    Fabulous! First ever golf video with No Losers.
    I'm an old guy now (70). I can't stand golf videos that spend 2/3 of their time talking about how losers swing. Just give me the good stuff in the front of the video and I'll take it from there...Bob in Houston

      Yeah, even pros do it. They're always like "I see so many amateurs doing 'insert silly move'". Rather than, here's what to do.

    • @nev7711
      @nev7711 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you're right Bob. I get so frustrated when they tell me 91% of golfers swing 'out to in'. Then they show a third of their video with a golfer swinging the wrong 'out to in swing' path!

    This video really helped. I was having trouble finding the "squat to square" position. I was pushing too early with my right leg. Both feet need to be firmly planted to get to the "squat to square" position. Once in that position, the right leg can push and help post on the left leg.

    This is the Mecca people need. My left knee is still forward maybe moving back slowly, left arm has the looks of a pretzel (not parallel to ground). In fact if it wasn’t for the golf club you’d think I was chopping wood. I do the drills diligently, maybe I’m a slow learner but I’m no quitter. Will keep trying. These drills although not perfected do lead me in the correct direction. You get my 👏👍. That’s hands clapping not praying maybe I should.

      If the left knee is still forward of centerline of the magic box then that's typical of one of two things. You're either not moving your hips really at all or you're doing a closed hip slide: rotaryswing.com/golf-instruction-videos/full-swing-basics/downswing/closed-hip-slide-golf-swing

    Hi Chuck Id like to thank you for helping me get from hacker to 5 hcp in 6 long years.Strangely your lower body advice was the part of the swing i mastered first,(maybe beacause Ive got large strong and flexible glutes and hips!)However when i changed from focusing on shoulder blades to pecs especially my right pec/chest area in the backswing and left in downswing I made a massive improvement. I wondered if you covered the chest /pecs in any of your videos.The biggest muscular change Ive noticed in Pros in the last few years eg Tiger,Rory has been in the Pecs/chest.
    The best gym exercise ive found for dynamically strengthening the hips/glutes are Kettlebells.

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pecs can only push, and that would be the trail arm in the downswing which is part of the "throwing" action that can be employed to add speed

      @@Rotaryswing Thanks for the reply Yes for me (I have very mobile joints) they help my arms from getting to independent and help the right sided pulling/throwing action through the ball( obviously all your great lowerbody and leftside advice has to work first) being able to do decent right arm only swings coincided with getting my hcp down. but I must stress it was the Final piece in the jigsaw!

    Great Video. I have always used my lower body to initiate my downswing, but it has never looked like this. You may have just picked up a new student. Stay safe and healthy. Jerry in Orlando

    Great video man! Have been searching all over youtube and probably most of the driving ranges in the city where i live in here in Indonesia. Funny that probably my fav coach is the one i never met lol. Just one question, you said that this type of movement is the safest. Then what's with all the injuries that Tiger have had?

    Apologies if I'm being dense here, but is the left side of the "box" drawn on the inside of the left knee or the outside of the right knee? They are in the same place for Tiger, but my right knee straightens a bit more, and I wasn't sure how to interpret your description of that line. Or maybe I just need to work on making those be in the same place :). Thank you!

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan Schmidt inside edge so the line is even with the outside edge of the knee cap

  • @jasontroutman9845
    @jasontroutman9845 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If your left knee is not back to middle of the box can you conclude that your arms/shoulders are a little too fast not allowing the squat to square? Also where should the Camara be placed to record this DTL? I would think that is very important

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's one possible cause, you could also be doing a closed hip slide or simply not using your legs at all. Here's how to setup your camera: rotaryswing.com/how-it-works

    solid contact is usually how great ball strikers describe their swings which is the best advice to follow: solid contact

    • @martingonzales6178
      @martingonzales6178 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the " magic box" described is an observation that shows how rotating the hips too soon or too late. too soon will offset the hands meaning a player's hips push hands toward the ball and the hands open the face as a result any one out there " fire the hips?" and witness the ball drifting right?" "the magic box" describes space.

    You are completely contradicting yourself.
    "Pulling and pushing". (The car pulling a trailer)
    "Left side and arm creating power"
    SOOOOOOOOO CONFUSED!
    "

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      jay welsh I’ve never said left arm creates power. The exact opposite that’s why you’re confused

    • @jaywelsh7011
      @jaywelsh7011 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your video titled "Increase swing speed this left hand drill" you say
      QUOTE "66% of your power comes from the leverage created with the angle created by the left wrist"
      Etc.
      There are also other videos where you talking about "Pulling" to increase power and consistency.
      What you are talking about in this video flys in the face of those statements.
      I don't want to troll or be negative, it's just really confusing as I'm a player who is constantly feeling stuck between right and left sided dominance .

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jay welsh that speed is coming from the release in the wrist angle in yes the left and the right wrist and you can see golfers who are very lead side dominant that let their trail hand come off the club which obviously means they can’t be driving through the hit with the pushing arm. Pulling for the backswing is about loading up the big muscles in the swing going back and control in the downswing with the pulling side

    • @jaywelsh7011
      @jaywelsh7011 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rotaryswing Thank you for your reply Chuck.
      I see many great ball strickers across the Journey who seen to barley be using the trail hand.
      Sometimes, as you've pointed out in other videos it comes completely off the handle 'a la' Vijay Singh.
