Why it does have to end 😭😭😭 Jess, I could watch you painting and hear your voice all day long! 😍😍
Thank you so much!!!
Everytime i watch your videos, they are always extremely moving- you always know what song to pair the vids with! everything you touch screams that you love and put alot of effort into them. this inspires me to pick up a pen or in this case a brush. 😋 Thankyou for all that you do! TH-cam wouldn't ever be the same without you!
After a long time! But so thrilled! Finished my graduation, now wanna do masters and take on Fine Arts!
Congrats! Thanks for watching
I really want to pick up a fashion design book when I start drawing people because I think clothes are one of the best ways to help tell a story. This spread is so inspiring.
I totally agree! Thank you!!
Love all of these different poses! You're so good at capturing a mood.... my brain immediately wants to start telling their stories. Thanks for great video!
Thank you so much!!!
My favorite kind of Jess videos: chill sketchbook sessions while I still get to learn something that I can implement in my own sketchbooks ❤
Thank you !
I learn so much from all of your videos. Composition, value gradation, color theory, brush stokes and texture play, creating visual interest and so much more!!! You are so generous with your sharing ✨ Love you for that, Jess 🧡 I also feel the warmth and positivity radiating in all that you do. You are simple AWESOME and I’m your big fan ☺️
Wow, thank you!!!
I really enjoy watching you draw and paint. It just takes you somewhere else and it's so peaceful. Your work is always beautiful, thank you for sharing. 😊💜
Thank you so much 😀 I really appreciate it
love love loveee your videos Jess, you are like home that I always come back to, whenever feeling in a rut❤

Morning tea and a Jess Karp video! What more could I want?
Thank you so much!!!
you are such a wonderful artist! I learn each time I watch you. Keep up the video tutorials please!
Thank you! Will do!
This was super helpful. Not completely begginer, but very clearly explained. I never thought about the sketches on a spread being tied together - next level practice ~. Keep it coming!
Glad it was helpful! That's always great to think about as a whole! Thanks for watching!
Great result! You've made a modified Zorn Palette, substituting Perylene Green for the traditional Ivory black, and of course, it works because of the near-black base of the P.G.
Thanks for sharing!
Super page! Super pleasure to watch you created it! :)
You and your heals is sooo healing 💎🙏🏼
Thank you!
Beautiful characters!❤
Thanks :)
Loved watching the way you so effortlessly create and make a cohesive spread! So beautiful, Jess!

Real talk, do you get cat hair in your paintings? Cause my one cat loves laying on my art desk and even after cleaning I still manage to get at least one cat hair in everything I do! 😂 Lovely video and painting spread as usual, thanks for sharing 💜
Cat hair is a part of me at this point haha. But I love her so I don’t mind. Hope you enjoyed:) and thanks for watching
All the time 😂
In the future they'll be able to authenticate my work by the leftover dna of my cats that gets stuck in the paint. At this point it's a requirement to have at least some cat hair! 😂

Very nice - I can’t do that yet. Thx
You can do it! Thanks for watching
you are so talented! Would love to have your patience!
Wow, thank you!
fantastic
Thanks!
Beautiful video and artwork, as always 😊
I got an idea /question for you. Yesterday I treated myself to the portrait set of Faber Castell watercolour markers, as they are supposed to be lightfast and highly pigmented. I've been playing around with them and after watching this I started wondering what magic you would be able to do with them. They have other themed sets as well, only 5 markers per set. It's highly restrictive but fun at the same time. I thing you would be able to make really interesting things with a supply like that as the ink works both as a marker or dissolved in water. From beautiful watercolour like glazes to very bold graphic shapes. It's a thought!
Continue the great work.I always try to watch your videos as soon as they come out. You're definitely my fave artist on this platform ❤
Ooooooh that is super cool and definitely will have to check it out! I appreciate you watching and leaving a thoughtful comment - thank you!
Looking at the final product, I'd never guess this was all done with 3 colors!
Thank you!! That's the beauty is we don't need many colors after all!
Thats yum
Haha yum!! thanks!
@@artofjesskarp you know, eye candy
I love the concept of the three colours, love the paintings!
I wonder where did you get that nice sketchbook?
Thanks! It's from etchr, but they may have discontinued it!
Hello! You’re amazing!
Hey, thanks!
Love you too much ❤
Thanks for watching!
Hullo Jess, this is a wonderful example for all watercolor artists for creating a layout or people portraits! I have an idea? Would you consider sharing a layout from your experience at Artists in Wonderland? I know that you might want to ask the others if they made being a part of your painting. I truly feel that the videos are just one expression of the amazing adventure that was held in Michigan! I hope you think about creating a small series of paintings that captures the feeling of being there. I know that so many people turn to videos, but once upon a time portrait settings were a valid use of the painters expertise in capturing the moment! I know that photographs are the main capture method used today. I have created a few moments paintings in my career and they are so treasured by their owners and I am truly proud of them too! I believe that you are the perfect person to record a few of the outstanding moments of the event. I hope you are thinking about this project. Thank you for your generosity and kindness in all that you do.
Hello! Wow what a thoughtful response - thank you so much for watching and for your kind words!
Happiness is here ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you :)
Loved this and I don't even paint!
Thank you!!!
❤ wonderful as always. ❤ What brand is the round brush with the multi color metal part?
They look like Betty Hayways brushes. I'm not sure where they're sold physically but The Chelsea Paper Company sells them through their website. I believe they ship from the UK though, so depending on where you are, shipping might be a bit pricey.
Betty Hayways brushes! Thanks for watching! hope you enjoyed it :)
What was The song at 11:00?? Great and mesemerazing paintings as always

I cant believe we chose the same colors!😮
COOL! :)
@@artofjesskarp right! 🥰🥰🥰

!!!
After many years of schooling and working as an artist do you still discover new things about your technique with mediums you’ve used over and over again. I don’t mean new mediums/tools (like spray paint). I mean perhaps discovering something new about painting with something as familiar as water colours?
It's a life long journey :)
Hey Jess, I'd like to rewatch the video with the pink/purple/green figures in markers. Can you please post the link or name of it? I can't find it.
Thanks! There is no video on it, BUT it's part of a sketchbook tour :) You can find it on my videos channel
Please mention the actual brand same of the sketchbook! I have only been using 140 lb. cold press in the studio and the most often used brands (Moleskin, eg.) are really not up to task…thanks…
Thank you! It's Etchr, but it may be discontinued!
@@artofjesskarp Thank you Jess!

You missed Step 0.5: Be born with the ability and talent to DRAW people accurately... that step is the hardest!
Haha - It can be acquired too! Thank you for watching!
Feeling suddenly out of touch with you, “choose whatever paints you want, as I choose from my basket of over $1000 worth of paint”. Then choose obscure and unrelatable colours. What is happening Jess? 👎🏻
She isn't flaunting her wealth. She is a full time artist. Those paints are, I would guess, a small fraction of the supplies she owns. It's a rightof for her to buy art supplies.
Also, as she said in the video, the purpose of this video is to show a technique on how you can use any three colours for figure painting. It's a lesson on colour mixing, layering and values.
She literally said "feel free to choose any three colours, as this technique applies with a wide variety of different colour choices". I'm paraphrasing => 1:14
You can use these techniques even if you only have 4 colors!! 🤷🏻♀️. Work it out
❤❤❤
Thanks!
