I can remember playing this as a teenager. This is a childhood favorite. Fortunately, I actually have this along with Double Dribble, Contra, Mike Tyson punchout, etc, as playable files on my computer. I get to relive my childhood whenever I want to. Occasion fun times.

I feel you and I am with you. The late 2000s and early 2010s saw a huge rise in the Retro gaming trend, many other Nintendo games had released (even if half of the Mario games were NSMB, I feel bad for the 2D Mario fans of the time), so it was an all rounder - there were games for everyone. Even these later years have seen a huge rise in the games that everyone wanted yet weren't usually delivered by the AAA studios. The biggest ones by the biggest companies - Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, Sonic, Rayman, Doom, -Cash Banooca- Crash Bandicoot, -Simon the Door- Spyro the Dragon, Resident Evil... even really small icons of yore, like Kao the Kangaroo and Psychonauts! And I haven't even touched upon the indie game developers! They're the ones making the games everyone wants, and even the ones you don't know yet that you want until you start playing them! Not just fanmade games, like Rayman Redemption, the definitive way to play the original PS1 game, but completely original IPs too! Even romhacks and mods of already existing games, there are metric tons of those, for many of the biggest and most adored games in history! And the Retro scene has moved away from the typical 8-bit 2D games to the 16-bit era of gaming, and especially the early 3D games of the N64 and PS1 era. There's truly games for everyone, especially nowadays, you just gotta know where to look.

I remember being a kid in the 80's and playing this and being in awe over discovering so many different hidden boards and worlds. I bet I know some things that even the best players don't know. So many different tricks. You could literally be occupied with this game for 3 years at least.
My son still has the Original NES that I bought for him back in 1986 & still has all 3 of the Original Super Mario Bros including The Gun for the Duck Hunt Game. He also has the Original Ninja Gaiden Game & a lot of other NES Game's as well.

Just when I thought I was gonna die koopa jumped and I ran as fast as i could under him and got to the axe; once I did it I couldn't believe it...I BEAT KOOPA KING; I BEAT SUPER MARIO BROTHERS!!! I cheered my butt off; I remember it being a fri or sat night because it was way past my bedtime, so it had to be a weekend

After all those years I realize that Mario is lowering the flag of the enemy and then raise his own in the end level castle. The flag enemy seems to contain the image of a shell. Mario is going for the princess, but it seems that somehow he is also a conqueror at war.

Now that you say that I'm looking at other versions of the flag in other remake games and I think you're right saying it's a skull because I see clearly the middle bottom part. I've Played Both Old and New Mario. Even though mario version from 2012 had very Good Graphics Quality and Sounds I still like old one ❤️❤️❤️ music of Old mario is really nice and has something special ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't remember World 9. When I played Super Mario Bros., getting to that point in World 4-2 led to World 5 only. I never knew about additional worlds in that particular warp zone. This is a new one for me. Also, one of the frustrations I had (when I played this game) was the countdown timer. The "seconds" counted down way too fast. I often had to skip many coins and power-ups just to make sure that I could reach the end of certain levels (assuming an enemy didn't kill me first)...most notably, levels that only had 300 "seconds" to finish.

After all those years I realize that Mario is lowering the flag of the enemy and then raise his own in the end level castle. The flag enemy seems to contain the image of a shell. Mario is going for the princess, but it seems that somehow he is also a conqueror at war.

Now that you say that I'm looking at other versions of the flag in other remake games and I think you're right saying it's a skull because I see clearly the middle bottom part. Maybe it could be a mushroom too. That being said, for the lol, I prefer my plot twist fantasy of a shell and Mario being a conqueror. Thanks for pointing out it is a skull.

I've Played Both Old and New Mario. Even though mario version from 2012 had very Good Graphics Quality and Sounds I still like old one ❤️❤️❤️ music of Old mario is really nice and has something special ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I don't remember World 9. When I played Super Mario Bros., getting to that point in World 4-2 led to World 5 only. I never knew about additional worlds in that particular warp zone. This is a new one for me.
Also, one of the frustrations I had (when I played this game) was the countdown timer. The "seconds" counted down way too fast. I often had to skip many coins and power-ups just to make sure that I could reach the end of certain levels (assuming an enemy didn't kill me first)...most notably, levels that only had 300 "seconds" to finish.
The last level is World 8-4. In World 4-2, the first vine that appeared early in the level leads to Worlds 6, 7 and 8
