As people are pointing out, there's a singular animation mod near the beginning when he orbits around the wall and into a spiral jump. I did mention this in the description and left it in because it looked good. It's the only case of it and it still has default physics which was essential to me so everything can be replicated. Easily by biggest concern with the next game. The visuals of the gameplay trailer made it seem like the were reusing ALOT of swinging animations from the previous games. And while some reused animations are fine, I’m really hoping they’re gonna breathe some new life into web swinging with miles and Peter.

Just in case anyone don’t know about it yet, I’d like to point out one more fun thing. While swinging, Release R2 right after you hit the wall to perform Wall bounce. You can do it any time anywhere at your will. It’s fun🥰
@@cyders I know it takes time and effort to master it but trust me once you mastered it, it’s super fun to roam around. I’m sure you’re aware of the wall bounce that randomly triggers in the game. The main reason you slams into a wall is you release R2 a bit too early, Timing is the key here. You need to release it as soon as you hit the wall, Not too early Not too late. You need to be precise with the timing. Hopes this helps. ☺️ Sorry for the long paragraph.

PRO TIP most people ignore: Sometimes, just release the R2 button, you dont need to jump off a swing everytime, you can also realease and press R2 in the low point of a swing to have that classic left-right hand swinging (This is even better in Miles Morales with very different animation if you just release the R2). Also hold circle while running up a wall to sharply turn the corner while still running.
@@FroggyDog22 at any point, the point is not to jump in every swing, most people tend to always end the swing by jumping, not doing so lowers momentum (useful for tight corners) and in Miles Morales he does different animations. I tend overcomplicated things

Every video i've watched on "swinging like a pro" has been useless because i've self taught so many mechanics in my 10+ playthroughs. Thank you for making this, that dodge + zip tech is insane! It seriously keeps your momentum up when zipping around corners and i will definitely be doing that more
Great video! People say the swinging in this game isn’t very advanced but it depends on if you utilize everything that Spider-Man can do. There’s one bonus I would add and that is pressing circle while wall running, it adds a stylish animation that combines well with leaps.

Another tip to add to the list: spam webs (R1) while web zipping onto a flying enemy to stop them from attacking you while you are reaching them. Saves a lot of health and gives you breathing period between fights
Ok this is the best tutorial on webslinging for Marvel’s Spiderman. There were things in here that I didn’t even know, and I’ve been playing since the launch of the game.
Another thing people can try is using the ground pound as a substitute for the air dive. It's faster and looks way cooler. Just ground pound and cancel the animation with a swing before you hit the ground. You can do it in miles morales too but you need at least one charged bar of your venom meter

Still a pretty new channel, the algorithm seems to be testing the waters with recent videos. It really takes hard work, dedication and time to grow a channel. Hearing feedback like yours really helps. I have plans for many more videos, but each one takes ages I can't pump them out like a Call of Duty game. Which I wouldn't want to anyway haha, I enjoy the slow process of it.

One thing that wasn't shown is you can cancel the point launch animation with dodge. It carries the speed and momentum in the direction without being forced to jump out of it. Very stylish

At 9:08 i call it swim like a dolphin instead of hopping like a rabbit... Or kangaroo perhaps... Idk. but ive always told my nephews, i can make spidey "do the dolphin"
This was actually really helpful and I may have knew the technique before but I'm gonna say that I really love pressing x early on in the swings because it feels like Spider-Man (2000), Enter Electro, and Spider-Man (2002)
A tip I have is that in the miles morales version if you doge while swinging you can do almost 90 degree turns instantly while keeping most of your speed
a trick i found out about a while ago is that if you dodge and then immediately trick in any direction you can either conserve or quickly gain speed depending on how fast you are already going!
You can cancel out of a point launch with dodge and still maintain the momentum from zipping to the point You can also, when swinging low to the ground, just release r2 and hold it again to release a web and shoot one again. If you do it smoothly enough, spidey glides above the ground with speed n grace :p

Also entering photo mode v quickly and creating a stylish shot before canceling and going back into ur swing is rly fun and stylish, similar to the L2 slowdown but with more options
Absolutely, plus you can get depth of field in photo mode which adds a nice touch. In my combat comparison video I used this trick a few times to get a paused slomo orbit for web blasts.
I discovered all of them on my own so for me there is nothing new, but actually there is plenty more. For example in the regular ps4 version if you hold r2 when no buildings are around you'll perform what I called true dive spidey will make a dive without altering the camera angle and you'll get much more speed than just pressing L3 which cancels your forward momentum, I never use it unless I want to get pure height. Then there is the front flip zip, spidey will perform a sudden front flip zipping you forward when near the edge of a building when you are facing it towards one of the walls. This will look like Spidey's upper body is higher the building but his legs are below the edge if that makes sense, if you hold R2 while in this position the front flip zin will launch you forward with INSANE levels of speed it's hard to master but once you get oh boy you fly through 3 buildings almost instantly. Then you have what I call the air break, this only works on the og ps4 version, as you need the punching button. Instead of loosing all momentum with dodging if you punch you'll slow down but not as much and if you do a reverse punch you'll slow down and gain height at the same time, it's super useful when you are about to hit a building at high speeds and there is not time to do a perch point or anything else without changing direction and you can get extra height and then perform the perch launch. So those last two features are the ones that I discovered and do not use intended features but more so abuse the game mechanics. Oh and finally if you hold Circle while wall running upwards and the building ends spidey will just keep running reach the roof and continue moving horizontally while not losing too much momentum. so yeah I spent a shit ton of hours and as far as I know I discovered every creative way to break the game. good luck if there is anything you didn't understand send me a reply, have fun guys. oh one las thing this is mainly for straight speed and getting close to the ground as fast as possible without losing forward momentum, works for when you are high above any buildings to swing from and so instead of waiting to fall you approach the ground at high speed and it's not L3 . Simply tap r2 and cancel your swing DO NOT Hold on to the webline just tap and release do it multiple times until you are about to hit the ground then do hold on to a webline on the last second you'll gain insane speed. if you go to my channel I have some demo videos there that show you how it looks. Oh damn thanks for this reply! Im amazed at what Im still learning about this game. Just to be clear, the first tip is on the PS4 version and won't work on the remastered? Im going to give these all a shot, considering a part 2. There's so many more tricks.
@@deepkick9 yeah the first one I'm not sure if "true dive" works on the remastered version it perhaps does, you may try it since I only have a ps4 but I'll soon get a PC and test many things with it. but unfortunately what does NOT work is the air punching technique that I use because in the remastered version the square/punching button is replaced, unless you find a mod that reverses the button mapping maybe it will. The others remain the same I think, but I'll make a video just for you with basic editing just to show you better how it's done. As for the upcoming spiderman 2 game oh boy I'll definitely find many unintended uses or glitches with the new features specially with the black suit transversal properties. Bro FINALLY someone who’s actually taken the time to find new and creative ways to traverse. Kinda feeling like I was the only one who experimented with the web swinging in this game. Sending this to every content creator who said the web swinging is slow. Idiots literally do the bare minimum basics and wonder why they’re moving so slow. Thanks so much. You can also make the camera sensitivity higher so it looks like you move faster.
That's great to hear, appreciate it. Originally I was looking for a video on traversal and when I couldn't find one decided I have to make one myself. There are plenty videos of people showcasing mods or swinging animations but nothing new in the way of swinging itself. Just holding R2 and occasional point launch. There's way more to it. I'd even make a second part if there's content, hoping players like yourself can share here. Or maybe Miles Morales one. You're right about camera sensitivity, I actually tried with it high but it made the footage look too jittery. I'm playing with it on 2/10 here to keep the camera smooth for cinematic effect. But otherwise I'd crank it right up.
@@lordraiden7397 PS4 🤦, I’m talking about gameplay from ps5 or Pc. You actually do move 2x faster. He’s just showing you ways to build your momentum faster since it is momentum based anyway.
Someone already mentioned ground pound, but to add on, it instantly brings you to your max swing speed when you cancel out of it into a swing. Probably a little OP all things considered. A technique I like to use (that works best in Miles Morales because dodge can be cancelled quicker into a swing), is point launch at a roof's corner then dodge sideways before you reach your target, which is useful for gaining vertical height while still staying positioned towards the side of a building for an instant followup swing. And the classic, if you're parallel in height and close to a roof's edge when in midair, pressing R2 will do the TASM2 move where he whips himself over the roof.
Thanks for the comment, what did you learn? I had thought about doing Miles but I don't think there's enough extra tips to warrant a video, otherwise I'd be dead keen for it. Everything here already directly applies to Miles. You do have the venom abilities though, I plan to have a play with them and see if I can find some unique things. The swinging animations in Miles in general are so fluid.
With miles you can do a trick where u enter the swinging upside down animation and keep it going by releasing and holding R2 at the right rhythm Tricky but super satisfying
I also like doing a thing where u only use the friendly neighbourhood app when ur in the middle of the alternate dive animation where miles checks his phone ;3

An interesting tip that I discover not too long ago: You can point lunch from the ground or rooftop , just aim to it in focus mode , and then press X right before you get there, the timing to get the strong version is a little bit harder than normal. Hope that for the second game they implement this mechanic for vertical surfaces.
Who said there isn’t mastery in the web swinging. Now I know they should deepen the swinging mechanics and make it more where you have to master it but this is not bad
Amazing video subscribed! 6:15 did you know you can also go sideways when climbing up the staircase but it works like a exit animation to change direction so instead of going up you can go to the sides
This really helps for a new player like me. Just played this game for about 2 days, and the swinging is pretty hard to maintain on controller. Easier on keyboard for me.
Glad to help. I’m the opposite where the keyboard is harder to control for me. Mainly because wasd doesn’t allow the same control as a joystick. The mouse is probably easier for the camera though. I’ve always used controllers so it feels natural. Hopefully the tips still work for you regardless.

Whenever I wanna hit tight corners in Miles Morales, I just tap X 1 time in the direction I'm trying to sharp turn into, and once you get that upgrade to maintane speed while doing it and I like to cut my swings extremly short to maintane that downward swing speed and I fly through town in seconds.
If you hold R2 and X to super jump, try pushing forward only slightly on L Stick and Peter will jump high with a little forward movement. I find it useful for getting around enemy bases in stealth
My favorite trick is pressing A mid wall run, it'll make Spidey web himself a short distance up the wall. If you do it back to back continuously, you'll get up the wall much faster.
Hi, I've been trying this and I'm still not sure what you mean? I tap L2 and it goes into aim mode briefly, but it doesn't seem faster. I've timed wall running up some buildings to see. Can you elaborate? Thanks
@@deepkick9 Whoops, my mistake, I must have misremembered. It's actually A (jump), while holding RT. I also use LT to go into aim mode while I do it, but that's just a personal preference and isn't needed for the wall run zip. Hope it works now that I've given the correct directions lol. This video is fantastic! One thing I've noticed, though, is I don't believe there's a way to edit FOV settings on the console, I've triple-checked everywhere in settings; maybe I'm just not seeing it.
You’re right and an oversight on my part. I assumed ps5 would have fov settings as it’s not complex? Surely it’s not that much more taxing on the system!?
I think it makes a difference on how you play for sure. High FOV and I'm swinging around like a crazy rabbit and low I'm more relaxed enjoying the scenery.
If you like to move quickly, hold down the dive button briefly then swing to swing a bit faster, follow up with either jumping off the web or a web zip.
This video is a fantastic combiantion of clear information, tight and cinematic presentation, and good usage of sound design, all while being accompanied by the most white boy ethsuastic lets play voice I have ever heard. Good video mate.
Awesome vid! One more pro tip is a web whip Spidey does over tops of buildings that is super challenging to nail down… you have to swing towards a building at the perfect angle right before the top of the building, then Spidey whips right over it kinda like Amazing Spider-man 2 opening scene. I have a swinging video I made myself on my channel where I pull off this maneuver several times if you wanna check it out! ;)
It's and easy one but using mostly web zips and dodging, you get the effect of going fast. Loved this video and it made me re-download the game. cant wait to see one for the second game!
Hey deepkick? Here’s another tip for ya: Do the vertical point launch near a lamp post, followed by swinging at the last second before you hit the ground, and then you’ll go at like crazy fast speed during your swing.

You can also use low gravity power from 2099 suit during fall, it makes it look like you are gliding with web wings. Overall great video!

Basically try swinging without jumping so you can notice the difference in speed and animations. They key is combining both styles.

But it’s great to see someone actually break it down and showcase just about every technique to be better at swinging!
I learned some from Reddit and other videos too. But there wasn't a single video dedicated to swinging only so I wanted to consolidate everything succinctly.

One thing that wasn't shown is you can cancel the point launch animation with dodge. It carries the speed and momentum in the direction without being forced to jump out of it. Very stylish

If you see multiple cars lined up, you can swing and land on one, then parkour jump onto the next, and jump right back up into a swing.

This was actually really helpful and I may have knew the technique before but I'm gonna say that I really love pressing x early on in the swings because it feels like Spider-Man (2000), Enter Electro, and Spider-Man (2002)

Holding the dodge button while running up a wall stops you from jumping when you reach the top, you just transfer into running forward.

A tip I have is that in the miles morales version if you doge while swinging you can do almost 90 degree turns instantly while keeping most of your speed
a trick i found out about a while ago is that if you dodge and then immediately trick in any direction you can either conserve or quickly gain speed depending on how fast you are already going!

Seems like a video that was made by the devs themselves to inspire players to twip with style.
You can cancel out of a point launch with dodge and still maintain the momentum from zipping to the point
You can also, when swinging low to the ground, just release r2 and hold it again to release a web and shoot one again. If you do it smoothly enough, spidey glides above the ground with speed n grace :p
You can also go from a high altitude ground stomp to swinging without dodging to cancel

Absolutely, plus you can get depth of field in photo mode which adds a nice touch.
In my combat comparison video I used this trick a few times to get a paused slomo orbit for web blasts.
Another fun movement tip is when you point launch somewhere right before you click x just dodge left or right and you keep your momentum

I discovered all of them on my own so for me there is nothing new, but actually there is plenty more. For example in the regular ps4 version if you hold r2 when no buildings are around you'll perform what I called true dive spidey will make a dive without altering the camera angle and you'll get much more speed than just pressing L3 which cancels your forward momentum, I never use it unless I want to get pure height. Then there is the front flip zip, spidey will perform a sudden front flip zipping you forward when near the edge of a building when you are facing it towards one of the walls. This will look like Spidey's upper body is higher the building but his legs are below the edge if that makes sense, if you hold R2 while in this position the front flip zin will launch you forward with INSANE levels of speed it's hard to master but once you get oh boy you fly through 3 buildings almost instantly. Then you have what I call the air break, this only works on the og ps4 version, as you need the punching button. Instead of loosing all momentum with dodging if you punch you'll slow down but not as much and if you do a reverse punch you'll slow down and gain height at the same time, it's super useful when you are about to hit a building at high speeds and there is not time to do a perch point or anything else without changing direction and you can get extra height and then perform the perch launch. So those last two features are the ones that I discovered and do not use intended features but more so abuse the game mechanics. Oh and finally if you hold Circle while wall running upwards and the building ends spidey will just keep running reach the roof and continue moving horizontally while not losing too much momentum. so yeah I spent a shit ton of hours and as far as I know I discovered every creative way to break the game. good luck if there is anything you didn't understand send me a reply, have fun guys. oh one las thing this is mainly for straight speed and getting close to the ground as fast as possible without losing forward momentum, works for when you are high above any buildings to swing from and so instead of waiting to fall you approach the ground at high speed and it's not L3 . Simply tap r2 and cancel your swing DO NOT Hold on to the webline just tap and release do it multiple times until you are about to hit the ground then do hold on to a webline on the last second you'll gain insane speed. if you go to my channel I have some demo videos there that show you how it looks.

Im going to give these all a shot, considering a part 2. There's so many more tricks.
@@deepkick9 yeah the first one I'm not sure if "true dive" works on the remastered version it perhaps does, you may try it since I only have a ps4 but I'll soon get a PC and test many things with it. but unfortunately what does NOT work is the air punching technique that I use because in the remastered version the square/punching button is replaced, unless you find a mod that reverses the button mapping maybe it will. The others remain the same I think, but I'll make a video just for you with basic editing just to show you better how it's done. As for the upcoming spiderman 2 game oh boy I'll definitely find many unintended uses or glitches with the new features specially with the black suit transversal properties. Did you saw the two videos that I included in my first comment? the first part of them is what's important.

Bro FINALLY someone who’s actually taken the time to find new and creative ways to traverse. Kinda feeling like I was the only one who experimented with the web swinging in this game. Sending this to every content creator who said the web swinging is slow. Idiots literally do the bare minimum basics and wonder why they’re moving so slow. Thanks so much. You can also make the camera sensitivity higher so it looks like you move faster.

Originally I was looking for a video on traversal and when I couldn't find one decided I have to make one myself.
There are plenty videos of people showcasing mods or swinging animations but nothing new in the way of swinging itself. Just holding R2 and occasional point launch. There's way more to it. I'd even make a second part if there's content, hoping players like yourself can share here. Or maybe Miles Morales one.
You're right about camera sensitivity, I actually tried with it high but it made the footage look too jittery. I'm playing with it on 2/10 here to keep the camera smooth for cinematic effect. But otherwise I'd crank it right up.

@@lordraiden7397 PS4 🤦, I’m talking about gameplay from ps5 or Pc. You actually do move 2x faster. He’s just showing you ways to build your momentum faster since it is momentum based anyway.
Someone already mentioned ground pound, but to add on, it instantly brings you to your max swing speed when you cancel out of it into a swing. Probably a little OP all things considered.
A technique I like to use (that works best in Miles Morales because dodge can be cancelled quicker into a swing), is point launch at a roof's corner then dodge sideways before you reach your target, which is useful for gaining vertical height while still staying positioned towards the side of a building for an instant followup swing.
And the classic, if you're parallel in height and close to a roof's edge when in midair, pressing R2 will do the TASM2 move where he whips himself over the roof.
These are all awesome tips, thanks! That third one is very hard to pull off consistently

I had thought about doing Miles but I don't think there's enough extra tips to warrant a video, otherwise I'd be dead keen for it. Everything here already directly applies to Miles.
You do have the venom abilities though, I plan to have a play with them and see if I can find some unique things.
The swinging animations in Miles in general are so fluid.
With miles you can do a trick where u enter the swinging upside down animation and keep it going by releasing and holding R2 at the right rhythm

An interesting tip that I discover not too long ago: You can point lunch from the ground or rooftop , just aim to it in focus mode , and then press X right before you get there, the timing to get the strong version is a little bit harder than normal. Hope that for the second game they implement this mechanic for vertical surfaces.

6:15 did you know you can also go sideways when climbing up the staircase but it works like a exit animation to change direction so instead of going up you can go to the sides

This really helps for a new player like me. Just played this game for about 2 days, and the swinging is pretty hard to maintain on controller. Easier on keyboard for me.

I’m the opposite where the keyboard is harder to control for me. Mainly because wasd doesn’t allow the same control as a joystick. The mouse is probably easier for the camera though. I’ve always used controllers so it feels natural.

Whenever I wanna hit tight corners in Miles Morales, I just tap X 1 time in the direction I'm trying to sharp turn into, and once you get that upgrade to maintane speed while doing it and I like to cut my swings extremly short to maintane that downward swing speed and I fly through town in seconds.
I always run up building dodge backwards /backflip and dive then Swing

If you hold R2 and X to super jump, try pushing forward only slightly on L Stick and Peter will jump high with a little forward movement. I find it useful for getting around enemy bases in stealth
Nice, this is a subtle yet great tip.
My favorite trick is pressing A mid wall run, it'll make Spidey web himself a short distance up the wall. If you do it back to back continuously, you'll get up the wall much faster.

Hi, I've been trying this and I'm still not sure what you mean? I tap L2 and it goes into aim mode briefly, but it doesn't seem faster. I've timed wall running up some buildings to see. Can you elaborate?

I also use LT to go into aim mode while I do it, but that's just a personal preference and isn't needed for the wall run zip. Hope it works now that I've given the correct directions lol. I'll edit the original comment.

You’re right and an oversight on my part. I assumed ps5 would have fov settings as it’s not complex? Surely it’s not that much more taxing on the system!?

If you dive and immediately swing into a wall-run, then the momentum of the dive carries into the wall-run. It's a good way to generate speed

I think it makes a difference on how you play for sure. High FOV and I'm swinging around like a crazy rabbit and low I'm more relaxed enjoying the scenery.

Awesome vid! One more pro tip is a web whip Spidey does over tops of buildings that is super challenging to nail down… you have to swing towards a building at the perfect angle right before the top of the building, then Spidey whips right over it kinda like Amazing Spider-man 2 opening scene. I have a swinging video I made myself on my channel where I pull off this maneuver several times if you wanna check it out! ;)

Hey deepkick? Here’s another tip for ya: Do the vertical point launch near a lamp post, followed by swinging at the last second before you hit the ground, and then you’ll go at like crazy fast speed during your swing.
