Hi cam ,when I proposed to my wife I had literally no money so I gave her a plastic ring from a lucky bag until I could save up, it’s been some time since then and that ring is still around , thanks for shopping at independent stores the personal touch and they need the trade to fight of the big box stores, you both have a great Christmas and best wishes to both your families.
Hey, that’s a lovely story and thank you for sharing it. We love the local village and plan to support it whatever way we can 😁 take care and Merry Christmas.
My wife proposed to me, first thoughts “someone wants me” I was leading a nomadic life style travelling the country working on large building projects. My wife’s mother lived in Cambridge and when our child was born, we decided to settle there. 40 years together and moved to Scotland in 2004 and the best move you made. Anyway both have a great Christmas and a super New Year and take great care on your travels 🏴
That’s lovely! Thanks for sharing and I’m glad there are no regrets moving to Scotland. We can’t wait to settle here fully next year. Merry Christmas to you both 😁
merry christmas and thanks for the amazing video’s so peaceful and love the outside cooking and good luck with the proposal like the copper ring, copper has amazing healing qualities.
Happy Christmas to both of you. I wish you so much joy and success for 2025. You are two remarkable and resourceful young people and I’m watching your progress with great anticipation and curiosity. All the best xx
Woohoo. My weekly fix! Grats. Ahh. 3c as cold, I remember my first winter here, a little over eleven years ago. I remember when I thought 0c was cold. Seems so long ago now. 3c still taps off weather!
Either way you've done and amazing job in such a short space of time, and your right is very hard to understand the real beauty through the trees from a youtube only perspective!
Hope you both have a great Christmas and New year, your both going to be so busy in 2025.the dog's look like they are loving it.say hi to isabelle, hope she is happy your there.thanks for taking us on your journey. Cheers.
Good progress on the outhouse! Dec-February is usually the worst weather in Scotland, the hard frost mixed with humidity in the air gives you a chill you just can't shake. I work outdoors as a Telcom Engineer and found that layering up is the best way to deal with it.
Thank you! We spent winter in Scotland last year but we had the luxury of a motorhome. I think we need to invest in more winter layers for his winter though!
Congratulations on the engagement, just a thought ever thought about hiring for a couple days a mini digger ? to clear the site and fix out those house boundaries ?
Hi cam, I'm making this comment to you before I watch the episode to the end so I am presuming she says yes, so good luck and congratulations. On another note you come back to your land showing what youv bought and youv bought chainsaw oil. Just let you in on a hack that save you quite a bit of money over time, scrap the chain oil and buy veg oil, yes cooking oil. It works great I use it everyday in my saws 24/7 . Also if your ever cutting over/in or near any kind of water corse if it's a ditch, stream, river, pond, lake.... you legally have to use a natural chain oil = veg oil
@ChilliPepper-n2b yep, more than likely. I am a tree surgeon and run it every day in all my saws which are all stihl, but husqvarna recommend it in there saws.
@livinginkevlar glad to be a little help. It's not a big save but every penny and it's more environmentally friendly. I am a tree surgeon and run veg oil every day in all my stihl saws. Works perfect
Brilliant one Cam. Cool wheelbarrow, won't loose that in the snow. Have you finished up there for the year now. Rather be in Kevlar than a tent. Love and Big Hugs Both ❤
Great video again guys !! Getting there slowly … Do with a little micro digger and micro dumper up there maybe ? (Don’t know if that’s something you’ve considered and budget obviously) nothing like a bit of hard graft though dude so credit to you there !!! 😎 Exciting times ahead 😁 Good luck buddy 🌲🪵🔥😎👍
You are living my dream. Please work smart and hire some equipment. Have seen so many people spend a month doing something that could be done in a day. Congrats on the engagement , my wife proposed to me. I thought she was drunk and kept trying to pick her up. She was going down on one knee. Looking forward to your many adventures.
@ I’m sure you know this, but make sure you use the right materials working with stone. I don’t know what the stones like up there, but never use a mortar harder than the stone you’re working with
Looks incredible, excited to see the journey! What's the rule in Scotland for buying land and living on it? Is it different to England? Can you just build a homestead or still need planning permissions and approval?
You can stay on the land for 28 days of the year without planning permission. Once you have got planning you can live on the land within the allotted time the council has given you. Hope this helps 😊
@@livinginkevlar As I said before that you were half way to half way to half way to 100K subs (around 12.5K). Now you are only half way to half way 😂 👍👍👍👍
Digging your channel. However your digging needs work. Push shovel in with foot then put your hand on your knee and push with leg. Put foot under back of shovel and leave up. Should be no stran on your back. Mabe try find some old pady digging on TH-cam. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND CONGRATULATIONS. YOU GOT A GOOD ONE THERE MATE .
This is sound advice, thank you 😁 Just so you know I will be digging in future videos and it’s all been pre recorded so please don’t think I have ignored your advice. Merry Christmas and Rachel loved your comment 😂 she is definitely a good one!
Don’t mean to be rude but would you not be better buying an old caravan so it’s a bit warmer for you both it’s bloody freezing up here I don’t know how you do it, love your cliffhanger can’t wait till next one xx
We have a ex riot van that I converted into a motorhome and named it Kevlar (because of its box material on the back) the cold weather is coming for us and you will find out what happens soon 😁
We have a fab van, have lived in her for a few years now! She just needs a bit of work doing, so as this first trip to our land was a fairly short one, we decided to buy the roof tent and camp. 🥰 it was good fun! We'll be back in the van there soon.
This series is already filmed, and we wanted to do this manually (for fun, believe it or not). It was fab. We'll be getting a digger for future work, but on our first trip to the land we had no plans so whip out heavy machinery. Merry Christmas to you too!
So refreshing watching you youngsters take on life and following your dreams. Go smash it!!. Success.
Thank you! Always love it when comments like this come through. 😁

This is an amazing tip! Thank you so much, I will 100% be doing this 👍🏼😁
Great tip , thanks for sharing . Just realised that the bio- degradable oil I am paying a premium for is probably just vegetable oil.

Goats clear land and roots quite well.

I think the electric ring is perfect but sorry I’m not up for the pink wheelbarrow 😂Congratulations when you are officially engaged 👏
Bicycle must have been a bone shaker 😂
Congratulations! ... As I'm sure you have asked her by now, otherwise you've ruined the surprise by releasing the video 😂
Happy Christmas to you and yours and I hope all goes well in the new year 😊😊😊😊😊😊

All those colored pottery would make a beautiful mosaic! Trash to treasure!
We have kept them because we would love to reuse them somehow and a mosaic would be great 😁

Thanks Danny, we will be getting a digger in the future. This was just a short visit and I don’t mind the hard graft when it’s needed.
Take care 👍🏼

Hi from dundee in a tent
You’re very brave! 😂
Or very skint
From a bruva to another 🏴 praying for you 🙏.
Left us hanging! Are we gonna get to see your proposal?
Got to keep you hooked! You will see the proposal in the next few videos ☺️
@livinginkevlar oh thank you!
Are you going to rebuild the stone building? That would be cool
We plan to reuse the old stone and there is a nod to the old dwelling in the new design hopefully 🤞🏼
@ I’m sure you know this, but make sure you use the right materials working with stone. I don’t know what the stones like up there, but never use a mortar harder than the stone you’re working with

Please cut those trees down to get the view to the Loch, as well as fire wood for a few years
interested to know if that's part of their land or not.
Good point, really shouldn't assume these things without checking first
Yep not our land unfortunately but they will come down soon which is sad because we love them but that view will be insane!
rocks may of been buried for drainage.i hope the land dont flood on you
Only time will tell but I think we should be ok 👍🏼

Are you not sick of tattoos 😂 What’s you go to toppings? Loving the vids
Actually no we really enjoyed them and both lost a bit of weight 😂 we mixed it up with beans, curries and meatballs
Good translation of tattoos to potatoes 😂

How big is ur land ?
1/2 acre
Why don’t you get a machine in for a day and level the site to how you want it. Not a great deal of expense and will save you loads of time.
we will when we return next year, can’t stay on the land until planning has gone through unfortunately.
Great video again well done
Have a great Christmas
All the best graham
Thanks Graham, have a lovely Christmas mate 😁
You have your work cut out for yourself think it's a good idea to think about getting a small digger in there
Hi why don't you get a caravan for living in, better for work eating and sleeping
We have a fab van, have lived in her for a few years now! She just needs a bit of work doing, so as this first trip to our land was a fairly short one, we decided to buy the roof tent and camp. 🥰 it was good fun! We'll be back in the van there soon.
Check out some of my other videos and you will see the motorhome we have, full tour coming soon on it 👍🏼
Do you know the copper will make her finger green
Like I said in the video the copper wire is just a symbol and not a functional engagement ring.
PLEASE GET A MINI DIGGER AND SPARE US ALL THE PAIN OF THIS SLOW PROGRESS .MERRY XMAS TO BOTH OF YOU
This series is already filmed, and we wanted to do this manually (for fun, believe it or not). It was fab. We'll be getting a digger for future work, but on our first trip to the land we had no plans so whip out heavy machinery. Merry Christmas to you too!
Wait till this guy sees me digging for the well, THE PAIN!!!!
P.s. Merry Christmas
@livinginkevlar hahaha can we not just play time team in peace 😂🫣 (in all seriousness though I do see great digger fun in our future).
Your guna need some help. You can’t keep doing all that on your own! 😅
you would be surprised what is acheivable with time and determination.
