I am a model builder of 48 years. I am not a professional model builder, just an average guy having some fun. My channel is a model builders magazine. you can follow my builds see tool, kit and product reviews I also share some quick tips and even do a few trips out. The first wednesday of the month focus's on wooden model ship building. I build all sorts of kits and scales but my first love though is ships, plastic or wooden.
First impressions, Miniart, 1/35. Opel Blitz flatbed in military service.
its a 2024 new tool but with so many rival kits on this subject how will it stand up?

Such a great offer, paid just under £96 both 40% and Modelkitstiff 10% all in for a Swallowtail. New airbrush arrived today. Thank you Jason
Very helpful, thanks. Going to try your cleaning method and ordered some oil 👍
When using the Vallejo Airbrush paints, do you also have to thin it? Wjy does it stay sticky? Even after weeks of drying it stays sticky. Why is that?
Unfortunately it’s not a simple answer but yes I think model air roughly 25% but it depends on all sorts of things your best using your eye and experience to judge if the paint is thin enough before you put it in your airbrush. I always put it in a pallet first to get it right. Staying sticky for days is not correct it’s usually touch dry in 30 minutes or less so not sure what your doing if you are thinning change your thinner, use the dedicated brand thinner is best don’t use something like levelling thinners in true acrylic paint. You can clear coat the paint after 30 mins which will stop the paint being sticky
Hi Jason, thanks for review, very interesting and useful. Have a great day, Dom
But why don't they put Opel Blitz on the box.
indeed
Not suitable for children under 3?!? So at 4 they are fine 😂
Looks a nice kit, lots of Future releases and by the looks of it the sprue layout make's sense.
Hi Jason, Thanks for your First Impression. This really is a very nice kit. I like the red cab version too. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
As a native german speaker I can reassure you that the whole phrase "Pritsche Normal Type" is in fact german ;) Only "Type" has a somewhat not that usual spelling, but both forms "Type" and "Typ" were commonly used in German. Nice Review, thx for sharing!
Intresting thanks very much
Thanks for a very comprehensive review. I have this kit too, but had not taken it out of the bags......it's another great kit from Miniart
Even that flash was trying hard to form a parteiadler - amazing looking kit, presented in a thorough run through of the contents of the box. It's a package any modeller worth their salts would love to get their hands on!
I just ordered an older Peerless kit off eBay of a 2 1/2 ton WW2 GMC US Army cargo truck 1/35 it will be interesting to see how it matches up. I never built a Peerless kit before so I don’t really know what I’m in for. I’m sure it won’t have near the detail, but it does have a mounted machine gun! 😅
Very fond of Miniart kits - you really don't need any aftermarket stuff. A heap of tiny parts - PE sump plugs the size of a pinhead come to mind! Appreciate the review.
Great rifts and ridges 👍☕🐢
Cool. 👍🏻
Nice!!!
Hi Jason , I have the Thunder model Scammel Recovery next on the list to build ,looking forward to it ,and this is a welcome review will you be building yours soon , Always watch your table talk ,and learn a lot from your tips and reviews , Cheers .
not sure yet I have a pipeline of the next 2 builds announced then we will see
Hello, I was wondering how long it took you to build this kit?
I have not built it yet
If you did some every evening and nothing else I would estimate 6-9 months depending on your ability
Then what is the best beginner ship kit, preferably the bigger ones
Hi Jason, great video. With the placement the the hatch on the deck, I think you made an error in your measurements. On the plan, you measured from the skylight to the edge of the hatch. When on the actual model, there was a 1mm overhang and you measured from the actual housing edge for placement, I believe you should have added a mm not subtracted one. On this, I might be wrong, so apologies if so.
you might be right anyhow no one will know shhhhh!
Sounds like a great deal. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Hi Jason, Thanks for the review. It looks like this would be a real time saver. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
It will go one of two ways it will be brilliant or a nightmare, we will see
HI Jason i been trying to use your code modekitstuff010 it does not recognise it when i used code modelkitstuff010 it says it already be used so what to do know
hmm not sure I just tried it and its working for me. try reloading the page. if that does not work drop customer service a line, I am told they are very good
Jason Just a question about the measurements on the boat. On the plan you measured 27mm at the edge of the skylight to the hatch, but then on the boat the rule was under the frame of the skylight by 1mm. You subtracted that 1mm from your measurement, but shouldn’t you have added it making the final position of the hatch 28mm?
yep my mistake, trying to talk think and film, never mind
Still following and still enjoying.
Such steady progress, Jason! She's coming along nicely! 👍
I'm up to Ep. 3. Perhaps the best model build video I have seen. Nothing missed out. No condescension to the inexperienced - just detailed information for all. I'm tempted but will look at the rest of the series to make sure it is not beyond my capability and also finish the two current projects that are underway..
Thanks for the kind words
Hi Jason, Thanks for the update on your Endeavour. Have a great day. Jeff
Wife ordered the Mobius 0.2 for me on Father's Day. I received a USPS tracking # even though I chose the UPS option. It said my order was ready, then I got an update saying they're getting it ready. The order summery even states UPS. Regardless, no one knows where the package is. Are they known for bad shipping practices?
I am not aware of any other complaints on shipping, hope thier customer service is helping.
@@ModelkitStuff I messaged them and just got a form letter response saying they'll get back to me.
I already ordered so I won't be able to take advantage of your added discount.
Another good video Jason will not be able make the Friday live chat due to my sisters wedding but hope you have a good week sir and Godspeed 🫡
No worries, I hope she has a great day.
Interesting product, i would love to see you use it.
Thanks for the extra 10% discount Jason 😊 Ordered a new Gaalheri airbrush today. Thanks again mate!
Great informative video, Jason.
Hi Jason, Intreasting product, might consider it when I get around to building the Walrus
In stock at Hannants
Went for a Swallowtail set... Would have been out of reach without this offer so thanks for the timely sharing ... Next is to learn to use it well 😂
Another good video Jason.
Great video as always Jason. I too am not anywhere near a "DIY guy" 😅 Nor do I have any real interest in learning or acquiring the skills to do home projects. My love is for model building. The more I see that Bristol Bulldog, the more inclined I am to buy one. Looks to be a cracking kit. Definitely must get in on that Gaalheri sale, thanks for the extra 10% price break. Take care and be seeing you, Jim
Hi Jim, The bulldog is a cracking kit, see her progress on Saturday
Thanks!
Thanks for the donation, apricated.
Apologies in advance for what is no doubt a real amateur question, but aren't they flat, rather than round, as a cable would be? I got a set of theirs for the AirFix Tiger Moth and didn't use them, I didn't dig how they looked.
actually they are correct British bracing wires are flat not round as you may imagine. I believe bracing wires for other countries can be round but I am no expert, but in the case of British aircraft flat is correct.
@@ModelkitStuff J, this is why you are the man. Thanks for that information, what a star you are.
Very good 👍
Hope your good Peter
Hi Jason, this is a great offer, thanks for posting! Have a great day, Dom
I got one and I absolutely love this unit. I am sure it is just me and my friends but I always called a unit I hold between my thumb/finger and push down my index finger a airbrush and a trigger version a airgun. This was my first airGUN and it is so much easier, better, so much more controllable. Outstanding.
I think your right
thanks nd ill be ordering one later this week
What magnifying glasses do you use?
the brand is light craft, there is a video on them in my tools playlist
Looks like a great offer.
Thx for the heads-up!
Awesome,
Thanks for the heads up.Got to work out if I can get another Swallowtail as I don’t like to faff about when I want a different needl/fluid cap size. I just want to pick up another one already set and just add the next paint.
The new style with a greater range of kits sounds good... 1 detail build and then highlight tip and trick builds... And thanks for sharing your modelling journey with us
What cement are you using ?
