- December 4th, 2021, Television One News broadcast a vial and racist attack on Tross Publishing and its authors. Gutter press and lies are becoming a theme from fake news outlets that are really just the fronts for governments and their damaging policies. In this video Andy Oakley, one of those who were attacked exposes them for what they are.
The Moriori faced a tragic period of colonization and oppression, including a significant event known as the Moriori genocide in the 1830s, where invading Māori tribes killed and enslaved the Moriori population. Absolutely correct.
What's interesting is, as you say, Moriori are not Maori, yet Moriori were allowed to make a successful claim to the Waitangi Tribunal.
Yet when I made a claim to the Waitangi Tribunal, they ruled it out, saying that I could not prove I was a Maori. Actually, I gave them 22 definitions of how I was a Maori, and they ignored all of them. So I asked them for a definition and they couldn't provide me with one, I guess that proves there is no such thing as Maori and the whole treaty claims process is a rort.
It's quite staggering how people have an opinion (or many opinions) and yet have never read any, (or watched the TVNZ1 news bulletin) of the books published by Tross Publications. Well I have read nearly all of them. Miss, Rose plucked "Auntie said", statements out of the air but never admits to reading any of the books, she does admit to "referring" to passages out of the books, Same goes for Hikorua, he forms his own opinion denying he has read any of the Books. TV1, and the juvenile reporter, then have the audacity to air it on nationwide news. I forwarded an official complaint to the standards authority because of the bias reporting (it got white washed as expected) if I were Tross Publication, or Dr John Robinson, I would sue TVNZ for both Slander and defamation. Great Blog Andy well explained.
The problem is the public do not see through the majority of the news publicized for the misleading nonsense that it is. The major corporations will also support the prevailing wind as they do not want to jeopardize their public profiles. The harsh reality is that the vast majority of the public is of low intellect but as a massive group with some dollars in their pockets are in fact the prevailing wind.

I would add that the intellect of the public is as a result of the education system, it's terrible. And it just so happens that the only people they could find to complain about the books are teachers, the very people who are responsible for the publics low intellect.
The question may be, is it done on purpose?

To answer your question on hoping Kiwis see through this fake news, the answer is yes, but unfortunately only the smart ones. There are too many that take this propaganda as truth and that is why there needs to be new broadcasting standards put in place that separates 'news' from uncontested 'viewpoints'.

Just read Article 2 of the Treaty of Waitangi. Both versions will go to answering some question why the government moving with this Three Water on councils
Reading Article 2 of the Treaty of Waitangi does NOT answer why the government is moving with Three Waters.
In fact Article Second does not mention Maori at all.
Also, the word “Māori” with a capital ‘M’ does not appear in any of the 1840 Treaty documents and so there is nothing in the Treaty that would allow iwi, or Māori to have any ownership or governorship in water.
Article second is addressed to the chiefs and tribes and ALL the people of New Zealand in both the English draft and Te Tiriti itself.
English: “guarantees to the chiefs & tribes and to ‘ALL’ the people of New Zealand”
Te Reo: “ki nga Rangatira ki nga hapu-ki nga tangata ‘KATOA’ o Nu Tirani”

Also Handy Andy has these Authors that you venerate had their historic narrative peer reviewed? I'm aware that you like talking narrative of historical event in a selective manner like how Maori had massive war fare without references to European arms being the cause of these massive inter tribal human suffering 😳. Maori were at war for centuries before the muskets. They took to the musket with enthusiasm, it took the influence of Christianity to end inter-iwi warfare, slavery and cannibalism. See Paul Moon's book "This Horrid Practice."

Speaking for myself, when writing a book, I use the APA citation method to show that I am referencing either a website, journal article, book or report. There is no need to have a book peer reviewed, either the references are correct, or they are not.
Unless one has a continuous video recording of every event that happens in the world, the ONLY way history can be told is by selecting the events that you wish to discuss and laying them out with references to other information to strengthen the points that one makes, i.e., its not just opinion.
Guns were probably invented in China more than 1000 years ago. We cannot blame China for the musket wars in New Zealand in the 19th century. Muskets were not the cause of the intertribal warfare in New Zealand, just as patu were not the cause of wars previous to muskets being available. Wars take place in every country in the world and the weapons are never the cause.
When you say Maori people have a problem with people like me, can you define who the Maori people are that you are talking about, and how do you know that they have a problem with me?
