For everyone out there, Redragon switches are very easy to break and they are extremely tight in the sockets. DO NOT TRY TO PULL OUT THE SWITCHES IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SET TO REPLACE EM.
lol going into modding my keyboard i did not know this. i only slightly damaged the plastic areas where the switch puller grabs onto on about 5 switches, but everything else went flawlessly. (i bought the older 3-pin version in like 2021 and modded it only recently for anyone who’s curious)
This video is waht inspired me to mod a keyboard. I bought a redrragon k530 pr draconic 60% and did the following mod: 1. Lubed all the switch. 2. Added switch films. 3. Holy modded the stabs. 4. Added tape mod and pcb foam pads. 5. Used car sound deadner to dampen the keyboard housing. I couldn't believe the end result. The keyboard sounds so much thockier and creamy.
Yeah but I like thong better plus I was worried about covering the battery with anything especially something extrémala flammable like tape so I just did what I felt comfortable with doing. But thanks for the recommendation anyways!
I have this keyboard and looking to do the foam mod at the very least. Probably don't have the patience for the lubing but can you link me to the foam you used? I'm not sure what thickness of foam to get.
do you know what red switches are compatible with this keyboard? i have the white k530 non pro draconic, came with brown switches and i wanna go with reds but have no idea which type is compatible.
Bro I followed your tutorial but the problem now is that my keyboard keys aren't working. RGB is working fine but keys are not responding including caps lock
The k530 pro is so much better i have one and i bought some gateron milky yellow pros they sound so much better than the stock outemu switches the problem with the normam ones is that the socket is super tight and only supports outemu switches
I just had it lying around not to sure what type it is. Also please don’t ask for recombinations because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and I don’t want to be respondí for your keyboard not working because of something I said, if you want answers ask Google or hippyotech or switch and click they are a lot more qualified to answer your questions
that is waaaaaaay tooo much lube. Lube should never be used like that, that will make thisd keyboard a mess. The lube will be collecting dust and particles and it will be a horrible mess in few months. You need to use a dry lube for this, like the ones you use for table saw covers that never attract dust. Those tend to last as bit less but they are easier to apply and the dust is not a problem cause the dust wont adhere.

Very true I did this because it was my first time and I didn’t want to ruin a good set of switches
@@USBType3 so akko switches are compatible with outemu ?
You mean we shouldn’t lobe them or we shouldn’t pull them out at all?

I aint have a switch puller so i pulled them out w a screwdriver and bent like 6 of them lmao

If u put masking tape at the bottom of the case then coin mod + 2mm eva foam and pe foam on the pcb (no tape mod) it produces a marbly poppy sound :D
