- On May 29th, 2024, Gainax had their bankruptcy filing accepted by the Tokyo District Court. What does that mean for their IP's? This video will dive into that.

I didn't talk about stuff like Abenobashi or Medaka Box mainly because they're manga adaptations, in case anyone wonders.
Miss Mahoromatic and some early 2000's manga adaptation like Kare Kano Etc.
Abenobashi isn't a manga adaptation from what I remember, it was an original project that had a manga released alongside it.
It is obvious what my favorite anime is judging by my profile picture but I would like to say it again that Evangelion changed me and made me become who I am. Growing up with it over the years really changed my views on the world. I hate to see studio Gainax go down this badly. I wish these CEO's were a little bit more responsible and got the backlash instead of the studio. This whole ordeal is extremely disappointing AND sad to be made aware of. My love for the studio is not going down any time soon that's for sure.
Thank you for sharing your experience and appreciation for Eva and Gainax. No matter how badly things got by the end there, there can always be that love and admiration for the works they put out for people to have enjoyed. This bankruptcy shouldn't take that away from anyone, as sad as it is.

Their last great innovative creation was something they came up with while being drunk: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Yeah they have indeed been irrelevant for the past decade.
GAINAX IPs probably will be split between Khara, Trigger, Gaina and Gonzo

I'm kinda pissed the rights to "Top wo Nerae! Gunbuster!" aren't back to Khara... Even though it's been so long since Gaina mentioned it...
Khara would've been ideal, and the fact Anno wanted it makes it more upsetting. Depending on who's involved for Aim For the Top 3 if Gaina is still doing it probably won't live up to the other 2
@@RevoSKL Yeah, from what I read, Anno seems loyal towards creators. Wanting to get FLCL and Gunbuster's right's back because it was his coleague's creation (Diebuster's part in regard of Gunbuster)
Trigger managed to get back "Panty & Stocking" and "Gurren Lagann" is a perfect thing.
I guess the manga adaptations the studio created does not belong to them... I however feel sad "Nadia" still seems stuck at NHK.
PS: From what I know, FLCL sequels IG studio did without Kazuya Tsurumaki seems to be universaly panned by the fans... (Never saw this one though)
It was a slow and pailful process, that begun when a guy left the studio to make an anime about naked babes fighting clothes.
I gotta check out what Gaina is all about, because Gunbuster 3 (Livebuster? 🤔) is something I would live to see done right.

Gaina is actually working on Grendizer U interestingly enough
Besides Grendizer U and projects that probably will never come out, their catalog doesn't look mega interesting. I would still probably try to watch it when I have the patience.
