This game is more than a decade older than me but I was lucky my mom bought me one of those nes console copies when I asked her for a xbox, I remember I was angry at first but I was able to have a lot of fun playing many of these nes classics: Mario, Contra, Tetrix, Excite Bike, Elevator, Tank 1954, Duck Hunt (I had that crazy gun too!) and many others. I still have that console and play it sometimes out of nostalgy, my fingers end up hurting like crazy though XD
Doing this really isn't that hard. You just need to memorize each level and hone your skills a bit. I beat contra back to back for 5-6 loops starting with 2 lives.
The entire soundtrack of the game, plus sound of gun such as laser power, and when you aquire any power the absolute soundtrack gives more goosebumps to play, full nostalgic game ever.
Up up down down left right B A. Cheat code for 30 men. This is my first game I played on the NES back in 1988. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at my neighbors house Nathan Dimas (RIP) playing Contra for the very first time! It was amazing!! Nathan I know you're up in heaven now. Thank you for introducing me to gaming!

The ending is so iconic that in Vietnam, we have a phrase that literally means "destroying island" as an alternative way of saying 'finishing a game'.
@@Amwave Well Yeah that's true too but Super Mario,Zelda,Contra covered most of people childhood if you're born at years when they were released or after that.
That's because everything changes. Videogames clearly are meant to evolve. These games are nostalgic for sure but you can't really compare them to modern games because they are completely different.
I’m 40 and this brings back so many memories . My first game and present my father gave me . Honestly it’s making me sad just thinking of the good old days
It’s awesome that games like these still bring generations together. This game was before my time. I really missed out. Not a huge fan of my gaming era and prefer earlier times in the NES.
Ahh the memories, it's the late 80s/early 90s and me and my older sister are playing this game on the large wood floor model TV. I was the Red guy (always dying hahaha) and my sister was the Blue guy. We beat this game countless times. Legendary game! The 30-lives cheat code is imbedded into my brain!
This game was so jaw dropping for me long time ago! After Mario or Donkey Kong this one appear so impressive, so serious. The marines animated and illustrated so cool, they could shoot in any direction, lay on the ground, swim and even dive! Pure action with badass sounds and music background, tough boses, enemies and different angle of view in base levels!
This made me realize that I'm so fucking OLD. I loved this game as a kid. Now 37 and iam still gaming hard. There is no age limit i still feel so childish 😂😂

It never too late playing these classics, there hidden gems I had and hadn't beat yet thanks to those emulators and mod consoles and handhelds and collections.
This takes me down memory lane and explicitly remember the surrounding of having friends over, taking thr game to other friends and the nuances of the time. Those days were very unique compared to now
This is the one game I have CLOCKED MANY TIMES, my friends would even die along the way and end up watching me playing over and again by myself until I give up the controller. I would even allow them to use up my lives because I never needed the extra lives.
I was 10 playing on a black/ white TV...on a Terminator 2 console ....`94 I think..good memories the only bad thing was we were 3 brothers and a sister all one year after me... you can see the drama... soz for my bad English
One of the best adventure games till date. Nothing can beat this. Big ups to the whole team. Especially, the sound team for creating such a legendary theme music.

@@juantamayo5295 yeah lmao.. there controllers are so shot they always end up hurting fingers
That is the mark of a true gamer, beating Contra without dying. two thumbs up.
Ian Hamer grrrrrrrrr, I'm crap at them, but I still love them. 😀
Just did it, without upgrade at all :)
Doing this really isn't that hard. You just need to memorize each level and hone your skills a bit. I beat contra back to back for 5-6 loops starting with 2 lives.
first 4 stage are easy
lool i can do 100 times.. just grap the S and R,, and you'll be the god
The entire soundtrack of the game, plus sound of gun such as laser power, and when you aquire any power the absolute soundtrack gives more goosebumps to play, full nostalgic game ever.
52 years old and brings back memories of being at the arcade center... my brother and I finished this game numerous times... great times...

That message in the end which says 'Consider yourself a Hero' still makes my day 😊
I am already a hero.
Dunno why got recommended after 7yrs ... But absolutely it was worth remembering my childhood
All the people came here have a kind of same childhood.
The ending is so iconic that in Vietnam, we have a phrase that literally means "destroying island" as an alternative way of saying 'finishing a game'.
lol thats amazing. thanks for sharing
the island really destroyed at the end of the game and theh helicopter leaving it.
I'm surprised you don't have one called destroyed jungle xD
Kids today are using that phrase and most of them don't even know where it comes from.
Neat
By watching this video tears come on my eyes... Those days will never come back 😢😢😢😢😢
There's no more games like contra, Super Mario, nowdays everyone cares about the graphics(this comment got 50 likes nearly a day now it died)
Because they're better. I like these games too but probably only because of nostalgia. Any person would rather play Witcher 3 than Adventure Island.
@@Amwave Well Yeah that's true too but Super Mario,Zelda,Contra covered most of people childhood if you're born at years when they were released or after that.
Minecraft: "......".
Jackal was also one
That's because everything changes. Videogames clearly are meant to evolve. These games are nostalgic for sure but you can't really compare them to modern games because they are completely different.
I’m 40 and this brings back so many memories . My first game and present my father gave me . Honestly it’s making me sad just thinking of the good old days
Watching this in 2019. Happy New Year!
Shove it
Me😂
almost 2020 now
Watching this in 2020 hapoy new year
2020 😂
Oh my God I am 50 years old this brought me when I was a boy😅😅😂😂🤣. how simple life was.
@Kurt Cobain But the games' difficulty weren't.
I’m 40 catching up soon , best games were double dragon , dragon spirit , shinobi 🥷, contra
@@larryzhonka5384 I had a hard time with Dragon Spirit. Did you beat the game?
@@kevinpayton2664 heck no it’s to hard bro !
It’s awesome that games like these still bring generations together. This game was before my time. I really missed out. Not a huge fan of my gaming era and prefer earlier times in the NES.
This guy is literally blasting trough everything I couldn't as a kid.
Thanks for these great memorie, bro❤️
Ahh the memories, it's the late 80s/early 90s and me and my older sister are playing this game on the large wood floor model TV. I was the Red guy (always dying hahaha) and my sister was the Blue guy. We beat this game countless times. Legendary game! The 30-lives cheat code is imbedded into my brain!
I used to play this game when I was between 11-16 years. It's funny how time flies. 😇
Hi i was 4-8 y/o and am 23 now..how old are you?
These 16 minutes = half of my childhood. unbelievable.
Your childhood was only 32 minutes?
@@dreamlandnightmare 😂😂
The other half is was spent on Mario Bros......🥺🥺
This game was so jaw dropping for me long time ago! After Mario or Donkey Kong this one appear so impressive, so serious. The marines animated and illustrated so cool, they could shoot in any direction, lay on the ground, swim and even dive! Pure action with badass sounds and music background, tough boses, enemies and different angle of view in base levels!
Iam 43 years & still watch it ! Old is gold
Oh man I seriously miss this game. Use to play the whole day with my brother during my childhood. Thanks for the memories.
It’s available on the Nintendo switch
This made me realize that I'm so fucking OLD. I loved this game as a kid. Now 37 and iam still gaming hard. There is no age limit i still feel so childish 😂😂
I remember all the songs just like it was yesterday (30 + years later!)
This guy just mocked my childhood struggle...
Ha! That is funny! And relatable!
Mehboob tak hahaha right
took me full 30 lives and a continue to beat last month need to freshen up my skills
Nowadays we get PC emulators that allow us to save the game at every instance of the game and reload from the saved point... This allows you to complete the game without losing a life.... "Now you know the SECRET"
Muchas gracias! Estoy por cumplir 40 años y me hiciste recordar mi infancia con éste gran y difícil juego sólo lo pude completar un par de veces pero es espectacular! Hacia años que no lo veia.Abrazo
Oh man! I haven’t thought about contra in 30yrs! Those were the days!
I haven’t played my Contra game in quite awhile.
I never had a contra game in my life. I play it in some of my friends places though. But now I have about over a dozen. Different versions. And Peobotectors. The contra games of EU.
Can we all agree that S is the most goated shooting style. Literally the best one and makes life so much easier
1)Contra
2)Super Contra
3)Double Dragon
4)Super Mario
5)bomberman
who love these games? Hit the like button
the adventures of jimmy and bimmy
Double dragon 3 was epic
Don't forget "Ikari Warriors". 💪💪💪💪💪💪
'METAL SLUG'
Tecmo bowl, contra, bases loaded, Mario, punch out
Even though I wasn’t born in the 80s or 90s, old games like these have always been my favorite, especially the gameplay and music.
Because old games were art and a lot of modern games are mostly milkings.
x2 tengo 18 pero esto fue mi infancia xd
It never too late playing these classics, there hidden gems I had and hadn't beat yet thanks to those emulators and mod consoles and handhelds and collections.
Hit like if your childhood was amazing
tomos.gillera.drugi.

No
✋
Hahahaha yes 🙂
It was so so so so amazing.
awesome video! literally my favorite NES of all time. i did a playthrough too, but started slipping at Stage 7 lol. great video
I am impressed. Watched this from start to finish. This damn game gave me so much anxiety as a child lol.
This takes me down memory lane and explicitly remember the surrounding of having friends over, taking thr game to other friends and the nuances of the time.
Those days were very unique compared to now

$69 for 15 minutes gameplay is just crazy isn't it?
On DKOldies, its only $55. and in mint condition.
Me too.. these are my beautiful memories
Melissa Harrison brand new in 1988 is $69
Awesome game takes me back to my youth.
This is the one game I have CLOCKED MANY TIMES, my friends would even die along the way and end up watching me playing over and again by myself until I give up the controller. I would even allow them to use up my lives because I never needed the extra lives.
Its crazy how not only the bgm but even a single sfx in this game is pure nostalgia and gives goosebumps
My favorite stage soundtrack is Waterfall.
Don't know why it is recomended after 8 years??....but it brought smile to my face..
Now my childhood is over..
man, this brings back memories.
I have one
even in 2016
I was 10 playing on a black/ white TV...on a Terminator 2 console ....`94 I think..good memories the only bad thing was we were 3 brothers and a sister all one year after me... you can see the drama... soz for my bad English
damn straight
horrnett top 5 game all time.. amazing what Nintendo did with this
I loved playing this game. And don't forget Blades of Steel! Someone needs to develop a killer side scrolling game with today's systems and graphics!
One of the best games ever...and mobile game devs still cant figure out how to make a good game with 100x better tech
They dont want to they just want your money.
The objective is not the same anymore.

One of the best adventure games till date. Nothing can beat this. Big ups to the whole team. Especially, the sound team for creating such a legendary theme music.
And all this was programmed in few KBs💫
This game return me back almost 20 years)))) it is beautiful memory
Up, up, down, down, LT, RT, LT, RT, A, B, Select, Start. I am not sure if that is the cheat code.😂 I haven't played this game since I was like 9 or 10 years old. This brings back memories. Nicely done! This is awesome!
My God, how nostalgic !! I got to play that well, I remember that it gave me joy when I managed to finish it the first time, but at the same time sadness when I saw that helicopter taking off and the island destroying itself, it was something strange because I was very fond of that game Thank you for sharing it, greetings to the players of that time !!!
Got a smile on my face ... thank you
Sam Goodwin lol same here
Am seeing this at 4 early morning
same here :)
Timeless game, great gameplay and the music...omg, to this day the energy zone theme is my favorite.
This game took my whole childhood to complete 1 or 2 stages & i never went beyond that & this guy completed the whole game in 15 minutes with just a single player.. OMG 😳😮
I don't know why I was crying while watching this video
Adarsh Guru me too...just remember how amazing our childhood...90s kids 😢
It's maybe your childhood better than your now , because i feel it too ( sorry for my bad english )
Maybe you're sitting on your balls, and you're to lazy and fat to move...

Nope
It used to be so damn loud
I was so proud of myself for mastering this game as a kid. I can't imagine doing this without dying. Bravo.
I just realized that I once finished this game even though it took forever....& I'd never do it again, especially like this guy! Well done!!
I'm 38 years old and this video game. Is my childhood!

Wow!!! This is a awesome. Thanks to technology, I can finally see beyond the first two stages of this game.
Blue = Arnold Schwarzenegger
Red = Sylvester Stallone
