  • Worlds #1 golf coach Pete Cowen reveals to Danny Maude a Game Changer golf drill that will turn your ball striking from amateur to pro - It's a cracker!
    In fact those willing to put 6 minutes a day of practice in using this drill have said it feels like cheating when on the golf course.
    In the video you will learn how to move your right arm in the golf swing . You will learn that by getting the right arm in the correct starting position with driver and irons the golf swing will feel easy.
    When you get the right arm in the correct position it helps you get a perfect backswing. In fact once you have locked the right arm in place Danny shows you exactly how to move the right arm perfectly with his signature dumbbell move.
    But the golf lesson wouldn't be complete without knowing how to move it in the downswing. Danny Maude has you covered. There is no room for loads of complicated swing thoughts in the golf swing so you need something super simple. Enter Pete Cowen's 6 Min Split Hand Drill
    Check out the full video here as this is a game changer:

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
    Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
    I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
    On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
    Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
    I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I have hit a handful of 7 irons into a simulator that recorded upwards of 165 yards of flight. I am elated . To me it feels like I am barely swinging the club. Yet my swing speed has increased 12 mph . That's without having this swing mastered . *I haven't gotten the hang of it with Driver and fairwoods wood* Will you be doing more videos on this swing ?

    Great follow up on what must have been one of the best golf videos I have ever seen (lesson) with Pete Cowen. This was a transitional lesson, a complete paradigm shift in how to swing the golf club. For most of us that are arm and hand swingers, this was truly a game changer. Having said this, it is most difficult to keep the arms and hands out of one's swing. The notion that you are delivering the club face to the ball by rotating the body without arms doing it, helps one understand that the arms are only along for the ride, and that the catapult feeling come from keeping the lower body moving (the inner part of the swing). You did a great job (as did Pete) in helping us understand what is going on, it is now up to us to train ourselves these new feelings which will take a lot of time!
    One last point that I thing deserves more emphasis, is the pivot. Pete, in other lessons, talks about the "spiral staircase" and learning and performing that move in the back swing is critical to uncoiling and getting distance with this new swing. Much thanks for doing this!

    During my first hour of lesson I’ve got the very same tips and exercises.
    Thanks to this lesson my swing dramatically improved.
    I’m 67 years old and as you said, beside the improvement in compressing the ball, the body moves more compact, effortless and less stressfully. I’ve gained more yardage and distance is more constant.

    Thank you Danny for expanding on the lesson from Pete Cowenn! I have a left shoulder injury that gets worse the more I play. What I have discovered through your recent teaching is that I am using the left arm and shoulder to give me power by pulling the club through the ball. With this new approach, I am using my right arm (closer to the body) and the rotation of my hips to get power through the swing. It is amazing how much more power I can generate this way as apposed to my old way of pulling through with the left. I also don't need as long of a backswing to generate power. This takes stress off my left shoulder. I am looking forward to taking this to the golf course. My expectations are low, because I know this will take time but I am encouraged to know that my bad shoulder will not keep me from playing the game I love!!!!

However, I am now hitting short and high, driver and 3-woods off the tee, so I believe I am applying the same iron technique as shown in this lesson to the 3-wood & driver, rather than sweeping or hitting up. • @chrismcmanus1485
      @chrismcmanus1485 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My understanding is although we hit up on the driver, it’s actually a result of our setup (trail shoulder lower). Thus, I suspect this will work with driver as most swing adjustments do. I’ll give it a try!

    • @lilkayo1953
      @lilkayo1953 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am finding that the driver is only slightly different. It is really about where your power comes from, the arms; or from rotation of the body and hips. By applying this techique to the driver and simply moving the ball forward, I am able to get additional yardage. I keep the right arm in tight and use a more stable position of the wrist through the swing, make a good rotation with the hips, and catch the ball on the upswing. It is working for me.

    • @AndreeB19
      @AndreeB19 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Finally decided to film myself and get to the bottom of it. OMG… I’m a flipper! And a stopper. And a bit of a stander upper. What happened to my turn? Going back to the drawing board. One mini step at a time following this recipe. Word to the wise. Turn your iPad around, and film yourself. Many of you will realize that Danny is talking directly to you. Thx for compacting the video with Pete you showed a fortnight ago. All in a nutshell. The feeling you showed with alignment stick is just like using a French broom which I have handy for practice. Also I liked your analogy some months ago of slapping the water to splash someone in a pool, keeping the angle between hand and wrist constant. Same sensation of compression rather than flicky motion when clubhead overtakes the hands too soon as you demonstrate here. The old ‘magic move’ coined by Harvey Penick of ‘left heel down and elbow in’ at top of backswing also helps. Please can you teach us some drills about rhythm as I so often want to hit the hell out of the ball like I did with a hockey ball and everything gets out of sync? I hear even the lambs applaud you! Thanks again, Danny.

      I don't know if Danny was trying to hit full shots in the couple of clips with Pete. But you could see a difference in his swing, much more of a "rotation" swing than a "catapult". I think the modern swing is more the former and what I was taught (when I was young 30 ish years ago) the latter.
      I suspect this difference has come from the insight provided by video and the sort of analysis shown on Athletic Motions channel. I'd love to see their analysis of Seve, Faldo, Els, Trevino, Palmer etc.

My take away from that lesson was the feeling of that tight, compact right arm in the back swing with the reversed grip. It feels easy to repeat and that drill helped me hitting terrific, crisp irons during my round yesterday. I'll continue with this drill, then perhaps add some of the forearm rotation you described once I have the backswing portion engrained. GREAT and simple details Danny! Thank you!
