I believe back in B41, according to Retanaru, leg protection is largely unnecessary, as only crawlers can damage your legs, but sometimes standing zombies can bite your groin when they attack you from behind, which is also when they are able to target your neck more easily, under the back vulnerability setting. Combined with what we learned in this video, it's safe the safe that protection on your arms, especially your hands, goes in handy the most, but still nice to have something lighter to protect your face. Now, I'm not sure how they changed the zombie targetting, but I think not needing to run leg armour will go a long way on saving on weight and comfortability
Honestly, the only things missing are leather and chainmail armor. Both provide very good benefits perfect for the Zombie Apocalypse. Reject modernity, embrace medieval.

@@rustic1110not really. They're probably cut resistant gloves. They're fairly common in commercial kitchens although they are usually high density nylon these days. I could see them being sold there for when you have to gut and filet the fish you catch.
Honestly, just the bone choker (or similar neck armor) is instant value for me. It's ok if armor isn't super durable so long as it's light; ideally I'm never going to get hit. The armor just improves my chances for if I ever let my guard down.
I think most of the issue with armor is the player base just knows,The best way to not die is not to get damaged,So we tend not to take the risks that you need armor for.
The biggest con of the armor is that you can't wear shoulder armor and backpack together, which makes kinda useless as zombies still can bite your shoulder.
To be honest this is an okay nerf to prevent stuff like the ultramoded 500kg loot backpack with military gear and armor characters that can run without any issues. Although they shouldn't apply this to all shoulder armor, just tire, scrap and metal armor.
Add actual barbrute helmets or full plate armour, they want us to go to a sort of medieval post industrial world at the end, seems like a cool feature to have medieval weapon and armour sets.
I’ve come to realize that ALL armor just increases your heat and exhaustion. It’s good in short bursts during a preplanned battle, but against a mega horde armor doesn’t count for as much as mobility.
The problem is that project zomboid still doesnt have any scenarios, events, or reasons to use the cool stuff. I really think they ought to add a rudimentary quest system via HAM radio, or at least a blood moon or silent hill type event.

The items needed are no more than changing the breaks on a car seeing as you need a wrench, jack, and the breaks but you have to go through those and the wheels plus suspension. It's supposed to be a progression, saving your life 5 times before being broken is a big deal if all I need to do is scrap a car to get more materials to make another in short order especially sense you can start the game with +4 to blacksmithing
