MG has announced prices of the country’s smallest four-seater EV, the Comet. The ultra compact electric vehicle retails in India from a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh. Pricing is a bit high. If people invest a little more, they can get Tiago ev which is a better-looking and fully functional car. If they had priced it below 6 or 5 lacs, could have been a second car for people traveling within city limits.

@@saitama2508 I get that this is not being marketed as a fully functional car. But buying a non functional car at 8 lacs for Indian customers is a bit too much to ask for. If this is marketed to office goers at arnd 5 lacs, it would sell a lot.

Comet offers a different value for city use. The ease of manuvering in congested spaces, & ease of parking makes it worth the price. Moreover the range of 230 Kms is more than adequate for all city users.
Just because its small doesn't mean it has to be low priced. Making such a small car with that range has its price.
