You made similar videos before and that town needs to be better recently some teen may did hit and run or something else it needs to get better more like people of work no more addictions not to break the law no crime and more plus good housings fame and more lot of different situations
OK. Viva Amerikai Egyesult Allamok./USA./Kalifornia: Los Angeles 2023. ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
L.A. resident here. One thing I would tell someone if they're visiting Los Angeles for the first time (as a tourist), don't know anyone locally, and may be uncomfortable with how traffic is, just book tours for your trip. No stress, and they'll pick you up and leave you off at different tourist spots without getting lost or in a car accident. A very efficient use of your time, especially for short visits. On subsequent visits, once you know the ropes, then try driving to things on your own.
Thanks for the tip
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊
Thank you for the tips
Question, is it good the Uber or other transportation platform services?
Thank you!
Finally a site that is organized and informative
I LOVE King Taco! Especially their red hot sauce, which will set your mouth ablaze Haha! Great info for those that have never been to LA.
Mmmm
Great information about street numbers changing when going through different towns! Love the warning about how cool it can get at the beach. Bring a sweater!
The metro and buses are great to use to get around as I never hire a car when I visit.
Unless you need to go the the San Fernando valley of Orange County you don’t NEED a car. If you go to the tourist spots no car needed.
I’m in the OC and I’ve taken the train to downtown then Hollywood then the beach. Then back by train .
As you're apparently British ("hire a car"), it would of course be a bad idea in any US city. Glad you are happy with public transportation!
Really? That is clutch. Is there a subway or metro that gets u to your AirBnB?
Hi Chris, I went to LA recently and had no problem taking buses as a tourist - I got the TAP card app and used Google Maps for directions and it was pretty smooth!
I should add that the subway was VERY dirty and sketchy on my opinion, mainly after dark, but it is, along buses, by far the most economical way for getting around.
Thanks for that report Marcos!
Subways need clean up
Metro trains/subways went downhill fast after they started homeless encampment sweeps last year, guess where many unhoused people relocated!?
only the French can cook really
stay away from the subway…
Hi Chris. Thanks for the great info. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks James!
Born and raised in LA and the background info you gave is spot on. whenever I visit and go to the beach area I stay there and maybe I'll do Manhattan, Long beach all the coastal stuff in 1 visit then so other stuff other days. Even as a former local I gotta plan it out lol
Also number 10 is 110% facts
Number 13, yup I love and miss King Taco.
As a born and raised Angeleno you nailed it Chris! Your video and Mark's are the best guides on LA. I would add, Dont expect the best Mexican food at a high end sit down restaurant. The best Mexican food is from food trucks/street vendors
Took my buddy from the East Coast recently to a food truck in South LA and he said those tacos were in the top meals of his life!
Right on! Indeed... tacos outside on an open flame grill are legit
Hi Chris, just letting you know I find your travel guides fun, informed and entertaining, keep up the good work
Thanks as always Phil!
Hello from Slovakia ... love your guides, especially LA and LV. Always remind them of a great trip to the west coast a year before covid madness .. Hope I will repeat that trip soon.
Thanks Alexander!
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO THANKS
Thanks again!
Just watching this one again, Chris. Trying to psych myself up and as you say, keep your expectations low on certain things. Thanks for your valuable insights as a Southern California local.
I think you did a really good job on this. Kind and accurate. Thank you
\
Thanks Tiffany!
Beautiful...
you have brought my waiting to an end i really love your videos. welcome to sri lanka🇱🇰
My brother lived there in the 80, flew out to see him in ‘86, he drove me around and showed me everything, always dreamed of going back but never did, until 2019! 6 of us went to Vegas from Memphis and spent the whole next day in LA , saw Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Pier and the stars on Sunset Boulevard, got a bite to eat, then headed back to Vegas.
This is excellent. Thank you 😊
Thanks Joanne!
Fantastic video. Spot on. One thing I learned in college was that LA is designed primarily with auto traffic in mind and not necessarily for folks, especially tourists.
Most definitely true
Thanks Chris. Excellent !
Thanks Art!
I've always rented a car every time I've been to Los Angeles. I guess since I've always been a road and geography nerd, I just love driving Mulholland Drive, the Figueroa Street Tunnels, the PCH, Sunset Boulevard, etc.
Figueroa? Doing a little "shopping" of the street 'wares'? LOL
Best advice for those flying in to LAX that want to take the light rail towards Downtown LA - please don't its sketch( Ie. green line to blue line it cuts through/transfers in Compton not safe), my suggestion is look up FlyAway bus ($9.75 one way - worth it). Big Blue charter bus will take you straight to Union Station in DTLA, a better place to centrally start and of course starting points for red line and other rail lines at Metrolink and Amtrak. A good safe pick up space for uber/lyft.
Thanks for the tip Veronica!
good advice, but the green and blue lines aren't that bad, and the transfer is at Willowbrook/Rosa Parks, super busy station during the day, and a good alternate is green line to Harbor Freeway station, and transfer to the Silver line to DTLA, faster/cheaper especially when the LAX people mover is up and running, of course all of this only applies for daytime travel around LA
@@charlespatrick8650hi. I Will visit LA. My hotel is near to the Civic Center Subway station.
I am planning to use the Subway for to move all around the city.
Is safe to return to My hotel in Civic Center at night?
Amen 🙏 Thank you 🙏
These are great tips for visiting LA! I really need to visit LA next now that I have been to San Diego. I'll keep all of these in mind!
Sounds good Scott!
Watched your San Francisco guide which was cool. Heading to L.A in June. What an awesome Channel
Thanks Ant and welcome to Yellow Productions!
Did u go?
I’m probably gonna visit LA around mid April, which will be my first time on the west coast.
I’m new to your channel from Virginia thank you 🙏 for the tips
Thanks for subbing!
Great vid 😃
Thanks Emil!
great advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! traffic is a pain!
Visit LA County in sections.
Very good video..Thanks. I wonder where you find these aerial views. These are really good.
Thanks. Many come from Storyblocks
You may consider the Pacific cold but for a New Englander, it is downright warm. I wish I'd seen this video before moving here last fall. Overnight temps in the 40s was a BIG surprise to me.
Another tip for travelers visiting LA, visit all the nearby counties that are part of the LA metro area: OC, Ventura County and the IE, specifically downtown Riverside, or make the extra hour drive to the Coachella Valley, which those cities you should visit and make a video on, Chris.
Thanks for the tips!
I work in South Central LA. Your advice is spot on.
Thanks Frank!
Great vlog bud. We love Mexican food. Heck we even love Taco Bell! You should have told us about no-go zones, no-go times and safety/danger for overseas tourists.
Nice Video
No 10, spot on unfortunately. Rode the subway a couple of times, not bad. On one trip took a bus from Anneheim to LA, while on the freeway the driver said "you might want to close your eyes on this part, I do". Enjoyed the videao.
Thanks Glenn!
Great job! I think you should do a 2024 version of this video. I recommend also having a “Getting In” section for those who may not be from L.A. There are 5 airports in the area, LAX, ONT, SNA, LGB, and my favorite Hollywood Burbank Airport! I would recommend to avoid LAX if flying in from a city on the West Coast that has direct flights to other airports like Burbank. Also mention about driving, around 2 hours to come in from San Diego, 4 hours from Las Vegas, and 5-6 hours from both the SF Bay Area and Phoenix. I also recommend editing your section on the Metro, especially since ridership is much lower than before the pandemic and how much crime there are on the trains these days! Keep up the wonderful work!
Thanks for the suggestion Yip! It's worth an update for sure!
Good, accurate video.
Regarding the Mexican food, if you go to a restaurant with the word "taqueria" in it, it's likely to be more authentic than the usual Mexican American chain restaurants. There's a saying regarding ethnic restaurants, if the restaurant has a lot of people of the same ethnicity as the restaurant, it's likely to be a great, authentic restaurant and that is usually true of the taquerias in Southern California.
Tito’s tacos 🌮 are demonstrably the best.
I agree. Taqueria's are usually good, because they make their tortillas fresh in the restaurant, instead of buying them from a tortilla factory.
Los Angeles also has good Korean food. Los Angeles has the highest Korean population of any city in the USA.
Thanks for showing us all LA has to offer. I went n a car drive from San dDego, stop to see a cousin and his family in Thousand Oaks. He took me to Venice Beach and Tommy Burger? I then drove to San Francisco ,stayed 3 days ,and then drove up to Northern Ca, where I once lived ,in Fort Bragg .It is beautiful there. I think you should visit it's about 3.5 hr drive from SF, lots of curvy road for part of it.
Thanks Alex!

Nice and informative videos Chris. Quick question about public transport.. I am visiting LA for 6 days next month and intend to use public transport whilst I'm there. Will a TAP card suffice for all public transport? Or do I need separate pass for different types of transportation?
TAP cards works for metro rail, and busses. If you take Amtrak or Metrolink longer distance trains then you need to buy a ticket for those
Yes. A great advice for out of towners. I wouldn't use the city bus if I were them.
And 💯 on your #10 rundown. That's why we stopped doin daytrips in LA. Been goin down to SD more often for daytrips cuz it's nicer.
Downtown SD is definitely way nicer than Downtown LA.
most of us locals who have to use Metro every day, prefer using the bus over trains, but buses aren't practical for longer trips
I was just there last weekend. Lucky enough to get a free 2h parking on N Beverly Drive at the Beverly Hills. Also I found Apple Maps very useful, definitely better than Google maps which tends to be a little confusing on exits.
Mexican food. Thai food. Chinese food ( San Gabriel valley). Little Tokyo. Little Ethiopia. The choice of food is the most varied. The only other places with the same variety are also California cities - San Diego , SF.
This of course doesn’t mean other cities don’t have their specialties after all no one talks about LA pizza. But no one talks about New York Thai food know what I mean.
If you want variety LA is the place .
San Diego has great Italian!
Two great free places are Griffith observatory and the Getty villa ( you pay for parking and need a reservation).
Love that you mention that the valley was separate from Los Angeles Even though its part of the county. Here is tip #14 when you go to Venice beach boardwalk and someone hands you a CD do not take it! And do not put on the headphones! just smile and keep walking!!👍
Great tips Helen
Someone try to do that to me at the Venice Beach Boardwalk. I was with a friend agd we both chuckled cause we are from NYC and that is a very common scam in high tourist areas like Times Square. I was like "welp over here too" haha
Hi! Do you recommend starline bus tour o the big big tour?? Thanks amazing video!!!!
Thanks! And sorry but I haven't taken either so I don't really have a useful opinion
@@YellowProductionsokay thanks anyway!!
Lol the east coast mexican food comment you made😂 PLEASE DONT TAKE ME TO ANYMORE MEX RESTAURANTS😂😂 Once again another great and informative video!!
😁
Everything is so expensive and than should i bring my own shoppingbag to save 10 Cent, Chris this was your Best tip ever. Greetings from Sven
Hah
Do you have a hotel suggestion to do the activities you talked about.
LA is a city of contrasts with many very gritty and scary areas and other really expensive and beautiful areas. Since the pandemic it seems like the gritty is expanding.
We have been to California several times but have never been to Los Angeles due to the traffic. I guess I should get over it so we can experience LA one day. But I have heard a lot about traffic and parking and navigation that has intimidated me. We will make it there one day. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks trvln thru! I'm sure you'll get by just fine!
Gotta come for the Mexican food!
traffic hell on LA freeways is usually from 7:30am to 7:30pm, 2pm to 6pm being the worst to travel anywhere in Metro LA
French food is excellent in California
Rather visit Los Angeles for fun but the tour will be cool
I live in LA, AMA.
Great info!! We will be in LA for two days in March staying at the Beverley Hilton and not planning to rent a car...do you know if there are any ways to get around from there by public transit? or will Uber and Lyft be best options?
uber!!
Uber and Lyft is about all you'll have there
Are they weekdays or weekend? You'll have more traffic during the weekdays
Terimakasih
I would disagree that all public buildings or places are run down. There are plenty of buildings and cultural sites that are worthy of a visit that includes Disney concert hall, Lacma, Hollywood bowl, Exposition park and numerous trails in Santa Monica mountains or Hollywood hills, just to name a few.
For a quick visit to the walk of fame in Hollywood, where would you recommend that we park, thanks!
Park at the Hollywood and Highland Mall in the underground parking garage
@@YellowProductions thank you! We are from Germany and our App Store doesn’t have the parking App you recommend. We just would like to go to the Lassie star on the Boulevard with our dog 🤪😅🐶
I want to visit LA to watch basketball specifically what would u recomend as far as accommodations
I like the JW Marriott at LA Live
are there 24 hour gyms in LA?
I Love You LA❤
Tourist who went to LA here, the busses were fine for most journies

Hi! Can you help me/us with parking in Los Angeles ? I am terrified about it...I plan trip to Los Angeles/ renting a car but instead of cheer my time on a beach I will be anxious about prices :( I am from Europe where prices (and earnings) are not so high so Los Angeles scares me
Hi Patryk, just learn to accept the high parking prices and you'll be OK 😉
Local here, I got the urge to go eat at one of Olvera Street's restaurants (street were Los Angeles originated and across the street from Grand Central Station} $15 parking.
I always estimate 3-5 minutes per mile
Good tip
Chris, I grew up in the suburbs of New York City before I moved out here in my early 20’s back in the 90’s…I honestly never thought Los Angeles was THAT terrible to get around, mostly because dealing with getting through and around New York City is SO MUCH WORSE! But, yeah, I Definitely agree that, as a fellow San Diegan (well, at least since ‘91), LOS ANGELES IS DEFINITELY LIKE ANOTHER WORLD! (Oh, and a lot of the tourist attractions in New York City is ALSO shockingly run-down too..)
Indeed. NYC with the tunnels and bridges is much worse then LA. But most people probably aren't coming from NYC 😉
I always tell people to think of LA just like new york and it boroughs and not the Las Vegas strip where everything is centered in one place
That's a great description
Do I have to be vaccinated to enter sofi stadium?
I don't think so at this time
I love going to LA and I have been wanting to try Sushi Gen but something always came up where I couldn’t.
👍🤳🐞
"Parking is free on the 405."🤣🤣🤣 I laugh because I was parked there.🤬
Los Angeles is expensive
People should stop at In-N-Out for some great burgers if they have never had them before while visiting LA, and definitely go to the Griffith Observatory for some of the best views of LA
Definitely Gioman!

When we visited back in June last year we were totally shocked how gloomy and cool the weather was on the beach (St Monica) yet when we did Hollywood Boulevard is was actually hot and sunny, complete contrast yet only a few miles apart.
Indeed! A very typical weather pattern

Most of the Valley is within LA City limits. And best not to confuse it with the San Gabriel Valley, home to arguably the best Chinese food in America.
French food is outstanding
authentic French cuisine

I’ve went there today because I came back from Dubai
And don't forget your Xanax ....just kidding ☺️
One word: Koreatown!!

Thanks for the tip on the Jimmy Kimmel show
Whenever we go to Rodeo Drive, I always have the slightest hope of seeing a celebrity, but it never works out 😅. Gotta keep the wishful thinking for the fun of it though!
Next time!
You will see celebrities more often in Venice area.
Yo this is gta
Certain stores charge .25 for plastic bags 🤔🤔
At this point, my family and I likes San Diego a lot more than LA. Since it's way more family friendly
San Diego is way more family friendly. Orange County is too 😉
there is a Little Italy in SD
LA is NOT a dessert. We're a Mediterranean climate - hot, dry summers and cool wet winters :)
Also, the Mexican food supremacy is real. My favorite is Las Fuentes in the Valley

Hollywood equals HollyHood.
It appears things in L.A. haven't changed since the 5 years old video on the same subject; the script is nearly identical.
Some new parts in here Ema.. but indeed many things are quite similar.. a big city doesn't change all that much in 5 years
@@YellowProductions How curious. I highly recommend you to visit Santiago of Chile, and then visit it again 5 years later. Everything is always changing, even the most historic landmarks. I myself remember 3 quite different designs of the city's main square, and there were others before.
There's a video here in TH-cam called "Carradine BIO." A recording of a 70s improvised song by David Carradine (the guy was high, and it shows :-) in which he tells about his "good old L.A." In his autobiography Endless Highway he also describes the city of his childhood (San Fernando Valley, actually). I think nothing of that remains now; it would be interesting to check how much the place has changed from the 40s until today.
Nice videos you make. Congrats.✌
You can always tell who the tourists are on the beach, they're the ones wearing speedos LOL
Or the Europeans 😉
@@YellowProductions Mainly :)
Did anybody see Spider-Man into the background I did
No prablem
When I say the Valley it’s San Gabriel Valley.
A friend lives 1.1 miles away-it takes nearly half an hour to get there by car.
Sounds about right for LA 😉
Only a desperate tourist would waste his/her hard-earned money and precious vacation time in a rundown, expensive, and dangerous place like LA. Yes, there is a way to do LA in style, but it would literally cost you an arm and a leg.
P.S. Taking the public bus in LA for a tourist amounts to a guaranteed invitation for an assault (verbally, emotionally, financially, and/or physically). And don’t count on the police to save your behind either; they are normally nowhere to be found but the most affluent neighborhoods.
people are on their own as tourists in Los Angeles..ask for directions
I ask anyone. Why on God's green earth would I subject myself to the far-left, open, overflowing septic tank of L.A.?!!!! SMH
