Jason, what I remember of your Warspite is that you had a different deck which was more esthetic in color than the pontos deck. However after much problems in dryfitting you decided to go with the pontos deck anyway because the fit was way better. Can't remember the other brand you were using then.
Hello Jason, I'm some way behind you but somewhere you said you could help if we didn't have a pontos hydrophone template and I'm afraid I don't! Any advice gratefully received.
Since I’ve got my focus back for kit building, I’ve dug out my Trumpeter 1/350 KMS Blucher. Started her over 4 years ago. I purchased the Eduard upgrade set, I’ve just fitted the brand new bow supplied in the set, because Trumpeter’s was totally the wrong shape. I’m delivering more rants than dear Peter Oxley. Lol. But we the end customer pay a lot for these kits, they should be accurate.an upgrade set should be just that, an upgrade to give realistic detail unachievable with the plastic moulding process, not to change the structure of the vessel, because Trumpeter’s research is obviously lacking in precision. When it comes to warship modelling , the modellers of this genre have very little choice if they want to build in large scale. Tamiya offer a few in 1/350, along with Revell, but by far the biggest range is offered by Trumpeter. Wish they would be a lot more precise with their research. Asking a lot because of the cost of retooling to correct the multitude of glaring errors. Rant over. 😢
I love building ships , but I haven’t the skills to re-design Trumpeters large scale kits. Wish someone like the Eastern European manufacturers would take on the job. They would be accurate, and detailed. Trumpeter fail in both aspects. 😢
Amazing patience and precision. You are an inspiration
Great build and vid 💞🍺👍💪
