Its actually a racing simulator. Games like need for speed, burnout and split second are arcade. Know your game genres. The horizon series still play the exact same as the regular forzas. Just cause its "open world" doesn't automatically make it an arcade.

You're talking about the technical side, I'm talking about in-game content, especially and specifically the content that repeats itself like smashing boards, racing in familiar drift and street races, and going off-road every now and then. I'll give credit where it's due, the Horizon Stories seems very interesting, but I can imagine Horizon 4 being another triple A game where there are more hours doing the same kinds racing-type things, than branching out in unexpected ways. Again, I love what FH has offered over the past 6 years as an alternative to the FM series, but to stay fresh you need new things consistently, and here it looks like a mere upgrade over Horizon 3, no evolution or drastic changes-and you wonder why Telltale went bust.
Story based games get 10 because there aren't games that can do one thing better than them. For racing games, driveclub will always have beter graphics, nfs will always have better customization, (for now) gt and forza will have better car list, the crew will have a bigger map and you will never be able to combine all these in one game
@@erdbeerenrex Yes even in horizon there is some degree of sim. There can be a lot fine tuning done through gearing, camber, tire size, tire compound, and aero.
honestly what does this series need to do to get a 10, it's ridiculous. This review literally has no faults. It's great that it got such a high score, but I just have the feeling IGN aren't giving this a 10 because of the type of game it is (which makes no sense to me). You can't say it's 'upped the ante once again, it's blown the bloody doors off', and only have the score 0.1 better than last time.

Soooo for anybody wanting to keep shitting on Microsoft maybe purchasing Playground Games was a great move after all for Gamers. If they can bring that much creativity to a racing game to earn it a 9.6 score thank about what greatness they will be bringing to the new unannounced title they're working on. Also its not unannounced and My cousin who works for Playground games here in the UK. He said its going to be controversial due to It being a service game version of Fable 4 with Microtransactions for cosmetics and player upgrades. Hope they change it but he said Microsoft are pressuring them.

As a PS4 owner, I can honestly say that Forza Horizon series being on Xbox is gutting. Actually bought an Xbox a few years ago to play Horizon 3 but sold it because I didn’t use it after that.
Dont worry bud, if you played fh3 there is no point in playing fh4. Sure it has better graphics but the online experience is absolute trash and they have removed all toyota and lexus vehicles from fh4.

@@deviny What do you mean why? I can play horizon 4 when It's out next week and I can play old games for nostalgia at the same time. Does not have to be one or the other. A lot of the devs for PGR work at playground games as there some PGR DNA in this game. Oh and PGR had bikes that actually worked.
The main issue I have with Horizon 4 is the sounds of cars. The V12 in the Ferrari LaFerrari sounds more like a V8 and the Dodge Viper ACR has a notable hint of V8, taking away the Viper’s “feature piece”. I’m not the only one to complain about this, because a lot of other players have stated their thoughts on the forums, hoping that the feedback will be taken onboard by Playground Games.
Had the demo a while back and got the game TODAY!!!! I honestly think this game is on point!! The way the cars handle and I can feel the torque in the 1st car the WRX the way it accelerates it is exactly like a real WRX. I can feel the torque. And the body roll is more realistic. And that dirt race at the start it's also in the demo WOW! It's a great track you have to do it in the WRX it's really enjoyable it's almost rollercoaster like.. And also the jumps are so real that on your way down I felt like I was literally falling and the impact was like.. I can't explain it wow. The cars are so real even like the golf and stuff. Wicked.
Every Horizon game has gotten better with each installment, how it hasn't hit a perfect 10 is beyond me. Forza is truly one of the treasures xbox has to offer and an even better thing to have on PC, it's just insane how every game actually gets better as if the current one isn't already perfect enough. I cannot imagine what Horizon 5 has in store for us, the next location I'd love to see is Tokyo. I'm sure everybody would get a kick out that or at the very least since that area isn't as open as these are, make it an expansion in the next game!
The only bad thing about this game is the Recycled car sounds, while they sound incredible, a 4 Cylinder Escort can sound the same as a 4 Cylinder Land Rover...
Been loyal to Playstation since 1997 but this was the one game that always made me tempted to defect. Finally got it for my laptop and it's a goddamn masterpiece. I'm gutted I missed out for so many years.
In terms of a game it’s incredible. But when we consider simple things like new wheel options and window stickers that weren’t added in despite how much they were requested, it could’ve been better. It can feel a bit like a polished off FH3 at times especially when customising cars

As for my Review: I would give this game 10/10 but the game crashed once, I had to uninstall it, logoff the account and reinstall it. Therefore, it's 9.9/10 lol
Playing on the One X, great game and really pretty in graphics mode. Not overly fussed about 60fps mode, I prefer the 30fps, just suits the game more somehow. The exploration aspect is perfect on this game, it's a genuine pleasure to just get in a car and drive to nowhere in particular...

I can play horizon 4 when It's out next week and I can play old games for nostalgia at the same time. Does not have to be one or the other. A lot of the devs for PGR work at playground games as there some PGR DNA in this game.
Oh and PGR had bikes that actually worked.

The soundtrack to this review is awesome.
The main issue I have with Horizon 4 is the sounds of cars. The V12 in the Ferrari LaFerrari sounds more like a V8 and the Dodge Viper ACR has a notable hint of V8, taking away the Viper’s “feature piece”. I’m not the only one to complain about this, because a lot of other players have stated their thoughts on the forums, hoping that the feedback will be taken onboard by Playground Games.

Had the demo a while back and got the game TODAY!!!! I honestly think this game is on point!! The way the cars handle and I can feel the torque in the 1st car the WRX the way it accelerates it is exactly like a real WRX. I can feel the torque. And the body roll is more realistic. And that dirt race at the start it's also in the demo WOW! It's a great track you have to do it in the WRX it's really enjoyable it's almost rollercoaster like.. And also the jumps are so real that on your way down I felt like I was literally falling and the impact was like.. I can't explain it wow. The cars are so real even like the golf and stuff. Wicked.
I just bought an Xbox the other day solely to be able to play this, couldn't stand being left aside any longer! 🎮

Every Horizon game has gotten better with each installment, how it hasn't hit a perfect 10 is beyond me. Forza is truly one of the treasures xbox has to offer and an even better thing to have on PC, it's just insane how every game actually gets better as if the current one isn't already perfect enough. I cannot imagine what Horizon 5 has in store for us, the next location I'd love to see is Tokyo. I'm sure everybody would get a kick out that or at the very least since that area isn't as open as these are, make it an expansion in the next game!

Pausing is actually pausing when online. Your car will be in the same space with the same momentum when you unpause. Game-changing

Been loyal to Playstation since 1997 but this was the one game that always made me tempted to defect. Finally got it for my laptop and it's a goddamn masterpiece. I'm gutted I missed out for so many years.

In terms of a game it’s incredible. But when we consider simple things like new wheel options and window stickers that weren’t added in despite how much they were requested, it could’ve been better. It can feel a bit like a polished off FH3 at times especially when customising cars

All Forza’s have wheel support and ffb but I’d say Horizon is better on controller do to the Arcady nature

As for my Review: I would give this game 10/10 but the game crashed once, I had to uninstall it, logoff the account and reinstall it. Therefore, it's 9.9/10 lol
Playing on the One X, great game and really pretty in graphics mode. Not overly fussed about 60fps mode, I prefer the 30fps, just suits the game more somehow. The exploration aspect is perfect on this game, it's a genuine pleasure to just get in a car and drive to nowhere in particular...
Game is getting delisted on december, buy it now or regret for ever.
