Most of the bacterias found in Nature are already in our body. It's when we have an imbalance that the bacteria gets blamed as "sick", but all it is an imbalance. Most people's body do a great job keeping them balanced. Just because "some" people have had a reaction to flour, doesn't mean it was something IN the flour. Blind studies would have to be done where healthy people eat the flour and see if they get sick. If they don't, it wasn't the flour.
I love chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, but the cheapskates at the ice cream factory never put enough cookie dough in there (nor enough chocolate for that matter). I've been buying the Pillsbury cookie dough, which is labeled as safe to eat, and adding that, but I hate spending money on things I can easily make myself. You have given me that. Cheers!
Wow, John! This video is an absolute game-changer! Your step-by-step guidance on creating the *ultimate* edible cookie dough is pure genius. I love how you've taken the time to not only share a delicious recipe but also educate us on the importance of cooking the flour for safety. Your attention to detail, from partially melting the butter to incorporating the perfect mix-ins, truly sets this recipe apart. And the end result? A heavenly cloud of buttery goodness studded with chocolate - it's simply irresistible! Your passion for creating mouthwatering treats shines through, and I can't wait to whip up a batch of this delectable cookie dough myself. Keep the amazing content coming, John - you've definitely earned a spot on my 'must-watch' list! 🍪👨🍳✨
As children in the 60s and 70s, we ate cookie and cake dough raw and no ill effects, for me anyway. However, insight and understanding grows and I suppose there is no way of knowing how many stomach aches resulted from it and were mistakenly attributed to eating too much of it, whereas it was the raw flour/eggs causing the distress! Thank you for the video!
That’s probably because quality was significantly better back then with proper care of animals and overall food quality also people were built different 😊
This is an amazing recipe! My kid has a severe egg allergy so this has been an amazing recipe. To get the cookies to hold up a little better I froze the cookie dough in little balls and when they are frozen then I baked them. Thanks for making egg free recipes!
I made this today with 200g milk chocolate chips and 100g peacan nuts. I roasted these in a pan first until they were hard. Then I chopped them up a bit. The butter that I melted and the flour were a bit too warm and so the chocolate melted a bit when I mixed it all together. The result is absolutely stunning. The bits of nuts in there are just heavenly. Thank you very much for this recipe!
- 270g All Purpose Flour (needs to be baked: 20 sec microwave or 350° in oven for 12 mins, need to get to 165° to kill harmful bacteria) - 226g Unsalted butter (partially melted) - 50g granulated sugar - 275g brown sugar - 1tsp salt - 2 tsp vanilla extract - 2 tbs milk - 300g chocolate chips (or any other mix in e.g. nuts etc.)

This looks wonderful! I made your brownie cookies for a friend who needed some comfort. She narrowed an eye and said "Divine and deadly. You've outdone yourself, Satan." I am a legend, thanks to you!
If you bake longer you can get some nice browning on the flour, giving it a nice toasty flavor. You can also use browned butter for an extra caramely flavor.
Hey John, I love toasted flour I do mine a lot It taste so good when what ever you made is done, what a great flavor. I don't like chocolate chip cookies that much but I do love the cookie dough. My Favorite cookie is a Snickerdoodle.
How long do you keep your flour in? I kinda want to try the toasty flour in my cookie recipe. I already brown the butter - and I take it to the brink of almost burnt. 😋
I love how John is unashamed to use the word "mouthfeel!" 🥳 Its a weird word, but it actually is important, especially when you're feelin' your mouth around some yummy desserts! Mmmmmm Tee-hee! ❤😅
i love your videos! the way you explain things and to the point! it really motivates me to keep trying to make new things! i’m so happy i found your page.
Thank you for this video ! I'm in a cooking school and might use your reciepie for m'y final test. I was looking for an original uncooked desert. This might be it ! :)
I had to rewind the part where he says "this is an edible Cookie Dough recipe, this is not an Edible cookie dough recipe" four times before I understood wtf he meant 😅
Nothing beats dipping strawberries into cookie dough. I also enjoy taking a ball of cookie dough and spreading it across a strawberry, encircling the berry with cookie dough before eating. Damn, now I'm starving.
I've eaten cookie dough my whole life and never had a problem. I'll keep eating it as I have been for 36+ years. I'm sure this recipe is delicious, though.
I always thought the reason you aren't supposed to eat cookie dough was the eggs. I never knew that about flour! I used to buy pre-made dough just to snack on! 😂 I haven't done that in years, but I would try this for sure!
I love your recipes ! they always come out amazing and not once have i had one fail on me. Do you think you could make a recipe for Strawberry Cheesecake Cookies?. I make them every valentines day after i found the recipe. You can use them for any occasion but they seem like they fit Valentines day perfectly. They have real strawberries have a cream cheese filling . They are a soft cookie but they must be refrigerated due to the ingredients .
I’ve always eaten some of the dough when I make cookies. Even better, I like the bits of biscuit dough left after cutting out the biscuits. I’m going to try heating the flour next time I make biscuits.
Made this today and while it was delish and perfect for a little sweet treat for the week mine turned out a bit more crumbly than yours. I am wondering what I should have done differently. Either way it is delightful and I look forward to trying again in the future!

Nice! I never knew that about flour! I'm going to turn 76 on the 23rd. Guess you're never too old to learn something new.
It's possible you can get sick from it. In the same way it's possible you might get struck by lightning.

@@Grayald Even more possible that someone could claim they got sick from following the recipe and sue him.
Happy birthday 🎂 for the 23rd
I always thought it was the raw egg why you weren't supposed to eat dough
You continue to be an amazing teacher. I am grateful to be one of your students. I am in my 70's and am pleased to keep learning.

This would be great with a no churn ice cream. Just make lil bites freeze them then mix them into the semi frozen ice cream! 😊
Ooh that would be good!
Oh yeah!! I also found some good recipes on CookWithAnna website

Thanks for the alternative to microwaving the flour. It's very helpful for people like me who don't have a microwave.
Yay! Cookie dough eaters are happy again!
John is my go to when it comes to baking, somehow you make baking or cooking the most complicated looking recipes look easy

laughs in all cookie dough is edible
Truth! Just not all is edible raw. Obviously I haven’t died from all I ate as a kid, but you never know when you’ll get a bad batch!
I know someone who was in the hospital because they ate raw cookie dough. They got salmonella poisoning from the eggs. 😊
@@Junzar56 YOLO :p
I just put the cookie dough tub back into the fridge after eating about 3 scoops 🫠🫣

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups (275g) light brown sugar
