This is my favorite spiderman game, idk why people hate on the web swinging so much, it feels really good imo. The combat in this game was especially awesome, no other spiderman game has really come close.

SolarDragon007 this game was rushed. they made it in a year. spiderman 3 was released in 2007 and this was released in 2008. they put more focus in story and combat. swinging is still better than TASM, at least here you have proper momentum

This game is seriously a badass Spider-Man experience, but there's still a few things I wish they would have added to it.
1. Hanging upside down from lamp posts.
2. Hanging criminals from lamp post (Srsly loved that in SM2)
3. Pete randomly talking to himself while u were webslinging between missions.
4. Aerial tricks (from SM3) & Holding onto ur weblines when u had dual webs, like in SM2.
Things they got right tho.
1. Swinging and combat system, spot on!
2. Fully developed storyline.
3. Sturdy camera (always underrated in a good game)
3. When u can wall run n turn corners to keep going 0_0 *cool
4. Spidey sitting perched on walls and looking about. *very nice touch.
WoS was a remarkable game, yes, but still think Activision should release an HD version on SM2 tho IMO.
Agree almost with everything, but when it comes to the cutscenes, i'd say that they could have improve many things there. For example the animations are really stiff.. same goes for lip synchronization with the voice acting. And the cutscenes were sometimes just.. too quiet.. i dunno... the game has some good soundtracks included. But in some certain parts of the game.. it just cuts out and gets all quiet. And Spider-Man himself had some pretty ''dumb'' questions and responses. I mean ofc. this is a video game adaption for kid's favourite super hero.. but some of the dialogues in the game were just stupid. :/

I wish we had the option to like just hang out and chill with our sidekicks and allies, and have the option at some point to infect them - sort of like Saints Row IV
Also you should be able to do good or bad things regardless of what suit you're wearing, and spidey can't stick people to walls and finish crime events, like he has to attack them until they're out, which didn't feel too spidey-esque.

it just looks and feels great that the swinging has so much momentum, when you let go and he just catapults in the air! ultimate spiderman also does a good job at this though, pancakes!

In web of shadows you could swing faster, gain altitude faster, move through mid air better, and constant wall movement with running off walls or jumping off with a pinball effect made its web swinging the best. Sadly the amazing spiderman games dont feel this way. Wish I made this video im just saying cause I couldve REALLY shown yall the epic style of the games swinging. Anyway the amazing spiderman swinging mechanic is too hyped up in my opinion. The only thing its got is webs that touch buildings.....wow that is such a game changer. But you feel a loss of control sometimes. Like the camera and spidermans constant forward movement dont work together. Like literally it looks like you cant change direction with the regular joystick in mid air -_-

The amazing spiderman swinging was crap. And the webs didn't even try to touch the buildings, it was all a bunch of clunky static animation that have you no control whatsoever. Worst swinging yet IMHO. This game has some great swinging though, but SM2 is still the best. It used physics and the webs actually had substance.

Man, if you made one, you have to do it properly. I have literally been playing this dumb game since it came out, you have to show how you can make entire lanes like up to 8 cars (my personal best) just soar away from you with the black symbiote, and set off other cars, or swinging around a building so that the webline becomes shorter and you gain momentum to catapult.

the swinging felt so natural and satisfying, speedy in the lowest point of the parabola, and slow on top. other spider man games were linear
The physics are a little overdone (he seems to go full-speed with his swings no matter what), but the bodily motions for Spider-Man are pretty good.
It feels better that way when you actually play the game. Unlike the amazing Spider-Man games where he's super slow and gravity doesn't affect him.

It also depends on how many collectables you have. They increase your speed so you start with a very slow swinging so you get used to it and if you explore the city you get to be faster and faster

@@njgrant3988 Why is it better? I personally enjoyed the combat, swinging, and overall appearance to anything in Spider-Man 2. I didn’t grow up with Spider-Man 2, but it’s still a great game. I like how there’s more momentum and speed in Spider-Man 2, but I don’t enjoy it as much because it takes a while to master, and it doesn’t look as good.
maybe it feels more realistic and the speed and everything is closer to how it looks in the movies but this seems way more fun tbh (plus the animations have so much personal flare and style so i love it)

In my opinion, this game is definately the best spiderman game ever and besides that a really good game to play in a short brake. you can swing through the whole city with a very impressive graphic.
The swinging itself is also very well done.
It's a good mix of the "aiming swinging" of spiderman 2 and free swinging.

its like watching an eagle soaring through the sky or a school of fish swimming in the ocean, so majestic and awesome. the music makes it so much cooler. this is why spiderman is the best. lots of heros can fly, but spidey can swing.

Apart from some bugs and the invisible roof in the sky he sometimes attaches his web to, this webswinging is miles ahead of the new system.
the new swinging system in marvel spiderman looks pretty good to me. it's such a shame, they don't plan releasing it for pc as well

This is when the web-swinging was at it's peak. Combat wasn't as bad either, you can take it in the air, on the ground, or even the walls. but that damn web-swinging. And the way you slide on the building with the web-zip.

Gotta love the Danny Elfman score being put in. Grew up with the Raimi trilogy the most and this games web swinging is just AMAZING! Especially when you upgraded it to the max. When I played this game myself, when I finally got it for PS3 I legitimately felt like Spiderman when playing Web of Shadows. I know that Spiderman PS4 has the best web swinging, but Web of Shadows really comes in second in that department. I unfortunately don't have a PS4 and Insomniac Spiderman game, but when the time comes when I finally get those two things, I at least have Web of Shadows and Ultimate Spider-Man to play around with. 😅
Not to mention the web zipping through flying/midair enemies. that was my most favorite mechanic of the game. The way spidey just punches the stuff out of them while attaching webs, dragging them off to walls, and basically endlessly fling them to their deaths is the most satisfying mechanic of the game which I didn't see in the Insomniac games.

Indeed, sometimes you can get the impression, that he shoots his webs into nothing but not very often. principally, you can only swing in areas, where the web can attach to materials.
I think part of why spider-man 2 is still most ppl's favorite is because the web DOESN'T attach to the clouds... that's something the 'real' spider-man has to worry about, which makes it much more realistic when it comes to swinging. I love WoS in gameplay though

Nostalgia :3 loved swinging in this game, in dark spiderman costume for some reason. Just couldn't find any other superhero game like this one after that. Maybe the new ones.
In the spider man 2 game, the webs actually attached to buildings while swinging and the free roam area was massive.

dont get me wrong IMO web of shadows is the definitive spiderman game and swinging does feel great... its just sorta weird when youre above the buildings and for some reason you can still swing lol it just takes me out of it a bit. i dont care as much as some people tho
i liked spiderman 2 and 3s swinging because it was physics based and stuck to walls but was still pretty flexible and very fast paced. TASM didnt get the speed or camera down IMO. camera needs to be farther away so you can see better
that's right. the camera position and the beeping sound when the web can't attach to something are a little bit annoying. anyway tasm is a good compromise in my opion as it has good graphic, a realistic swinging system and is pretty flexible

believe me: spiderman web of shadows is in all points better than every spiderman game there was before.
The building may be a little bit different that in sm3 but the map is basically the same and the graphic is 5 times better.
It felt like you were flying when you swung in this game. So awesome.
