I super agree with this video, though I just updated from my 7 year old iPad Pro 10.5 to an iPad Pro 12.9 6th gen. Even though I primarily use my iPad for note taking it’s not that much of a dealbreaker for me to not get the “squeeze” function.
Exactly what am I thinking. It’s not about the new stuff, it’s all about how long the duration of use can be. It could still be strong and powerful five years later

Your videos are incredible, full of information and tips on how to use tools for the daily lives of Brazilian students . I would really like a new video talking about editing the videos created, after all your teaching is great.
I would look for a refurbished iPad Air or iPad Pro. $350 is much better than what it was before but some older iPads even the 2018 iPad Pro still out perform the 10th gen iPad. Plus, the 10th gen iPad is not compatible with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil which is a crime. I do love the 10th gen color options tho.
My last ipad is ipad pro 2017 i guess and it works well but im thinking about upgrading to ipad air 2024 because my current battery life sucks, so does the battery life deference worth it? How many hours of note taking does the battery last?
for mostly using the ipad for college would it really be worth buying the cellular option even though the college has wifi in the dorms, classrooms, etc?
personally i don’t think so, i’ve owned every sized of ipad at some point (M1 12.9 Pro, Mini 6, Air M1 and M2 11in Pro) and i think the 11in is great since it’s still portable and the bezels give you a bit of space to hold the device without the screen feeling horribly cramped
@@astrangerontheinternet1 I don't care about the problems of carrying the device or if it is heavier The weight difference is slight, the most important thing is during use, for example when using Good Note or editing photos, etc. Did you see any difference or problems?
I would think the larger IPad screens would be better for artist, , photographers , and maybe a few others, while the smaller Mini would be more compatible for students . Does one really need all that size and performance to take notes.
@@AdamEfratisplit screen on 11 inch is ok but stage manger would be horrible on it for my guess, i have the 13 inch amazing with multitasking but the downside is its hard to carry around

I believe you have to activate that feature in the settings. Check under control center and add the screen recording option. Then swipe down from the top right of your screen to select it.
Gonna try to wait for that Back to School sale to cop. I was gonna buy an Air 5 until I found out about that sale. Coming from a base model 7th Gen iPad will be fire. My battery has dying pretty rapidly even after turning off background app refresh and everything. I can wait for a good discount.
🔺️I am confused which one to use for taking Ipad air 13 inch Or Samung s9 ultra 15 inch Some says apple pencil is good for artist for not that good for handwriting Wheres samsung s pen is best for handwriting I am too confused
I have owned both, Samsung is way better for note taking. iPad is good only if you’re a digital artist, for note taking, studying, organize files and so on Samsung is definitely better
But apps like good notes and notability is in ios only And also if i choose samsung, i am worried about life span of samsung and durability also@lores996

Awesome review Bro as always ❤. I have a old 2017 ipad pro 12.9. I am still very Happy using it even now 😊 . It still works great with apps like - goodnotes, notability , apple notes , the apple gen1 pencil is also fine for me while writing and it gets my work done. I wish goodnotes had a infinite canvas like freeform app 😊. For all my serious works i always use my macbook pro M2.
Nooooooo Sammy 😂 I was secretly waiting for you to take a few notes on the 13”. Could you do it for the next video? Kinda miss the laid back note taking videos 🫶🏻
Another Great Video Samuel! I was looking to replicate the font that you write with. Could you please let me know what settings you use for this? Thanks so much!
do you have a guide on how to take notes as nice as yours? Mine look so basic. I don't think I'm using mine right or i'm not using even 40% of it compared to you who looks like you're using at 100%.
There is no quick way to take notes like that. It would have to be a hobby more than a productive way to study. If you don’t mind taking a while to make it pretty then by all means but I think it would be counterproductive in the long run.
If you don’t care about the landscape camera go for the M1 its accessories are less expensive, better refresh rate, u still get access to Apple Intelligence, the display is better, and the speakers are better.
The only difference is the camera placement and the Apple Pencil, and the refresh rate, for me i have the pro M1 and kinda want the 13 air but😂😂 its ok
@ I went with the 13 Air, I had both the M1 Pro and 13 Air and decided to go with the latter due to the weight difference. It’s not mentioned in any reviews but the weight difference between the M1 Pro and 13 Air is greater than the difference between the M4 Pro and 13 Air. This plus the pencil support with hover and click access plus landscape camera with centering sealed the deal for me. I couldn’t really tell a difference in the refresh rate or screen quality unless I was deliberately looking for it.
Android 60hz and 120hz is more noticeable than on the apple i have the 16 pro max and this ipad air a really is perfect tablet by the way I moved from samsung

The weight difference is slight, the most important thing is during use, for example when using Good Note or editing photos, etc. Did you see any difference or problems?
@@NIQ245 not really, especially if you have a second device like a PC or laptop. if just have the ipad i would go for larger 12.9in
@@astrangerontheinternet1 thank you
I would think the larger IPad screens would be better for artist, , photographers , and maybe a few others, while the smaller Mini would be more compatible for students . Does one really need all that size and performance to take notes.
I am considering the same thing, but I wonder how well is it to have a split screen on an 11" screen.
@@AdamEfratisplit screen on 11 inch is ok but stage manger would be horrible on it for my guess, i have the 13 inch amazing with multitasking but the downside is its hard to carry around
Samuel, I'm overjoyed to see you again. Love your videos and looking forward to more of what you share with us! 😊
Samuel i have a question for you! Can you make a video explaining step by step how to record the screen while doodling in the notetaking app (goodnotes)? 😊
I believe you have to activate that feature in the settings. Check under control center and add the screen recording option. Then swipe down from the top right of your screen to select it.
I’m just about to buy this iPad. What app are you using for your notes etc?
I use an app called GoodNotes
This is my first ipad and i love it
Gonna try to wait for that Back to School sale to cop. I was gonna buy an Air 5 until I found out about that sale. Coming from a base model 7th Gen iPad will be fire. My battery has dying pretty rapidly even after turning off background app refresh and everything. I can wait for a good discount.
Apple has an education discount on their website right now through September 30th.
I'm mad at TH-cam for not notifying me that Samuel posted.
🔺️I am confused which one to use for taking
Ipad air 13 inch
Or
Samung s9 ultra 15 inch
Some says apple pencil is good for artist for not that good for handwriting
Wheres samsung s pen is best for handwriting
I am too confused
I have owned both, Samsung is way better for note taking. iPad is good only if you’re a digital artist, for note taking, studying, organize files and so on Samsung is definitely better
But apps like good notes and notability is in ios only
And also if i choose samsung, i am worried about life span of samsung and durability also@lores996
Which is best, what did u choose I think ipad is better@@lakshaysingla168
I used to have this problem too, but I already have iPhone and MacBook, so an iPad was use a no brainer
Hi Samuel
Been seeing ur content for last few weeks and loved it..I'm thininkg of buying ipad air 2024 for note-taking purpose. What would be the best screen protector i should use glass vs paperlike vs matte..Is glass good for writing vs paperlike?
For me best would be a normal glass protector with a magnetic matte screen protector, for me paper like is a bit out of my budget
@ ohh.. i am currently using esr paperlike and it’s cheap and good
Awesome review Bro as always ❤.
Mehn check out the new updates, you should do a follow up video maybe after you try them out.
What note taking app are you using? I find the standard Notes app doesn't have the functionality I am looking for.
He’s using goodnotes 6 I think
Is the Ipad bending while writing at the intro???
I have no will power , you are so compiling and now I’m convinced 😅
Any heating issues in M2 pro?
Nooooooo Sammy 😂 I was secretly waiting for you to take a few notes on the 13”. Could you do it for the next video? Kinda miss the laid back note taking videos 🫶🏻
Is notability and goodnotes free?
no but there are options for one-time-purchase
I just got a Ipad air 5th generation, what app are you using to take notes?
Great choice, best free note taking app for me is CollaNote, cheap and nice features without needing to pay
Another Great Video Samuel!
I was looking to replicate the font that you write with.
Could you please let me know what settings you use for this?
Thanks so much!
Alternative pencil for ipad air M2
do you have a guide on how to take notes as nice as yours? Mine look so basic. I don't think I'm using mine right or i'm not using even 40% of it compared to you who looks like you're using at 100%.
There is no quick way to take notes like that. It would have to be a hobby more than a productive way to study. If you don’t mind taking a while to make it pretty then by all means but I think it would be counterproductive in the long run.
Trying to decide between 13” Air and an M1 IPad Pro 12.9”. Same price.
@@george-ng5gj wow that’s amazing yo hear, congrats
Android 60hz and 120hz is more noticeable than on the apple i have the 16 pro max and this ipad air a really is perfect tablet by the way I moved from samsung
Can you get your notes on the pc ?
Notepad storage is how much?
If use for taking note ,I think Samsung tab s9 is better, spen is better than apple pencil
I am planning to buy my new ipad which will be ipad Air 6. Will 128 GB be enough for my school purposes? And documenting all my paperworks. Or should I just get the Ipad Air 5 with 256GB😭BUT I WANTED SO BADLY THE APPLE PENCIL PRO
Anything you do with school will take practically zero space, documents will be a few MBs at most, it depends on what you're gonna download outside of school
128 or 256gb?
I have a 256gb iPad and I still have over 100gbs left. Plus, Apple will hound you to buy the 200gbs of cloud storage anyway so I’d go with the 128.
Hi Suresh, I am trying to buy new iPad Air and I have fifth generation iPad which was bought in 2018. I am now searching for an iPad which will help in note making & other work like office apps and other stuff which will be better for me please let me know your suggestions. Thank you.
Given the new iPad OS updates which should come out in a month, make sure you get an iPad with the Mseries chips if you want to have all the cool AI benefits and new note-taking benefits
Thank you! Really informative and useful review! 🙂
Love the detailed review.
I love your videos,I bought ipad because of your videos,Thank you for sharing
great video making and quality is amazing
Great video. Well done man.
which notes app you were using ?
should i upgrade? i have the mini ipad 3
If money is no obstacle then absolutely. You will be very pleased with the improvements. I remember being blown away when I upgraded from an iPad Air 2 to the current iPad form factor AKA the iPad Pro 2018. You would get the benefit of Apple Intelligence and a beautiful redesign.
I like your honesty, keep up the good work!
Should I buy 13 inch ipad air m2 or 11 inch ipad pro m4 for digital art and animation??????
For art the OLED panel is the best but the estate of the 13” screen can be essential
But the Air’s LCD is still awesome and the videos saying the blacks are gray are false. It has p3 so you should be fine with the Air
King is back! Lfgggg
Thank you for sharing
Just wanna ask, Goodnotes really consume battery doesn’t it?
I just bought the M4, but it still consumes 10% an hour, is that normal?
Try dunking it in a bowl of water before taking notes.
Hey there, which should I choose at these prices (Europe 💀):
iPad Air 6 (128GB) - 670€
iPad Air 5 (64GB) - 480€
iPad 10 (64GB) - 370€
I’m all about the note taking & Netflix, but no art student or similar.
Thank you all in advance :)
Tell me too which one are you buying I have the same interests like you
@@bondmeet2678 probably the Air 6 because of the longevity. I’ll need it for 6-7 years and the IPad 10 won’t stack up probably because of the slower chip and it could be troublesome for the Air 5 too. But not decided yet.
For notetaking and Netflix . iPad 10 is good option. However fir long term use, I would recommend air 6
