Its wild how some people care so much about details i couldnt give a poo about. 8 months to paint a brand new car yellow, my gosh, id never. It was probably a 20k "mod" for what really? To each their own, thats why car culture is great

Great video as always and a great car to feature but also a very passionate owner. Hondapro Jason has been sharing Honda content for many years now and it's great to see he built his car the way he wanted to. I think that Porsche 968 next to the civic definitely deserves a feature. It's a rare car and not often seen modified.
Jason and Larry. Another great YT collab. What a time to be a car head. As we march toward an electrified, autonomous future, content like this feels like a hell of a finale. I miss the good print mags but this content is even better.

This dude is one of the reasons I’m a Honda fan boi, yep. I love the FK8 type R, I had a 2017 2.0 manual and love the chassis. Will get one when this bubble pops and they are cheaper used then new….🤘🔥😎🔥🤘

Honestly, I'm sure there are "true Honda enthusiasts" working at Honda. The problem is that business is business, and at the end of the day they're a large corporation in the business of making money.
@@Lofi.z34 I have a feeling that while there's probably some truth to "they put those there to make the car look what they think people think looks cool," half the reason fake vents exist on any car these days is probably just down to how big cars have gotten, and they need to fill that space with _something_ to keep it from being a large, boring slab of empty panel. Look at the bumpers of even a base model 2022 Civic, and compare them to those of an early '90s Civic or Accord. The older cars only had just enough room to fit a minimal radiator opening and some turn signals/fog lights. Today, they've got too much space to work with thanks to safety regs.

16:45 you should stitch or carbon the plastic edge around the shifter assembly but this is such an awesome build and has to be so much fun to put together. Wonderful job

Another idea is to Install some LED lights under so at night that part of the linkage is more exposed

I've really grown to like the fk8 and the yellow is soooooooooo good I saw one in person if I ever get one id hunt for the color or wrap it
Definitely would have to wrap it lol the only one that comes from the factory in phoenix yellow is a 2021 limited edition which are ridiculously expensive cheapest I’ve seen new is 78k cheapest used I’ve seen was 66k
I like that Honda made these crazy looking, plenty of more modest options out there if it’s not your thing. The only thing I wish is that they sounded better. Still really want one though!
Yeah it sounds pretty shitty. But you forget this when you take a corner at 170 kph without any issues :)). Trust me.
That's what I love about the Type R the most. It looks so wild and different than anything you'd commonly see on the road. I've had people say it looks exotic. lol

Here in Switzerland I paid USD 38'000 for my FK8 (2018). I got the GT version with all the newest things I don't need. I have the dark gray one, not too excited about the 20" wheels, prefer the 18" wheels.
I slapped a set of 18" Enkeis on mine. Never going back!

I was lucky to get my 2020 R with only 10 miles on it for $38,500. It is crazy to see them 10k over now.

I paid retail for mine! 2019. you have to get lucky and get to the dealer when they have a 1 year old model year and a new model year. In order to sell the new one above MSRP they want to move the old model year. Got mine for 37k, the MSRP in 2019 😁

I was told that the under-the-hood coverings being left off was to increase cooling. If it was just cost, that sucks.

I paid msrp for my 2020 fk8. I had to pre order it and it took about three months to get. The dealer told me if the car was on the lot they mark it up about 10 to 20 grand. My payments are pretty high though.
A little boost by gear goes a long way on the fk8 but like mine fullsend in every gear too😂
They don’t put fender covers on the type r, so that air can flow through the hood scoop and out the fender vents

A type r cant run full e85 even with a upgraded fuel system, to my knowledge only with port injection, id love to be able to run full E though

Yes but it was just installed for the SEMA show. I never drove the car with the AWD system on.
