I bought a 2013 CTS-V Coupe, black with a black interior back in 2020. It had 5,000 miles and I have driven it a bit since I purchased it and it currently has 28,800 miles. The car is an absolute beast as it sits stock. With a few upgrades that car can be an absolute beast. The LS motor is an excellent platform and the potential for upgrades is amazing.

This car represents the crescendo of the era when Cadillac pulled itself out of near extinction in the early 2000s by reinventing itself with complete focus on engineering. Unfortunately, they slowly went back to their old ways. This CTS was made on the Sigma II platform which was designed from the ground up for this car. The first generation SRX, for example, was an excellent SUV winning many awards. It was designed by Cadillac and exclusively for Cadillac (Sigma I). For the second generation in 2010 GM decided to cut costs and build it on the Epsilon platform. In other words, they reskinned a Malibu. WTH Cadillac?!

    • @casualmmafan6464

I own a 2009 CTS-V sedan with a manual transmission and absolutely love it, one of the most underrated/overlooked vehicles in my opinion. It's a great blend of speed and luxury (granted, not nearly as refined as most European vehicles) without breaking the bank in terms of price point, maintenance/service, parts/mods, etc. Currently undergoing an extensive build at the moment (416ci, Kong 2650, E85 w/ nitrous, etc.) and the idea of making >500hp stock let alone 4 digit horsepower figures in a 2-ton Cadillac sedan truly makes the CTS-V a modern-day sleeper.

I love the V's. I've had two, and hope to keep the current one as long as possible.

I fully intend to one day own a CTS-V wagon with a manual, they're just the coolest damn thing in history to me as a GM guy and certainly among the last of its breed forever. I had the chance to drive a manual sedan, and was just amazed at how easy it was to drive VERY irresponsibly, one of the few cars I've ever driven that I think I might've been actually competitive with on track (I don't race, so I could be wrong, but I like to drive and am good at it, and I was FAST in that car despite not knowing the car at all). Just a brilliant swan song, in my opinion, for fast, V8, manual transmission, comfortable, American cars that an American can be proud of and that truly was on par with anything else out there. And available in a wagon for weirdos like me, haha!

Great episode. I had a 2012 fully loaded regular CTS 4 door. Its was a good ride and good style. Not bad yet the 2 door looks pinched and reminds me of the older VW Corrado.

I drove the 2011 CTS-V coupe at 300 km/h on the Autobahn. I can confirm it drives totally sophisticated. It actually made driving at 300 km/h quite boring, as the suspension is so stable and the sound in the cabin is so quiet

@@BluesAlmighty sorry, you’re obviously a very smart and worldly person. I only speak one language so when I try to make a joke you’re probably way too sophisticated to get it. That’s why I included a cartoon face of a person laughing hysterically, you know, so you would know I was being light hearted. I guess you assumed I was just some mental inferior who was making a crass comment and laughing in your face. I think I made sure to like your comment to show I was just being jovial. I’ll use google to convert to MPH because I’m too stupid to do it in my head.

Whenever the last yr they made this bodystyle is still my favorite Cadillac. God I've the bodystyle with the power and the luxury for the price. I'd have a 10-12 inch touchscreen infotainment installed and itd be perfect for me. Damn it passes me off this bodystyle was such short run

This was the debut of the LSA supercharger I believe.
This thing was waiting to break loose, this car keep you on your toes, keeps your senses sharply aligned, keeps Jay young in a sense. When this thing came out I was in love with Cadillac all over again just like when the late 70s early 80s coupe de ville came to the streets. I had a fixation on the ctsv wagon also especially when I saw how rare they were, I've only seen two ctsv wagons here in cali alone, if I find one I have to purchase lol.
Dope ride along Jay you're the GOAT sir Leno. 🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾

A refined brute. Handsome and fast and quiet. Jay's right about heating and A/C. European car makers never quite got the knack of it.
Plus, if you have an issue in Kansas or West Virginia or North Dakota, there will be a Cadillac dealer to service the car.

I have a red 09 V sedan automatic that my old man handed down to me just over a year ago when he upgraded to his gray 2019 ctsv and man OH MAN is that car frigen fun! Puts a big smile on my face EVERY DAMN TIME I get on the gas, even if it's just a lil bit. As nice as my old man's 2019 V is I view this 2nd gen with it's LSA as more visceral and a tad rougher around the edges which I love, the 2019 is a bit smoother with everything but I don't care I prefer this 2nd gen...no doubt it's a collectible...even if mine IS only an automatic. Maaaaaaan I would LOVE to meet you one day Jay and have you sign the glovebox of my red v sedan.

The 1982-1988 Cadillac Cimmaron was available with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission. It was also the first Caddy since 1914 with a 4 cylinder engine. Although, I understand the omission, as most people didn't consider the Cimmaron as a "true Cadillac". It was basically a gussied up and rebadged Chevy Citation.
