It's good to see you both together on both your shows. I love to see you both becoming self made millionaires. Sure, Rachel had a better starting point with no debt. That doesn't negate her accomplishments. Her dad fathered and mentored her AND she was teachable. I want to set my kids up for success just like Ramsey did. But, the bottom line is that some adults are NOT teachable. Be more like Rachel. George is also successful because he followed Ramsey's teachings AND he is teachable. Instead of hating on these 2, BECOME TEACHABLE! ❤

Regardless of how well Rachel had it, the moment she started her life as an independent adult she could have undone everything and jumped on the normal bandwagon, so it may actually take more strength to continue following that lifestyle because of the expectations she had on herself. A lot of pressure and she’s done incredibly well. ❤
Well she went from college into a well paid job and marriage with a good man who made a good income. Her dad told his children if they "misbehaved" they were out of the work and will. So it is a choice, but how many would do that? He gives her a lot of stuff for her children, might have helped with house, but they will never want as long as they stay good in his mind.

To all the haters - Rachel’s parents went bankrupt when she was 2 months old. My family was below the national poverty line until I was 15. I too am a net worth millionaire, my Dad too taught me financial principles. For the record my university was not paid for (and I dropped out). Her story is not special. She had the discipline to act out financial wisdom. If it’s not you, teach your kids!!!

I still do my budget in excel - it started with a Christmas gift planner for the 60 odd people I have to buy for, then onto my current account, and now I have an archive since 2007, a monthly excel page covering 3 bank accounts, and a savings worksheet. But the earliest thing was paying myself first to the work credit union when I earned less than €10k, and just increased that as I earned more over the years. We’ve worked hard to put aside money and pay cash for cars and replacement washing machines etc, and to overpay our mortgage when we could. So my dream of buying a boat or a small holding for retirement are not complete pipe dreams and day to day life is covered from cash.
Finally a "nepo baby" that actually acknowledges her privileges with grace and humility AND works hard to be great at her job AND helps other people. She is a class act. I love Rachel.

Is it her fault that others aren't? Just listen to the video. She acknowledged she was ahead. And you don't know what challenges she's had. George and Jade weren't well off to begin with. Is it your fault that you have 100k student loans? Is it your fault you got a 20k car loan? Why don't you judge yourself instead of others, maybe you'll get ahead in your finances too. These videos are mostly just for entertainment, don't let it affect you to a point you need to call someone out of touch just because theyre labeled "millionaires". She was never poor, they always had a nice home and food and clothes and how many "poor" people have 3 state tuitions paid for their kids. He could have sent them elsewhere but it didn't make fiscal sense to him. (and kept them closer) They all have million dollar homes and Dave's is enormous. Grandkids have values I'm sure but Papa Dave spoils them rotten. I'm sure they have to instill things at home to have them know they can't just ask Grandpa. He bought them all motorized cars to drive, his daughter Denise asked for a small swing, he bought a large complex of swings, slides etc. It's fun but he must have different rules for the grandbabies. : )

They had a nice home, she admits she doesn't remember not having money really except they didn't eat out on Sunday's when people at church did. Dave worked and saved enough to send them all to college and pay for weddings and maybe some of their large homes. They weren't "poor" for long, he had a misstep and got back on track. The beater car didn't last long and he NEVER asked Sharon to work or feel guilty they had more children. He makes some feel bad wanting to stay home because they make 40 or 50,000 and need more money. He obviously made great money and didn't need Sharon to pitch in.

She did remember and as a toddler, you don't care about most things She had her room, she had chores, got a 1.00 for certain ones, had toys, etc. Dave was never "poor" for long. He saved being a businessman and salesman hundreds of thousands of dollars and cash flowed college and homes and cars. She wasn't poor but they did have a strict budget. It was more like a bump.She did allude he was very strict and her mom would take them clothes shopping for latest styles and he wouldn't like them. Her teens seemed the most that affected her and she'll not tell (and shouldn't ) their family issues then or now.
As an early childhood educator and mom, start reading to your children as earlly as possible. The time spent with them is a special. It is a connecting time and starts good habits in your relationship.
Read to your kids from day 1! It is so important for development, it didn't matter if they are too little to understand their brains are showing everything up like a sponge and it will all come together. That sounds like an adorable book with an important message and like y'all said, adults need the lessons and reminders too!
Rachel, dont feel bad at all! The internet makes it SO easy to find out information like you did with the bride. I use these situations as a great way to show my teens how easy it is to find information about a person on the internet. So they need to be careful what the share!

People keep bringing up Rachel's dad. To me if she claimed that she didn't get any help, that is when I would have an issue with her. She has never claimed that at all. She is honest and seems to be grateful for what she has.
yes, she doesn't lie. She knows she is more than a miillionaire, has a 5 + bedroom home, gorgeous grounds, she can do whatever she wants to some degree and her inheritance will be substantial unless his company tanks. But she knows behavior, she can spend daily on Amazon and it's fine but knows others can't, so tries to relate. I'm sure she thanks God daily and tries to bring her kids up to know they don't need to have everything they want.
I reccomend starting to read to your child at birth. They don't need to make eye-contact to hear your voice. I brought books to the hospital and started reading to my son before we even brought him home.

I approve the short sale approach to home buying. My wife and I bought a foreclosure as our first home (I jokingly call it our 9 year flip), upon selling we move right into a short sale. It’s been a great way to get our net worth up to where it should have been (we started out life behind the power curve and needed a bump, this sweat equity was that bump we needed). Once we have the money I want to keep repeating the process buying, flipping renting (kind of the bigger pockets brrrr method with one r removed).

If only I knew that by saving and investing $100 in my 20's I could have been a millionaire....wow. My reality was that I left home at age 17 and I was pretty busy working my way through college myself and going to classes. Full time work, full time school and studying does not leave much time leftover. I was living on $2,000 on per year...not really feasible to even save $100.00 a month even if I knew the trick then. In my family it was 18 and out....no support for higher education. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college. Today we have a $475,000 condo (with $95,000 left on the mortgage) $125,000 in my IRA and $55,000 in cash. That has taken my WHOLE LIFE to accomplish. My overall intention is to have enough money to live on the rest of my life and be peaceful.
I love the new children's book and would love to hear more about ways to temper easy spending on your child. I have only one and it took him 9 years to get here. Really want to avoid spoiling him as it is very easy in this situation. Thank you.☺️

I went to a Total Money Makeover event back between 2005-2007 timeframe and she was at the event. She was just a teenager at the time, acne and all (sorry Rachael) and it's so wonderful to see her still involved and so passionate. I generally limit Amazon purchases to once a month. So everything has to sit for 30 days and be reevaluated and prioritized.

She was never poor, they always had a nice home and food and clothes and how many "poor" people have 3 state tuitions paid for their kids. He could have sent them elsewhere but it didn't make fiscal sense to him. (and kept them closer) They all have million dollar homes and Dave's is enormous. Grandkids have values I'm sure but Papa Dave spoils them rotten. I'm sure they have to instill things at home to have them know they can't just ask Grandpa. He bought them all motorized cars to drive, his daughter Denise asked for a small swing, he bought a large complex of swings, slides etc. It's fun but he must have different rules for the grandbabies. : )
@AnonAnonUK2024 For real though, she lived as I did . Coupons, consign and only buying things on sale. I still don't buy full price. They had a nice home, she admits she doesn't remember not having money really except they didn't eat out on Sunday's when people at church did. Dave worked and saved enough to send them all to college and pay for weddings and maybe some of their large homes. They weren't "poor" for long, he had a misstep and got back on track. The beater car didn't last long and he NEVER asked Sharon to work or feel guilty they had more children. He makes some feel bad wanting to stay home because they make 40 or 50,000 and need more money. He obviously made great money and didn't need Sharon to pitch in.
@AnonAnonUK2024 She mentioned on show with all 3 kids, it wasn't that bad. She did remember and as a toddler, you don't care about most things She had her room, she had chores, got a 1.00 for certain ones, had toys, etc. Dave was never "poor" for long. He saved being a businessman and salesman hundreds of thousands of dollars and cash flowed college and homes and cars. She wasn't poor but they did have a strict budget. It was more like a bump.She did allude he was very strict and her mom would take them clothes shopping for latest styles and he wouldn't like them. Her teens seemed the most that affected her and she'll not tell (and shouldn't ) their family issues then or now.
As an early childhood educator and mom, start reading to your children as earlly as possible. The time spent with them is a special. It is a connecting time and starts good habits in your relationship.

Read to your kids from day 1! It is so important for development, it didn't matter if they are too little to understand their brains are showing everything up like a sponge and it will all come together. That sounds like an adorable book with an important message and like y'all said, adults need the lessons and reminders too!

Rachel, dont feel bad at all! The internet makes it SO easy to find out information like you did with the bride. I use these situations as a great way to show my teens how easy it is to find information about a person on the internet. So they need to be careful what the share!

People keep bringing up Rachel's dad. To me if she claimed that she didn't get any help, that is when I would have an issue with her. She has never claimed that at all. She is honest and seems to be grateful for what she has.
yes, she doesn't lie. She knows she is more than a miillionaire, has a 5 + bedroom home, gorgeous grounds, she can do whatever she wants to some degree and her inheritance will be substantial unless his company tanks. But she knows behavior, she can spend daily on Amazon and it's fine but knows others can't, so tries to relate. I'm sure she thanks God daily and tries to bring her kids up to know they don't need to have everything they want.

I approve the short sale approach to home buying. My wife and I bought a foreclosure as our first home (I jokingly call it our 9 year flip), upon selling we move right into a short sale. It’s been a great way to get our net worth up to where it should have been (we started out life behind the power curve and needed a bump, this sweat equity was that bump we needed). Once we have the money I want to keep repeating the process buying, flipping renting (kind of the bigger pockets brrrr method with one r removed).
She lives in a 5 or 6 bedroom mansion with 5.5 baths. Short sale is nice but it's relative.

I purchased 2 copies of her new book after watching this episode.
If only I knew that by saving and investing $100 in my 20's I could have been a millionaire....wow. My reality was that I left home at age 17 and I was pretty busy working my way through college myself and going to classes. Full time work, full time school and studying does not leave much time leftover. I was living on $2,000 on per year...not really feasible to even save $100.00 a month even if I knew the trick then. In my family it was 18 and out....no support for higher education. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college. Today we have a $475,000 condo (with $95,000 left on the mortgage) $125,000 in my IRA and $55,000 in cash. That has taken my WHOLE LIFE to accomplish. My overall intention is to have enough money to live on the rest of my life and be peaceful.
I would highly encourage you to read to little Mia each night! We have a 10 month old and have been doing that since day 1.

I read to my kids while they were babies. start young with reading and music...including infants!
I went to a Total Money Makeover event back between 2005-2007 timeframe and she was at the event. She was just a teenager at the time, acne and all (sorry Rachael) and it's so wonderful to see her still involved and so passionate. She has worked hard, for many years and her personality is always so refreshing. Loved. the video!
