    WOW - response to this has been huge! The comments are amazing - really appreciate you all more than you know. Couple things:
    1) I have no idea what this mouse is that everyone's talking about. What mouse?
    2) The Salvation has some challenges for case dampening due to the leaf spring mount and all the switches weren't lubed or rotated for the vid, so I didn't want to sound check that setup bc I didn't think it was a fair representation of what's possible w the case swap.
    3) I ordered a Tofu 60 case yesterday since I think that will be the most affordable/accessible/easily modded option for a lot of people. I'm gonna lube & rotate all these switches over the weekend and I'll start work on a short vid about HOW good I can get this to sound/feel in a custom case along w some shorts content for those of you that just want the sound test
    Hope everybody has a great weekend! -bp

    As a keyboard enthusiast, and someone who actually owns another Hall Effect board, I was pretty excited when I saw this thing drop. Especially when I realized the Lekker switches are manufactured by Gateron. Pretty cool stuff. As a gamer, I also appreciate a board with gaming oriented features. Had to preorder one of these, and fortunately I did, as they are going to be going up in prices. I went for the ARM version, so it'll be here later in the year, but a 2-3 month lead time is nothing when you are used to 1+ years for group buys... I'm pretty excited to try out analog as well, since my HE board I own now doesn't have it, but it looks cool, and I remember this being a huge selling point for the original Wooting boards, especially in games like CSGO.

      You can use an mx style - even dirt cheap plastic ones. I use a very expensive Gateron opener but its not necessary

    Just got mine in and can confirm at Immortal rank in Valorant it's honestly kind of a game changer over my favorite custom keyboard I've been using, an NK65 with lubed silk red switches. It's a night and day different for strafe fights and for short peaking / counter strafing corners. I would love to know if anyone plans on / has switched the plate into another body and what the look, effect, feel etc. is because that's the one thing I slightly wish was different. Also considering lubing my switches a little bit more too but don't want to mess anything up - the stock ones sound alright but not as smooth as my NK65's. I would love to see a video about you modding this with other cases etc.

    • @moonmessiah9368
      @moonmessiah9368 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You cant mod the plate or the module in anyway like Brian said. If you do you'll likely brick the board since the distance between the plate and PCB are essential to the hall effect

  • @ErezShahaf

    As far as I am concerned, the whole "optical switches are faster" thing is borderline a scam. When you press a mechanical switch, the metal parts keep rattling and they may accidently touch each other more than once. That's why a simple code is added to the firmware; all it does is recognize when you press a specific button and ignores the next presses for the next couple of milliseconds in order to let the metal parts stop rattling. So basically you do not make the initial reaction slower, you just limit how fast you can press the same button twice (to a timeframe that is so small, you would never even notice it)

    • @syn3rgy66
      @syn3rgy66 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You are incorrect. While unnoticeable without testing, it is indeed faster on even the first click.
      The photoresistor in an optical switch is extremely sensitive and sends a "1" signal much faster than it takes for a mechanical switch to reach wetting current. Not to mention, the PTR starts getting light even before the plunger has fully even bottomed out.
      > 0.00000000001ms latency
      More like ~0.5ms faster response time, on just switch level, not even accounting for firmware delays.

    • @badseedtech
      @badseedtech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think the effect of low latency firmware and debounce delay is player specific. Commonly spammed keys being actuated quicker can’t be a bad thing. *Most* players probably won’t be affected by debounce delay, but some are.

    • @nickglover
      @nickglover 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's actually not true. Most debounce is done by delaying the input for extra accuracy. Eager debounce (what you described) sends the change immediately and then ignores subsequent inputs, but it's still somewhat prone to accidental inputs and occasionally even double inputs. As you said, this changes the delay between inputs but not the initial input. Deferred debounce, which is the standard, detects the state change, then waits a set period of time to see if the state is the same, THEN sends it to the computer. This is better in terms of accuracy but adds some latency (5 ms being the standard debounce time for most enthusiast boards). You can also do asymmetrical debounce and do eager for actuation and deferred for release, which generally works pretty well IMO.
      In and of itself, that 5 ms is really not a big deal, but for whatever reason, there's also inherent latency in many keyboards as compared to many gaming keyboards. The lowest possible latency, even using eager debounce (or no debounce), on the GMMK Pro, for example, is around 6 ms, whereas the Logitech G915 is more like 2 ms or less. Again, I'm not saying that's a noticeable difference that anyone should care about, but it is there and some boards are much worse than that.

    • @MrHALLUCINATION1
      @MrHALLUCINATION1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is incorrect. Running the code in the firmware still adds around 1ms of delay which is why optical keyboards have lower latency. Even this Wooting keyboard still has a 0.7 ms delay however the adjustable actuation and rapid trigger still make it faster than an optical in the real world. However it will be difficult to notice a 1 ms difference but the only 1ms mechanical boards I am aware of are the expensive corsair boards.

    • @ErezShahaf
      @ErezShahaf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nickglover For some reason I thought that the standard is Eager by now because the switch manufacturers have improved so much and false triggering isn't much of an issue anymore, but after taking a look at the documentation of QMK it looks like the default algorithm used by them is still the deferred. It's negligible, but it seems like I was wrong; the default debounce algorithm indeed slows mechanical keyboards that use QMK's default algorithm.

    Okay i know the leker switches is super good for gaming , but the compatibility of its mounting system is and the switches can be rotated for south facing is mind blowing. As a gamer and a keyboard guy this is just crazy , the possibilities are insane.

    • @GonexW
      @GonexW 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t really get the south facing thing what does it really do?

    • @alex_souls
      @alex_souls 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@GonexW Some cherry profile keycaps, mainly higher end stuff like GMK and EPBT have interference issues with north facing switches, where the keycap will hit the physical switch during actuation. This causes weird sounds, as well as a mushier bottom out as its not the switch bottoming out but the keycap hitting the switch. South facing switches, which is how mx switches and all mx clones are designed to be faced, does not have this problem. Hence most custom keyboard pcbs only offering south facing switch ports since cherry profile is the most common higher end keycap profile. The only reason gaming keyboards have north facing switches usually, is because the LED's are shown at the top in north facing configurations, which is better for rgb compatible keycaps. A non issue for custom keyboards.

From all the keyboard stuff out there this definitely stands out in function and is in a relatively universal form factor which allows for lots of custom stuff too. Very well thought out. Love the software customisation and best part doesn't need to be constantly running or even installed, simply awesome. Definitely going on the shortlist for "to buy"

    I don't understand how everyone can claim that "you will feel the difference". No you won't feel the difference because you are a human and nothing you do with hardware will improve your natural reaction time. Nevermind the fact that distances and timings are so tiny that you are physically unable to notice. Is it a good keyboard? Sure it is, and I would recommend it over any Razer, Steelseries or Logitech for the mere fact that you can actually customize it, but other than that it really doesn't make a difference. The only useful use case scenario I can think of is actually INCREASING the actuation point so you won't accidentally press a key you didn't mean to press, but that's really it.

    This review has sold me..... on the Wooting Two HE 😂 Finally, FINALLY someone makes a balls to the wall custom fullsize keyboard with some crazy mod potential.
    Id love to run with a 60% but when Im not gaming, Im stockbroking lol. Simply cannot do away with a full size and most fullsizes are cherry MX switch only (or light switches) and simply just sell on macros or RGB effect profiles.
    Wooting, a brand Ive never heard of before today, is the 1st brand that gives you everything they possibly can to give you a crazy tangible gaming advantage with freaking HALL EFFECT KEYS 🤯 but at a price that is frankly shocking for what they are putting in that keyboard.
    Astounding it can be done this cheap, real testament to the teams efforts in production design, streamlining and cutting a little margin to get the fullsize out at an affordable price and into hands. Crazy props, Buying one right now after watching this review and then reading their article about their production hell for it.
