    This will all calm down eventually. There are only 500 FL5’s currently in the US due to the 10,000 plus orders in Japan. They won’t be rare in a year. Congrats on the new ride. Looking forward to your future FL5 videos.

      You are right that the market will definitely cool down. California might be one of the markets where there will always be a market adjustment over MSRP sadly just like it was for the FK8

    Looking forward to you taking this to the track. You have a good amount of experience with the FK8 and would like a true track focused comparison from you. I was interested to see that on the street the fk8 was a bit faster because of the gear ratios but im sure the added rigidity, clearance for larger tires and increased cooling capacity will speak volumes as a track focused car.

    The FL5 is GREAT value at msrp or barely over ($5k max) Not $10k-15k+ over. But that's just how the market is. Either have to take the dive or risk missing out.. thing is, if everybody stood their ground, they would have to adjust it... fomo will do that

    • @GridZilla
      @GridZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t disagree with you but you’ll never get everyone to agree to hold out. It’s more than just the new car price. Even used 2021 FK8’s are selling for $10k-$13k over what their new MSRP was with 20k miles on them. Of course this is region specific but I’m sure you understand my point. No Dealership in their right mind will get anywhere closer to MSRP until at least the used car market is WELL below MSRP from new. Great if you can wait… The product cycle for the FL5 might be done by the time you see MSRP (depending on where you live). I just don’t see it happening in places like CA

    @sus.fk8633 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man... listen if people keep playing this dealer's game of buying over msrp this car is going to continue to be virtually unobtainable to your average car enthusiasts just like the new Z. You're inadvertently making yourself apart of the problem. The more people pay these markups, the more the dealers are gonna continue their bullshit. The Type R absolutely shouldn't be unobtainable for most people, yet it is. That goes against everything Type R stands for.

    • @GridZilla
      @GridZilla  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you to a point. It’s a great idea but will never work because it’s not JUST “greedy” dealerships pricing and selling these cars. As cited in the video it’s the used FK8 market that is also contributing to the new FL5 prices. So until the used car market comes down to well below MSRP, you won’t see the new cars come down to anywhere close to MSRP (depending on where you live). Now. Having said that I can tell you from the dozens of cars I’ve bought over the years… if you are genuinely a serious buyer with check in hand ready to drive a car off the lot then I can assure you the dealerships are all willing to negotiate. These TH-camrs walking into to the dealership and running away with their tails between their legs right after they get the very first number are spreading misinformation on how the ACTUAL market is. Pro tip. It isn’t the crazy $30k markup that so many believe.

    • @sus.fk8633
      @sus.fk8633 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Michael Baxi Media I definitely get that too. And by no means am I throwing shade. It just sucks every time an FL5 sells the FK8 market "benefits" as well. Even if he decides to sell his Fl5 40k miles in he’ll still exit with very little loss because type Rs absolutely hold their value. But, dollar for dollar and in stock form, these fwd sport cars are super fun to drive and cheap to maintain. Don't pigeon-hole yourself to a specific make/type of car.
