Of all the memories I have some come to mind.... the simplicity of life at my grandfather's property (1970's). From waking us up at 5 am to drink milk straight from the cow to the smells of home cooked meals in the kitchen. I can still remember that house. Too bad that it was lost due to a river overflowing and taking it away.

I remember when I created a beautiful gradient in a sky sunset and my Gran said “Oh Michael, this is wonderful! I could not have done it any better!” She taught me watercolor painting and this happened over 50 years ago, thank you for bringing this memory back to me today through this sketchbook tour. Thank You.

What I find most refreshing when you share your art is the fact that you don’t say anything negative about it. You don’t point out mistakes or things that you don’t like, it makes for a very enjoyable experience for us to appreciate your work. ❤❤❤🇨🇦

    Dear Jessica,
After watching you silently for about three years, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because of you I bought a sketchbook and took it wherever I went. Drawing in a museum on a sketchbook is amazing!!! Till now I am drawing everyday and see the beauty in life. And also going through difficult times my sketchbook is always there to listen. Art truly heals!
Your sketchbook is as always miraculous 🥰 and how u are dancing. Mamma Mia! I love dancing Latin dances too. You have burnt the floor. I always agree if someone is talented, the person is talented everywhere.❤️❤️❤️❤️

A simple but meaningful moment… Just the other day, I asked my son for a hug. He’s a teenager, so you know those are always special! Lol we both struggle with Disabilities, and we are both exploring art as a way to cope… He is learning guitar and I am a traditional artist. I’ve been drawing since I was very small, but only recently decided that as I lose my eyesight to a rare genetic disorder, I would explore every medium and push my skills as far as they can go. I’ve always loved graphite but I can’t use it anymore, It’s almost impossible for me to see on the page. So I use bold line and high contrast and do my best :-) I really enjoy your style of sketchbook tour, makes it easier for someone like me to see what’s going on, with all your descriptions and bold expressive style :-) thank you❤️

Dear Jess, thank you for being such an inspiration to me. I've been following your work for 1 year now and, honestly you, are the reason why I continue to draw and grow as an artist. Seeing how you're able to tell a whole story on one page is magical to me. I hope one day to be able to do that too and maybe inspire other artists like you did for me.
And to answer your question from a warm memory, it was the first day I was able to draw after a long period of depression. Holding a pencil again after a long time and giving color to a blank paper made the world have color again.

Jess, I just want to thank you for sharing your talent and light out into the world. As a longtime art hobbyist, your work has always greatly resonated with me. Currently, I’m working, putting myself through college, and raising my nephew all at once, so life hasn’t given me a lot of energy to sit down and create. But every time your videos pop up on my feed, im reminded of how beautiful and free this medium of expression is, how soul enriching. For the first time in months, I sat down and drew today. Its certainly not the greatest thing i’ve ever made, but the fact remains-i’ve created. And it was you who inspired it. Thank you so much.

Jess, I do want to thank you for all that you share with us. Since I found you here in YT I have not stopped watching all of your videos. You have no idea how you have impacted my artistic life. As old as I am, I am blessed to have found someone that has inspired me to create again. There are some days that I get discouraged and life gets to me but all I do is go and watch your videos. I can't believe I am working on 3 different sketchbooks right now. Each one with a purpose. As I have said before.... may God keep blessing you with all that creativity you share with all of us. BTW I tried ballroom dancing once... I'm too short and too stiff. LOL

Hey Jess, thank you so much for sharing with such vulnerability, sacredness and openess. I find your writings so meaningful and grounding. And in the midst of change, of choosing yourself, you remind me of some fundamental truths. Namely, that art is there as a friend for all times, in all moments, in all adventures of exploration, experimentation and yearning. There is so much to be discovered and lived within ourselves, and I thank you profusely for giving us hope, beauty and grace. I hope you continue transforming pain to beauty, you've a universe of love within you. Whatever comes next may it always be laced with joy and gratitude. With love

If you were to name your sketch books I would certainly call this one your Lilo and Stich book. As you flipped page after page I felt as though I was watching the scene out of Lilo and Stich where they take us through all the photos Lilo has taken of people and hung on her wall. Your sketchbook displayed that feeling of wholesome curiosity we all had as children when we would study the features of our loved ones and strangers. Just like Lilo, but instead of pictures they are sketches.

Warm and fuzzies, hmmm not many of those moments lately, I suppose I could add this one: My neighbors cat loves to visit me. He's long hair, jet black and so friendly. Not done with the video but i’m loving the editing! I’m glad the music isn’t overpowering your voice i sometimes find background music annoying but it’s very whimsical and adds a lot, the clips of you were also super cute.. I sort of get annoyed when people reference something in their video and /dont/ include pictures of what they are talking about so again i’m very glad you did that :)
I also do honestly have a short attention span when it comes to sketch book tours but each page was so exciting to see and felt like finished pieces and not just one of pages in a sketchbook.
I don’t usually leave larger comments like this but I just wanted to share that this video was very peaceful and of course your art was gorgeous and shows the years it took to get there!

I really need to up my hatching game, might be dumb but i’ve never thought of choosing one directing for shading it completely elevated those sketches, and the elephants you drew show so much emotion and felt alive like they would just walk off the page!! Alright i’ll stop with the yapping haha I’m now realizing this video is a bit older so i’ll check out your new stuff :)

Every single spread lights me up. Been following you for a couple of years now, Jess, and I'm still so inspired by your perspective on life and art, and how you think about creativity. I watched your Jesstober video with the alphabet letters and... it was blissful. So happy to see you create so much magic and sharing it with us. Thank you!! Much love from Denmark!

Your monochromatic drawings hit real different! I love all the spreads in here especially the textures you created and I really like that you tried drawing/painting with violet because I've noticed yellow is your go-to since 2 years ago! I love seeing your progress as an artist 💗
