Randy Bachman and C.F. "Fred" Turner were the core members of Bachman-Turner Overdrive throughout their commercial heyday in the 70s. smarturl.it/BnTrosebowlcddvdblu Between them they also composed the vast majority of the band's many hit singles.
Reuniting at the end of 2009 they released an eponymous album in 2010 and in November of that year they performed at the famous Roseland Ballroom in New York City as part of their North American tour. This video was filmed at the show.

Dang Straight!!
So sad that Robbie Bachman, the Drummer of Bachman Turner Overdrive passed away. BTO will always be one of my top favorites Rock Bands!!! Comforting prayers to his family & friends & fans.
R.I.P Robbie Bachman
No need 2 be sad, he is working overtime
Robbie 1953 2023❤
Tim joined him on 4/28/2023. ☹️
Now Tim
Rest in eternal peace, Robbie Bachman 🙏🏼🕊️❤️
I'm 52 and saw them live with VanHalen when I was 17. They are timeless!! Sound awesome!!!
@1969jodylandry I saw that tour, and BTO also had Leslie West of Mountain so they would finish their set with "Mississippi Queen".
@randybachmanoffcial God bless you and your entire family Randy.
I saw the same show in Portland Maine I think about 85 or 6 .
Im only 60, this my era, its good to see young people loving this old music, its got soul......NZ
I feel the same exact way
You can’t not like this song. Transcends genres, tastes and eras.
I love this song at age 71. Makes me wanna dance
well, you can not like it, then you can go back to russia !!
Even teens today love this song!!!!❤
It's a horrible song lol
40 million disagree @@stephenmacisaac5820
This song and Sweet Home Alabama came out at about the same time in the early ‘70’s; I was 28 at the time. For years they were my two favorite songs, and nearly 50 years later they’re still two of my all time favorites. I come here often and this song puts a smile on my face every time. I’m old, but I ain’t dead.
exactly the same for...........
I ain't dead either honey an olden over 60. You should see me with my Harmonica that l play to this grand era stuff shaking my booty down...mx
Sir. You have immaculate taste in music.
BTO RULES . Still remember cranking this tune in my 1965 Nova SS with a Pioneer Supertuner and 6x6 jensens. O BABY DID IT!
I drove a 72 Nova !
Still one of the best rock n’ roll bands from Canada!
Im only 17 and i enjoy this era of music over todays
Good listening 👌!!!
Congratulations, mate. This is real music. Cheers!
Good for you my friend, explore more, like the Doobe Brothers and Romantics, what i like about you, see what you think......NZ
There’s good music being made today as well. There’s just tons of questionable music as well. Frank Zappa nailed when he described the music business in the 90’s as more difficult to do cool things than the late sixties. “I’m the Slime”
Its REAL!!!!
Man this is awesome. The band were sweet and Paul looks like he was having a awesome time. Kids this is REAL MUSIC.
DAMN SKIPPY
😣 paul is ruining this song, saw this band and they sound better than they do here !
Amen
Paul *always* looks like he's having fun when he's playing.
I love seeing people doing what they love like that!
My 85 year old mom actually liked this song ! What blew me away is that she even knew all the lyrics. She would start dancing to it. Where that came from I'll never know.
Think about it,
Your 85 yr old grandmother was in her 40s when BTO was rockin' the world.
Gates, i my dad were living, he would be 90, and he loved this song.
God blesses her every day!
@@MrDoneboy Thank You !
Cool 😎😎👍👍
They still sound fucking awesome.
Paul Shaffer looks like he'd be the funnest guy to jam with. He's into it 110%!
I know it is so cool
So True!
He is Happy ...no more Dave Papperboy..
As a heart starter, this is better than coffee in the morning. A classic ROCK song and if you can't move to this music, you're dead!
makes u wanna dance
Taking Care Of Business Every Day.....Blue Collar Rock for all that were young when this song was number one.....Bachman Turner on the radio or the 8 track made us feel invincible, because they were and still are.....
Oh my lord. One of my favorite songs ever. I love BTO
I love BTO. My first rock album in 1975. Randy, Fred, and the overdrive. Rock on!
BTO could be heard full blast in my GTO car stereo across the HS parking lot surrounded by my buddies, all the way down in Laredo Texas. BTO kicked ass.
I was a singer in a cover band in my teens. This was one of our favorite songs to play!! Still love it!! ROCK ON!! 🎤🎸
Bunch of 50 years olds hopping around like teenagers....i love it!
I love this band! In my mind one of the greatest classic rock bands ever they're just so fun and so talented! Love Randy Bachman!❤
Agree , Plus this band is only 2 hours away from me when they started out 🍷🍷🎸🎸
And Fred Tirner on bass. He has an ever beyyer rock voice! There would have been no BTO with the T - Turner! God bless Randy and Fred - a great team! 🙌 🙏 ❤️ 💖 ✨️
Paul Schaffer's rocking so hard. The man's a machine.
One of the greatest rock songs of all times 🎸
Yes is it. Great era
I agree❤❤
" WORDS TO LIVE BY" TCB TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS ! AMEN ☠👍
Love Pauly on Keyboards...just FUN!
Back in high school in the 70s, cruising the town, it was always 4:20 with BTO and Guess Who. Great songs and great legends
Me too lol ❤
If you're not rocking your head to this music, you just don't know good clean fun when you hear it. Nothing more innocent than classic rock! BTO FTW!
It's nowhere near innocent, but good old rock and roll is the best genre there is. No genre can ever or will ever top rock and roll.
If you aren't wiggling in your seat to the beat why do you listen???? This music has wiggle written ALL over it!!!
@@clouddancerstunes883
\\ 👠// doing that now !!
With you all the way bro d*** good music.
Some of the lyrics are terrible.Great song though.
To play like this after all these years ! Just mindblowingly awesome !!! BTO- true legends !
This video inspired me to become a musician when I was 8. Here I am today at 16 still chasing that dream!
Wow! I'm impressed. His voice hasn't weakened at all!
Sounds awesome!
These guys rock! I'm 15 and LOVE them!
Awesome! Paul Schaeffer on the piano a nice add...kickin!
How can you listen to this song and not get up dance, sing your heart out and not play the air guitar?! BTO and the Guess Who! Amazing Canadian bands! This is the song of my youth! Thanks for posting!
Just thinking about that, they just plugged in and played and were great
This is the music I miss from my teens. Doesn't get any better than the 70's awesome music. ❤️
l'm playing this song on guitar right now
@@jeremysmith6136 Rock on, you crazy diamond! 🎸🎵
Gee, I just broke a string on my air guitar while I'm playing along with this song :-))
Happy 75th Birthday Randy Bachman
75? Christ, where have the years gone. Great music BTO.
@@johnkuipers7829 Right...I was just wondering how those white hairs in my auburn hair comes from...guess it has to do with how quickly the years go by! 🎵
Great Band! Grew up listening to them …. OBVIOUSLY still listening to them 50 years later….
I remember it like it was yesterday, man time flies. Great band..
@randy bachman♪offcial something about you guys but us Americans really liked still watch a lot of your videos.
REST in Power and Peace, Robbie. You were an awesome drummer.
My band covered this when it was in the charts. They're doing a respectable job for geezers, much better than I could these days.
It is neat seeing older people perform. They know their music so well. I'm no youngster and appreciate good music.
So true Nancy !!! BTO still Rock !!! Check out , " Doesn't Matter Where Or When ," an original rocking song and video on my site . Thanks Adam Holtz
Fantastic rocker from their second album released in 1973 !!! Great concert !!! They still rock !!!
This song sounds so cheerful, so upbeat, so energetic and enthusiastic. Like it could put you in a good mood. Ahhhh. 🤗
Saw Randy Bachman In West Vancouver, BC Canada and He Rocks The World
Randy Bachman such a rock icon!!!
So happy to see Paul
He doesn't get enough credit as an outstanding musician
And to think of the "WORK" that went into this song for anyone who has ever tried it and how they got their name (look it up) should blow you away!
Listening in 2024! Seen these guys in concert in New Orleans, Louisiana❤️💯💯🤘🏻❤️ Loved it, bad ass 💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻💯
Really, is band still touring?🎉🎉
Idk this was a long time ago lol
Great story! Thanks for serving our country!
This made me smile and stomp my feet. Great band and Paul Schaffer knocked it out of the park on the piano.
I thought that looked like Paul!
Paul Shaffer was BADASS on the organ piano
Mr. James, science
To be credited
pure Rock'n Roll - awesome
I love Takin' Care of Business and have loved it since the first time I heard it. It gets your body moving to the music as well as your hands and feet tapping to the music. I think BTO found a very shy audience who were unsure of the quality of each one's vocal tones. I myself would have jumped on the stage and started singing as soon as he asked.
I think its great that these 70s rockers are bringing their music into these times 2013. It sure beats the hell out of the CRAP that's made today. ROCK ON RANDY!!
Happy 75th Birthday C.F. 'Fred' Turner
Canadian Folks Rock! Everyone was very Kind and Nice to me when I was there. Thank You!
Paul always made the guest bands look and sound good on Letterman for many years and this is a good example of just how good of a musician he is in his own right. Being an old dog myself, I like to see old dogs let out to howl now and then! LOL I remember Elvis had jewelry with the initials "TCB" ..... takin care of business! Great performance. From what I understand, the inspiration for the song came from a blind sound engineer that made it to work everyday by taking the train into the city, all on his own. He was good at what he did and was reliable, which is more than can be said for some fully abled folks....terrific song to sing while you're rushing to be at work on time!!
Very well said...
Ah I knew that face looked familiar.
these guys need to be in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame what are they waiting for
Payola :)
Listen to that steady Bass and then that rhythm just takes off. Good dancing music.
Those guys could out rock the majority of today's bands.
"People see you having fun just a-lying in the sun, Tell them that you like it this way, It's the work that we avoid, and we're all self-employed, We love to work at nothing all day" !!!! Amen brother !!!👍
Old good Rock'n'Roll. I like It.
Nothing beats pure badass ROCK N ROLL, nothing ever will
This was my dad's absolute favorite song! As crazy as it sounds, we played it at the funeral home, with immediate family only. He would have LOVED it!
Best song about the financial world as it turned out. This song makes me smile and dance, has done it for decades.
These guys are amazing! Had this on vinyl when I was a teen.
What a performance a classic rock song from a top class outfit
Loved BTO Randy thanks for the memories of my the mid 70s. Great music before I deployed to Okinawa with the United States Marine Corps, 1974, 19 yrs old. Where has to time gone?
Very sad day may you rest in peace brother bachman
Rock is Rock and this is Rock at it's best. Love these guys.
Randy Bachman is one of my heroes of rock simple as
the best rock i've ever heard
Oh man this is my favourite song. I'm self employed and just love the fun in the words - " it's the work we avoid and we're all self employed" has go to be the most ironic line for any self employed person. Can't ever help but grin when I play this. I run a rope access company and our motto is " we don't work, we just hang around"
Yes, as any self employed person knows, YOU are the last one to get paid!
@@ToddSauve In a well balance economy we need both big and small businesses they each have their niche. We need more smart, honest and hard working small mid size business entrepreneurs in USA to create more good jobs, but yet form loosely coupled association to survive against the big business and together negotiate the best healthcare package for our families.
Amén!
I'm always love music from the 60' and 70' they don't make music like that anymore
Love this one too! :) Fun, classic. Workin' overtime at nothing. Love it! RIP Tim Bachmann.
GREAT BAND!!! LOVE THE 70'S ❤️
I’ve seen Randy Bachman play this live and all the BTO/Guess Who material. They even shook the house with their version of Shaking All Over
The voice of Turner is awesome.
been diggin this since the 70's i'm jammin it on my tele now! like being a kid again!
Cf turner still can jam on that bass for being 80
@randybachmanoffcial I saw bto back in the 70s the first rocking band I ever saw
TAKIN' CARE OF BUSINESS EVERY DAY, TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS EVERY WAY, NOW, ENOUGH TO WORK AT NOTHIN' ALL DAY!
Woohoo!!! I am CRAZY about this song!!! Love it!!
Saw BTO live in 1976. Still ranks as one of the best I've ever been to. Pure rock....
where?
@@onefatstratcat Vancouver. It may have been spring of 77. Don't remember the exact date but I do remember the girl I was with when I went!
I saw them summer of 1976 Iowa State Fair. Their warm up group was Heart
Listening to this, eyes closed and I am back in the 70s, dad still alive, roast lamb for Sunday lunch followed by a snooze! Ageless....
@Fear the duck 666: Listening to this with my eyes closed, I am back in the 70's with my hash pipe! ❤
it was the summer of 73 before my freshman year of high school when this album came out ..we danced all summer long with the girlies playing this over and over..man what memories..was never a big paul shafer fan until now ...
Incredible band, incredible people, incredible song.
yes
Saw this band with original line up. The half a ton of rock n’roll tour 1986!! One of the best concerts I have ever attended.
Just watched professor of rock interview with Randy Bachman on the history of this song. Search for it, its all because of the pizza guy that played piano. The history in that interview is outstanding, the persistence of this song perpetual. This song has deep deep roots and was also Elvis's mantra.
Still awesome after all these years
Just as good as it ever was! Love it!
man i just needed this right now and was super Fun! TY. 🤗
Superb
RIP...Robbie Bachman January 12, 2023
That was incredible! This music will Always be rockin! Great song. These guys still got it
