I've been filling my sketchbooks with circles, boxes, cylinders and gesture drawings. And the most important part is that I enjoy doing so. Also Thank you as always, Jess.

Jess keeps laying out a road map for developing and improving skill! If a sketchbook is too intimidating in the beginning and you don't want to keep your gesture drawings forever, rough newsprint and charcoal is a great, affordable material for high volume, temporary drawings. Make sure to get rough (not smooth) newsprint, because it needs to have enough "tooth" to grab the medium. We are loving these instructional videos!

I recently got back into my sketchbook after years not picking a pen or a pencil and just draw. After watching this video has left me inspired to continue to draw. And also to continue to work on achieving my dream of becoming an artist/Illustrator. But for now i'm just keep on practicing and just enjoy creating.

breaking anything into shape helps so much, not just with humans but any subject that you want to draw. i find that it helps with qa lot with new subjects i want to draw. and highlighter are great to use when trying to get loose flowing drawings

Very eye opening! Love the simplicity and at the same time detail you acquire with color and different strokes of a pencil, pen or even a marker. Form drawing has never been my forte but you make it look extremely easy and approachable. Your last painting is absolutely exquisite, full of expression and movement. Thank you for always sharing your art with us. ✏️🖌🖍🎨😍♥️♥️

Another beautiful video filled with inspiration. I can't stop mentioning how your channel has awakened my passion for drawing and painting that had been put on hold for so many YEARS! I mean over a decade of keeping that fire flickering inside me and just not making any room for it to flourish. Between 2021, 2022 and what is passed of 2023 has been the most I've dedicated to drawing (not masterpieces) but just keeping it going... and I have been loving it! It's the most I've been in love with life because of what I've been learning I can create. Thank you for that; you've made a huge impact with your beautiful videos that by the way have improved so so much in production. I'M HERE FOR IT!
Also, since you touched on the styling subject, I recently noticed how you often make feet look a little bit larger for your figures. I'm not sure why but I LOVE THAT! It's very visually pleasing to me.
I've been falling in love with the imperfections of lines and shapes and absolutely making an effort to apply it to my art while practicing. Less details and more flow of lines.

Same feeling here... I am so thankful to come across Jess's channel on TH-cam while I was on my second maternity leave from my job as a primary school teacher.... She really ignited the spark of creativity in me into a full fledged fire..... Though it's still to hard for me to make out time for my hobby from my two young kids and a job in hand..... But still I try hard to do it....
Any thankful note is just as less to describe how much I thankful to JESS KARP along with a few more people who inspired me right here on TH-cam. REALLY REALLY THANKFUL TO YOU. GOD BLESS YOU ALL🥰🥰❤❤❤❤

Stunning and great practice and I hope to really start diving deeper into enjoying practicing.
It can feel tedious prepping my space then staring at a blank white canvas.
You have given me confidence to draw and just practice and enjoy the process. Let my mind flow and relax.
My skills increasing give me more range, style and what ever my imagination wants to produce comes out so much better then before. Because my mind can reference more freely with out the physical objects now.
I truly loved the last painting. Just stunning. I was not expecting so much detail from one brush, her facial details and the colors I'm for highlights on her dress were amazing.
Thank you for sharing and helping me learn.

For some reason, your recent videos reminded me about an English teacher I had in high school. She had a poster near the classroom door that said "Yes!" on it. And she told the class that if anyone ever wanted or needed to to just slap the poster, whatever the reason. She believed that the act of doing so fueled positivity. I feel like watching your videos is like slapping the "Yes!" poster. That sounds a little funny, but you just have that "Yes!" effect. Sadly, I never slapped the poster, but I do make art after watching your videos. I'm always so grateful that you're willing to share so much.

Love the use of different drawing tools and how the painted drawing came to life💖. A hug for Matilda 😸

I remember someone on TH-cam saying if you want to grow as an artist, to stick to one area and learn it. I disagree and I am happy you do too and encourage people to use different tools. I am finding that as if I try and learn new skills with a new medium, it will help me be a better artist with a different medium. Eg. I can paint and have managed a self portrait that looks like me and another of my kitty that looks like her, but if I don't work on my drawing and pencil skills, my oil paintings will still lack something and I wont really understand perspectives and have the courage to create intricate details. For me, its all about doing what I enjoy and I keep changing and I am finding that I love many different mediums, as they all offer something unique.
