Dude I was fighting a horde of goblins when a gryphon showed up. We killed the goblins then focused the gryph. My thief planeted a Powder Charge on its head and jumped off, and while I was charging that massive overhead slam with a hammer (as Warrior), the gryph leaped into the air to flee... and at the exact same moment, my hammer connected, and he reeled backwards in the air, then the thief detonated his bomb on its head, and it got knocked out and hurtled backwards through the air... right into the river, and died insatntly to the Brine. Fucking crazy moment!
Lol hell yeah! Crazy moments like this are great, was fighting an ogre and it was almost dead, then I heard a griffin screech and it divebombed me... near the water. And it fucking drowned, I got XP from the ogre and griffin, it was great
I mean they’re right to do so, dark souls created an entire lineage of copycats and skyrim is arguably to this day still one of the best open world experiences in gaming
I had a moment I won't forget in DD2. Pawn warns me about a cliff. I spent the next few minutes getting down safely. Then the same pawn who warned me face planted and was down. All I could think was hey pawn that cliff is steep be careful lol
Skyrim got one thing that 95% of others game dont have, a huge modding support community. Something only a few games like GTA V and Sims could be objectively compared too. Its also why I bought a PC.
The Mods are the only reason skyrim is still relevant. Even after 13 years, just use Nolvus Ascension mod pack and u will experience a whole new game with whole new worlds and questlines like vigiliant.
The vast majority of people playing Skyrim are the silent majority with no mods. There’s a reason why vanilla skyrim was vastly more popular than dragons dogma. Vanilla Skyrim had good aspects all around (more interesting World, more impactful leveling, ability to do quick movements, the best game soundtrack of all time) Meanwhile, dragons dogma had better combat but mediocre everything else with an uninspired world.

@@pharon5297it's a heavy rpg. Focused on travelling, exploring and finding gear and items on the way. There are a main quest to follow and many side quests to do. But side quests may be tricky to find since you need listen to npcs or be at the right place at the right time. Combat feels good, with several vocations(class) to try out. You have pawns that guide you and help you that be really good, funny or a total disaster.
yes, this is the Modern way of Playing the game. Games nowadays are immersive enough to the point that your mind can Believe it. i often feels like i'm exist in the world, it's no longer a pixel on the screen like previous Gen game. it's like i'm actually having an Adventure, a very fun adventure. and not playing a make believe, trying to fool my mind into believing Lowpoly rock is a real rock anymore
Everything about this game from the camp attacks if you try to cycle days to power level, to the one save so you can't save scum out of wiping a town is trying to stop you from meta-gaming it to death and get you to actually play it. The game isn't that hard every vocation can become completely broken they want you to just enjoy the ride.
@RyanRoberts-qf5et yup. Modern gamers sadly. Huge reason to that too. Gaming became popular. So all the idiots who would just go play do some sport activity or get drunk every other day, is now a gamer. Nobody sits down to enjoy anything anymore. Everybody is in a rush. Everybody wants to be the one everyone is in awe for. Everyone wants to be a pro. Everyone wants to be a content creator. Everybody wants everything easy now. (Im using the word everybody loosely but you get the point.) I started playing Conan recently and everyone in pvp uses the same 3 armor combinations and the same 3 weapons. Its boring. CoD? Everyone using the fastest ttk gun. And devs instead of balancing it so every gun has some form of chance depending on the situation, they just leave it as is. Covid 19 really made these weirdos come in and kill gaming.
It really is its own game, i get comparing it to Skyrim but all that does is create a "father son" dynamic with the game. A lot like any "souls like game" they will always be good attempts at "souls like" instead of just being a good game on its own. Terribly said but i hope you get my point.
They are more talking about the feeling it creates in the player, the sense of wonder. But I totally agree with you, dragon dogma plays like nothing else I’ve played, and the combat is miles better than skyrim
Skyrim had a lot of issues. Skyrim is overrated. It's not even the best Elder Scrolls game. Dragons were introduced as enemies too early. You will be fighting, and defeating, your first dragon after literally one dungeon if you follow the main quest. The final boss is supposed to be a world eating threat and he is basically a brick that flies around a bit. First person RPGs tend not to lend themselves well to spectacle as well as 3rd person games for whatever reason.
I agree with most everything you said. Skyrim is not overrated, but the game would be better with your recommendations. Agreed that Skyrim would be better if it forced player to complete Civil War quest & a guild quest line as a prerequisite for main story line. Agreed last boss fight was too easy.
It's not even a father-son dynamic, because Dragon's Dogma only came out a year after Skyrim. If there was any inspiration from Skyrim, it was some last-minute tweaks, and I really have a hard time believing that. Dragon's Dogma 2? Maybe, but there's such a huge gap from Skyrim's release to Dragon's Dogma 2's release, it just seems like a very meh thing to say. The whole video strikes me as something more attention-grabbing than trying to say something of substance, because it just doesn't. You could split apart the Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma 2 parts, and get two videos that work better on their own, rather than together for some lazy and overdone comparison video.
As someone who bought Skyrim on release day and played over 10k hours which is small fries compared to some. Dragons dogma combat just feels more weighty and have tons of options for how to approach the battle. The spells are varied enough to where I don't feel like I'm spamming the same 2 spells over and over. Skyrim is carried heavily by mods after the first 1k hours which isn't a bad thing but gamers shouldn't have to expect the community to fix major game breaking bugs.
10k in a single player game like skyrim wtf. dude did every single quest like 1000 time and playing literally every mod that exist, probably even played mod from the future that had yet to exist at this point. let be honest most review on steam that have 10k+ hour in a random single player game are afk 24h a day just to boost their number (yes this is a thing that people do) not saying they all do that, i mean myself i have 7k hour in POE, over 5k in wow and 8k on osrs/rs3 but these are multiplayer game that get new content every now and then.
@@jasonfortin773 Yea I just gamed a ton back then to the point of no lifing. I have lots of games around the 500-2000 hour area. Unfortunately even with mods now skyrim just feels bland to me since I know how all the quests work and can walk around the map blindfolded. But when it first came out it really captured me.
Me too! I literally stood and watched the fiddle performance at the Inn just taking the vibes. Also, turning off BGM sometimes and just walking by fields or cliffs appreciating the views. This game is so good.
I got lost for 4 hours..cause I followed a pawn. I found a drake, a castle, and a sphinx! I was distracted so long I forgot I was questing...and the quest wasn't even near me.
No truer words have ever been spoken. Couldn't have put it any better myself. And this is coming from a dude that has probably at least 2,000 in Skyrim across multiple accounts and platforms.
mechanically, it sucks ass, but the sheer number of weapons, spells and shouts more than made up for it back in the day... The ambience(Jeremy Soule's soundtrack is 11/10) and the grandeur of the game is what all I wish to experience again, man
Most weapons work the same way and is shitty as fuck, most spells are dumbed down from Oblivion. Shouts were the only fun thing. I got so bored in Skyrim after doing a few quests because the combat is just dogshit. @@ashishbarthwal6961
In dragons dogma 1 they had drakes, dragons, wyrms, and wyverns. They did it correctly with the right differences as well. Also had bitterblack isle and that hole in the ground that goes almost forever. Dragons dogma 2 is awesome but number one had more enemies i think.
Yes. But there are not much variety in most of the DD1 base game, though. Bitterblack Isle DLC on the other hand, introduce a whole new bunch of monsters into the game, not to mention the difference types of enemies spawning between pre-Daimon and post-Daimon.
The only big enemy i really miss is the hydra. It was my favourite to fight in the first game. i was really hoping they would bring them back with a slightly new moveset, hopefully they will make dlc for the game.
I still play Skyrim to this day, with Nolvus, a mod pack of over 2000 mods that transform Skyrim into a modern game, even over 12 years after its release.
The magic is baseline, and modding wouldn't work on a shit game. That is why fallout series is not as big as skyrim and why starfield modding is very small. You have to love the game, to work for free and make mods to add to it.
@@rickycool6083 I believe it has to do with the timeline. There were tons of people asking "What if I could" for stuff like no loading screens, flora overhaul and more followers during the time. Modders stuck to Skyrim despite of the Fallout 4 hype probably because Skyrim is just way better than the Fallout series except New Vegas.
This is how older games were like Ultima Online and even WoW, play the game and enjoy it and not try to "beat" it. It was a gaming experience. People try to min/max and speed run every game anymore. It's sad to me. I thoroughly enjoy exploring every nook and cranny I can find in a game and taking my time.
Same, I dread the moment when I complete DD2. Wish Capcom would just keep adding more and more lands to explore. Especially a bigger elf city or land area would be my favorite.
Agreed! I cant stand speedrunning! Some like it but to me honestly it ruins a game. I dont want to speedrun. I want to enjoy the ethos, the atmosphere. And really get into the game story and characters.
I'm playing Skyrim right now as this vid popped up haha. Yeah if you lay down a world that has a lot of mechanics simply interacting with each other and you drop a player in there to experience it at their own pace, they make their own adventure and share it with others to make a community, and a community will make more content for each other building up onto that base world. If DD2 supports community mods and content, it already has the base to grow into what Skyrim became even if right now is not there yet.
It's more like comparing diced watermelon cubes in plastic containers you find at the grocery store versus cutting open a fresh watermelon to eat yourself It's no secret that Skyrim's combat is pretty awful. Back then, it was a marvel, but compared to how most AAA ARPG's handle the combat system (GoW, FF16, DMC5, The Witcher 3, Dragon's Dogma 2), Skyrim's could have been much better. Hell, almost every skyrim modder downloads the combat overhaul mod because it's just way better than the stale stick swinging vanilla Skyrim has to offer.
Are you incapable of seeing the similarity and differences between the two games series? We compare games all the time. There is nothing wrong with that.
@@jacchann it was awful even back then. The good shit in Skyrim was all the stuff you can do. Looting every piece of armor your enemy has as well as being able to take nearly every item you see in the game was pretty mindblowing to me at the time.
The dragons, griffins, cyclops, trolls, they all spawn in the same areas after a day or 2. However griffins and dragons have certain requirements so that they land. For griffins you either have to be close OR if there's OXs near by, kill the OXes and the griffin will fly down.
They'd have to tweak it a good bit. BBI was meant to be played with as broken a character build as possible. With the way DD2 is designed, it just wouldn't work the same. Honestly though, I rather them do something new instead of bringing back BBI.
0:44 needs at least one more elite mob ... (a few moments later ...) 2:56 Random elite mob dive bombing you ... IMHO there are other elite mobs hidden away like the Grim Ogre which sure are just tougher variants, but there's no way you've seen all the enemies that game has to offer and even if you have I reckon the DLC will expand on that massively!
What I love the most about Skyrim is the same thing that ruins a lot of open world RPGs for me. It's the ability to switch pov. You notice it especially with modded Skyrim. The immersion you get with first person is second to none but the advanced combat is really difficult to do or appreciate without third person.
@surtoz227 If you're implying that Dragons Dogma has any mechanical resemblance to Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowwind or Oblivion aside from base RPG tropes then please explain the similarities, if anything it's closer to the Ultima series. The Elder Scrolls did not invent RPG mechanics, and the whole comparison the IGN video makes is based on Dragons crashing down etc. I love Morrowwind and Oblivion and they're some of my favourite games to be clear but implying that they're genre defining and that every other game copies their base gameplay loop or that it was invented by Bethesda is entirely incorrect.
I dont like how dragons dogma has the same terrain everywhere you go. Like the other areas of the map are just different colors of the first map, i kinda expected the desert to be a little more open
As much as I hate how the controls feel in DD2, the clumsiness contributes to the combat's vibe, and I love that. Yet, the number of monster encounters adds to the lack of variety and makes the minor combats repetitive and forgettable.
I was casually walking to a village yesterday when a beast i can only describe as the gruffello decided to silently 2- foot me into a boulder, killing me instantly. It was hilarious, and amazing! So of the quests bring me into the lore in ways i rarely have since skyrim. The games awesome
This take is kinda cringe actually, not every fucking modern rpg with dragons in it HAS to be inspired by Skyrim. Dragon's Dogma 1 came out the very same year as Skyrim........ and DD2 is just a remake of DD1 in many ways, heck in some ways it even dumbed down the combat
Not every modern RPG with dragons in it has to be inspired by Skyrim, BUT, the games director has explicitly said that he was inspired by the elder scrolls, so in this case they might have a point
I really enjoyed the sections where you had to break into the palace and jail. It added so much to DD2 that i was not expecting. Short, sweet little story beats like that were needed
What I like about Skyrim is a lot of its dungeons and ruins have story.. Like Deadman's Respite and that another one which is guarded by a friendly ghost in distress because his power to hold an evil lich is waning. Random dungeon's that have memorable short stories behind them..
Listening to disingenuous "Journalist talk" about gameplay is annoying as fuck. They always try to ham up the experience by adding in sheer bullshit it makes me wonder if they are getting a paycheck to do so.
The first dragon you come across in elden ring was so cool. Just being on torrent and dodging dragon fire and running by and getting some swings in was so cinematic up until our fight went outside the playable area and he just disappeared and when I went back his health bar was full again.
I love the synchronization that happens with a good pawn party. For example my thief pawn pulls enemies, and the archer one shoots them while they’re hurling through the air. Like yo, my party is sick.
In Skyrim adding something like KS Dragon Overhaul mod with randomized stats/custom attacks keeps dragons from becoming stale. You never know what's coming.
I played Dark Arisen before Skyrim, and as I traveled around Skyrim on foot I often questioned where are the enemies, why is nobody attacking me, why are the wolves didn't hunt in packs.....
Maybe because it's more realistic? Do you expect people to attack you in the Middle of nowhere? Or wolves attacking you on a place where they don't live or hunt? If you don't have bounties why would anyone hunt you down?? So yes it was intended that way and also the monsters where put on locations intentionally so if you dint see a wolf its because maybe it was put near a camp or body to tell a story.
This is one of the more annoying aspects of DD2 I think. There are enemies around every corner, which makes me wonder how anyone ever gets anywhere in this world. I don't find that it's realistic, and it doesn't really give much breathing room between fights.
Wait why is he comparing DD2 to skyrim like its trying to copy it? Also "its quest design is only half as good" as Skyrims? Skyrims design is todd(lers) first quest
I just think that their decision of adding in the microtransaction is dumb as fuck. Fortunately, it really does not affect gameplay. However, it creates a big excuse for people to keep talking shit about this game.
The game is fun to play, but it is lacking a bit of depth. Hopefully they flesh it out more in the future without selling fully priced expansions. Roughly 30 hours in an I have played only 2 vocations and still haven’t completely explored the first main zone after the capital or even moved on to the desert area. There is still much more to unpack here while I toy around with some of the other game systems, but my biggest issues are the lack of variety in enemies and the ease of combat. The latter could likely be that I am OP for the area, but also once you learn how to beat a certain enemy, you can rinse and repeat the same tactic for every encounter.
Well, it's only a second game with gameplay like this. It's been a niche game since 2012, and the gap between the first one and the second one is 12 years. They need to show it to a wider audience to see how they react to it before they can start refining it and adding more stuff. And Capcom is a greedy corporate company, so most content will probably be released in dlc like Dark Arisen back in the day.
@@evgenyomegin I’m not against paying for dlc, but what I don’t like is half baked dlc content for a high price point. Adding one new area and a handful different mobs and bosses and charging $50 is something I don’t want to see and too many games are doing it today with standalone dlc’s. If however they added more classes and systems, a large new area, a few extra caves, a dozen new enemy types and 5-6 meaningful bosses and could part with a more sizeable chunk of money. All we can do now is wait and see as well as check their progression on improving the product that is currently released. It looks like it needed a few more months of development for sure, but it’s still a decent game. I just want to see it worth its price point.
If you want to make the combat more challenging, throw all three ponds away in to the garbage can AKA the river with whatever old god swallows anything up, and just play solo. It also depends on what class you use. All melee classes can survive solo. If you wanna play a caster, add only one pawn to your squadron and you’re good. As for archer, I think that entirely depends on how good you are and what abilities you’re using.
It's crazy how suddenly your quiet stroll on the road turns into a full on war with an ogre, 3 nearby wolves, and a small group of goblins lol this game is fucking awesome
Someone tell Asmongold that Dragon Dogma 1 has new game plus, superdungeon, world changes with new monster/effects & a true ending. I find no reason that Dragon Dogma 2 doesnt have exactly the same thins, cranked up to 11 (because the world is much bigger). Even in the trailers the boss Medusa was specifically mentioned to be not on the main story. If Asmongold wants to be like the other variety streamers who rush to the story and miss out on 70% of the game, so be it.
Sadly can confirm that dragons dogma 2, while having a short postgame section that is time-gated, has no newgame+ changes or additional newgame+ content, the difficulty does not scale and there is no hard mode. Comparitively it's the equivalent of the OG DD1 release, so expect BBI style content and actual new game + world changes with the release of the leaked DLC in november. DDII doesn't really build upon DD:Dark Arisen, but it builds upon Dragons Dogma and pretends that the expansion/refined release never existed in it's design. Which is weird, but fair enough.
@@ToMo_VOX OG DD1 did have post game, the world changes, the superdungeon can be accessed, the superboss can be accessed. And the post game can lead to a bad ending & the true ending. Dark Arisen is a different thing, Bitterback Isle is a 2nd superdungeon, Dark Arisen has is own post game as well, the final area & the final boss of DD:DA change.
@@GeoGyf Perhaps I'm getting mixed up here, I always had thought that you had Ur-Dragon, everfall and then there were no changes aside from the hard mode toggle. Apologies if I got that wrong! It's still a huge shame we don't have any of this in Dragons Dogma 2.
@@ToMo_VOX Yes Ur-Dragon, Everfall, world changing is in the post game of OG DD 1. The final boss of OG DD1 is the Gregori multifight & the true boss (of the post game) is the Seneschal. I havent played DD2 as i am trying to clear my own backlog, so i am going on your word, and if thats the case it will indeed be a huge shame. Perhaps the devs thought that the extra stuff in the world (Sphinx was revealed to be entirely optional) made up for this? In any case the stuff in DD were a bonus content, the game was perfectly playable without all the optional stuff. But there is a worrying trend in the industry to cut down content, Yakuza had also NG+ locked behind a paywall. Perhaps the AAA companies see the success of indie games who usually have low amounts content, no voice acting etc (it is a valid concern) & they believe they are owed more stuff. Worrysome!
@@GeoGyf The game is absolutely great and worth playing that's for sure and a successor in many ways to the first! I do reccommend it, but if you go in looking for a similar post/newgame+ experience it'll be disappointing. There's an absolutely fantastic base game there though that they can add too, so I hold a lot of hope for the DLC and update content to take the game to the heights that it most definetely can reach!
Crazy how Skyrim came out 6 months before Dragon’s Dogma 1 and we’re still years away from a real glimpse at a sequel. Pretty sure IGN even made this exact same video when the first game came out iirc
Problem is even playing the game chill even if it runs well enough first on your system(most of the time it doesnt). You end up with 50-60 hours once you get the true ending. Replay ability isnt there either aside from maybe a quest or 2 or 1 decision you can change. DD2 needs an expansion badly.
I killed a griffin early on like level 8 and it was the worst mistake because from then on out he stalked me and proceeded to dive bomb me every time I got busy in a fight and then left, most notably when I was fighting a drake and this mfer dived bomb me and squad wiped me, hate him so much
Correct about the Griffin dive bombs. In the first game, you’d see it flying around but the damn thing would barely ever land. I think I killed 2, maybe 3 tops in that one. Now you see them all the time
The best part of Dragons Dogma was the dlc Bitterblack Isle probably one of the best dlc's ever. Fighting Death for the first time 😮😮.. and by far going into the hybrid vocations forces you to play the game in different ways.Magic archer is probably the most fun I've had in most rpgs period
I rarely experienced random dragons dropping down from the sky in dragons dogma 2 - Ogres and Cyclops is whats spawning most. So Skyrim still wins that dragon-spawning award by far.
Es6 will be the defining game for bethesda. Starfield and 76 were by most counts a flop. I can't imagine them sticking around for long as an actual dev studio if es6 flops as well. One can hope, but unfortunately hope ain't enough.
2:00 was Skyrim still huge I bet loads of ppl still play it especially with mods changing the story’s or experience and the amount of different ways u can play it’s got years of replay value
Bethesdas combat is incredibly outdated and imo their biggest fault in their games, back in the day (oblivion & Skyrim days) it was okay/tolerated because 99% of their competitors also had dog combat, now it seems like every company has evolved their combat and Bethesda are still stuck behind, & I honestly don’t see enough of an improvement coming for us in that regard with ES6
Skyrim was my intro to elder scrolls and still 1 of my fav if not MY top fav of all time!! Sooo many good memories with that game over the years!! And outlasted even numerous gfs!!😂😂😂

I was fighting a bunch of Goblins when a Griffon ambushed a bunch of cows near us, after we dealed with the Goblins I went after the Griffon. While we were fighting it a Oxcart was passing by and the guards came to reinforce us, random pawns joined later on as well, the beast was overwhelmed and fled. A few minutes later after I had just finished exploring a cave, the same Griffon came back, and it turns out the beast learned lighting magic, I was cought off guard, and to be honest I almost died. But in the end we prevailed. This game earned a special spot in my heart.

Skyrim doesn't have dragons. The wings being fused with the front legs like that makes them Wyverns not dragons. Ironically for a game that has a story about the return of dragons but actually has no dragons. 😁
Completely different games that are nothing alike gameplaywise but set in similar open worlds, dragons dogma seemed to be like a recoding of monster hunter in a full open world
DD2's world is how i'd imagine The Continent from The Witcher was like before Geralt's time. Before witchers existed monsters were rampant and attacks were random while during the time of the books most of the monsters were eradicated and the witchers were also almost extinct like the monsters they once hunted
It's funny you say that because dragon's dogma 2 is sort of designed with those players in mind so you can do the playthrough again and get the true ending
Bullshit Asmon finished DD2 already, unless he was only doing main story and ignoring the entire point of the damn game which is to explore and have fun. I'm 30 hours in, have have barely done anything with the desert area lol.

Is telling how short he memories are for what truly laid the groundwork for modern RPGs. We used to have to RPG uphill both ways to the story and then fight the bosses barefoot in the snow with only a one button mouse....
Elder Scrolls games' combat takes zero skill and zero strategy. In fact the games suck in almost every way, other than that they're large worlds to explore.
Zero strategy? You must have not played any Elder Scrolls besides Skyrim on easy difficulty. Morrowind was the first modern Elder Scrolls game that became an epitome of various builds impacting your game and gameplay. I mean, I respect that it's your opinion, and I do agree the skill ceiling is obviously low, especially if you compare it to some combat focused RPGs, but saying it takes zero strategy is fundamentally wrong.
I agree sir 100% with Asmond about not rushing thru the game - I’m nearly 180hrs in and just playing the game organically without spoilers nor rushing. I have a friend that blasted thru the main story in like the first week or of release, now he’s not playing anymore.

Don’t listen to this other guy. YES, it is worth it. With that said, the game does have some issues right now. The MTX are literally just for people who want some of the Deluxe edition content without getting the full deluxe. None of those items being sold are necessary to buy & can be earned EASILY in game. It’s dumb that they even exist.
For now, unless you got a very beefy PC or a PS5, I wouldn’t get it until patches drop to improve performance. The open world isn’t really a big issue for performance, but the towns/cities are bad, especially when you have to do missions in them.

I think it was well said. You did a better job at staying humble than I usually do.
10k hours? That's fucking nuts

Yes. But there are not much variety in most of the DD1 base game, though. Bitterblack Isle DLC on the other hand, introduce a whole new bunch of monsters into the game, not to mention the difference types of enemies spawning between pre-Daimon and post-Daimon.
Hopefully theres BBI like equivalent in dragons dogma 2
BBI added a ton of content to DD1, so it's a little unfair.
BBI didn’t come along for years after release. So you can’t use that part of DD1 to compare it to DD2 until DLC is released.

Skyrim is not a video game. It’s a fckn video game engine
True... Bethesda essentially gave us a sandbox filled with tools... And then let us build our own castles .
The magic is baseline, and modding wouldn't work on a shit game. That is why fallout series is not as big as skyrim and why starfield modding is very small. You have to love the game, to work for free and make mods to add to it.
Bad games need mods to be good.

Agree, I wish DD2 had more lore elements like books and more temples/ruins with a small history behind. So that you want to explore everything.
DD2 has anticheat and denuvo. No mods. Only one save. Also why its getting terrible reviews

DD1 one is newer actually, and Skyrim is much better, DD1 is not even close
Yeah, no. You're wrong. Skyrim 2011, Dragons Dogma 2012.
I think that babysitting your mentally challenged pawns is one of the charms. They're pawns, not inhabitants according to lore.

I killed a griffin early on like level 8 and it was the worst mistake because from then on out he stalked me and proceeded to dive bomb me every time I got busy in a fight and then left, most notably when I was fighting a drake and this mfer dived bomb me and squad wiped me, hate him so much
Look above you Arisen!
I wish they'd stop running away from me every chance I get to beating it
Yeah DD2 is lacking when it comes to monster variety. Which is weird because DD1 wasn't even before the expansion
I think you need to replay vanilla dd1
@@twinmonkeycows9267 The fact that you're responding with this. Shows me you need to.
I beat daemon first try on hard with my mag archer I min maxed him. I'm playing basic archer in dd2 and it's fun and powerful
I rarely experienced random dragons dropping down from the sky in dragons dogma 2 - Ogres and Cyclops is whats spawning most. So Skyrim still wins that dragon-spawning award by far.
Imagine if Skyrim had DD2 combat can only hope 4 ES6
DD combat has been good since the first game and nobody has done it again.
Hope and Bethesda is not a good mix bro
How much you gonna hope bethesda has been failing since after skyrim and still people think they can rise up again. Stop funding these fail devs.
Keep smoking that hopium
And outlasted even numerous gfs!!😂😂😂
i can personally guarantee as someone who hasnt watched his DD2 streams. he definently did not "finish" the game. he "finished" DD2 like he "finished" armored core 6.
True ending enjoyers rise up
@@figuures6098 here here
I was fighting a bunch of Goblins when a Griffon ambushed a bunch of cows near us, after we dealed with the Goblins I went after the Griffon.
Friffin in the foglands where zombies constantly spawn is terifying
I’m just glad Asmongold has the “yeah the performance and mtx is ass, but what does that have to do with the game and gameplay itself?”
Performance absolutely harms the gameplay. What is "gameplay" at 20 fps
which is a stupid take, because bad performance can absolutely hinder gameplay
@@Dr.AvenVon but it doesn’t hinder his. He’s not saying other people don’t have problems. But he won’t judge it bc of that since he hasn’t had those problems
@@stillnotchill2560 would you judge a game based on something that didn’t affect you? Bc it hasn’t affected him basically at sll
@@stillnotchill2560wait until the patch bro idk what to tell you. Stop getting upset at people enjoying the game and wait until you can play it. Acting like this is a permanent thing is kinda silly even Asmon agrees.
0:25 I don't know what this guy is smoking, tbh dragons and the Dragonborn nonsense were the worst part of Skyrim, and being forced into it took away from the immersion
Skyrim doesn't have dragons. The wings being fused with the front legs like that makes them Wyverns not dragons. Ironically for a game that has a story about the return of dragons but actually has no dragons. 😁
Its part of the blue balls Bethesda dev method.
All wyverns are dragons but not all dragons are wyverns. Dragon can also be a category, not just a specific name for the winged, four legged type.
Ahh you’re one of those types
Bros the dragon expert
Me bought and played skyrim first time ytd. Was overwhelming with items 😂 wfh to pick, sell. Just kept my things in the magic school dorm.
I can't wait for Dragon's Dogma 3
Completely different games that are nothing alike gameplaywise but set in similar open worlds, dragons dogma seemed to be like a recoding of monster hunter in a full open world
I need them to make the movements better.
Movements? Be more specific, are you talking about character animations or what?
There's already a giant fenrir wolf mod and it's crazy
After playing DD1, I hated Skyrim.
DD2's world is how i'd imagine The Continent from The Witcher was like before Geralt's time. Before witchers existed monsters were rampant and attacks were random while during the time of the books most of the monsters were eradicated and the witchers were also almost extinct like the monsters they once hunted
dide he said Dragon dog shit 2? wow theshift was fast, went form the game is so great every devs should take example, to tis l in few day, crazy
its trash and we all know it.
@@UriTheImpaleryou really think it’s a bad game?
I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm.
It's a joke
I’m enjoying it…I’m only 6 hrs in but it’s got me hooked so far.
Not really, problem with this game is that there's no enough of mobs and vocations. Even after 12 years Skyrim is still the goat
@@yous2244 hell no, skyrim has good roleplay aspects and that's it
@yous2244 and there's plenty of mobs, people just don't explore
@@yous2244 I don't even care to max out or use most of the vocations, don't need to and I'm at 38 hours with a crap ton left to do. If you haven't taken at least 100 hours in DD2, you really haven't played it.
@@ItApproaches oh my God, did you really use the "humfh I didn't need it anyways" argument that me and everyone uses when they're a kid? 😂🤣
Since the first DD, I seen what meta was and as someone who needs to stay dripped up 75% of the time I thought "if this is meta, I don't want it" and equipped whatever I wanted. Staff weak? Defenses low? I'm still melting, I'm still succeeding so no issue
Review of the first game was "Greatest 6/10 game ever made." Sounds like the second has overtaken the first as the best 6/10 game.
7/10
Is telling how short he memories are for what truly laid the groundwork for modern RPGs. We used to have to RPG uphill both ways to the story and then fight the bosses barefoot in the snow with only a one button mouse....
Elder Scrolls games' combat takes zero skill and zero strategy. In fact the games suck in almost every way, other than that they're large worlds to explore.
A beautiful world you can only explore with a 1960s remote control Rover robot.
@hellothere4431 I disagree. The last time ES showed the slightest bit of creativity was morrowind, and even then it wasn't enough.
Preach
@hellothere4431 Yeah, I agree. In an RPG I want to live my story, not necessarily difficult combat
In Skyrim I restarted the game to change character and try new paths multiple times. And it never costed anything, crazy 😱
but it doesnt cost anything???? (bar ur save slot)
Weird its the same in dragons dogma 2 get your facts streight
@@Someone-lg6di glad you can have more than 1 save file and as many fast travels as you want. after all you paid 60 bucks for a game, would be insane to pay for anything else.
People just have to accept the fact that dragons dogma 2 is an unfinished pos
I wanna buy this game so bad. Is it worth it?
if you want MTX on a singleplayer game and frequent crashes, sure
Don’t listen to this other guy. YES, it is worth it. With that said, the game does have some issues right now.
The MTX are literally just for people who want some of the Deluxe edition content without getting the full deluxe. None of those items being sold are necessary to buy & can be earned EASILY in game. It’s dumb that they even exist.
@MicDubTV agreed game is great but i will add if you play on PC, and it crashes constantly refund it and wait for the update and see if its fixed
For now, unless you got a very beefy PC or a PS5, I wouldn’t get it until patches drop to improve performance. The open world isn’t really a big issue for performance, but the towns/cities are bad, especially when you have to do missions in them.
Its awesome
About adding one more world boss; Most likely a Rathalos or Rathian can be used as a DLC monster. It makes sense.
"do you like it more than Elden Ring?" 🤣😂😆😂🤣 How could anyone seriously make that comparison?!?!
Dd2 is beautiful. Elden ring is just horrible to look at. You have to use narcotics if elden ring nightmare monsters would be pleasant to look at and enjoy. Dd2 is video game. Elden ring is same robotic dead mario 1 experience.
I like dd2 better
Im still waiting for the DLC. For me, a player that have played DD1 and spent 70% of my hours in dark arisen mode, DLC is all that matter. I hope capcom can bring the same dark and grim themed places, with multiple variations of challenging mobs, just like what DD1 DLC has to offer
"Skyrim's magic was how it made you feel"
- I don't know man, I put in like over 1000 hours in Oblivion, but couldn't manage more than 2 in Skyrim. It just put me to sleep out of boredom!
Didn't have this issue with dd1 and dd2. In fact I honestly couldn't find ANY Skyrim in dd2 xD
Interesting. I really liked Morrowind, thought oblivion was absolute trash, and would put Skyrim in between the two.
Considering you have to go out of your way to find the mtx, I'd say capcom did a good job. If you click on the "DLC" tab of steam or the "Store" page on the menu, how tf you gonna act all surprised when you see mtx?
