Dragon's Dogma incorporated so many amazing mechanics when other action RPGs played it safe and simple. Hopefully this one gets the attention it deserves.
True, DD1 came out a decade ago and is more innovative than most games today.
Harpy!! Harpy!! 😂😂 i loved to Go as 4 and Not only Build your own Character but also your Pawn. And if they take Dark Arisen as a start for a End Game That would be Great. But what would be Great would be a big Dungeon like Dark Arisen and there you can Play Co-op both you and your Friend with there Pawn. Would be amazing
my favorite move was grabbing an enemy, put them on my shoulder, then toss them off the cliff. Usually accompanied with words like "I don't have time for this..."

Still probably the most enjoyable rpg combat I’ve ever played with. You really get to choose how you want to play and how to use the environment around you
I remember playing mage in the first one and the end game spells were the most insane spellcasting I've ever witnessed in this genre and possibly across all games.
so start a new character with mage, gotcha
@@Stefantius Yes. But do switch to the "Sorceror" class later on when you unlock it, which is a different caster class than the starter "Mage" class. Only Sorceror has high-tier offensive spells, meanwhile Mage is more of a support/healer class
@@simonlow0210 thank you for the information
I used to clap the Ur Dragon on stream after playing mage > sorcerer > mystic knight for that sweet magic damage boost and would set up the pool and floating orb things and just smack it and it would delete him. Then people would all go in and kill him for their loot. Good times.@@simonlow0210
it take time to charge but the result is freaking awesome, and there is also hunter+mage class that shoot magic arrow
Mages/Sorcerers in dragon's dogma had really amazing visuals and that was back in 2012. I still keep dragon's dogma installed in my pc just so i can play the game and experience the really fun gameplay. The grand-tier spells are especially visually stunning Bolide summoning meteors, Gicel creating giant ice spikes to pierce enemies, Fulmination turning you into a living plasma ball, Seism having an actual perspective shift as you create an earthquake. Also Maelstrom which creates a dark tornado sucking in enemies, it was funny watching it juggle smaller enemies like goblins, but sadly it doesn't have a grand-tier version.
But my personal favorite is actually Magick Archer in small rooms using Ricochet Hunter. The skill shoots bouncing arrows and you can just fill the room with them while turning enemies into pin cushions, practically useless in open areas coz there's no surface to bounce on, overpowered in enclosed spaces coz each projectile bounces multiple times and its damage actually increases per bounce. And I'm so glad that skill is still in Dragon's Dogma 2.
its more fun using maelstrom in towns and watch people get destroyed
Dude the first time I saw the tornado I thought it was some insane environmental event, but then I found out it was cast by my mage. I was so shocked by the whole thing I just watched the chaos and didn't do anything until it ended.
the magick in this game cought my eye at first since I tend to play magick based classes in almost every rpg... but what really made me drop the game was the controlls, for mouse/keyboard they where pretty ugly (for casting at least) is there any mod or patch to have a decent gameplay? I think a controller is probably the best answer tho (I'm considering buying one mostly for DD2 and the new spiderman game)
@@tomasaldinio2295 You can use a PS4/PS5/Xbox controller on your pc.

Dragons Dogma seriously had some of the best gameplay i've seen in a game ever. I had so much fun climbing monsters and beating them up. Other than that, it's a game that really feels like you are going on an adventure. Most adventure RPG's don't really play into that a lot sadly, but it's very prevalent in Dragons dogma.
My most anticipated game besides Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite RPGs along with the Souls series and Bethesda's Morrowind/Oblivion.
I'm happy to see that they expanded on the original concept that made it so unique, rather than chasing trends.

@@thevolta89 Great games all. I'll try Lies of P when I'm finished with BG3, been hearing great things about Lies of P.
I played the game when it came out and was so confused that such a gem existed and hardly anyone talks about it, its probably my favorite rpgs out there, setting myself on fire while hugging the enemies was the best bit of fun I had in the game lol
"Ninjas can't attack you, if you're on fire." - Dan McNinja, 'The Adventures of Dr. McNinja'
It got overshadowed by really heavy hitter titles back in 2012. Skyrim being the one that overshadowed it the most. Honestly as much as I loved Skyrim, DD was so much better. My dream game would be DDs combat and magical systems, with it's pawn system too, in a lore rich and stunning player space like in Skyrim minus the Bethesda bugs and jank lol
@@brandonenke2680dda is just the better game as a vanilla experience.
Dragon Dogma is one of the few rare RPG where a Mage acts like how they are supposed to be. All spells require casting time for build-up, and Higher tier spells are visually impressive. Many other games nowadays tends to have instant-cast mage, making them no different than any other range archer, and the magic spells usually are kind of meh after a while.
PS: Although not quite related, but the "Tales of" JRPG series like Tales of Arise especially, have fun mage character to play as. Be sure to check them out if you like to play as mage in an Action-combat setting, but have spells with actual Cast time and Nice visual effects. 😎
Fun times playing a Rogue, climbing up a giant Ogre, poking away at it for little slivers of damage when suddenly your Mage pawn pops off with Tornado the health bar melts and you can't see shit a damn thing for the next 15 seconds.
Best game on the PS3, and was so good I had to pick it up on Steam when it dropped there. It's a crime that we haven't seen a sequel until now.
Seriously. I usually don't like playing mages as much as other classes, but Dragon's Dogma is different. That sheer sense of payoff when you get to unleash a tornado on top of a boss. There's nothing quite like it.
someone needs to show asmon the showcase of DD Mage and Sorcerer magics... its insane lmao

Dragons Dogma 1 is a absolute amazing game and should be played if you missed it. You really feel like your connecting when you cast spells, or attack with a blade. Its not just a blood slash animation, but the target is impacted by your attack. Its such an addictive game. Dagon Dogma 2 is building directly off the first one, ability wise so, so excited to play this.
I just wish it had more skill slots. It's way too limiting to only get three with the Warrior...

Which one dragons dogma 1 or dark arisen?
@@BansheeN0rn It is the same game. Dark Arisen is Dragon's Dogma + the dlc wich is called "Dark Arisen"
What the person above me said. Dragon's dogma: Dark arisen is for the first dragons dogma what Skyrim: Special edition is to Skyrim. It just includes the dlc.
Dragons Dogma was my first ever platinum trophy. Played that game to death and it’s in my top 5 games of all time. Can’t wait for this one!
Mine too!
Hell yeah brother likewise
Can't wait to see Asmon throwing his pawns off a cliff.

Have it on Xbox360 PS4/5 and Switch I love this game
Dragon's Dogma actually has some of the most insane magic I've ever seen in an action RPG. My mage suddenly cast an entire tornado and I was so shocked I thought it was some environmental event, but no the mage just cast it and it destroyed everything, I was just staring at the chaos not knowing what was happening.
Dragon's Dogma was such a great experience, especially after Dark Arisen. I'm so hyped for DD2. The environment playing a bigger factor in fights has so much potential.
The only negative about Dark Arisen was that the main menu theme no longer was THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEE!!!
@@Laerei Bruh that soong needs to comeback somehow even if a end credits or something, it's so iconic at this point even if it's a weird vibe for the game.
Can't wait for this sequel. The classes in this game were so simple, yet so well done, and they played perfectly to the class fantasy. It's such an overlooked and underrated game.
This is my game of the decade, Dragon's Dogma 1 eclipsed Skyrim and Dark Souls for me back in the day. I am so hyped we are getting a sequel! Been loving it since the demo on the 360!
Agree
Played this game half a year ago for the first time.
Did a second playthrough right after finishing it.
So hyped, i wont even watch a single video lol

@fedorsilva7687 Minecraft most probably succeeds it, both vanilla and when it comes to mods.
I agree though, without mods I wouldn't touch Skyrim ever again unless I get some nostalgic kick to go and visit Whiterun again.
@fedorsilva7687 that's all thanks to the fans though, virtually any game can become amazing with all that support.
Base Skyrim is a mediocre game at best.
I remember the first game having THE best magic feeling of any action RPG, sure the big spells took time to cast, but they felt so much better for it. It was the only action RPG where I preferred to play as a mage, contrary to my usual giant sword theme. Not even Elden Ring managed to capture that magic that they made over a decade ago.
Just so you know ,Dragons Dogma 1 is 40% of what they actual game was supposed to be like due to lack of time and resources. And it's still a fing awesome game. Hope the sequel can fully flesh out the ideas we didn't see.
It probably will be as Capcom is willing to write blank checks for Itsuno. Dude walked into his boss's office one day and said: "I want to make Devil May Cry 5 or Dragon Dogma 2 next.". Keep in mind that DMC remake had been a flop and it had been over 10 years since last game and Dragon's Dogma didn't perform well either. And his boss said: "Alright, which one do you wanna do first?". And he chose DMC5 and it ended up being a massive success.
Also, when he made the first Dragon Dogma, the company was in a bad state, lots of IPs were outsourced and the games were made quick and cheap. Quite a different story this time. They are taking heir time to make gold.

Dragons dogma has had an online mmo that was only released in japan. We had people make translation patchs for it and people in the states could play it normally. The game was called Dragons dogma online it was released in 2015 and shutdown in 2019 it was an amazing game and im excited for dragons dogma 2!!
It’s looks like the original, same classes, same locations, same enemies, even same skills. I liked the 1st game but this looks like a remaster.
@@darthslothious2382 It's not a remaster, the story is different, different characters and they've added more locations tied to the story, after all the world is 4 times bigger in this game, but i do understand why people would think it's a remaster tho.
Dragons Dogma has some of the best spells I've seen - especially maelstrom and meteor, can't wait to see what they do in this game
Legit the best magic system ever done.
And Gicel! My personal favorite
The lightning whip in the first game is still one of my favorite spells in videogames.
Did anyone else notice how stable the frames seemed? Like for a showcase - when he threw the barrel into the dam to release water on the troll - it didnt look like the frames dropped at all. That's amazing.
Suppose that’s what you get when you combine a developer intimitely familiar with fighting and action games with an engine that has proven to be a real solid piece of work :)
Dragons dogma 1was already extremely well optimized, from the sounds of things DD2 will be using the RE engine which itself is already extremely well optimized
The graphics aren't mind blowing (not saying it's bad, in fact it looks great) but I'd take consistent/stable framerate than ultra realistic graphics any day of the week especially for a combat focused game like this.
Just prepare yourself, on Steam the game is listed to have Denuvo DRM
Dragon's Dogma finally getting the spotlight is always deserved, when the original released it was very unfairly compared to Dark Souls but it's a totally different kind of game and best in class for action combat RPGs.
Funny cuz Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma are pretty tied for 2 of my favorite games of all time
Dragon's Dogma is my favorite RPG to this day, it got a spot in my heart that no other game has reached, I have high hopes for the 2nd Part with a more fair budget and time-frame behind it!
how does it fair against baulders gate 3? now i am not asking to say baulders gate 3 is trash compared to dd im just curious of where it stands in your opinion.
@@robosing225 It is an ARPG, so its heavy in action aspect that is the combat. The story is meh while the lore is good, because they got their budget cut or something so it feels incomplete. People mainly play for the exploration and combat, and the dark arisen DLC is why its great. Its an endgame dungeon with lots of cool bosses and in the end there is a continuation of main story and lore bomb/plot twist. I'm sure DD2 will flesh out all of these things.
yeah pretty much what Lionheart said, I haven't played Baldurs Gate 3 yet to be honest so I can not really give you much of a comparison, but I really loved the combat in Dragon's Dogma, it might look shallow on the surface but it does have a little depth that makes it really fun but also not too complicated.
the last one was pretty much a passion project for the guys, they had been pretty much begging to make it but constantly got denied until one day their studio allowed them to make it, but barely gave them any money or time so it was quite unfinished, this time they got a budget and more time which has a lot of people that loved the first excited! @@robosing225
@@robosing225 They're very different types of games. DD is more about combat and real world exploration, while BG3 is about the story and character interactions.
@@robosing225 I'll chime in and confirm that. They don't compare. It makes as much sense as it did when fanboys compared BG3 to fucking Starfield with ship building as one of it's huge feature. Lol..
BG3 has a huge roster of unique characters and ways to engage the world with them. DD is very generic in the way your character and the NPC's in the world engage. Very lite on dialogue, very, very lite on story. tons of simple sidequests around every corner. Where DD shines is once you get questing and are forced out into the great unknown. Extremely dangerous Souls like open world where everything puts you on it's menu. Very engaging combat, thoughtful and helpful loot. charming Pawn companions that are actually helpful and I'd say necessary to survived a trip outside the safety of walled settlements. Hope that sheds some light.
He should play 1 on stream, every capcom game is not a rework but an expansion of the game that came before, majority of stuff shown in this trailer as features is already in 1 and will be expanded upon in the sequel. Same as with DMC sequels starting with 3, Capcom sequels take everything that was good in the game before, improve the bad parts, and add a ton of new stuff.
Then how you explain Marvel vs Capcom Infinite? kekw
I really liked being able to jump on large monsters and fight them like that. It blew my mind. It was so much better than monster hunter. If that's expanded even further in the 2nd game oh boy. 😍
Outside of its roster and art direction it was much better balanced than UMVC3 and its netcode was much better as well, just got screwed over by the Disney/Fox merger problems.
@@blushingralseiuwu2222
@bradleymoore2797 lol no. Monster hunter world=iceborn shits all over this. And the graphics and world mmersion are better than 99% of all games out to this day. Best combat in any game like this too. It's still not even close. And I'm a fan who's played this game like 4 times. It's good, but it's not even close to how great monster hunter world with iceborn is.
Right, most if the stuff that Zack was impressed with here, already existed in the original.
Dragon's Dogma was always one of those hidden gems, but a cult classic for those who played it. Probably one of, if not, my favourite APRG of all time.

Dragons Dogma was such a good game. very underrated when it came out. the pawns were other players that can actually bring stuff back to you and they have alot of different builds
Man i Hope Mystic Knight class still in the game its my fav class among all vocation
Same, I’m expecting there to be at least 12 vocations in the game. I don’t see why they would remove the “paladin” class from the game.
I think whats most important about this game, I've played both the original Dragon's Dogma and Dark Arisen is the mechanics. They haven't changed and just added onto it. Streamlining and updating some of the best mechanics a game could get. You can't go wrong there as these mechanics worked in the first game.
And I like how he explained these mechanics and not assuming everyone did play the first one; A great refresher for myself and a good introduction to new players.
I’ve been waiting for this damn game for 11 years. I’m going to lose a SIGNIFICANT amount of life to it and I’m ok with that.
Edit: To the people who don’t know about dragons dogma, don’t worry about the second game. It is a passion project for Itsuno, he’s been wanting to make this game ever since he started working on DMC5. This game has none of the set backs that DDDA had that led to 60% of its original planned content being cut, namely trust from Capcom, time, and budget restraints. Itsuno has had 5 years to make the game he wants and he’s 1000% had the budget, time, and trust to do so! This game will be amazing.
Same bro, Im so fuckin' REEEEEEAAAAAADY.
none of the set backs, except only 1 weapon per class, only 4 skills per class, no moon level, mystic knight being removed, no being able to choose undergarments or gloves separately, and more
@@NewsofPE Not a single one of the things you name is a set back and a lot of them aren’t confirmed. You have 0 idea if they will do the moon level or they could have thought of something straight up better, the 4 skills per class isn’t true because fighter has 4 skills for shield and 4 skills for sword meaning it has access to 8 skills in total which means that other classes could have the same, they haven’t confirmed weather or not all classes can only use one weapon type(we haven’t seen all the hybrid classes, there could easily be a class that mixes archer and thief), and I personally don’t care about them removing gloves and undergarments but that isn’t a set back, that’s a design choice, and we don’t know if they removed mystic knight because again we haven’t seen all the classes. We have no idea what all the changes to the vocation system are and we don’t know how many vocations there are in total or what their combinations are. So again, the game isn’t affected by the set backs I named nor any set backs that are actual set backs. Dragons Dogma is known for having a bunch of different mechanics and especially hidden ones, why are you acting like we’ve seen everything the game has to offer?
When did Capcom redemption arc start?
@@Psycorde I don't know but in recent years they have netted steady streak of W's, sure there is some L's in the mix but most seems to be pretty minor in the grand scheme.
Dragon's Dogma was one of those action gems around same time as Kingdoms of Amalur and Darksiders - they kind of flew under the radar shadowed by huge titles like Skyrim and WoW. Gameplay is some of the best around and practically carries these titles. While I do find the worlds and stories of Skyrim/Azeroth more appealing to explore I find the combat in Dragon's Dogma far more satisfying.
This is the only game I played 3x from scratch on 3 platforms (xbx 360 / steam / switch) and didn't regret a single moment
Dragon's Dogma 2 is BY FAR my most excited about upcoming release!!! I loved the first one and to this day the combat is still some of the best in the RPG genre. If Asmongold does a playthrough of Dark Arisen we will all be tuning in! Would love to see him use the warrior vocation jumping all over the backs of giant monsters lol would be sick
It came out like RIGHT after Skyrim and got overshadowed a bit but its a classic for sure

For me Dragons Dogma's story and aesthetics made it such memorable experience. I loved the ending of the first and also Dark Arisen expansion was incredible. They have to be lucky to make Dragons Dogma 2 as good as the first one.
I'm glad he is going to try out this series, I tried recommending it on reddit a while back but had no luck and alot of hate about me asking. Glad to see it finally happen!
I just noticed that as they fight the ogre, cuts start to appear where they strike, they are really going for a fully polished experience and I'm all for it.
I'm happy that this game got a sequel. The original is so damn good the only problem that I had is that it looked a bit dull but the second one looks so good. I can't wait.
Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen was so criminally underrated. It's still a great play with a surprisingly large community still active. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try a good rpg. The only thing i would recommend doing research into is your pawn and hiw you want them to act, theres plenty of guides out there to get them exactly how you want them.
Really hope they got hydras in the wild. It was cool to have some run into some super strong enemies randomly like the drake lol.
Also remember making the two cyclops on the mountain fall off to their deaths.
I've invested so many hours into the 1st Dragon's Dogma, you can tell a lot of time and love went into the making of it. there are a few annoying things like the constant Pawn's spamming their lines but you can adjust it and ignore most because some of their dialogue can help you with different monsters, There are multiple ways to playthrough it with various different endings. The addon Dark Arisen will at times make you feel like your in a Berserk anime as you wonder the ever changing dark and gritty Tower.
i never commented on one of your vids but i have to say, 5:40 is such a heartwarming moment! lock at his/your facial expressions and hear the change in his voice. reminds me on everything what is beautiful and what i love about gaming. It kind a like shows this childlike happiness all gamers are searching for
I was very fond of the original dragon's dogma. It lacked in NPCs, quests, some game mechanics (defense decreasing damage by flat amount leading to getting 1 shot or taking no damage) and the world was a bit smaller than you expected BUT the gameplay was so enjoyable it didn't matter. Really hoping this 2nd game offers comparable and polished gameplay with a good story and larger world to explore. Even if it falls short in some aspects I bet I'll spend 100+ hours playing all the vocations anyways.
The combat looks great, but I hope exploration and quests are giong to be more interesting than they were in the first one.
They 1000% will be! The first one felt so empty because 60% of the original planned content had to be cut due to time and budget restraints because Capcom didn’t really believe in the product or Itsuno. Those restraints don’t exist for DD2 and they’ve been sure to say that the map size is 4X bigger than the first game and MUCH more dense with content.
no, chance of that are slim.

Dragons Dogma DA remains one of my favourite games ever made, not just RPGS. Its such a flawed masterpiece and the fact that this game is made a decade later and retains the exact same gameplay and vibe of the first makes me unbelievably excited. DD Dark Arisen can be slow starting, but it ramps up, and gets satisfyingly intricate without being too overly complicated, and the pawn system is amazing. I’ve gotten so much replay value out of it, it’s insane. So many build and party options.
I can see Asmon getting sucked into it for sure.

this looks more like "Dragon's Dogma 1: How it Should Have Been" rather than a separate sequel so far. I'm still looking forward to playing it as I loved the first, but that is how I am setting my expectations. Hopefully way more monsters and enemies, at least twice items/gear as 1, more abilites for each class, and way more quests. Also I am going to keep my copium stocked up for the chance of co-op.
I loved the original Dragon's Dogma, and really only neglected it as I was so late to discover such a gem. This one looks to be an improvement in every way on a game that was already masterful and I can't even tell you how excited I am for it
You should absolutely go through the first one. It's awesome. Climbing monsters is alot of fun. Like shadow of colossus
Dragon’s Dogma was one of my favorite games. It has lots of replay value because of the vast build strategies. The AI compassions can be leveled and utilized by alts too. Wonder if that will be the case for II. and BTW, Mages get stupid powerful, being able to cast an AoE spell that does non stop damage in an entire room for long periods of time.
Using a barrel bomb to blow away a chunk of the mountain to release a flood to wash away the mountain troll was sick the chopping at mountain troll legs which made him fall back and form a bridge out of his body was also sick af and the fact the npc do more that just stand around trying to figure out wither to attack or twiddle their thumbs is really awesome looking good.
the ai is basically an improved version of the already good ai from the first game... the first game is pretty old but the pawns really impressed me... it was actually possible to level/gear your pawns in the right way to allow them to solo boss encounters (granted not all of them but still) the improved ai in the sequel will be even better.
The most exciting thing about this game to me is how they plan to expand in the lore. In the original you get to learn the entirety of the cycle. You know everything there is to being an Arisen, especially with the added dlc. So I can't wait to see how they manage to expand on everything we already know from the first game. While they could just go for the same story different journey, I just have a feeling that this won't be the path they take and so I just can't help but feel pumped to play this game.
There's an Arisen ruling the human kingdom now with his own Pawn Army. Likely they're no scrub like our pal ye olde dragonsbane the coward. The cycle might've been changed.

@@nexli5130 ❤️ Azur Lane. The Pizza Fleet is really nice
Just to clarify, DD2 will be partially online as it allows you to share and recruit pawns made by other players.
Simple how it works, when you rest in the game your main pawn (the companion who travels with you and is part of the story) skills, gear, and appearance etc is updated and shared to the server. Other players can then recruit your pawn and adventure with them (you can do the same for pawns shared by other players).
You can have up to 3 pawns adventuring with you at one time, 1 of those is the main companion while the other 2 are temporary.
i hope this game goes trending so hard that they might make a Dragon Dogma Online off this
Oh you sweet aummer child
dragons dogma is the first game that gave me a feeling of uneasiness/uncomfort when i first wander bitterblack isle. its not because of it being tedious/boredom. i just felt the gloom and doom of the place. very great stage design.
What’s amazing about this game are the mechanics. Some of the best and diverse making it so much fun to switch between play styles
I hope magick knight is still in dd2 as it was the most gigachad class in the first game.
And don't forget the story, the story in first game is truly top notch.
inb4 all the haters call it mediocre garbage
More like the potential is top notch. You cannot look me in the eye and tell me all that janky cut content didnt affect it. The first Dragon's Dogma is the best 7/10 game ever. This one will be even better.
I hope there's proper fast travel this time. The traveling in the first game got obnoxious really fast
Really excited for this game. One part I am really interested in his how the pawn AI evolved for this game. In DD1, the pawns were already pretty smart and helpful and that game came out so long ago. Sure sometimes the pawns did stupid or annoying stuff but in 90% of cases they were competent help. If they improved on that even further now with all the advancements to AI, the companions could be stellar.
And if anyone asks if the first game is good: Quests and world-design are a bit rough sometimes and it's a bit hard to get into since it kind of just throws you into the world with no clear path forward storywise and much relies on you exploring the world...
*But the combat system is THE BEST combat system of any action RPG I have EVER played!* And I played a lot of action RPGs so that means something.
hopefully the ai is a bit smarter in DD 2... the ai did some pretty stupid things in DD 1... like jumping to their death because they cant seem to know how to climb down things like you can... instead they just jump off the ledge and lose like most of their hp lol...
Yes it's an old game but believe me . I only play this game this year, and trust me, this game was way ahead of its time.
Dragon dogma when it came out blew my mind it’s such a goated game.
I really hope they add cool random events that can occur, on day and night
Definitely you should play the first one. I played it last year for the first time and it was my GOTY.
There are a lot of interactions with your pawns throughout the game and many more of them are funny moments.
2024 is gonna be a wild year... Dragon's Dogma 2, Avowed, and Star Wars Outlaws are easily the top 3 on my single-player list. Nightingale and Enshrouded are some good looking coop options too!
One of the best hidden gems I stumbled upon when first released. Still play it til this day!
DDDA is a very unique action RPG that unfortunately has many flaws, but still does certain things very well in such a unique way that despite all of its problems, I could always see the potential of what the next game could be like so I hope Itsuno finally gets to chance to fully iterate on the game he wanted to make the first time around. An easy recommendation to any of you who haven't played it to give it a try as its often on sale for $5 so even if its not for you, it's not a heavy investment.
The wife and I loved this game (DD1). It was the best game that not enough people played.
man, you guys got to play DD2 early? can't wait /s
@@NewsofPE Yes, were are time travelers.
I love dragon's dogma, it's like what you imagine when someone describes a fantasy action game. Normally it ends up being very limited by design constraints like skyrim or dark souls or dunno god of war where interesting stuff like jumping on monsters happens only in scripted ways. I love those dont get me wrong, but dragon's dogma you can just do incredible stuff and this in the 360 era, that's very amazing, the game was so much ahead.
Just bought the first one, actually genuinely excited to play it. Haven't been excited to play a new game in a long time
I played Dragon's Dogma a few years after release and it took me by surprise how good it was. It might be somewhat dated now but the announcement of DD2 got me excited once more!
I really hope big streamers , youtubers like Asmon could hype this game up when it comes out
I really hope the game will finally get the attention it deserves, I played this game way back in 2013 when it was still called Dragon's Dogma (i didnt know the Dark Arisen version existed at that time). The game as rough as it was, it changed the way i enjoyed ARPGs.
My fondest memory of playing this game was when I had a quest that required me to treck on the northern side of the map. I enjoyed most of my encounters there and forgot to save my 3 hrs of progress when I was ambushed by a chimera. I fought long and hard until the sun sets, that was the first time I experienced night time in DD. I remember feeling relieved when the chimera died before i could finally save my progress but i started hearing noise around me and zombies popped out of the ground and cheesed them by raining arrows from a high ground. I ran out of healing and my lantern started running out of oil when my main pawn shouts "what's that?" It was an undead knight who was lvls higher than me. Safe to say i barely made it out alive because dawn arrived.
Since then i bought the game on 3 different platforms, no other rpg gave me this kind of memory and this was from the basegame alone. The end game and dlc content was something else. Sorry for the wall of text
watching asmon excited for this just makes me smile i'm sure you're gonna enjoy first part
first DD was a banger. super fun gameplay and a decently interesting map to explore made all the more better with the inclusion of Bitterblack Isle. Alduin wishes it was half as cool and badass as Grigori.
Amazing. He took a shower
I hope they keep the pawn system of the first one.
The one thing Japanese developers need to get better at absolutely is control mapping and keyboard mapping especially. It's always been infamously non-intuitive
It's non-intuitive for the western audience not the japanese one.
with the recent AC6 being really well optimized for PC (with just a small drawback) and great K&M controls, it looks promising (especially since this is developed for PC and not just ported)
Will be getting day 1. The first was badass. Plus this is being made in the RE engine.
It’s crazy that Asmon wasted most of his life playing wow he missed out on so many good games. He is basically a gen z gamer rn who has no idea how many good games he has missed out on.
Well he mostly played WoW for years. To be honest, he's lucky to have a backlog of amazing games that he can experience with a fresh perspective.
ahh im still having PTSD from playing Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen on my Xbox 360, dying and losing 4 hours of progress cus the game doesn't have auto save and I forgot to save
Excited about this!
"They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong!"
Seeing him excited for this just reminds me THIS MAN STILL HAS NOT TRIED MONSTER HUNTER.
Playing as the mage in DD was so great. The power is insane
The fact that Dragon's Dogma 1 was so amazing despite the severely cut budget & cut content gives me massive hope sfor this sequel.
My favorite part of DD:DA was the fast travel system.
Throughout a playthrough, you can find medallions that you can place yourself as your fast travel points. With such a huge map and only around 8 (iirc) medallions, the places you end up putting them feel really impactful and personal.
*Potential spoilers*
If anyone wants a good one, putting one on the ledge just past the witch's hut is a good one. It gives you quick access to the hut but you can also drop down to the starter town quickly as well. It's been a long time since I last played this but I think I recall putting one by the tunnel between the east and west zones is also a good idea.
The only game that actually hyped me
AAA game from recent years ranged from disasters to dissapointments
Amazing. Hope that character's appearance can be customized. It's so important for the gaming experience.
I have looked forward to asmons DD1 playthrough for at least eight years now
hands down the first one is my favorite rpg ever. no game did a 2 hand sword class better. so excited for 2
