My birthday was April 30th. I have made it a tradition to spend the day getting all my free or almost free items. I stopped at 8 places Tuesday. I got a free $18 dry shampoo from Ulta, a vanilla ice cream cone from Chick-fil-A, paid .37 cents on a chocolate chip cookie from McAlister's, free trenta Starbucks coffee, a whataburger junior, 6 min donuts from sugar llamas, a full entre at Bricktown Brewery, & last a concrete from Freddy's. When I totaled all the cost it was around $60 pre tax. Obviously didn't eat it all in one day but it was just fun & all of these places are in the same area of our town. 👌🏼
I do that but I give away everything I don’t want to keep ( usually ultra and Sephora ). I give away saying it’s my birthday and I want to bright your day! It makes me feel so happy to brighten up someone’s day.
We have a celebrate plate - the birthday person gets that plate! Helps to make them feel special. Also, with a tea pot full of questions on the table. At the end of the meal, during cake time, each person takes a turn reading a question aloud. They then try to answer the question. It keeps the conversation on the birthday person.❤
For my daughter's 9th birthday last month, rather than having a party, I took her on a Dolphin sightseeing cruise in our town. Cost me $32 for a wonderful time and memorable experience. She loved it, and I saved a ton of money.
Listened to the podcast last night but came here today to comment a great gift idea that I took from my mom! When we were kids, we’d get our friends a little Blockbuster gift card, a bucket of popcorn, and a candy bar so they could have movie night. Now that everyone has streaming services, I do this for my kids’ friends but might throw in a card game or cheap pair of PJs instead of the BB card. Movie night! Also just love to give “consumables” in general. Nobody really needs more stuff cluttering up their home!
I had to watch this TH-cam episode just so I can see George playing the ukulele. How fun! As a person who started playing the ukulele at 10 years old, I realized I never played the Happy Birthday song on the uke so I had to see what chords he played so I can learn it. 😅 Happy Belated Birthday to Rachel (Yay, April Babies😊) and George! This was a fun episode to watch.
I like the tradition that my family have for birthdays. The birthday person gets to pick what activity we’ll do, where we’ll go out to eat or if they want we eat at their place and have a home cooked meal. Then we do cake and presents and just hang out.
When I turned 42 (April 1st b-day, I have always hated it), my best friend threw me a "life the universe and everything" birthday because if you have read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you know the answer to Life the Universe and Everything is 42 :) My oldest daughter's favorite party was the year I was working a Renaissance Faire and we turned the whole fair into a scavenger hunt ( went to all the other vendors and asked if we could leave clues for the kids ) and she and her friends from Faire went around, collected all the clues and the hunt ended at the "pirate" camp across from our booth where we put the largest wooden chest we had and filled with trinkets and beads and candies. She still talks about it, lol. Happy Birthday to you both!
My best bday was non-stop movies all day, friends came to what they wanted. I was in high school...it was Hocus Pocus, Free Willy, The Firm, and Jurassic Park! They were all at the movies at the same time! What an epic summer. How movies have changed, now that we watch so many things at home on our couch.
Thankyou for the laughter fuel. I often find myself laughing so hard I cry. Rachel, I wish our kids could play together while we chat on my porch. George I can’t wait until I see you do your first standup comedian show…but I guess that’s what you already do. Your snark is addictive.
I remember a surprise party when I was in elementary school. My dad and I went bowling and when I came home and went to my room, there were my friends from school and church.
Smart Money happy hour is one of my most favorite things during the week. Happy birthday Rachel and George!! PS George, we loved Mary Kate and Ashley detective/adventure videos and books growing up.
I've successfully replaced doom-scrolling with watching Ramsey Solutions videos. I wish I was actually friends with y'all because you two are my favorite
How you can tell George is from Massachusetts: “100 people, that’s like most people’s entire graduating class” 🤣 I can relate. When I moved to TN and conversation of high school size came up everyone was always shocked at how small my high school was….especially since it was a public school. They always assumed it was a private school 🤣🤣
Yeah, that's exactly it! When I moved from New Hampshire to Georgia, I was convinced I'd be the new popular kid. Back at my old school, anyone new instantly became the center of attention, no matter socioeconomic status or anything. But in Georgia, I was like 1 of 20 new kids like me at my school, the graduating class was three times larger than my old one. On top of that, there were two more high schools in my area! It was definitely a reality check!
In Minneapolis the month of your birthday you used to be able to get 6 free tickets to a comedy show at Acme comedy club the month of your birthday which was so fun because you could choose your favorite comedian that month and invite up to 5 friends who get to go for free! I don't know if you can still do that but that was an AMAZING birthday deal!
🥹🥺 I love this. This made me tear up. What a wonderful thing to read if you’re invited to a birthday party. It feels so much more special too no? Wow I might steal this one ❤️ thank you
Happy birthday to you both. George and Rachel I love this show ❤❤🎉🎉thanks for all the laughters listening to your show at work and laughing keeps me going thank you 😊
OMG! You guys are hilariously funny! What a duet you both make! I love ALL the talk about money, social life, and everything else that matters in an individual's life. Always look forward to the next and the next and the next episode. In the meantime, I binge on ones I've already seen and learn something new each time! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BOTH! 🥳 🎉
Rachel I’m not a card person either because they get tossed by the recipient. However, I kept all of the cards my parents gave/ sent to me because I knew one day they wouldn’t be around to send them anymore. That time came in 2020 when they both passed away a few weeks apart. I have a special box where I’ve kept their cards with their hand written messages and it comforts me. Note I would only give special occasion cards to my parents and when they passed I found a box filled with my cards they kept since I was just a tot (including the crayon cards) ❤ matter of perspective I guess. Love the show and love you both!
I am a card keeper! And I put a lot of thought into giving a card. I got a card from a good friend this year and while driving I had my son open it and read it to me and it was one of the sweetest things I had ever read. I was tearing up. Sometimes a kind or encouraging message does wonders
My husband's and my birthday are 8 days apart. We share a celebration at home with our two adult sons. My husband cooks on the grill, or we order carryout pizza. I make a cake for dessert. No gifts allowed, as we're BS 7, and don't need anything. Like George, we have a monthly sinking fund fir gifts.
Loved this episode. We have a question that doesn't pertain to this subject. When tipping at a restaurant, when figuring the tip do you just tip on the total bill (tax & fees) or just the cost of the meal? We went out for dinner tonight and we asked ourselves "what would George do". HA.
Wait are both George and Rachel Taurus?! Mind - blown. We need a whole episode on their astrological compatibility as friends and general capacity to be amazing.
Back in the day when I used to put actual pen to paper and write letters and cards, I would send a few Dairy Queen dollars with the card - whatever was enough to get an ice cream sundae for their birthday, cuz EVERYONE deserves a sundae on their Birthday!!!
In Canada, you can get anything from Starbucks free on your bday, many people don't know it. One friend gets the most expensive sandwich they have, every single year.
I work with 24 ladies in my office and I buy dollar store cards and a Hershey bar for each birthday. I mean who doesn't love chocolate on their birthday! It's funny they have all come to expect it and say they look forward to their annual candy bar from me. No one needs a big gift and can't afford for 24 so its a WIN WIN!!!
We like to keep a tub of gifts that we have found on sale throughout the year then when birthdays and Christmas come we just pull something out that we know the person will like.
My 40th- 8 friends went to a beer fest and shopping in Chicago. My 50th- had a private dinner w the sane friends n hubbies that my hubby paid for. Worth every penny- yes we’re debt free even our house!
Honestly, my husband is the major drain on the birthday budget. He wants BIG EXPENSIVE parties with open bar and large guest list. I just want to go do an activity (ex./ bowling) with a few close friends. I’ve convinced him to scale back to decade birthdays since yearly felt rather childish after a point
Worst gifts - I got a box of dried beans, canned goods that were almost out of date, and stacks of random loose napkins. I did my best to appear grateful and happy, but I offended the giver anyway because I was not as excited as they wanted me to be. I'm also a very quiet and reserved person, so I'm not sure what they were expecting. (And no, it was not a joke)
I try to give gift cards to a favorite place or consumable gift.... Or just don't give gifts all the time. I work hard to stick to low/clutter free gifts for every age. I don't want my kids getting cheap junk and I don't want to give it. Experiences are the best. My husband and I didn't really give each other gifts but we make a point to do something meaningful together.
I've been binging these shows and what I like the most is the strong sibling energy these two have. Real fun, insightful and chill

Hi birthday twin 👋🏻
@@justaperson803 hey girl hey!!!
Nice to hear I'm not the only one!! I always get a free Grand Slam at Denny's, a free burger at Red Robin and free popcorn and drink at the movies!

Wow! I’d take that over a party any day
My favorite is George is complaining about chick fil-A ONLY giving a cookie!! Then ONE second later praises crumble for giving a whole cookie!
Crumble Cookie's cookies are a meal in themselves! lol
Have you seen the size of a crumbl cookie? 😂
It is not the same and you know it!
A single crumbl cookie is like 1200 calories, lol
@tidegirl6526 Crumble cookies are over rated and ingredients are Awful
George doesn’t look a day over 25! Happy Birthday George!! Happy Belated Birthday to Rachel!
Rachel’s favorite thing to say is “It’s great”.
"So good, so good" 😂

I wanna wish my two favorite Ramsey Personalities a Happy Birthday. This episode had me laughing all the way through it. This has made my day. 😂
We also make homemade ice cream cake, if that is what the birthday person wants! So easy and saves so much money❤
George, you have a great voice.
Stop it why am I crying at them singing happy birthday 😅 I love watching you guys. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE AND RACHEL!!
Best episode ever🤣Happy Birthday to George & Rachel!🎊🎉
