I've seen the Rooster render wax, it's the same way Superman would make a diamond. He'd take a chunk of coal, and using his super strength, compress it and make a 40 carat diamond. The Rooster grabs about 50 pounds of old bees wax in his watermelon hands, and using his super strength, compresses 40 pounds of wax out of the comb leaving only a pile of dirty cocoons to dig out from under his finger nails. You got to admire him for that. Thanks for watching. God's peace Willie. Mr. Ed

Is there a more upbeat person on TH-cam than Jeff? I don't think I've ever come across anyone who's so infectiously joyful. I can only imagine that if you're feeling down five minutes of talking to Jeff would sort things out. Thank you Jeff for bringing sunshine into our lives 🐝✌️
My mom did sewing at an upholstery shop. She had a chunk of beeswax to rub on the needle when it was encountering too much friction in the work material.
My Mother used to use the phrase, "Busy as a bee." For you to harvest so much precious honey and wax, the busy little bees worked tirelessly. And now you and your helper prepared an environment to give the wax back to the busy little bees so that the process begins anew. Wonderful to watch. Take care, stay safe, and God bless. 🐝🐝🐝
It's the way recycling should work, and with the bees and wax, it does. Thank you for your blessings, concern, and for watching. Stay safe yourself Rose Mary, God's peace. Mr. Ed

Now lout was a lotto wax to render down for sure. And I thought the roller method was pretty efficient but I gotta tell you really dipping these foundations in that cattle is the cat's meow for sure. Thanks for sharing my friend.
It was a lot of wax which is why it took so long to make this video, there are days between the rendering process. Still, it's worth the effort to wind up with frames that looked as good as these did. Dipping beats the heck out of rolling every time. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

One tip. I just put all the "dirty" wax in some bigger cloth. Like a big kitchen cloth. Put some stones in the cloth with the wax to keep it down below water and melt. Most dirt will stay in the cloth and the wax will be nearly all cleen allready the first melt. Just a little hello from Sweden!🤟💛🐝

Awesome. I took my wife to macclenny fl. This am and noticed that 28 miles from the new piece of property we are going to call home when I retire, there is a bee shop. They sell everything that has to do with bees. Awesome!!!! Can't wait till I get set up.
I put mine in the oven. Container of water, paper filter attached at the top, wax chunks laid on top of the filter. As it melts it goes through the filter and lands on a layer of water. Keep adding chunks of wax as they melt through. Voila. Easy peazy. Of course this works for smaller not larger amounts like our dear Mr. Ed has here lol.😁 Choose happy, be kind everybody. God bless.

On a much smaller scale, using a Kelley Beekeeping model KH100, I place steel wool pads (held in place by binder clips) in the output shoot to strain the wax and it works great. I also uncap in this same setup using the steel wool to strain the capping honey. I keep the capping honey separate as it seems to have a higher pollen content. Health food customers prefer it.
My method of placing the netting in the throat of the nozzle uses the same pretense as the steel wool you describe, it works very well. Thanks for watching. God's peace Bob. Mr. Ed

Mr. Ed you have shown me something I have always wanted to know! I have always been curious about how this process was done, and now I know. 👍😊 I know how you might do it if you have a small batch (the crock pot), and how YOU have decided to do it now that you have so many hives to tend. Most importantly, I know WHY you do it! Awesome informative video to watch on what has turned into a rainy day here in central Florida. Hope you all are still safe and sound up there. God bless!

I have a small block of beeswax that use on thread for sewing leather and also rub it on the edge of leather before I use a burnishing tool to smooth the edges. One other thing I found out about, is honey is a natural antibiotic use can use on cuts, even deep ones. Your body will absorb the honey that's put in a cut and it will kill any bacteria it comes in contact with. I'm not in a position to give medical advice, but all I can say is I've been using honey on cuts since the late 1960's and all I can say is I never had an infection and I also got faster healing and the skin on both sides bonding together faster.
It is a very well known fact about the medicinal uses for honey, and beeswax. I had a friend who had lung surgery, and his wound was packed with beeswax to prevent bacterial growth. Thanks so much for sharing the facts and for taking the time to watch the video. God's peace. Mr. Ed

Here in the Netherlands we mainly use wax foundation, these are sheets of wax placed in a press to create a starter sheet. The comb does not blow out during spinning unless you go full speed instantly or if you have Heather honey inside the comb. German studies showed plastic nano particles in all honey. I wonder if there are more traces in American honey with plastic foundation. Curious if anyone seen any research on this. Wax or plastic foundation. You end up doing some work to it after a while.
I do love wax foundation, but I had to many issues with it in the past and went to plastic foundation. Now, my concern with wax foundation is where did the wax that was used come from. With chemicals being so widely used and much of it showing up in the wax itself, the idea of plastic nanos in the honey just shows nothing is free of contamination. Thanks for your comment, a very good one, and for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed

Do it like the dirt rooster does
The Dirt Rooster would love to have a setup like Mr Eds.

So glad to hear you enjoyed the video, especially on a TH-cam recommendation. And just in case you do take up bee keeping in the future, I've got over380 video on the subject, and I post a new one every Friday. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and leave your comment. God's peace Colton.
Mr.
OK, where do I send the check? Thanks so much for your very kind words, and taking the time to watch the video. God's peace Ian.
Mr. Ed
My mom did sewing at an upholstery shop. She had a chunk of beeswax to rub on the needle when it was encountering too much friction in the work material.
Bee's wax has so many uses, and your mom is mighty smart to be using it in her sewing. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Mr. Ed
i really enjoy watching someone that genuinely loves doing what they do. Makes it that much better to watch and learn from. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
I can't thank you enough for your kind words, and that you enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for watching, and I look forward to hearing from you again. I post new bee videos every Friday in case you are interested. God's peace Jason.
Mr. Ed
TH-cam recommending some interesting things now a days...
That is so cool to hear that you watched simply because it is a recommended video. In case you have more interest in what I do, wrangling bees, I post a new video every Friday, and I hope you will check some of those out as well. Thanks so much for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Omg the smile and satisfaction when he was talking to us after it was all done was truly wholesome. I actually felt sooo good inside. 🤗 Thanks, I find enjoyment in the the melting and cleaning of the wax.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the video, and as much as I love rendering wax, saving bees tops that. Most of my videos are I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 8 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Mr. Ed, I love all of your videos, but the ones where you work with wax are my absolute favorite. You’ve made my day! God bless and stay safe!
So glad to hear you enjoy watching my bee wrangling adventures, and like you, the rendering of wax and harvesting the honey are always favorites of mine as they are quite different than a removal is. Thank you for your blessing and for watching. God's peace Robert.
Mr. Ed
It’s always a good day when I see one of Mr. Ed’s videos in my subscription feed!
I love being a part in folks Friday's activities, thank you so much for allowing me that honor. God's peace Alexandra.
Mr.
Mr. Ed
I love this energy he give off

Mr. Ed
Hello dear friends.
I want to help.
I'd like wild bee wax.
I forgot, I'm a student and on my way to an in-depth research I wanted some wild bee wax.
I'd like an answer, please.
Wow! I find it so cool that the wax that comes from the combs get reused to make new combs!
Recycling the wax is such a cool process, and after it's finished, it's brand new all over again. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Haimy.
Mr. Ed
Sure is nice to have top class equipment instead of using rudimentary things working in a driveway, basement, or garage with bees flying everywhere...I went 100% foundationless this season and the bees draw perfectly everytime!!!
I do love having the bees draw out their own comb, it's pure art. Yes, I am blessed to have some very good equipment. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
I just started beekeeping this year. The videos you and others make have been a great addition to the classes I took. Keep them coming.
Welcome to the wonderful world of keeping bees, you are going to love the adventure. I'm happy to share my experiences in the hopes of helping folks like yourself. Thanks so much for watching, and I look forward to hearing from you again. God's peace.

Very informative video MrEd and a brilliant idea I may add.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it informative. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch. God's peace.

AE or the discovery channel should pick this guy up. He doesn't need a gimmick like some of the typical hosts. He's just genuinely interesting. I've been binge watching him for a couple days
You are way to kind, I'm just a bee wrangler who loves sharing his experiences and spreading a bit of happiness as I go. Thank you for the time you are putting in watching my adventures, I hope you feel it is time well spent. Until the next one, God's peace.

i can truthfully say "Mr Ed here" is the SAME nice guy you see on his vids! We had to pleasure to meet Mr Eday a bee conference in Alexandria last fall!
Great speaker and a joy to listen and learn from! He is definately the real.deal!!😎

That is so kind of you, thank you for a great compliment, your blessings and concern, as well as taking the time to watch. Stay safe yourself Zeke.
Thank you for your suggestion, I will try it and see what happens. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

I really enjoy watching Mr. Ed’s videos very informative and relaxing
Thank you so much for those very kind words as well as taking the time to follow along. God's peace Art.

If people only knew how much work goes into processing beeswax....
Such an undervalued product.
I think showing this video will make the point a bit clearer. Still, I love doing the work just to see the end product, very satisfying. Thanks for watching. God's peace Matt.

After my burnout I have been thinking about a different career. Beekeeping is among my thoughts. Seeing your positivity and unbridled joy you have across your videos is definitely igniting my passion to pursue something similar here in Europe. Thank you ever so much!
No matter what you choose to pursue, I truly hope you find the peace you seek. God's peace Roxane.

Mr. Ed!!!! Good Morning My Friend! Now THAT is a big ole stack of bee's wax. The anti-inflammatory benefits of bee's wax is appealing. It's also good for the skin to prevent "environmental" attacks. I cannot wait for travel bans and social distancing to be lifted so that I can make my way to the Abbey. It's definitely on my bucket-list. *Have a wonderful weekend Mr. Ed and stay well, safe, and protected!*
What a great day that will bee to get to meet you in person! The smell of the bee's wax melting is intoxicating, so sweet. I know that's the reason the bees love it so much. Thanks for your love, concern, and of course for watching. God's peace LD.
Mr. Ed
I like that you reused every part of a bee comb. Bees do so much for us/earth!!
It is in appreciation of the work of the humble honey bees that I take so much effort to reuse the products they produce.......except the honey, I eat that. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 8 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. As I watched this, I kept thinking how difficult it must have been to do this by hand in pots over a fire.
Great job Mr. Ed!

I liked the part when the robed wizard came in to oversee the work being done for a while.
Because I keep the bees for a monastery in Louisiana and work on their property, the "wizard" was actually a monk as was the helper with me only he did not have on his wizard, I mean monk suit.

I must say, Jeff. I envy you in this quarantine. You obviously enjoy what you do, and it looks relaxing but still keeping you very active. Thanks for sharing these videos.
In a way, the quarantine could not have come at a better time, I simply have a lot to do and I am now given the opportunity to do it. Of course, I really do love the work so it's really not work at all. Thanks for watching. God's peace Lorraine.

All I can think when I see all that wax, is candles, all that wax should make beautiful candles.

Hi Mr. Ed! Enjoyed the video as always. I plan on doing my first cutout this coming weekend. It is an early spring swarm that has set up shop in the wall of an old house. Wish me luck, and god bless!
I can hardly wait to hear how you did, please let me know. Being a new swarm, it's a perfect one to cut your teeth on. I wish you all the successes on the removal! Thank you for your blessing and for watching. God's peace Brant.
Mr. Ed
first of all, I love this guy right off the bat. second of all, those look like big wheels of cheese, but I know I'd regret taking a big cartoon-like bite out of it.
Thank you very much for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated. And yes, though they look like a cheese wheel, they certainly don't smell or taste like cheese. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 450 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. Wish I could find someone like you to take on an apprentice. I've always wanted to keep bee's
Believe it or not, I felt the same way when I started out. Since I could not find anyone, I watched a lot of TH-cam and went out on my own. Believe in yourself and your abilities, you will go far. Best to you Anthony. God's peace brother.
