They ran a program like this through the 1990s and the first 10 years up through 2010 and they managed to crush almost every old vintage vehicle that was still reliably running and people could repair themselves in their garage and be independent of finance companies dealerships and expensive computer based repairs. I am still of the opinion that it would be less toxic to the environment to reuse the vehicles that have already been built then to crush them put all those toxins into the earth re-process all of those metals and plastics and oils to make a new vehicle that will only last five years at the most and have to be replaced again. A long term study would reveal this but it does not benefit big government or big corporation pocketbooks it would only benefit middle and low income do it yourself motorcycle owners and riders. That’s why you haven’t heard of it. Don’t be a clone for their robot clone army, think for yourself.
You are 100% correct! After that cash for clunkers crap our used vehicle prices skyrocketed and it ruined the used market. You couldn't get a running car for 500 bucks anymore and totally screwed everyone.
I think early carburated Twin Cam 88s are going to be the go-to machines for those of us that want something reliable that can be modified. Sorry I sold my 01 RK.

Not giving up my '93, '97, or my 2012, with one of the last race tuners sold in the U.S. & Dyno'd.😅😂🤣 The E.P.A. is a JOKE! If one knows how to weld, make your own stepped headers. I did for the '93.
If you don't know how to weld. Head to the community college and learn. EPA would go nuts with me. When they banned leaded gas, I wasn't destroying my bike. I probably dump way more lead adding my own than the gas ever did.
80 ci evo, with an Andrews cam, ported heads, carburetor tuned, with drag pipes. Zero emissions!! Softail Yes, still won’t out run a M8. But I love it, and it’s fast enough for me!! Great video as always!!
If you can afford it buy now and hang onto it till you need it. I bought a 131 crate engine and 131 conversion kit, just for when the engine gets tired. Cost effective? Probably not. Do I sleep worriless at night? Yes
I own and ride 3 old Harleys 1949, 1957, and 1968. My garage, house, and backyard shed is parts bin and a swap meet that nothing ever gets sold from 😂. You've got to trade for something that I need in order to get what I have.
like you I have the old stuff, 1969, 1977, 2 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983. and lots of parts I roll around naked in when no one's looking, hahaha always looking for something older but the prices on the older stuff makes me shy away, AMF bikes are good if built right.
I love those mom and pop bikes shops, I can go broke if I ain't careful or have to come back with the truck cause I can't carry what all I bought on the bike lol.
The opportunity for swap meet trading and bartering are about to grow in a big way. Traded items are not revenue items as I understand it. No taxation, no transactions to register just friends swapping parts out of the love of motorcycles. They can’t tax or quantify that now or ever.
I have a 883 and have no problem with vibration. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine and 37 back tires and 17 front ones and 3 belts in 25 years. Very reliable and dependable transportation as l don't have a car 🚗. I just had the carburetor on my Sportster cleaned for the first time in 25 years. Oil temp is 200* 2 up in Florida in the summer ⛱️🌞. No engine heat issues at all. No experience with EFI rubber mounted frames. My Sportster has outlasted all of my Honda's put together.
i always told my friends that this day would come. as long as someone is tech savvy....unlocking and tuning a ECU on a motorcycle is going to be a breeze... all the programming could be done at home... we are going BACKWARDS in time... more DIY than ever is coming and i actually enjoy it... not enjoying the EPA part of things but you get my point.
@GixxerFoo well, I mean it's cool that we can have shops do it for us... but I miss the creativity that came from the " old heads" ... I'm almost 32 and I remember, as a kid, bike shows had the same bike... but done is so many ways... now? It's like going to an outdoor dealership... they all look the same. ( unless VERY custom )
I am not giving my bike away or trade them in, for years I have been buying parts for each one of the mostly old new stock, I have 3 anniversary Harley’s and a 2015 heritage and a 2018 road glide ultra, I got tuners for all of them, exhaust and other high performance stuff, like I said before EPA should give motorcycles an exemption but they won’t, as it is some stuff for my 2015 Harley’s is already saying obsolete, so I get the parts were I can, and I will keep buying and stashing them away, I knew this would happen sooner or later, I even have a few brand new extra tuners brand new that are not made anymore stashed away also, keep it going your videos are great and informative!
Hi Foo , sound saves lives, I know this is a slightly different scenario, but two weeks ago I was down in my local town, I looked both ways to see if there’s anything coming in traffic, I went to step on to the road I nearly got hit by electric car, Luckily, I had my wits about me, I think they are going about this in the wrong direction , As there is more things out in the road in atmosphere, that produces more pollution than what a motorcycle does, that should be their first priority, not the minority motorbikes, we will not be allowed to fart soon. We will need a pipe up by us to collect it. Perhaps we should save it and send it TO THE EPA , we are being persecuted because we ride motorbikes, And obviously we’d love our freedom, and we are being manipulated and being controlled by government authorities that are taking over the world and we all know where that’s going,
They argue against us that loud pipes save lives, but like you just mention with the electric car they are trying to mandate that those electric cars need to make noise since they are so quiet!! That's our government for you! I hope you're doing alright and glad you had your wits about you!
You hit the nail on the head about the electric cars being as silent as the grim reaper. I'm currently in Tenerife and it's the first time I have seen a section of road used by sightseers that has a section of sonic paving. Car tyres hit the section and sound like race cars. As for the restriction on new vehicles being the manufacturer at fault. Couldn't be further from the truth. It's called type approval. It's laws we have no opportunity to vote on. And the testing itself is flawed at best. Freedom is no longer a right.
Glad that I have kept an older set of moderately used Screamin' Eagle and Bassani 2-int-1 exhaust pipes for my 2005 Stage IV Fatboy. I was going to sell them, but with this news, I think I'll keep them around for a while.
Thank you, I appreciate that! I try to keep up with the goings on in the market and talk to other shops and part time guys like myself. Exchange of information make the community stronger!
The stock 117 on my FXLRS has more than enough power to do anything you would want. The stock exhaust is not the best, but I wouldn't want it more than 20% louder. If I want some performance, I'll buy a bike that actually performs, like a sport naked, with much better power, lean angle and performance parts for a fraction of what it would cost to build a Harley. What really bugs me about this whole thing is the amount of government overreach.
I have an 01 Night Train with a Mikuni carb and V+H pipes from the time period and no problems. I like that simple style of motorcycle that is maintainable in my garage, it has never been back to a dealer after it was bought. The computer loops of sensors and fuel injectors take more of a beating on a motorcycle from exposure, chips become obsolete. Put a S&S Super B carb and 12" straight pipes on that new bagger while you still can, look like a strobe light going down the road!
I’m in the same boat as you. I have an 08 sportster. Electrical parts are not available and the ones are are super rare. They aren’t making them anymore and everything on back order the timeline gets pushed forward. I fried my tuner so when I replaced the ECM had to get a new one turns out since I had put it on all the tuners were illegal. Got a Screaming Eagle tune from Harley and it has no power. Can’t power wheelie, clutch ups are difficult.
You'd think parting out old bikes would be more "ecologically friendly" than dumping the entire thing into a dumpster to be recycled, but then, this is america. It also makes perfect sense to hop bikes up to the maximum to run them on a Dyno just for bragging rights, and park most of them in a garage, but then, this is still america. Good video, as usual.👍
It's really crazy when you come across a garage find that had maybe 7 or 8K worth of motor work done 20 years ago and the engine doesn't even have 5K miles on it.
Thy always go after the smallest portion of an issue. As far as pollution goes street bikes are minimally contributing to the issue. Private jets, industry and every other country on earth pollute a lot more than a 2 cylinder engine. Besides if they stop clear cutting and stripping the topsoil them poisoning the ground to extract the gold we could fix it. Trees take in co2 and exhale oxygen. Go figure so cutting down the biggest source of oxygen on this side of the world might be bad trees sequester carbon. Removing it from the atmosphere. So don’t believe the lies 80% of the problem can be solved by regrowing the Amazon. It affects the oceans flows and weather patterns as well. It certainly would be much easier and effective the trading one pollutant for another. Ev batteries very bad for environment
@@GixxerFoo It's the same with all of those "choppers." A coupla years ago, I bought a high dollar Paul Yaffe chopper for 1200 bucks from a local Harley shop that couldn't sell it. It was such junk that I used it for a door stop in my shop for a couple of years until a friend of mine bought it. I had never tried to transfer the title, but when my buddy did, the otiginal title kept coming back as some kind of travel trailer, and it ended up costing him an extra 800 bucks to straighten out the paperwork. From a Harley shop. I offered to give give him his money back, but he kept the bike. Some people just have expensive egos to stroke, but when I'm out on my humble little box stock '72 ElectraGlide or '97 WideGlide with only a custom paint job, the high dollar guys always come over and eyeball them.
Maybe the manufacturers will come up with a removable cat system, like the db reducers, that you can remove after point of sale but covers them for the sale? just a thought
That's a really slick idea! Remvovebit for the track and put it back before you ride home after "racing". I love the idea but you know what we would all do.
I’m fortunate enough to have recently received my DynoJet Power Vision pv4 from Fuel Moto about a week ago, due to your advice Foo, so hopefully I’ll be able to get my ‘06 FXDWGI richened up a bit before the EPA hunts me down for putting excess plant food into the atmosphere.
Learn to weld, make your own, sell your labor to others that don't have the skill. This is just going to bring us all back to skilled labor and away from the big names.
What is the date the tuner manufacturers are required to lock the fuel mixture ability? Also I just decated my header using a hammer drill, and a boring bit with an extension. I also put on 41/2” slip ons that were too loud so I wrapped the baffles, and now it sounds just the way I like it. I would like to get it tuned. I was thinking about getting a Power vision.
There's gonna be a spike in single fire ignitions and carburetor purchases. I've actually seen a Milwaukee 8 converted to a carb already. Guy bought an Ebay motor and put it in a custom frame, hell of a lot cheaper than trying to run FI and mess with tuning.
The EPA’s concern with motorcycles should be the least of concerns if there genuinely is one. This really boils down to a bunch of whiny people that just have a dislike in motorcycles from the jump.
2010 Softail Deluxe was a 96ci, now a 103ci. Very well massaged top end terminating in D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1. Came complete with one of them tuner dohickeys. 96hp, 108 tq. Guess I'll be keeping this one forever as a hotrod. Of course there's plenty of older touring bikes out there to add to the stable.
I am really concerned how much longer manufacturers are going to be able to produce no compliant parts for "race use". The big companies are already tucking tail to the EPA.
@GixxerFoo yeah, not sure what I'll do. One if mt best bugs is a HD Mastertech. He built the engine and tuned it. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a nicely modified older touring bike to start with. Maybe it even comes with its own tuner. Like my Softail. My Softail is a conservative build/tune. Still gets 40 mpg+. It's just quicker. Personally as long as the touring bike has enough ass to do 70 Mph, 2 up with luggage and merges ok, navigates on and off ramps etc, I'm fine with a conservative build/tune. I'm just not a fan of a few morons dictating how people can live their lives.
I see a lot of motorcycle recycling yards to pick up on used exhaust/ carburetors an a few cam assembly, even some shops picking up business to modify recycled exhaust, there is plenty of cheap meteric pre-bent down tubes to chose from.
I am concerned they are going to come after the cams next, high over lap cams aren't exactly emissions legal but they make big power! That's why screamin eagle stuff is unimpressive is the cams have no overlap to be street legal.
@@GixxerFoo I sure there are a few machine shops, that can handle the heat treatment of rolled stock, to make copies, an who ever said the cat, can't be a separate piece.
I’ve got two bikes, a 99 FXD SUPERGLIDE and a 2016 Ultra Limited. The FXD came with Screaming Eagle exhaust and sounds okay for now. But the Ultras’ exhaust is stock (and it’s in California), so I guess I’d better go to my mechanics shop and see about an exhaust while I can, and also check out swap meets. 9:24
I've got a great parts store here. If Curtis doesn't have it, it doesn't exist. I've been shopping at his store for over 30 years. He even has some of the impossible to find parts in used and new old stock. I got a quick detach back rest for my 2914 Street Glide Special from him for $120.00, including the wide back pad.
NY basically shut the whole conversation down by saying, "no modification to the exhaust system will pass inspection". it causes people to FIND all those original pipes that were just thrown in the trash. there was word that they would not send out your new registration unless it had been inspected the previous year. that doesn't appear to be true since i did get a renewal on my '71 which wouldn't pass because of straight pipes. the inspection process is all computerized with the state data system and they put the onus on the guy who does the inspection who has to log in to the system. nobody will risk a $5k-$10k fine for a $10 inspection. some riders are finding ways to register there bikes in other states.
Here in France, in à few days, motorcycles Will have to be controlled every three years (every two years for cars). This year, the sound made by the bike will not be precisely measured, just "evaluated" by ear... Emissions will be measured though along with other criteria (tires, lights, licence plate, brakes...) It's been a long fight between bikers and the government but apparently we lost the battle...
Hey bro , I finished the Duece I told you about that I bought with 50k on the clock . I only paid 48 hundred for it and It was a one owner. Bike is a cream puff. Anyway I put fueling cam chest and hypo oil pump, lifters and I threw in that screamin Eagle 203 bolt in cam , it was cheap but really made a considerable difference especially with my heads getting ported and polished like a mirror. Point being, I have about 72hundred in a very dependable Harley Davidson. 😊
We as bikers are nothing if not, innovative. When we started making speed parts, we made them ourselves. We went to a Machinest and they had a cam ground. Have you looked at Tuner cars? The advances made in performance in those goofy little cars is amazing. And who did The computer modifications? Some Mexican kids in California figured that stuff out. The EPA are the ones that Mac to send you the corner with fuel injection in the first place. We will adapt and overcome lol.
That's the attitude and the spirit we all need to adopt. Tuners will get unlocked, software will be modified, garages and back yard machine shops will open for business and we'll remain ungovernable. We just won't be able to order it online and have it delivered in some flashy box anymore. I will miss the stickers though lol.
Just saying, the Twin Cam was the last big twin that still sounds like a "Harley". HD tried to patent their "sound" in 1994. They completely walked away from it with the introduction of the Milwaukee 8 and the Revolution "Sportster"! 🙉
I guess i'm screwed. Been saving up for cams, exhaust and filter for my 96", but what is the point now. If i can't get the best performance why do it. I'll just stick with stock motor with my loud as fuck short shots.
Feeling kind of lame but took me a minute to get used to the cam. Never had anything but exhaust and air breather on any of the shovels I had. After a bolt in cam and proper tune this 96 runs exceptional ,at least suits me
I have an 04 carbureted Heritage and I'm already not going to my local dealership because it seems like they don't stock specific parts for my bike and it would take them two to three weeks to get them, where as on the internet it take a couple days on average.
Your videos are always great and full of information, but what is really impressive to me is your collection of harley t shirts. I actually had to look up one your wearing and being from Ukraine had to buy one.
I am glad you caught exactly what that shirt was in support of! I support Ukraine and the sacrifices everyone is making for one man's greed. I am also a firefighter and l saw what those guys were doing to rescue people and put out fires in the middle of a war.
I’ve been kicking around looking for a 100th Anniversary Harley as original as possible but I’d love to swap out the exhaust. eBay still sells old school drag pipes. Those will probably fit some of the newer bikes.
is this going to be strictly applied to modified exhausts and all performance mod parts in Leftist epa praising states along the coast, or is this going to be applied across all States?
Your right Gixx, when backed into a corner most of us will find a way to make it work, I buy used parts from places like craigslist, kijiji, swap meets and word of mouth. And as far as exhaust, when in doubt...cut it out, the old grey beards have the mechanical knowledge, we just need the younger guys to be able to write computer program or know someone who can do that and your back making beautiful loud music and having a tire shredding good time. and for the record a cat may or may not have fallen out of one of my bikes 🤔🤫Cheers from the Great White North.
We are gonna needs guys who can crack the tuners. Unmarry vins and make the locked AFR tables unlocked, it can be done it's just no one really wants to publicly stick their neck out there.
Same thing happened the with new gen Yamaha R1’s. They “locked” you out of the ecu so you couldn’t tune them. Eventually the tuners figured out how to bypass it. I’m sure the same thing will happen with HD.
Metric bikes most always were tuned with inline tuners like the Power Commander, but you didn't need much more than that if just did a slip on, full system and an air filter. My GSX-R1000 we flashed with the old brick of a Yoshimura box with the dials and swtiches, lol it was 2003.
I have a lot of good deals and hard to find parts at swap meets . But you should not limit yourself , I found a very good exhaust for my evo at a second hand store . 9:33
Timely video speaking of older bikes and parts. I have a 14 Ultra Limited bought used. Was thinking of doing a simple stage 2 with new cam plate, oil pump, lifters, pushrods, bearings, etc. Local dealer quoted the job at $7000 😮. Guy said valve springs have to be replaced too. That seems excessive to say the least and even if I went to an independent shop maybe I’d save 1500-2k off that price. Is that what guys paid for stage 2’s on the Rushmores? Seems crazy to me.
Ummm yeah that's way high if you ask me. Depends what cam you're wanting to use, a bolt in cam works with the stock valve train with no valve spring change required. You don't even have to pull the heads with those cams. For 7K I would order a Screamin Eagle 120R for $6500 and pay to swap the motor.
Just a standard torque cam. I assume he was quoting the SE 585. 7 grand is more than half what I paid for the bike. Maybe I’ll call an independent shop and see what they have to say. I’m tempted to try the job myself but sure as the sun shines, I’ll get half way through the job and hit a wall I can’t climb and then I’m screwed. Lol
@@shep68 At a Harley dealer in Central Texas, I’m getting a stage two for a little less than $3500 including the exhaust and tuning. The price they quoted you is ridiculous. Hopefully you can find another option.
I have a connection still that can set the “illegal” screaming Eagle tuners back to factory. $175.00, send it out and have it back in 2 1/2 weeks. One of the best tuners still
Im trying to figure out who this actually affects? Even here in CA we don't smog motorcycles. If you managed to have a cop pull you over and ticket you for an aftermarket exhaust, you simply put the old one back on, get it signed off as being fixed, then you can put the aftermarket back on... at no point is there any sort of smog or fuel air map check.
They are going after the manufacturers to stop producing what they consider "race parts" altogether. The exhaust systems with cats aren't such a big deal in my book but the tuners being locked into lean tunes. That I don't really care for personally.
They still have the autotune feature, but they don't allow you to modify the AFR tables which allow you to richen up the bike a little beyond what the EPA mandates. They still fuel (if you can call it that) what is needed per given RPM but doesn't put the fuel in for more power like they used too. They keep it as lean as allowable with the new tuners. But I will say and this is just my personal belief is that the tune you get from Vance & Hines FP4 or Power Vision PV4 will be better than the Screamin Eagle Street Tuner maps.
I agree screaming eagle will still be the most mild but I’m thinking the only way to really get the right tune is by paying for it but my concern is will the tuners be able to richen beyond epa regs
I swear you're talking about my local second hand Harley shop. It's in an old farm and the dude has a legit museum of motorcycle history upstairs with stuff dating back to the early 1900s on display.
Those places are gonna be our new safe havens for getting what we need. The government wants this cut at the manufacturing level. So sure the older stuff is grandfathered in but you can't get any new parts for it.
I own a 79 Suzuki GS1000 and a 2010 Victory. Searching for parts is nothing new for me. Definitely gonna rule out the weekend warrior bar hopper only looking to impress you with the money they can spend on a bike vs those who really want or enjoy beefing up and engine
Get back to the old ways Swap meets , I NEVER left , I had a 2013 fat bob 103 it ran to hot the seat was to wide ( I have a hip replacement ) every time i looked at it it cost money , I'm so happy I didn't sell my Evo and it's much quicker
there some smaller companies making some sweet exhausts in the performance bagger and sorta market and they don’t got shit in em but nice welds and and baffles that work for power and tq
You should do a build series and pick a good donor bike to show what can be done based on your wealth of knowledge. I'd suggest an old rigid mount, carb'ed, sporty 1200 or(and) an EFI 96 TC Dyna or Softy. (Post Hydraulic Tensioner or even show how to swap a spring thing). That would be awesome and probably get YUGE views.
If we can't get new "race parts" anymore what's your secret for finding what you need for your motorcycle?

'97 is your best bike
If you don't know how to weld. Head to the community college and learn. EPA would go nuts with me. When they banned leaded gas, I wasn't destroying my bike. I probably dump way more lead adding my own than the gas ever did.
The EPA is just another Unconstitutional Tyrannical three letter agency that needs to be abolished.

And all those old cars are going to be worth gold!!
Already are.
80 ci evo, with an Andrews cam, ported heads, carburetor tuned, with drag pipes.
Zero emissions!! Softail
Yes, still won’t out run a M8.
But I love it, and it’s fast enough for me!!
Great video as always!!
I'm sure it sounds better than any M8! 👌
It'll probably out last an M8. And it sounds like a Harley and not a Harlcati.
If you can afford it buy now and hang onto it till you need it. I bought a 131 crate engine and 131 conversion kit, just for when the engine gets tired. Cost effective? Probably not. Do I sleep worriless at night? Yes
Honestly that's a really smart idea looking at the way things are going!
I own and ride 3 old Harleys 1949, 1957, and 1968. My garage, house, and backyard shed is parts bin and a swap meet that nothing ever gets sold from 😂. You've got to trade for something that I need in order to get what I have.
Absolutely! That's gonna be a pile of gold you're sitting on even more than it already is!
@@GixxerFoo Roger that!
Well shit brother, put my username in some kind of death note so your family can contact me when your estate sale happens 😂
like you I have the old stuff, 1969, 1977, 2 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983. and lots of parts I roll around naked in when no one's looking, hahaha always looking for something older but the prices on the older stuff makes me shy away, AMF bikes are good if built right.
Swap meets will be my go to place for shopping... luckily we have some Mom and Pop shops in the Cleveland area.
For the exhaust we will have to do it like we used to back in the day make your own.
There is nothing wrong with that and I've seen some homemade exhaust lay it down on the dyno getting tuned!
Sportster motors just defy the odds, they are about as simple and close to perfect engineering as you can get!
I got my first HD 2yrs ago. I'll never go back to jap bikes.
i always told my friends that this day would come. as long as someone is tech savvy....unlocking and tuning a ECU on a motorcycle is going to be a breeze... all the programming could be done at home... we are going BACKWARDS in time... more DIY than ever is coming and i actually enjoy it... not enjoying the EPA part of things but you get my point.
I sure hope we see the DIY come back to our garages, we got so dependent on shops and dealers to do to the work.
We put the power vision tune on my 88 along with the bolt in SE cam. Very happy with the results. No deaccellorating popping or back firing period.
Video title achieved instant thumbs up before the ad stopped
Well I mean the EPA regulations really just created an underground market for what they consider "race use" parts that are gonna go on street bikes.
To HELL with the epa
Hi Foo , sound saves lives, I know this is a slightly different scenario, but two weeks ago I was down in my local town, I looked both ways to see if there’s anything coming in traffic, I went to step on to the road I nearly got hit by electric car, Luckily, I had my wits about me,
I think they are going about this in the wrong direction , As there is more things out in the road in atmosphere, that produces more pollution than what a motorcycle does, that should be their first priority, not the minority motorbikes, we will not be allowed to fart soon.
I wouldn't sell them! I've got some parts myself I thought I'll never use these well now I just might!
Dude you’re absolutely the best solid badass source for performance information
Reading that description of your bike took me back to the good old days, back then we only thought things were going to the pot.

It's the same with all of those "choppers."
A coupla years ago, I bought a high dollar Paul Yaffe chopper for 1200 bucks from a local Harley shop that couldn't sell it.
Will you ever show us your bike? I watch all of your videos!! I would like to see what you ride and what you have done to it 👍
I'll have to work that in a video, I had am down to one now after moving a few times but I will have to show it.
Awesome looking forward to it! I've done so many things to my 2007 110 dyna that you recommend. Keeping it running cooler and more reliable
Good! Let them be mad. They've got a lot of people all sorts of pissed off.
They despise us and everything we love.
@GixxerFoo oh well, not like we can't gut the exhaust and find other means. We always have, and always will.
I had an exhaust system from 1998 on my 2009 96” Twin Cam.
JUST NEED TO GET NEW LEADERS
I hope this is all gone by sun down on after we swear in the winner.
I’m all for that idea
as long as I have my TIG welder and can buy stainless pipe, I'll always have catless exhaust
Glad i sold my '85 FXWG 17 years ago. I had my fun and no regrets and bullshit to deal with now.
It's sad state of affairs in the motorcycle market these days.
I live in Canada, and take my 05 electra glide to an independent shop who fortunately has good used part for my bike.
The struggle is real finding parts for anything 10 years or older anymore! It's getting ridiculous out there!
I am looking forward to owning a Harley Lawn mower,,,,that's what HRD Vincent made in the end for them,,!
There’s nothing stopping anyone from putting carbs on bikes
There's gonna be a spike in single fire ignitions and carburetor purchases. I've actually seen a Milwaukee 8 converted to a carb already. Guy bought an Ebay motor and put it in a custom frame, hell of a lot cheaper than trying to run FI and mess with tuning.
The EPA’s concern with motorcycles should be the least of concerns if there genuinely is one. This really boils down to a bunch of whiny people that just have a dislike in motorcycles from the jump.
Motorcycles are not a loved segment of the world by the masses, most people that hate bikes are just jealous if you ask me.
Glad my 2008 FLHRCI is already set up well
Same with my M8 FLTRX
For used parts .. swap meets !
Personally as long as the touring bike has enough ass to do 70
Mph, 2 up with luggage and merges ok, navigates on and off ramps etc, I'm fine with a conservative build/tune.
I think the epa is only in 1 country, over sea's market just might expand enough to help.
My mind is totally blown right now with what you got total into that bike, that is the kind of deal I am always looking for!
Yeah Gixx, kinda figured that would happen, the law of unintended consequences. Congrats on 65K subs!
Thank you! I appreciate it! They've really created a parallel market which is absolutely gonna make them lose it!
Thank you for the updates 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Anytime! There's more coming as things develop! Right now we're all trying to figure out how this is going to go in the long run!
Still looking for the stock air cleaner for my 07 dyna cvo fxdse
Harley Davidson hasn't utilized their "sound chamber" since they designed the Twin Cam in the late 90's! 😉
That's interesting to hear, they put a lot into making the M8 quieter and designing an exhaust sound around the engine sound.
I have been stock piling parts via eBay, some HD Dealerships online. I bought TC88s mostly so I stock up on wear items
Glad I got 97 and 87 and a bin full of old carbs, and parts. Guess all went up in value now and got a friend with a lathe and 3d printer
Lathes and 3d printers are already priceless tools to have the way things are going!
And that’s why I don’t see a new bike in my future. I’m quite happy with my ‘03 FatBoy and my ‘15 UL!
Guess I'll go ahead and keep my 09, and put money into it vs buying new new
Such a very intelligent and well thought out comment, comrade. Orangeman, is that you?
Your videos are always great and full of information, but what is really impressive to me is your collection of harley t shirts. I actually had to look up one your wearing and being from Ukraine had to buy one.
I am glad you caught exactly what that shirt was in support of! I support Ukraine and the sacrifices everyone is making for one man's greed. I am also a firefighter and l saw what those guys were doing to rescue people and put out fires in the middle of a war.
It's crazy that the EPA is going after 3% of all vehicles on the road.
That's what's got me scratching my head!
I’ve been kicking around looking for a 100th Anniversary Harley as original as possible but I’d love to swap out the exhaust. eBay still sells old school drag pipes. Those will probably fit some of the newer bikes.
I am gonna dig into some of the manufacturers I've seen on ebay and they've been advertising on facebook too like Shark Road.
Looks like we’re going back to the chopper days. Going to have to hunt for the parts you want, or have them custom made
Appreciate the info, thanks.
No problem! Thank you for taking the time to support the channel!
I thought a judge ruled that the EPA couldnt make their own laws.
soon! chevron should end, courts out June if I'm not mistaken.
All done with buying parts, unless it breaks, because every year I can still ride is a gift.
is this going to be strictly applied to modified exhausts and all performance mod parts in Leftist epa praising states along the coast, or is this going to be applied across all States?
hope like hell my thundermax tuner i bought back in 2013 for my 2012 flhp doesnt take a crap
Anyone that's good in ECM and electronics repair just found themselves a new enterprise!
sounds like investing in a wielder and starting a custom exhaust shop wouldnt be a bad idea
I've been looking for a turner to add more fuel
to my '07 street glide. Any tips?
I would go with a Power Vision 3 or if you can still find one get a FuelPak 3, the new 4 versions are all EPA legal tunes.
The power Vision says for bikes 2021 and up would it still work for my 07
Your right Gixx, when backed into a corner most of us will find a way to make it work, I buy used parts from places like craigslist, kijiji, swap meets and word of mouth.
@@GixxerFoo that is one good thing that the internet is for.. lots of underground programers willing to do sketchy shit
just an idea that was used on the old cars in the USA a Y shaped adapter one to a standard silencer the other to stripped out exhaust
That's not a bad idea at all!
@@GixxerFooyou can copy right the idea if you like lol
Bravo! That’s the way to look at it!
Keeping my old 2000 TC88 with a carb :)
For whats it worth, I took a Kerker 2 into 1 Off of a 103 and it fit right onto my 80" Evo. I did have to make a bracket for the tai end.
I sure miss Kerker exhaust!
Keeping my 2002 Road King FOREVER!!!
That still has the Timken lower end and the non pressed crank! Don't let that bike go!
I have a lot of good deals and hard to find parts at swap meets . But you should not limit yourself , I found a very good exhaust for my evo at a second hand store . 9:33
You can find some killer deals at those little stores, the older Screamin Eagle slip ons were awesome and truly hard to beat back in the day!
Leave it to the Government to turn law abiding tax paying citizens into outlaws.
They literally made us all outlaw bikers and created a parallel market.
I love my Rush exhaust! Don’t know why more people don’t run them. Made my bike run cooler and sounds great too
Timely video speaking of older bikes and parts.
One of the best tuners still
That's what I am talking about! This is the kind of ungovernability we are all gonna need!
No longer a fix it ticket. It’s a fine but just pay it
I have a 22 BMW S1000R
I put a Brentune on it straight away. Changed A/F ration delete all kinds.
That's the problem with HD
Whewwww that's a bad boy you got! Those are mean right off the show room floor!
Very easy to drill out or cut out the cat on the M8 touring bikes.
You ARE The Wizard ~
I ain't got that kinda magic but I try and make it happen!
they cant make you add emissions that didn't come on the bike. It has to meet emissions standards at the time it was manufactured.
Will Vance and Hines tuners still have auto tune and will that somehow also be limited?
My Fi2000 is not vin locked! Stage 1 103 running 128ft/lbs on the dyno.
That's what we like!
I'm already having a hard time finding a 2-1 exhaust for my pre rubber mount Sportster.
I always said the day we have issues finding parts for Sportsters we are in trouble!

I hope those weekend warriors got a lot of money cause hopping up that new stuff just got a whole lot more expensive!

Off subject, but is it safe/recommended to run 93 octane in a 2005 XL883. I'm buying one soon and I run atleast 91 in everything
Is that a yes?
It's safe to do so. Check the owners manual to see if it's required or recommended, but it is definitely safe
I've kicked around that idea quite a bit, put one together that's solid with a little kick that's not crazy!
