Very skeptical, but IT WORKED! READ THIS!! Be patient on the plug, take your time. Then move yellow mute wire over one slot. Then, attach the yellow mute and the light green parking break wire together. Then use both of these and splice with the black ground wire from the other smaller plug. Make sure that wire in grounded. Then WA LA!! People ask about the GPS causing the video to stop because it senses speed...it won't. Just do what I said above and it will work. All other features sti
I answered my own question. On a side note, if you end up breaking the female pin connector like I did, you can go to Fry's and buy a female D-Sub pin connector and it works just fine, instead of buying a whole new harness.
hey sound man thank you for letting us know the position of the wire but there's an easier way to by pass it, just add a new wire into the hole and tie wrap it to the harness so it wont come out. so you dont wreck the plug and if you need warranty pioneer will never know you if the by pass it. have a good day.
I had a store install the stereo, they included a bypass switch for parking brake, but when I start driving, the features ( dvd and nav options) get greyed out? How do I solve this?
i tried doing this did everything you did but when i connect the 3 wire together an ground them the screen wont turn on ,but when i take the "mute" wire off an ground it seperate the screen turns on.. help me please?
Why cut the cable??? All you have to do is open the lock on the bottom of the connector, remove the MUTE wire, slide it in the new slot and then push the locking mechanism on the bottom of the connector
a friend just gave me the Avic-930bt. when I power it up it automatically is on the password screen. But I can't enter the password cause the keyboard will not work.. letters and #'s unlit...anyone help
Bought the 940bt and have had nothing but trouble from it. Won't integrate with the car, software won't initialise so no Navgate, no App radio and no Musicsphere. Pioneer less than helpful. Sat NAv very out of date and wouldn't recognise Westfields Shopping centre in Stratford! Firmware update added a random password which rendered the unit unusable until I took it back to the dealer for a 4th time to have them re-set it. Nothing good to say about either the unit OR Pioneer. AVOID!
yall just did that in like 4 mins, i just hit up a guy and he said he would charge me $240 for "parts and labor".......not much parts or labor involved in that lol
lol cant you just buy the pin removal tool from Fry's Electronics for $5 - 10 bucks, and do a professional job with the harness? It will save 5:19 seconds of time

3:30 "connect this wire" what wire? the other end of the mute wire?
Hi I have in my car a pionner 200bt and I want to install a avic -x920bt! Can I use the 200bt harness on the 920??
I've already installed my speed sensor wire and parking brake wire. Do I need to disconnect those in order for this to work?
is that the same wire harness that comes with the unit, or do you have to purchase a seperate one?
Im curious as to if this will work on the x9115bt??? i cant find a write up anywhere!!!! thanks...
I messed up and cut the end of the mute wire to where half of it is still in the harness does this mean i have to order a hole harness again.
does that mean you can't mute the unit anymore or does the mute function still work?
@MusicFan1959 Yes, it does.
@kerberos2006
im curious and have the same question, did you ever figure it out?

is the SIRIUS integration still awful compared to the XM?
I had a store install the stereo, they included a bypass switch for parking brake, but when I start driving, the features ( dvd and nav options) get greyed out? How do I solve this?
What is the reason for doing this? Does it cure the “caution screen may appear reversed” screen o death?
How can I bypass the maps option on pioneer cw-900
is there no way to just get another wire with a pin all by itself? Instead of hacking one out just to move it?
Any idea if this type of mod will work on the Appradio 3? Or is it better to use a toggle, relay, or bypass?
do you connect the wire to anything?
Does this cause the mute function not to work?
@12HBK which dude?
if the mute wire snaps off at wire pin connection ??
Is this possible for the avh-p8400bh?
will this work on Pioneer AVIC - X9310BT?
hi, is this the same for a F9310BT?
On mine it says caution screen reverse have any idea how to fix it ??
i tried doing this did everything you did but when i connect the 3 wire together an ground them the screen wont turn on ,but when i take the "mute" wire off an ground it seperate the screen turns on.. help me please?
this may sound dumb but what does the bypasss do?
8 years later: it by pass the video (play movies) on the unit. now you can drive and watch movies at the same time. pretty dumb
Please help how you turn off this unit I mean completely off!
My amps maintain on all the time
Please help!!
Hello. How do I crack the Pioneer F980TV password using the Pen Driver?
Success! Thank you for the vid!
Hey is that Doug behind the camera 😱
Why cut the cable??? All you have to do is open the lock on the bottom of the connector, remove the MUTE wire, slide it in the new slot and then push the locking mechanism on the bottom of the connector
Tried it on the x910bt didn't work..... works fine but doesn't play movies while moving.
@xmdude626 the dude video taping

bro. you need to do this with the pioneer app in your phone
@danpark80 Thats why they invented ebay
You need to cut the connector just open it from the side
@spidaey No.
why cant you just remove the mute wire why move it over and ground an unusable wire
Shameless plug @ 1:43 lol
haha
that one dude reminds me of johnny knoxville
Just take the damn wire and hook it with the ground wire of your hu, that's it. You don't have to buy Any adaptors.
I just earth out the green wire on all my ones
lol 0:54 "lets see if he cuts his finger off...."
Just fucking do it man.

DON'T WATCH PORNO AND DRIVE @ SAME TIME!
Does this cause the units' mute functions (Bluetooth - Audio) to not be functional?
Will this disable the ability to mute your unit?
will this work on a Pioneer AVH-X4500BT ?
