality and handling! I never tire of these 90s designs Acura created!

Imagine how much more fun it'd be if it were a manual
@a124as Seriously! That's what I was thinking as well. This engine is spectacular, and as an auto, it's fantastic, but with a manual, it would be SPECTACULAR!
alot of rust
@johnlu9809 Lots of fun, but always wash it well. Under the car is very well protected, but rust is one of those things....just spray off all the residue...Alternatively, never get it wet....tough call, right?
I’m here thinking of trading my Pilot in for one of these beauties. What’s the Acura been like since taking possession of it? Any Pros/Cons?
@Christopher-of-Columbus What are your top three favorite things about Pilot? Because the MDX is only similar to Pilot with the size, but the trim levels of MDX have a wide gap depending. Are you looking for the Type S? Because it's completely different than pilot by a long shot (in all the good ways mostly)
If you don't mind, what area was your drive?... I'll have to find my way there next time im in So Cal.
Just wanted to let you know, you had a huge part in helping me decide which car I'd end up getting. My 2025 Apex Blue DE5 is in transit and should be here by Christmas.
@Oompa_Lampuh Whaaaa?! That's awesome, and what we like to hear! The Apex Blue was the first Type S Integra I laid eyes on in person, and it's seriously a gorgeous combination! You're gonna love it, and I can't wait to hear that it has arrived!
Great vehicle except for poor mpg combined with a small tank resulting in about 300 mile range.
@gtkona1608 It's one of the most authentic engines on the market. No special abilities on the fuel economy. No hybrid system. So all depends on how you look at it. Not "poor" but compared to hybrid systems it can't put through more. For what it is, 300 miles is enough to take you anywhere, but if you're going long distance, you could get as much as 350 miles. We love the performance tho! Very fun to drive!
As a highly skilled driver I can’t get over the fact that a car of this caliber doesn’t have a hand brake for getting you out of a jam when the front wheels can’t turn………..
@@dailylife6935 Haha! Would be nice, right?! Definitely would up the fun factor for sure!
@ That and it really is a safety issue. My wife’s RDX advance a spec doesn’t turn traction control all the way off and it drives me crazy that I can’t control the vehicle the way I want to. I tried throwing the parking brake on in a drift in the snow to see if it would let me then turn it back off and it wouldn’t let me. So sad to see that genuine skill has been over run by electronics that make it more dangerous:(
@dailylife6935 Yes, the electronics is a hindrance in some cases. In the case of the Integra Type S, I didn't find any limitations other than clearance. Once you learn FWD in snow, i actually prefer it over AWD, you have a better level of control, and the LSD is serious amazing. Put on snow tires, and holy moly! I would like a mechanical brake tho for drifting fun, but i wouldn't call Teggy the best drifter anyhow....S2K tho...fun times :) And that DOES have the mechanical brake :) Stability in regular commuting is not a problem at all. Only becomes a problem if snow is 12" or more. RDX with snow tires would be awesome i bet, but i still think I'd prefer FWD....am I crazy?
@@PlasmadaeDal Not sure if you’re crazy or not. I haven’t had rear wheel drive since the 90s when I had 2 Nissan 300 zx I’ve been on fwd since 2000 and stick at that for 475k miles now. I drive a lot for work and love fwd but a hand brake is a must as I’m a very aggressive driver and when I come in to hot I still need that drift, dump the gas and pull me out of a possible wreck. I can still drift with the best of them. I’m about ready for a new car and am torn with integra type s Gr Corolla for the awd and hand brake or the Lexus is 350 f sport for awd and luxury as I’m getting older now.
@dailylife6935 The Corolla GR you'd have to defeat the AWD system to have some true drifting fun! But it's something to look at. The Toyota GR86 is AWESOME! Have you driven that yet? Definitely worth a look if the ebrake is a non-starter (even still, go test drive Teggy S, you'd love it I'm sure) BTW, you owe it to yourself to look at the TLX Type S if you're looking at Lexus...their SH-AWD is amazing...but you will have an interesting time trying to drift with it, but it is VERY comfy and fun to drive aggressively!
Still debating between this, a GR Corolla Premium Plus, and a Mk 8.5 Golf R. Seeing this video makes me less worried about considering the ITS. Will have to check out the Mk8.5 when they come state side and finally decide. Currently have a 2018 TLX with the SH-AWD so staying within the Acura family is very enticing.
My friend I currently own a VW TDI Sportwagen and I've had nothing but problem after problem after problem with it. I recommend you do not go with the Volkswagen Golf R. I bought a GR Corolla after 2 months I ended up selling it for a profit, because the ride quality was extremely FIRM, really harsh, may have knocked a few feelings out if you get my drift. I test drove the Type-S and in Comfort mode it is very compliant. German cars are only good to own when you have a warranty, they are not good long-term cars. I personally would only go with Japanese cars moving forward call my Toyota and Honda are your Best Bets for long-term reliability. I plan on putting a deposit down for an Integra Type S next week. Going to go with the pearl white paint and the bronze Wheels.
So is having a thousand less lbs, a real transmission and only 35 less hp. I love mine.
@@dougmaverick3287 I had to go with the liquid carbon metallic, oem wheel color and the red interior to match the old NSX type s colorway.
You will LOVE the ITS. It's smooth handling, playful nature, incredibly auditory experience, and swift handling make it a special car! The only downside to it, compared to the others is they are not as easy to find ;) It's an amazing ride tho!
Love this new Integra! I live in MN, and part of me wishes that Honda would’ve continued with the Cross Tour. Modernize it, and offer a performance “SI” version, or a hybrid version (my 1st gen Ridgeline somehow gets roughly the same mpg’s!), or dare I say it: a performance hybrid, in the same spirit as the CRZ. There I said it. I guess what I’m getting at, is that there’s such a market for Subaru’s up here that a “lifted” sedan or hatch back from Honda makes so much sense, because when you deal with feet of snow falling all at once, ground clearance can be the limiting factor.
@DookeyRidr The new Acura ADX may be an answer for you! Slam it with some hydrolics that you can also lift! Maybe in the future, there will be a Type S ADX? Hehe I bet it could look pretty sweet lowered, but I know what you mean!
Not only is a great handling car, it also has a kick-butt sound system as standard!
@@reconeix Yeah! Really is! I was impressed with the overall package offered by Acura 😀
So I live in Canada and have been thinking about awd hatchbacks, specifically the golf R but I've always liked the integra type s more. If only it had awd. But seeing yours through this snow, I've realized it's not bad at all with the proper setup. I guess I should go with type s and go with my heart haha
@patrick0uch I think your heart will tell you the right choice, so let it speak to you. . I'd go test drive both so you'll never wonder, but the Integra Type S is an amazing handler in the snow. AWD has its advantages, like being able to traverse some roads that require AWad or 4WD. Even with snow tires, some passes won't let you through, so all depends. The limiting factor is clearance, but the Golf R has only a tiny, tiny bit more under the car. If I had my choice, I know which I'd choose, but you will definitely NOT regret Teggy S! It's amazing in the snow with snow tires. I wouldn't mind a lift kit of some sort if you drove this car all year round 😀
I can't believe they put a lame ass display with trackpad that is so outdated in a brand new 2025 car. Acura is supposed to be leading edge in technology and it seems like they dropped the ball.
@twinturbo3461 Well.....Actually, i didn't focus on this aspect of thr car, because the driving far overshadows everything else, but if you notice, the 2025 has a TOUCHSCREEN now! So no more proximal touchpad! Most everyone is happy about it but I know some people will be sad because once you learn it, it works decent-ish. This was Acura actual trying something more intuitive, but nobody was ready for it. Now go watch the video and give it a test drive and see how amazing this car actually is!
@@PlasmadaeDal Actually no... only the MDX gets the touchscreen for 2025. FWW, I'm completely satisfied with my '24's touchpad system... it just takes a bit of getting used to. And, this screen remains free of fingerprints and smudges.
@brucebrowne5022 Yep! Acura is moving in the right direction, so all those who didn't like it, it'll eventually be gone. MDX is the heaviest hitter for Acura so that'll have the biggest impact initially...then I think RDX will moce to touchscreen next and then TLX. The new ADX tho, and Integra? Full touchscreen, baby! It'll take time to move over. I agree, once you get used to it, it's not bad...People just don't want to get used to it from the get go, so I'll be curious how much more Acura will sell. All this considered, the driving experience is what I wanted to focus on, because people get hung up on that proximal touchpad and miss out on this beautiful GEM!
I ran the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on my 18 Accord. They were wonderful. I took absolute care for it like it was my newborn baby. It really only last a year for me. I switch to the Continental DSW 06’s. Bang for your buck!

Really enjoyed this video. I swear, I was a better winter driver when I had my FWD Accord coupe than with my TLX - I think SH-AWD (plus Nokian tires) has made me lazy! 😁 Smart of you to clean off that brine solution as quickly as possible. What did in my Accord was rust (at 228,000 miles, the engine and transmission were still perfect) - 11 years in the snow/salt/brine/rust belt killed the car, no matter how much I cleaned it (and I even had a body shop do a few rust repairs, all to no avail). Keep the content coming!
@theopenroadahead Hi there! Yeah, the FWD is a really fun way to go in tne snow, isn't it? Just enough play to have some extra dynamics, but the LSD is just soooo goood! I can picture the TLX being a BEAST in the snow! When we were in SoCal testing the TLX Type S, the SH-AWD was so good we never really lost traction! Put on some winter tires and it would be fantastic, I'm sure! So sad to hear about your Accord and all that rust! The Integra underbody does have a lot more paneling it seems, so hopefully that adds so.e extra protection. My Tacoma has definitely succumbed to rust, but the year I have is really prone to it, so unfortunately, the undercarriage looks terrible. Engine just keeps on going tho!
You forgot to put the transmission is sport mode as well….
@leonbaptiste2272 Did you see it?! We had FUN in Sport Mode! Sport plus is obviously more fun ;)
@@PlasmadaeDalyes I saw it but didn’t see you hit the drive D/S button to put the transmission into S that’s why I mentioned it, watched the entire video, love your passion for these vehicles we share a similar desire, love your creativity….. keep up the great work
@@PlasmadaeDal 19:12 sorry didn’t see this part lol my bad
@leonbaptiste2272 Aahhhh! You meant Sequential Mode! I got it now. Yeah, we didn't do Sport Sequential hehe, I think we were too excited to do Sport + Sequential mode haha but we will do another session with all the combinations and more level ground. This was a casual break in celebration and wanted to see Sequential mode because i just love the way it handles whe you want instant responsiveness 😀 Glad we share a similar passion, you have good taste! 😀 More to come and i appreciate the kind words!
I had a 10th gen Si in the past, and it was one of the better winter performing cars I've driven. In slippery conditions, the differential would transfer the traction to the wheel that wasn't slipping. I never got stuck in snow even once in that car and I drove it with all-seasons. I've got a Type S now too and wouldn't doubt its winter performance, but I'm storing that baby away for the winter and putting the miles on a beater.
@JTibs Hehe, well if you don't have All Season tires on Teggy S, it's a very bad idea to take onto the icy streets. Keep.Teggy S safe! I bet the Si was a lot of fun. That's where my Aspec shines as the main Daily Driver ✨️ 😍
Great job 😮
THANKS! Twas very fun! And sometimes scary making sure to keep Integra safe! 😅
@PlasmadaeDal truth 🤣🤣
@speedisf Fortunately i never did have any close calls! Phew!
I forget the original break in period, but Type S Engines are pre-broken in the Performance Manufacturing Center. Not sure if it is only PMCs though.
@SATO_FD2R Yeah, i have heard, but I don't like taking chances, so I always do it, even tho manual says 600 miles for engine and 200 miles for brake. For me, it's 600 miles all around for all my cars.
Of course! I did the same for my Type S! Better safe than sorry!😅
@SATO_FD2R Exactly! I've been doing this for years and so far hasn't failed me. Also fun to see how the car handles in a subdued way before you open it up! What would be super awesome is if, after 600 miles, Acura "unlocks" the full capabilities, so you learn to drive it before full power, kind of like earning it...could be fun!
My snow tires are a subaru impreza while the type s sleeps the winter away in the garage
@@RubbishFPS I had my Type S out all Winter, Yo!
They put the junk direct injection 1.5L engine in the car with a turbo just like the Civic. It still has issues with oil dilution from gasoline leaking through the rings. They just recalled the car with a “dangerous” steering gear. The CVT is also the same crap transmission used in the Civic. This is the same whore with a new Kimono. Noisy, rough handling with a harsh ride. Honda is in a tail spin and dragging Acura with it. Putting lipstick on a cheap pig does not make a beauty queen.
This video is awesome! I got the same feeling when I purchased my 24 Integra A-Spec Elite in October. I drove 3 hours to pick her up. I was excited and nervous at the same time so I totally get it! This is my first Integra, but I always wanted one in High School. Now 28 years later I am able to finally own one. Coming from an Alfa Romeo Giulia, the Teggy is way better!! The Type S is the goal but need to learn how to use Manual Transmission. lol. Keep the TYPE S video going!!! Cheers!
@amerikmasters Wow! I've heard some good things about the AR Giulia! That's quite a compliment to Acura. I agree tho, it handles really well! The Aspec model is amazing and as far as the 6MT, I never tire of it! Supremely easy entry into the manual transmission 😀 I created a tutorial about how to drive manual in the Integra so you could check it out but I'm sure you have the basics down and only gets better! The Type S is a COMPLETELY different animal. The Aspec is an outstanding daily driver, but the Type S can be nearly as good. Not as good fuel economy, and not as good clearance, but aside from that, they are both extremely livable. I never owned an Integra until my early 20s and fell in love with the car, and then 20 years later, HAD to buy the car because Acura is really going back to their roots in performance! Woohoo! Congratulations, my friend! Be sure to subscribe, I'm gonna be posting a Type S video shortly!

@amerikmasters What is the Elite trim, is that in Canada? That list looks incredible! How much improvement did you see?!
@plasmadaeDal they call the A-Spec with Tech package Elite. The bolt ons have made a huge difference. The intercooler and Charge pipe made the turbo more responsive. The high volume intake and Turbo Inlet pipe makes the engine perform better in the mid to high range while providing a nice audible turbo spool. The rear motor mount grabs the engine so well that the shifts and acceleration is smooth, but the caveat is a bit of vibration that I actually prefer. The N1 exhaust has a nice deep tone and isn’t too loud. It sounds similar to your stock Type S exhaust. One of the most important upgrades was tuning my car with KTuner V2 and the Phearable 1.5T tune. Phearable is a great website that supports my DE4 and your DE5. That alone woke the engine up. No rev hang and the low to high range is so much better. Zero CELS and you can revert back to Factory. KTuner V2 is touchscreen and logs real time data that you want to focus on. Below is my breakdown and review of my modifications. www.integratalk.com/threads/upgrading-my-2024-de4-elite-called-akyra.882/?post_id=6880&nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#post-6880 Cheers!
@amerikmasters Wow! Sounds amazing! I would love to hear what it sounds like. The exhaust in the Type S is something I never get tired of, and do enjoy some additional feedback in audio fashion! Well done on all of that and thanks for the information! I'd be curious about how it would change the 6MT Elite?! In the US, I think Honda owns the "Elite" name, so I wondered if that was a regional thing! Good to know :)
Everything is good when New
@GhOst-fv7kf Take care of your Acura, your Acura will take care of you! Change the oil every 5000 miles, and you will never need to worry! The things will run forever!
You should check the oil level if you haven’t yet makes sure its not burning any during break in
@hondatech35 Yep! And if the manual is reviewed, it says to check the oil every time you fill up your gas tank! 😆 like anyone does that! Best thing I can recommend is to change your oil on a very regular basis and if you are super careful, check the oil levels periodically, like you said.
great video! nice no stopping at stop sign.
@dominickmamone6196 Haha, thanks! Sometimes in snow, you have to make the best decisions for safety teehee
