      Hay big guy" I've got the fatbob cvo SE110 and i have been getting a low rpm judder not a miss but like she is running out of fuel as soon as i increase the rpm everything smooths out, i'm also running the 574 fueling reaper cams, is their an overlap issue where it has been said on the Harley network they call it ridding the cams where these cams may not be suited for very low rpm but i don't believe these cams are that radical, the bike doesn't stall and sounds sweet idling; can i get your professional opinion. Did a cam swap over the winter in my 05 ultra classic. 88" Went with the Andrews 26 cams. Really like them. Good low end power and the carry the power through to redline if you want to rev that high. Also put in the Sceemin Eagle cam plate and HV oil pump. HIGHLY recommend this upgrade. Motor is a lot quieter due to the increase in oil pressure and volume. Power commander V was also added to take care of the tuning. I have a video on my page if you want to hear what it sounds like after the upgrades. Thanks for posting this Gixxer!

    A cam shapes power. So it's up to the rider as you stated to match it to what, where, and how they ride. It's also important to speak with your tuner and make sure your other components will work well with your exhaust etc. Great job on another vid and have a great safe weekend of riding.

    Gotta give you an "Atta boy!" on this video. I took your advice and gave my cam choice a lot of thought. 07 FLHTCU with stage 1 parts. Oil pump was failing so I took the opportunity to repair/rebuild/replace most of my bottom end parts. I did my homework and picked the S&S 551 cams along with the TC-3 plate and pump (along with other valve train parts and primary parts). The cam does exactly what I need it to do. Went from 29mpg on factory cams to 36mpg (80mph on the interstate. Don't judge. That's my 1hr work commute each way.) 47mpg on the back roads at posted.

    The lift of the cam isn’t near as important a factor in cam choice as the duration and intake valve closing time. A higher duration with a later closing time will lower the dynamic compression. S&S has a few videos that explain everything in great detail.

    After watching quite a few of your vids and knowing how far I plan to go with my TC88. I have no intentions of adding displacement. I typically ride 2up and rarely go above 5000 rpm, so I feel the S&S 509 is the way to go.

    • @GixxerFoo
      @GixxerFoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Adding a cam to a 88 is a huge torque increase, the 88 doesn't make huge horsepower but it does make torque. 509 in a 88 is a excellent choice for two up riding!

  • @ut1004bp

    That Redshift 575 that you were describing as high torque..its Dyno looked like a mid range cam only (very poor low end torque) ..On my m8, 107, I went with the Screamin Eagle 447 torque cam and Power vision tuner, and no plans to go above stage 2, Cam cost me $100 (used, but no or very low mileage). It seemed to be very easy to tune, and I can't be any happier with the results.. and I think its the easiest on the valve springs, and only lost about avg 1 mile per gallon for the huge torque/power gains (about 45mpg now)

    Here's my 2 cents for Sportster s it's pretty hard to beat Andrews N4 cams likewise for Evo motors EV27 I can't even count how many happy customers with those 2 cams ! For twincams average guy on the street can't go wrong with the Andrews 37 ! The 585 S & S is a great cam for all TC motors ! Remember 88 to 95 require more compression for 585 & no higher than 10 to 1 for 103 & bigger for the 585 ! Also not sure if your aware but the factory valve springs ( beehive style ) can be used safely for about 580 lift cams ! There you have it my 2 cents !

    It's no secret that it's smart to buy a 2nd hand bike with all the mods you already want or don't want, on the bike. Stock exhaust and stock cam on any M8 when you already have 4 valve heads and fuel injection, is plenty. Especially if you're on a Cruiser. No need to roast tires, grow up and act your age, not your shoe size.

      Feuling makes some damn good cams, 574 is very broad and it would work really well in a Softail!

      S&S MR103 cam beats most cams all the way around. I love the reaper 574 idle but the low end dip has me questioning it. The MR103 even beats it on top but doesn’t have the sick idle. Ahhhhh cams.... the toughest single choice for us

      @GixxerFoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Feuling 574 and S&S MR103 are excellent choices, another good one is the Wood TW-222. The Wood cam gives you that low and mid range torque but still runs out pretty good for the touring bikes.

      Cams shouldn't cause that, l would have the tune checked out on the dyno. They can see that dip in the curve and correct it.

    I have a stock 2014 street glide special 103. I'm going to get a 2-1-2 headers and a high flow air cleaner. I like to take off fast and like to get power when I need to pass at hight speeds. What would be a good throw in cam to keep me happy in the low and high end if possible?

      Wood TW-222 is really good all around cam, power comes on early and it runs out really well into the upper RPM range.
