If there was ever a man's band, brother, you're looking at them!
There will NEVER be another generation like the 70-80's!! Our generations music will always rule the world ☝️! 🎶🎵🥁🎸🤘👍👏👏
you are mighty right sir !!! whos the other rythm guitar man i cant remember ???
is Blair Thornton@@FrankChesser
Perfectly said !
Amen brother
True. It was a time With true happiness....
Canada's greatest band, don't care what nobody says, got a absolute Viking on vocals.
I dint kno they were a Canadian band. Thanks for sharing that 👍
I'm not arguing they're not great but... with bands such as Heart, April Wine, Triumph, The Guess Who (which is the band Randy came from) and of course Rush, the argument can be made that there are a lot of great acts and its difficult to qualify the greatest because they're all different genres.
Peace out.
@Savatage1964 That's absolutely true, but I don't think Heart are Canadian, I'm going on how. Consistent they were, for example "Not Fragile" had no stinkers, (BTO had a few of those), also what I said is just one man's opinion.
@jasonferguson6753 Appreciate your position. Thanks for replying. 👍
EDIT: Also seems to be confusion about Heart after further inspection.
Some sources say Seattle, others Vancouver so...I dunno.
Not just any Viking, but a true Berserker!
Rest in peace, Robin Bachman --- February 18, 1953 - January 12, 2023 😥🥁💔
@@ranchlife8128, those guys were definitely motivators of a large part of the antics I got into as a wild eyed kid.;)
I didn't know , very sad , starting to see all my teenage idols pass away one by one 😢
Is the real name Robin
@@robintaylor485 Yes given name Robin, according to his obit. I was quite sure, not 100%.. now I am so thx for asking. Apparently my earlier reply was deleted because it had a hyperlink in it.
Always wondered what he was doing with that drumstick high in the air. Guess I’ll never find out. 😢
Raise your hand if you bought BTO's Greatest Hits back in the day.... on 8-Track!!!!
*Yes...I did*
It’s still stuck in the player.
@canamrider07 😅😅 That's pretty funny but 8-tracks never got stuck. The analog tape may have gotton wound around the capstan but in the end they never got "stuck".
Still have it - on cassette !
One of the most underappreciated gutar solos in rock history.
Definitely
I love it too but would have loved it more with some distortion pedal.
I'm 45 from Canada and raised on this stuff
Fred Turner had the greatest growl since John Fogerty!
'Fred'? I prefer 'CF' - sounds more like a train.
Saw CCR right after the release of BC, sat on the first row of the floor of a gym with him standing right in front of me and he played and sang BC as if straight from the LP. Don’t forget John Kay. His growl wa unique.
My favorite rock band - two vikings leading the band and all rock and roll - unforgettable!
Vikings ?? hilarious, they are Winnipeg Canadians 🙂
Fred Turner could have played Hagar the Horrible.
Viking ancestry, clearly@@jackbeam56
"VIKINGS"...
How APPROPRIATE!
YES, they reminded me of Tough Characters that were going to Champion and Fix the World's MESS!!!
😂 ❤
Te mmste
Love Fred Turners vocals. no one sounds like him.
He looks like a yeti with that big fur collar 😁 good old rock and roll.
Your so right!!
I didn't know his Rickenbacker was a single pickup
@todisom7141
😅🤭
I actually just saw Bachman with a pick up band. He has Mick Della Vee on bass and vocal. He (Mick) not only nails Turner’s voice on this song, but also nailed Cumming’s voice on These Eyes and Laughing!!
Love that song being a truck driver for 32 year's .
Lotta good "truckin" songs, and this one has got to be #1 !!
Ditto, since 1991
The music industry won`t allow timeless songs like this one to be made anymore.
Randy's guitar solo in the bridge is a work of art. Not very many songs released for pop radio dedicated so much time for a lengthy solo like that, but it was just too good to shorten down. Many kids, like myself, learned how to air guitar from this record. 🎸
robbie's sycnopated fills are perfect for it too. I always loved this song.
A Solo for the Ages!!One of the Greatest Guitar Solos ever
Randy Bachman Is a musical genius. He's playing that cool jingle jangle disco style rhythm & slams that Strat into OVERDRIVE for the BADDEST HOTTEST SOLO🎸🔥KUDOS Mr Bachman👉🍺🍕🎸BTO Gets me up in the morning to the Alarm Clocks warning👍🤠🌵⏰️Take the 8:15 into the City✌️😁🍺
Arguably the greatest rock and roll song of all time! Just unbelievable!
Blair Thornton brought this band to another level. Excellent rhythm playing...
He sure did! And Blair’s mighty easy on this ladies eyes, so handsome😍🤩🥳
This album dropped when I was a senior in high school. Good times 😊
In memory of Rob Bachman, who kept the beat going and became part of Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s success. “Roll On Down The Highway” remains my all-time favorite BTO song.
Mine, too!
Man, that guy may not have been the most complex player but his playing blended seamlessly into the songs. Kind've like Ringo. RIP Robbie, you're already missed.
Blessed to be born and then raised on this kinda music❤
I love ❤️ this music 🎶 🎵, the 70's were the best of times, the songs 🎵 ❤️ just moved you. They were apart of your youth and brought special memories and good times 🎉🎉
Rock n Roll doesn't get any better than this!!
Man I played this like mad . I was just a kid . My brother - in - law had a 66 Chevrolet with a 8 track tape player and BTO. Not Fragile “. He let me play this until I ran his car battery down . Memories .
That song reminds me of cruising around in my buddy's 69 396-375 hp Chevelle SS looking for street races in the Rubber City. Lots of muscle cars on the main drags and the song fit the times! This is probably one of my favorites from the band. 'Ain't Seen Nothin Yet' was peaking on the AM stations when I got my first car, a 66 Chevelle Malibu sport coupe! We were lucky to have lived in such an era.
Got 3 speeding tickets in 2 weeks while this was on the radio.
I love the vocalists outfit. That`s exactly how i imagine a canadian man who can survive without problems an arctic winter in the wilderness.
The 70's....Greatest decade for Rock....Hands Down....!
No doubt !
agree...
it was awesome
When men were men.
@@MAXIMUSMINIMALISTStop whining please; it’s not very manly
70’s Aerosmith, Nazareth, Early Heart, BTO, Ted Nugent, and of course Sabbath, Zeppelin and Purple. That was my early teen years!
I saw these guitar playing lumberjacks in Glasgow back in the 70's and the support band was Thin Lizzy. What a show! 🏴
Never was and never will be another bridge like the 3rd set, I could listen over and over again
The only problem with this song is it’s about 3 hours too short.
You got that right brother!!
This video and Chicago in Tanglewood w/ Terry Kath just crushing 25 or 6 to 4
@@jamesmcdermott1808 just watched that video. Never heard of that guy before. Pretty insane. He can solo forever. He’s Probably still going right now.
😮
Good One!
When this was blasting in the car it was difficult to obey the speed limit!!
I got my first ticket rocking to this song. In high school, driving my '69 Olds 442 four speed. Oh yeah!
RIP Robbie Bachman. You just joined a long list of drummers in Rock and Roll Heaven.
Great to hear that Robbie and the other drummers up there all put their trust in Christ. 1 Tim. 2:5
He's not on that list. He's way above
There was not a better friend in the world to have than Robbie Bachman.
@@3qdxAmen.....will they all be there...only God Knows....👍🇬🇧🤓
@@bapete5159 Yes you're right. Only HE knows who has put their trust in His Son. John 3:18. We ain't gonna make it via our good works. Take care and God Bless.
This song brings tears to my eyes!! So beautifully written and arranged! And such amazing raw power and energy!
Me too Mike. These were the best of my years :(
Awesome drummer❤
RIP Robbie Bachman.
Song of my youth
Man did I love this song when it was released !!!!
2024. I will always crank this to 11.
Me too! Love it! 😂
Still not loud enough!
They were a great sounding band and produced some excellent tunes.
I love driving down the highway blasting this great tune, a true road song, thanks for posting this gem!!
I had a set of Mind blowers in my Pinto. I'd be bouncing off the windows😊😊😊
The music critics couldn't stand BTO but who cares; they rocked.
Critics are 99% wrong about the music , If YOU love it who cares what they think !
@@RWildekrav66 Absolutely.
One of my all time favorite songs. As a retired truck driver this song speaks to me.
My favorite song from that year, 1975, the year I graduated.
I've posted many time about BTO not being very big here in England but to me they are phenomenal. One of my favourite bands. I don't know why they didn't hit the spot here . Awesome. Thank you Canada 🇨🇦
Great! Check out another Canadian band called TROOPER:: "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)", "The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car", "General Hand Grenade", "Janine", "Two for the Show", "Oh, Pretty Lady”, and "Santa Maria".
@@royjohnson465 thank you. I will look them up
Best band in the history of music. Period.
The fur coat just ADDS another level to the BEASTLY VOCALS ! I did see them live once . My memory is a little " fogged " , but I swear it was at The Fillmore East . The air was ALWAYS THICK there ! However , the Fillmore may have been closed BEFORE they toured . If anyone can fill that in , it was definitely in NYC .
I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon in 1975 and Thin Lizzy were the support group.
What a night grin 😁 👍
Such an underrated band. Great rock songs, this being one of them...
no kidding..
top ten
Who underrated them?
2:12
That “word” again…😛
Fred Turner looking like a grizzly bear.
He’s wearing a blonde colored grizzly bears fur on his coats collar. For sure he does!
I was a freshman in hs when this hit. Truly the best era of music.
Saw them when I was a senior in '77 !
Loved BTO, grew up with them, down here in Australia.
Thank God we have this music video
Badass Canadian rockers we love them dearly down in Tampa
First concert I went to at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver!
Awesome!
Such great memories. They don't have musicians or music like this anymore. So sad!
What a fantastic guitar solo!
Bachman Turner Overdrive - Roll On Down The Highway
I had the greatest experience seeing them in concert twice! Flint Michigan 73/75
Ive been a fan now for over 45 years and I'm still listening to them. 'Rock is my life ( and this is my song )' is just perfection. BTO Forever!
Brilliant guitars fantastic singers with brilliant lyrics and fantastic vocals 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Oh he ain't resting, if he made it to Heaven, GOD has him busy, what an awesome voice !!!!!!
Lord, that Randy sure could play ! 🙏🏻❤️🎸
2024- Fred Turners Vocals are INSANE!..The ENTIRE TRACK is the Epitome Of A HARDCORE 70's BANGER!!✌️
To me this was their best song!!!!!
Such an underrated song and underrated rocking band
Touche' We grew up with the best music ever!
Another sad loss in the music world. Rest In peace Robbie. Gone way too soon 🥁
Still, one of the greatest Rock and Roll bands of all time.
Proto Metal Bands
Never got the respect they deserved. Best Canadian rockers ever !!
😂
The greatest. #1
great memories back in the 70's......rock n roll! fun times
RIP Robbie Bachman. You will be a great drummer in heaven!!!!
This song gives me the chills at 120 miles per hour...
It's very soothing at 168
got to see them in concert several times in the 70s. cant go back to that time but the memories will do...
Lucky you!
1'55'' The most beautiful solo of all time
Something magic here.
Canadian rock at its best!
Awesome tune. Brings me back as a child in elementary school. Rock n roll at its finest. 😎 🤟🤟
they need to be in the rock n roll hall of fame.
This hit when I was a junior in high school. I remember blasting this over the radio listening to CKLW. One of my all-time favorites of the 70s. I was disappointed this didn't chart higher (it peaked at #14 on the Hot 100).
CKLW....weather, on the AM dial, O buddy, you just put me on a time warp, another lifetime, another World, with my solid state transistor.
@@jasonferguson6753CKLW was the station of choice for me and my classmates here in North Central Ohio during the early-mid 70s. Fun fact: Despite being located in and licensed by Canada, it ran neck and neck with WLS in Chicago for the #2 radio station in the U.S. in the late 60s and first half of the 70s.
I love his voice ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the way Big Red just comes out of no where and starts belting it out
RIP Robbie Bachman.
Brings back memories of camping trips, drinking on the beach, swimming, all good things!
I am soon to be 66 and though I loved all the music Randy Bachman made I never knew that Fred Tuner was the grit and growl in B.T.O it is amazing and at 80 his voice was like thunder I love Randy Bachman but wow I guess it is true you are never too old to learn something new.
Very nice mixture of Gibson and Fender + power vocals
Randy good lead guitar player BTO 😊
Ive'heard a lot of rocknroll bands
But when I think about it
Bto is my favorite band of all time
I'rember exactly where I was at when I first
Heard roll on down the highway
It was great''
Iam a 90s baby but i always loved this band growing up
Remember driving boulder canyon in Colorado in my dad's convertible mga blasting" LET it roll "in 1975 the yr i graduated high school. Still feel that freedom when i hear this song.♥️♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸
Now Pay Attention Kiddies! THIS is a ROCK’N-ROLL SINGER, Singing in a ROCK’N-ROLL BAND. AND Yes that guy up there playing guitar REALLY just played that solo.
My favorite BTO song!
Such a great song and such a great band. Heard it many a time on WLS-Chicago during my 70s childhood. Thanks for posting. It is so easy for great songs to get lost in the shuffle. I haven't heard this one in quite some time. Glad for it to be back on my radar.
I live at the border of Kentucky and Tennessee and WLS was our go to radio station of a night when we could pick it up..............John Records Landecker....Was a great time..
Heck yeah .wolf man Jack and Larry Lujac! Animal stories to..
I was north of you by Lake Geneva, Wi. WLS with Larry LoJack & Snotnose Tommy were the BEST!!!

Favorite BTO song.
BTO tore it up !
I still fondly remember the moment while driving with my Dad down the length of the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway in Ontario in May 1975 when this song came over the car radio. One of the great road anthems.
One of the few rock bands i have never got to see and deeplly regret it
So underrated , real talent
Randy the master of the guitar , i remember watching a video of him playing the guitar with a drum stick , the guy can sure bend them strings .
YOU AIN'T HEAR NOTHING YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He looks ready for the long Canadian winter.
Was 13 when I heard this for the first time. Gave me a kick in the mouth I still remember. Simply fkg brilliant rock...
Como eu amo o som de BTO, solado da guitarra, maravilhoso.
