    I had a lesson this past spring. The instructor immediately targeted my takeaway much like in this video. Once I was able to get the feel of it right (and then the feel of the first move down) it drastically improved my game this summer. Good stuff.

    For someone who takes the hands outside to start, like myself, this will feel crazy at first. Video of yourself is definitely needed. At full speed hands will still probably need to work in more than expected while club stays out. For me it always feels like I have a loop in there on full shots. Should you I have this inside hand, outside club feel on shots that are 3/4 length?

      Agreed....
      Yes....
      You want to FEEL whatever gets the club riding ride back up the plane line during the backswing (line up the shaft at setup)

    Eric, I’ve enjoyed your videos for quite some time. I’m a senior (71) golfer with a current handicap of 16. I’ve gravitated to using more Mizuno hybrids than irons. Would you please devote an episode or two about the hybrid swing vs irons and a detailed video of setup and grip, especially the right hand. Much appreciated.

      Me too! I tend to get too laid off at the top and end up coming over the top and across. Should do a follow up to this “Easiest downswing” then I’d be good to go!

      I’m in Windsor Ontario close to Detroit. Where are you at? Do you get private lessons?

      Hey Steve!
      We are mainly in Boca Raton, FL and some summer time in Pennsylvania.
      As of now all of my in person lessons are full but will likely open some spots over the winter!

    • @SteveLeach-ti4yx
      @SteveLeach-ti4yx ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending where you were at in Pennsylvania, it would not be too far from me again, depending on where you’re at. But that would be in the summertime unfortunately.

    A good feel for me is to feel like I’m pushing down a little with the heel of my left hand. It keeps me in the right position. Setup, take away, and downswing.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That works if that produces the correct motions!

    Great video as usual! I saw that you said it’s the same concept with driver. Should your hands be close enough to still brush your thigh with the tee with driver in hand? Or is it just the same feel but not quite touching?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Josh!
      In a neutral setup, the arms & hands hang straight down (nearly vertical) if you just relax them...forming a straight line down right over the toe line with your wedges through the shorter irons. Your arms & hands gradually extend outward slightly (outside the toe line and toward the ball) as the clubs get longer...so the brushing aspect may progressively fade away as the clubs get longer, but the FEEL should remain the very same :)
      Hope this helps you!

    Good stuff. If you just do nothing but keep your hands in on the take away, its a big improvement.

    Hello, where would you hinge the left wrist by pressing the heal pad down on the shaft while initiating bsw?

    I play off a 1 HCP and this is by far the worst part of my game my hands get way outside and this is taking so much time to fix lol 😂 I’ve hit about 1000 balls in the last month still not there lol it’s ungodly difficult to groove this into my takeaway I practice and rehears then hit it and it’s the opposite 😂

      I have faith in ya!
      I would do 20-30 reps as close to daily as possible for the next 6 months
      Record each one with video and check
      Only go as fast as you can do the motion perfect. That may be 10% to start.....as soon as it gets off slow back down. Build from 10-20-40-60-80% etc
      Start at 10% each session and build back up
      That should do it ASSUMING you're fixing the root cause of WHY it goes out in the first place
