It always is interesting to me that we spent a weekend in Orlando, and the memories that always come up are from our trip to senior frogs, this really cool children’s museum we went to, and this restaurant where they had SO many sprinkles on their pancakes…NOT the Magic Kingdom. No shade on Disney, but it really speaks to the point that you have to spend a lot of money to create great memories.
And I posted this before she even mentioned Disney World! 😂
This is super inspiring. I am NOT an outdoor person, but I want my kids to be. I need to push myself in this area!
Mama of 5 boys here and I'm so grateful to homeschool so that they can be outside most of their days learning, building, defending and conquering. Ginny is such a great voice for this. Grateful to get to hear from her here!
Boomer here. Since our parents didn't have a lot of money, we had basics. A clothesline (jumping rope), balls and bats (street ball). Bicycles were an expense, but they started to become the norm. No 10 speed though. Finally...our bodies (arms and legs), for street races. Weekends and summers, we were outside ALL DAY. For my younger brother, he had all those things plus a skate board. He and his friends would go down what they called 'suicide hill' ON THEIR SKATE BOARDS, multiple times. The people that lived on that street were their audience.
With all that, one magical memory was watching a lunar eclipse one summer night while sitting on a porch. I still think about that night until this day.
I wish for kids they had what I had.
Rachel, wonderful show, thank you so much for sharing this message. So important for families!
And the tie in to Ramsey is that low cost, simple family fun is better in every way for kids than devices and pricy fake “fun”.
💜

We live in the desert and are going through a heat wave. So definitely swim in the morning or night.
Listened to this for myself and walked away with so much!! Thank you, ladies!!!
Love this!!!!!!!!!
Love Ginny, so inspiring! Thanks for the clip
It’s very hard to do in Arizona. We wake up early (5-6am in the hotter months) to get outside daily. We workout, go for walks, read, crafts, cook with our kids, visit friends and family, etc.
For starters, kids under 18 or 16 do not need a cell phone! Too many young kids have a phone.
Or a tablet for that matter.
informative and hilarious!🤣
Outside time in Texas 😂
My kids find old washer and stove in for scrap
I feel bad to admit this but without a tablet or phone I’m not going out anywhere with my kids. Especially the 2 yr old is a nightmare in public.
I think screens are very powerful tools in a child's development if you replace Roblox and TikTok with highly educational content.
