I want to do this to my Del Sol so badly. I scored one that had one owner, and friend of mine who bought it brand new off the lot. Stored in a heated garage for its life... doesn't even have leaky targa top. Runs like a dream. $300.
Gotta love the tuning videos. The sketchy lighter soldering when you said "hopefully there isn't a fuel leak" gave me PTSD from when Brents s2k started on fire.
Lets gooooooooooo the Amish finally let Hunter free. You look like a new man and ready to take over TH-cam with one honda at a time amazing content as always keep up the great work and keep sharing all your knowledge with us we all appreciate you so much
Love the single Jingle content. I have a D series right now with eagle rods and Vitara pistons can't wait to get it in a shell. OG sub been watching along time watched you come a long way congrats on everything and keep up the good work 🤙🤙
That needs much more compression to spool that turbo. Downside of most single cams, unless you run 10.1 or a hair higher on the right turbo you’re pretty much a sled until then end of your rev range.
t3t4 50 trim with a .48 hotside would be a great budget turbo for that car or a gt2860rs or gt2871r if you wanna spend a little more. Can you tell any difference with the cam over stock or others?
Hey I think that the reason the car was likeing such low timing and acting funny was because the cam was probably degreed at -6 an when you zeroed out the cam it pushed the power way out and threw off the efficiency i bet you if you put it back like it was it would pick up power every across the graph .. just my 2 cents I know you have had problems in the past on cars with the cams not set right but majority of the time the cam gears are set like that to get the cam degreed in to spec... anyway keep killing brother love watching you grow the website is looking awesome wish you guys the best with everything and the little one coming
The bolts were loose when it came in. Also if it was retarted 6 degrees like it was initially the power would have been even more laggy but thank you for your comment and support!!!
Really needs a smaller turbo :( or throw nitrous/c02 to spool it 🤣 All seriousness though. Like a 3076 or a 5858 would light up and really bring the car alive
Id like to see a basic how to base map with ya bud i think i got a little bit of a grasp in it but i need more where there is nowhere to do this northen michigan only has rwd dynos i would have to drive about 300 miles to get a correct tune. Id have to do pulls at the 1/8th mile at kaliva and thats 30 min away
Hey I have a question, I have a built b16 with wiseco pistons in my em1 and have an oil jet that broke and found it in my oil pick up tube. Is it ok to remove the oil jets and just plug them?
hello in another video you said you wanted test withe 4849 turbo . in this video you have a 6262 turbo i wanted to see which power can do this 4849 because i'm intersted for a turbo at 3000-3500 rpm and not at 6000rpm (with big turbo). what about this 4849 ?
I’m lost. Wasn’t this the mildly homeless man making Turbo Hondas out of a cold garage ? That’s this guy right? When did you get the shop from my dreams loaded up? That thing is friggan beautiful. 6:02 You even have the willows blowing in the background. Can you expand on the timing and head gasket theory? Wouldn’t overall power have more relevance to cylinder pressure and thus head gasket life? Why ign timing ?
So I finished my build and my hunter tuned bov was staying open on idle. Switched the spring now she’s good. Is there any more adjustment or just s spring swap
@@HunterTuned So what is the difference between the two BOV springs that come with your BOV? I assumed the the lighter spring wasn’t enough being it never closed even under load. Therefore not letting me build boost. I know your a busy man and myself/others could benefit from a quick breakdown/explanation of the two things. Thanks for your time and keep being a badass with anything that has a motor!!!🫡💪
@@HunterTuned Ok I will swap it back to the light spring and see what happens. Not sure if this matters or not but my BOV is around 8inches from my throttle body
Here for the d series content let’s go
I'm here for the D too bro
Yup, I'm looking forward to the hunter and Trevor single cam builds to see if I can build similar and get that big powerband
So proud of what you've accomplished thanks again for being a staple to the community!!!
Super cool. Needs a smaller turbo 100% More fun when boost lights off at 3 grand vs 6.

Great content, it helps how you explain the various inputs and their effects.
Its always a good day when huntertuned uploads. You will go down in history in the honda community!
Hell yeah im almost done building my single. Hopefully it'll be around 500 hp.

Mine is really close to this but with a 5858, Hopefully it will get going before 5k
D series great engine with the right work done
Hella yeah . Can't wait for the D16 build .. brother
Can we get a build list on this one? Would prob go for a similar set up but smaller turbo
Thanks for the video brother!!! Maybe we can collaborate one day from chicago!
im here for that d series del sol content
I got a D16Z6 95 DelSol Si with 5 speed and 142K miles
@@captainmikek8695 I got one with 127k d16z6 5 speed 🫶
@buttadawg6113
Any power mods?
Suspension?
My suspension is shot and needs to be replaced.
Was thinking about Truhart Street plus
Stay huntertuned for the next episode

Basically doing the same build minus the hondata. Plan to go with something smaller on the turbo spec for better response.
Long live the D series!!
Can you guys do an update on the d16 eBay intake manifold
I wonder how it drives on the street! Love to see that after dyno!
He sent me vids maybe I’ll include them in another video
Sick dude!
Out in California. They’ll lock you up and throw away the key if they catch you with a turbo Honda!

God blesss 🙏
Hey not bad at all but stock clutch thats one of the most important thing to putting on the swap but 410 not bad great content ass usuall thanks
177th from the UK.
Those wheels
I'm ready to see yours next!
yo, what roof spoiler is that? is it from another car or specialy made for the del sol?
What clutch again? Stage 1? Is it gonna make it home?? Haha epic that the clutch is still alive after the dyno
Support from nyc 👍👏
Another great video

Look at all that smoke
Hey man, love the content if you’re ever in the market for a video editor I love cars and me and my brother actually turboed our Del Sol
Can you try the Snake COP distributor? Looks newer to the market and very promising. Just curious what you think.
I have a question? Do you ever tune any turbo k20s who have a blow off valve block plate in order to achieve turbo flutter
Niceeeeee🔥🔥
Missed this shit dude
del Sol owners are a unique bunch. 🤣🤣
How much torque did it make?

Red and fwd dynoa are the same thing lol you just pull the car on backwards for fwd

Yea plug em

It spools quicker on the street 3rd gear is violent

Sad you didn't try playing with the cam timing. I have stret savage cam as well and it gained power retarding it
Probably that's why it was set to -6°
So 10 degrees of timing is about the max u want to go running that sort of boost and power ? Otherwise you’ll lift the head ?
Good shit
what clutch is in it ? needs some ideas for the crx build shooting for 400 also but with cable trans😕
Single slammer
What state are you in? Need a pro tuner for my build!
2:24 bro someone farted how did i hear that?
Why does it smoke so much is it the turbo?
Where your location, and how much I need do the same like that?
Are you running a static timing across the entire pull?
Best plugs for a setup like this?
how much have you sunk in to it so far. $500 bucks. +?

What was the final gap on the spark plugs? 0.18?
Yes the plugs that were in it were not gapped to 0.18 lol
would a honda tuned like this one pass smog test in california?
I highly doubt it... Did you see the smoke coming out of that thing? Lol
@@jareddougherty8925 it’s the ethanol content. Tuned @66% e85 lately has been junk

all those mods , and has a stockish clutch in it. SMDH.
At the same time I can't believe how much power the clutch was holding up to!
Hated mine. Knees always against the dash and the seat always at a right angle 👎
But the car mint targa top rwd with some ponys, squirt
Love the car, but the wheels, yikes lol.
Smokes quite a bit l
$4000 for bulid this d16 engine😂😂😂
I bet money there's power loss from the stupid exhaust
