    Who would have thought tunnels would have such interesting history. Nice views from that building but I share your fear of heights too.

    I have never been to LA before. I must say, I got to do the Walk of Fame & went into Gramens Chinese Theater. I don't really consider that LA, that was Tinseltown. Well, now I feel like I've seen some of it!!! Thank you, Jordan 👍

    Underground Seattle, and other coastal cities were original ground level, but waste kept washing back in with the tide, so they raised ground level up a level, its now a museum of sorts. Accessible from a bar on Pioneer square.

    Loved it. To be taken inside the city of LA's most iconic building and getting a view I never knew existed to anyone who could get a pass was a great thrill. I love your walkabouts where it is like, let us see what turns up. I like everything you do but its cool to sometimes, just wing it.

    Interesting vlog of underground tunnels. When I was in New York the excuse they gave for their underground tunnels was to protect the people ftt try on bad weather going from one building to the next. Now I know another reason what underground tunnels were used for. Another interesting thing was when this entity would sell one of their buildings, they would make sure these underground tunnels would be blocked off. Thanks for another great video, Jordan and seeing the Jahster play in the park is always a treat as well. ❤️🙏🏻🐕‍🦺🌴

    When I was a kid still living in California, my Dad worked for Pacific Bell. He took me to work on Saturdays sometimes when he had to work overtime. One time when I was about 9, we went to the City Hall, and while Dad was working, some staff member gave me some paper, and I was on the 15th floor, so I made paper airplanes and threw them out of the window and watched them go all the way down. Had to have been about 1966 or so... Great memory, lol!

    Lots of big cities had tunnels, but not from Prohibition. They were for deliveries and transportation. Its easier to transport items underground than taking it down a city street. There would be a central (more or less) point with whatever being taken wherever.

    • @MICHELLE-gu2qc
      @MICHELLE-gu2qc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      During prohibition, corrupt city officials ran drinking dens under the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. Despite prohibition laws, 11 miles of service tunnels became passageways to basement speakeasies with innocuous fronts above ground. Patrons were able to move about under the city, boozing it up without a care in the world, while the Mayor’s office ran the supply of hootch. There heaps of these old tunnels and speakeasies across US. LA also has abandoned subway

    I'm sure you'll never run out of places in L.A. to show us viewers, but if by chance you do, I think it would be great to do a video on Roy L. Dennis a.k.a. Rocky Dennis. I saw the movie *Mask* years ago that was based on a true story that starred Cher.

    The morgue also has an underground area to it. sometimes when they are out of room they leave the bodies on the outside of the morgue in the tunnel covered up. wouldn’t it be freaky to be walking down the tunnel and you see gurneys with bodies on them.
