I would love the real Ale and fish and chips. Been there, tried it, loved it. Even enjoyed a Guinness in Ireland. Monkey Garage has sure spread. England loves them and great to see the feelings are mutual with Richard enjoying England
Try the Guinness export in bottles it's double strength and travels well 👊

While I was in the USAF, I spent a lot of time in the UK. I LOVE your Ale, and fish and chips. I apologize for my good friend Richard's lack of cultural skills. The British people are the only people that ever made me feel welcome in their home country! (as a USAF traveler)
disliking other country food or beer its not lack of culture, plus british food its boring compared to what richard can eat in texas

Hey Thomas, I'm ex RAF and we worked with the USAF based here on many occasions. We loved working and partying with you guys , as well as us making you feel welcome you were always so hospitable to us on your bases, Little Rissington, Upper Heyford . For us Brits, although in our own country the USAF made their British bases home from home so it was like walking into a small piece of America with BASE exchange and the bars etc...had my first taste of Michelob in the 80s at Upper Heyford ! Love and respect GB/USA.

That fish ‘n’ chips is not the traditional dish. Get it from a chippy (fish and chip shop), chips fried in lard & served in a newspaper with a wooden fork with no lemon and either eat it at home or as street food.
That size fish isn’t really normal, you can get them but not that common. The portion of chips is meant to be roughly the same size as the fish (if you order regular size), also not in a basket.
Lmao, they fry chips and fish in cooking OIL in fish n chip shops not lard 🤣

Mashed peas are just three to four steps shy of Pea soup and mashed potatoes here in the US are three to four steps shy of being a Shepherd's pie according to my British neighbor lol. Depending on the recipe true English bangers are amazing!. He also said that people would be surprised to find out how many British people don't actually like fish. Me I like fish especially when it's done on the smoker using fruit wood and dipping it into a white sauce..
