I realize this is an older video for an older drone. I bought a used DJI Air 2 drone (and I recently seld my DJI Mini 2 drone, which I barely used). I just wanted to familiarize myself with the Air 2 since it is "new to me", & I am fairly new to the "drone world". I have seen other DJI drone videos on TH-cam for other DJI drones, including reviews. I must say, your video is TOP NOTCH!!! It is VERY precise & you covered tips & suggestions I have seen NO WHERE else, especially while the drone is in the air. WOW...great job!!! I bookmarked this video, and I wish & hope other "set-up" / tutorial videos are this concise, so the viewer knows what EVERYTHING means or does. I liked this video & you certainly have me as a subscriber. Thanx!

I had to buy this drone a week before I had to deploy to South Africa. Now that I'm settled in, I have some time for myself. I am so happy to come across your channel. The other ones breeze through what they call the "beginners'" set up however, they are talking to themselves and not to beginner audience. I had hard time following them. Your video is very easy to follow with less technical jargon and focused to me as beginner like your title said. You and your family are more than welcome to come to SA and have free lodging, transportation and food on me 😂 to get around and explore this part of the world via great footages as well. By the way, where I am at is very drone friendly having less to nothing drone flying restrictions. Thank you and all the best.

Great Video, Just got my air 2 so there's nothing like watching someone who has done it before and is sharing basically the beginning of the journey of droning. I like your style, your not boring, meaning it's like your talking to me and not advertising for dji. Good job enjoyed every minute. And to boot I learned a lot which turns into confidence. Because for me this is my first drone, and to be honest I have somewhat some confidence if I do say so myself. You have to have the hand eye co-ordination or maybe you should find another hobby. Anyway looking forward to learning more about the quickshots and filming in general. Looking forward to the great photography and videos that can be made.

Note to purchasers of the Flymore combo: The charging equipment and props came to me in small boxes, located in the shipping box. I thought I was missing the filters and, most importantly, the cord for charging the controller. I finally found those in zipper pocket inside the carrying bag. Having to search for these items can be annoying when you excitedly want to get everything charged and on to flying. Anyway, another really good job with this video, Ed.

Having a total of three batteries included in the Fly More Combo is a great deal. The individual price of purchasing a single extra battery alone warrants diving into the Combo. The Charging Hub, ND Lens, Shoulder Bag...all add up significantly when purchased separately; although the bag wont accommodate even a single Guinness. tic
    Great presentation.

This is best tutorial Video i have ever seen ,
one question:- Do we need Internet on our mobile to fly drone,
if we dont have internet on Mobile, will it return home option works ,

    • @TicTac-g7m
      @TicTac-g7m 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Internet is required for activation. But after that, you can fly it with just the remote (no phone or tablet) if you want to, but you lose all visual display and telemetry data and most special flight modes.
But nice to know it's there!
My DJI Spark can do "remote only" too.
RTH will work just fine with remote-only (after required activation) if I understand correctly.

Quick question. Mine will be delivered tomorrow. If signal is lost and RTH height is set to 180’, if it’s under an object will it essentially try to raise up to the 180’ height and hit whatever may be above it since it doesn’t have top sensors ?

Yes, it could possibly crash that way. I'm not sure it would try to return to home if you didn't have a GPS lock though, and depending on whatever structure you're underneath it may have lost GPS entirely. But yeah, best thing to do in that situation is just not lose radio control of the drone.

In addition to what Ed has noted, suggest you download the Mavic Air 2 Owners' Manual from DJI. Read the section regarding the different scenarios of RTH. They are not all the same. Also strongly recommend that you follow the DJI method of accurately establishing the Home Point, prior to doing any flying. Basically, rise 30' in the air. Hover for about 10 seconds or so (or until the little lady says - 'Home point ....'). Once that is done, charge off and have fun. Also make sure you understand the dual function of the RTH button. Another caution, if you drain the battery to the red zone, the drone is coming out of the sky, no if's and's or but's about it. Seen a couple of these on some You Tube channels, especially with those guys that just have to try their luck at Range Testing.

    Ed... Liked the info.
Have had my MA2 for four weeks, and only have two/three flights on it. I have issues with jerky/lagging video. Have chatted (on line) with DJI twice. Only thing they have suggested is down load the firmware updates - Again. Did that. Still jerky in video recording. Did make one recent adjustment - changed from the 265 to 264. Did a small test. Smooth image feed. Will check this on a longer flight this week.
Also, I strongly recommend that everyone that has a DJI drone, that you download the appropriate manual, rather than rely on the abbreviated, small print manuals that come with the drone. They get you started, but seriously lack in the more detail info which is good for everyone to know about their drone.
Just a thought - when the FAA starts requiring Hobbyist to have a pilot's certificate, they might start doing what are know as O & P type testing. O&P = Oral and Practical test. Part of the Oral would probably require knowing what is in your Owners' Manual. The P part would require the applicant to demonstrate proper handling of the drone, and emergency procedures. (I can just hear the grumbling and complaining now.....) You know its coming to that if you hold a Part 107 Certificate.
    Cheers.....

Hey Ed, thanks for your information video and overview. I have 2 questions.
    1. Does the DJI air 2 app have a Flight plan like the Parrot Anafi?
    2. On the RTH is it possible to get the drone to hover say 20m above ground rather than descend to ground. I'm thinking sometimes you don't want the drone to land maybe because there are people around or you may be on a boat that is swinging in the wind and tide. You want it to RTH but stop above the water/ground so that you can take over and land it on the boat deck for instance.

Awesome video! DO you know if this is a requirment right now "Drone operators to pass an online aeronautical knowledge and safety test and carry proof of test passage." On FAA, it says "changes coming soon", so it's a bit unclear. Thanks!
